All I saw was darkness, nothing but darkness, I couldn't think, I couldn't move, I couldn't speak, I couldn't even dream, sometimes I would get images of mutilated corpses, endless lava fields, mysterious and demonic temples, and a strange key looking thing with a skull attached on it, this all felt like an eternity, until one fateful day, where I saw something forming in my mind, a symbol...
I didn't recognise it at first, it was a cross, but with two other pieces and a part of its left side missing, plus four smaller symbols where on each corner near it, but when I found out what it meant, being "DO NOT OPEN! Death lies inside!" I didn't get why it was in my mind, am I a monster, or a warrior meant to stop some form of evil? I guess I'll find out when I wake up
Then, I heard a voice saying...
"They are rage. Brutal. without mercy. But you will be worse. Rip and tear. Until it is DONE."
And after I heard it, I finally, woke up...
Tails P.O.V:
I opened my eyes to see the symbol I saw in my head in front of me, but it was on some form of rectangular shaped seal, it seemed to have been lifted somehow, I also felt like I was lying on something hard, like rock of something, but when I turned my head around to observe my surroundings, I was shocked at first when I saw some strange humanoids in the small distance, then I realised I was in some form of underground facility
"Ugh... what is this place? Wait... Oh no, I am shackled! What even happened!" I realised my bare paws where shackled with chains tied to them, when I tried to break free, I had somehow gotten much stronger than before, then I heard something on my right, one of the humanoids where approaching me, so I managed to break the first shackle and suddenly when the humanoid got close enough, I grabbed its head and smashed it into the table I was lying on, then after I broke off the last shackle, I was finally free
I saw a pistol laying on the ground, surrounded by some form of demonic ritual seal, i got up and grabbed it when I realised the other zombie looking humanoids where coming for me, I started shooting at them, killing them one by one, I even managed to get a headshot on one of them, then somehow the corpses vaporised, leaving nothing behind
I examined the gun, it seemed to have a charge up shoot inbuilt, so i thought it could be useful for defending myself against whatever those things are, but then I saw myself in a pool of blood on the ground, and I was in pure shock
"What even happened to me!? How did I grow up so fast!? So this is why my voice sounds so deep!" I spoke with shock while slightly shivering coldly, even thou I already knew something wasn't right with my body when I woke up, I realised my hair was getting in view to, so I looked around and found an object I used as an hairband and formed a ponytail to keep my long hair in place
Then I finally realised that the alarms where going off, those things must be the reason behind what's happening here, I then saw a door of some kind, but it was locked, obviously since it was glowing red, I approached a panel which was near me to see if I could open it and it played a hologram... it was a woman, but with some form of cybernetic suit or body, I looked behind to see a enclosed sarcophagus with four other men praying to it, the woman was now standing and looking at it, and spoke "We have to contain this..." and the hologram disappeared
"What did I just see, oh well, it looks like she was wrong, someone did manage wake me up after all, it's just that she seems to be behind all this" I pondered while speaking for myself, I then moved to the next room, to find a strange suit which was attached in the wall somehow, I approached and touched it, then things got very WEIRD...
I saw sudden illusions of hellish landscapes, demonic figures, even the skull key again, and it ended when I saw a orb of lava or some form of energy, which I flew into in my mind, and when the horrific illusion ended, the suit was somehow on my body and the helmet was in my hand, I examined it, flipped it around and put it on, then once it had calibrated an HUD appeared in my face, then I turned around to see a panel saying "DEMONIC INVASION IN PROGRESS" I was somewhat terrified, so I swiped the status report key and it initiated a scan, but the report was unavailable due to a satellite dish array error, it then scanned to see if all the nodes where correct, two of the nodes where fine, but one was offline for some reason due to an alignment error, then I got a voice message from a person called, Dr Samuel Hayden
"Welcome. I'm Dr. Samuel Hayden. I'm the head of this facility. I think we can work together and resolve this problem in a way that benefits us both." Just as he finished, I grabbed the panel and threw it away, breaking it in the process
"I have no idea who this is, but whatever, I'll have to find out what happen by myself I guess... god my memory is so cloudy, I don't remember a darn thing on what happened and how I got here, but let's focus on trying to neutralise and stop this demonic invasion or what the fuck is going on here" I spoke to myself while growling a bit before going to the next door, which lead to a hallway full of those things that I saw earlier
"Oh god, looks like I'll have to shoot them until they are all dead" I said while I started to shoot at the hoard of the humanoids, then I noticed one of them stagger, and out of my instinct, I somehow punched one of them to death with my own fists, I did the same but in different ways to the rest of the humanoids, then I realised I activated something called the DOSSIER
"Huh, this looks like some form of pocket laptop built in my suit, this map for example looks useful to keep a track of where I am" I checked out the other three options, one was for weapon upgrades and one was for suit upgrades, the last one was something called the codex, which seemed like a information database, I checked it out and it seemed like those things I saw are called "The Possessed"
"I guess I'll check this from time to time when I get new info on things" I spoke for myself, I also found out the suit I am wearing is called the Praetor Suit, and the info on it was very interesting, after I was done checking the DOSSIER out I went up the stairs and saw a corpse, which was crushed by a door, and it was holding something that looked like a weapon, then I decided to rip it out of the dead mans grasp and examined the weapon, it seemed to be a shotgun of some form
"Hmm... this could help me fight these demons off" I then lifted the door open with all my might and when I was on the other side, I let it go, but then I saw something coming from the ceiling, then when it came down to the ground, it screamed at me, it was a orange demon with sharp teeth and glowing eyes, it suddenly started to throw fireballs at me, and I got hit by one, but it didn't hurt me to much, just a few slight burns, so I tried to shoot it with my shotgun, but it dodged the shoot and made me annoyed due to the Fire Demons agility and speed, so I shoot at it again and didn't miss this time, and it was killed instantly this time
I checked my codex for info on it, it's was an Imp, a ferocious demon which feeds on its victims in battle, doesn't seem to be that dangerous to me thou, but I saw that one of the entry's to it was locked, so I kept that in mind just in case I stumbled across more info about this demon
I continued walking through the facility, until I reached a big room with some form of nest in the middle of it, with a orange energy circle on top of it and of course it was surrounded by those Possessed's, they seemed to be common around here, so i shotgunned them all to death and even glory killed some of the humanoids, but I noticed something strange with the nest, it had a demonic heart of some form on it's side and I heard strange and creepy whispers coming off the nest
I decided to pull the heart out after I saw that the area was sealed of due to unsafe demonic treat levels, but that caused a loud bloodcurdling scream as it exploded and... an army of Imps where summoned into the room
"Prepare yourselves demons, it's time to Rip and tear!" I said with might as I loaded my shotgun and began to attack the hoard of Imp's trying to fireball me, but while I battled them, I noticed some of the fire demons used different battle tactics, like each one had their own preferred combat style, some Imp's maintained a distance and cling onto pillars trying to fireball me from afar, while some just ran around and tried to scratch my face and burn me
But with ease and skill, I took out the demonic hoard quickly and the lockdown was lifted as I heard the facility voice speak, I checked my codex to see what that thing I caused to erupt was, it's called a Gore nest apparently and it acts like a alert beacon for demons, so I'll have to remember to be prepared when I see those things because when I destroy them, it siphons more demons from Hell to this world
After that bloodbath I went through the now opened door, and saw the hologram cyborg woman again speaking "He cannot be allowed to leave this place. He would ruin everything."
"She seems to be scared of me, but whatever, I'll have to find and kill her since she must have been the one who caused all this madness" I said as I walked into the elevator in front of me and pushed the button to make it go up, and then... Hayden somehow sent me another voice message gain and I started to clench my fists in anger and fury to get myself ready to kill some demons
"I'm willing to take full responsibility for the horrible events of the last 24 hours, but you must understand: our interest in their world was purely for the betterment of mankind. Everything has clearly gone out of hand now, yes, but it was worth the risk. I assure you." When he finished, I broke the screen with one of my sharp twin tails using all my might and anger, and when I got to the surface, I loaded my shotgun and growled some words "Just remember... Rip and tear, until it is DONE!"
I examined the surface as I got out of the elevator, I had no idea of where I was or on how I got here, but whatever, I decided to go on and try to find out what happened here...
As I got to the edge of a cliff, I calculated the length of the pit below me, so I had no other choice than to jump down and as I hit the surface, I was somehow fine even thou I landed hard on the ground, the reason I had to do that is because I noticed my namesakes where heavier than usual, but I think i will recover my ability to fly eventually
As I got up, I saw some form of wrecked train or whatever it is, I was very confused at this point "what even, how could they have done this much damage to the facility? This is just getting more and more out of hand as time goes by" I said with confusion and curiosity, I spotted a datapad on the ground however, I picked it up and downloaded the info on it to the DOSSIER and found out the planet I had ended up on is called Mars, it seems to have been semi terraformed according to this Entry thou, as it says the planet was once unable to inhabit organic life
I continued on, and looked over a cliff to spot some possessed wandering aimlessly around, I shoot them using the charged shoot in my pistol, but as i jumped down, demons started spawning in again, and a new kind of demon looking similar to the possessed was there, except it looked beefier and was armed with some form of firearm
"Alright, time for some action" I said as I started to shoot at the army, surrounding me, the Armed ones tried to shoot me using their plasma gun, and I got hit a few times which caused my health to get critical, so I grabbed some health containers to heal my wounds to keep myself alive, and as I did in the underground facility I glory killed some of the demons
"Here! Have your leg in your ugly face!" I screamed as I crushed one of the soldiers head with its leg I tore off
"Let me open you up" I said as I twisted one of the Possessed's head to kill it
"Here, have a tail to your gut!" I spoke while thrusting my sharp as nails Namesake into a Soldiers stomach
"I wonder how your head tastes!" I screamed with hunger as I used my sharp teeth to chew the last Imp's head off "Mmm, tastes like BBQ meat" I said while rubbing my stomach and licking my own lips
I opened my Codex to see what the Soldier was and it's apparently (and obviously) a Possessed Soldier, and I saw it had the word "UAC" in it, seems like the organisation mentioned in that entry built this place, but I do wonder thou, if they are partially responsible for the horrible events occurring here
But I had to keep going, so I could find out what caused this demonic mayhem...
Some time later
I had battled my way through the demons, I found a blue keycard I had to use to gain access to some stupid door, I found a frag grenade which seemed very useful for taking out a group of those things, I saw some drone which I had to punch in order to upgrade my shotgun with a charged burst, and it really helped me with killing off the Soldiers especially, I found something called a Praetor token from a black and red suit laying on the ground, which was an Elite guard according to the DOSSIER, but after an battle next to the entry of another big facility, I found one of my gadgets inside the facility when I entered it... it was the Miles Electric
But there was something off with it, when i turned it on, the mainframe was different, it was blue instead of green, and it's colour was now Metal white with glowing light blue stripes instead of Yellow
I realised I could use it to upgrade my weapons, so I used it's new functions i discovered to make my pistol's charge shot and my shotgun's charged burst more powerful, and I used the Praetor Token to upgrade my Navigation Systems
But When I was about to turn it off and go on, I received a voice call, coming from someone I knew, none other than Nicole
"Hello Miles "Tails" Prower, if you don't remember me, I am N.I.C.O.L.E"
"Nicole? Is that really you? Hey, Do you have any idea of what happened here, how I lost pieces of my memory or on how I got here?"
"I know you are confused, as for your memory, it's a side effect, and it's hard to how you got here explain since you won't understand, I tried to get a status report on what happened here but I couldn't retrieve any data since my access got blocked and due to a node alignment error"
"Ok, thanks for letting me know, I'll fix it, I swear"
"Good luck, I am counting on you Tails" and with that, the call ended, and I entered the facility...
