Mad Wolf, the red wolf, was perched in a tree. He was dozing off a little while waiting for something he knew was going to happen. He had been there for two weeks now. He was, as he liked to call, hunting. His prey was Nightmare, the crown prince of the Omega throne.
Soon the expected happens. Nightmare appears walking through the forest whistling some music. Mad wakes up immediately and starts to watch the black fur bear that sits at the base of the tree. A hooting is heard. Nightmare smiles at the sound.
—Ruth! Glad you came! I really needed to talk to you... —The owl shows itself on a nearby branch. She watches Nightmare as if she is paying attention to what he is saying. —I think they're all protecting me too much, you know? Bodyguards here and there with me when I leave the castle... That suffocates a little, you know? —The owl hoots. —Yeah Ruth... You are right. I'll ask to have a little more freedom to walk around... Thanks Ruth! See you tomorrow!
Nightmare walks away, followed by guards who follow him at a distance. Mad watches him leave while trying to believe what he heard. He smiled. Finally, he would complete his mission and be able to return home. He sits on the branch of the tree.
—That's right, Ruth... Thank you so much for the conversation... —He says and jumps out of the tree to hunt for something to eat. Mad Wolf had an unusual life. He was born into a good family. His parents seemed to love him and his two brothers. Life until his ten years went very well until, suddenly, his parents died in an accident at work. From there, he and his twin brother came under the tutelage of his older brother.
Mad's brother was not a good example to be followed. After the death of his parents, he spent days out drinking and spending a lot of money. Mad and his brother were at the mercy of luck. That is until HE appears. HE saved them from a slow and painful death. HE took care of them, gave them shelter and food. When they grew up, HE trained them, turned them into skilled hunters capable of many incredible feats.
HE gave everything they needed, gave a father's love. Mad knew he could never be thankful enough for everything HE did for him and his brother. Mad then decided to help HIM with his "work". He became a hunter for hire. He captured important people like princes, princesses, etc. He never had a problem completing a mission. And Nightmare would be no different.
Soon Mad was back at his tree. He was satisfied after eating a rabbit he had hunted. He was getting ready for bed. He climbs a little higher in the tree in a place where he would not be seen and leans against the tree. He watches the stars through the leaves of the trees.
—Good night mom... Good night dad... Tomorrow is going to be a great day... —He says and closes his eyes. The next day, everything went according to plan. Nightmare appeared without his guards and appeared to be off guard. He again sits at the base of the tree whistling some music unknown to Mad. He sighs and waits for Ruth. He looked very happy. Soon, Ruth appears.
—Ruth! I'm so happy! My father let me walk alone in the forest! As of today I will no longer have guards following me here! Isn't it awessome? —Ruth hoots. —Well Ruth... If you don't mind, I'm going to walk through the forest a little... See you later! —Ruth shrieks and goes flying.
Mad knew this was the time to act. He descends from the tree taking care not to make a noise. Nightmare was already a long way off but Mad knew he could catch him. He gets ready. "Wait for me, brother..." He thinks "I'm coming home...".
He then starts running after Nightmare. He approaches quickly. When he was present to pick him up, something hit his feet and curled up causing Mad to fall. He looks up as the black bear turns to see the scene. Mad gets scared and spreads his big and beautiful black wings to try to escape but a net was thrown over his body making it impossible to escape. Mad looks up only to see Nightmare enjoying the wolf's miserable failure.
—Look what we have here... —Nightmare said, laughing and approaching the wolf. Mad growls. —Did you really think I didn't know you were there huh? Well... I think you're in really bad shape, wolfy...
