Amuno Roshiko
Amuno personally liked assassins more than anyone else in her family. They were cool. Perhaps it was because Amuno came from a warped family in which her mother would poison their drinks or food if they were naughty. She stopped doing that when they were 10 of course. According to her brother anyway, since she was 7 and would still occasionally find poison ivy in her salad. Or cyanide in her orange juice.
Her mother Mitsura did things like this less because she was pregnant with her little sister and Amuno didn't know what the heck pregnancy was but it sure looked weird. And Amuno was fairly certain that pregnancy didn't last over two years. But overall there didn't seem to be anything wrong with her mother. They lived in a secluded area where besides their servants who were robots, no one else interacted with them. Only her brother William (like why does he get an english name?) had been outside.
And William was an idiot! He finally turns 10 and can go to one place and he chooses METEOR CITY? A junkyard? If Amuno was choosing she would go to a castle! A really pretty castle! With really skilled people that would teach her things.
Her current skills were cyanide immunity, some other poison immunity, she had pretty good motor skills, and was agile and fast. She was also very flexible and paid attention to things she cared about. And was decent at observation in general. Of all people, she thought that she should leave because William had only learnt all these at age 10.
"Mom! I want to go somewhere!" Amuno yelled.
"Okay want me to take you?" Mitsura sighed.
"Nah." as she went upstairs to change out of her kimono because that's just what they wore in the house. Don't ask. William stared at her as she ascended the stairs.
Amuno had silky white hair with bright green eyes and hair up to her shoulder. William had orchid purple curly hair and blue eyes. Her mother had violet hair and green eyes. Amuno decided to put her favorite pin on today, since it was her second time going outside. (besides visiting Meteor City.) She also wore her most mobile sandals, and a casual outfit. Honestly she didn't care that much about appearances as her brother.
Then she went to travel.
In most scenarios, a 7-turning-8-soon-year-old would take pretty long to reach a 50 mile distance point on foot.
For Amuno, it took about 10 minutes. To be fair though, she killed a man and hi-jacked his car before crashing it on a hill and leaping out. Her destination of course was Kukuroo Mountain. Like she had mentioned, she had an unhealthy interest with assassins.
Illumi was having a day off. As much as a 9 year old could have a day-off. It wasn't precisely a day-off since he had to watch the new gate guardian. Until someone entered the Zoldyck house uninvited, he wouldn't get to test her so it seemed like a waste of time. But it was Illumi's responsibility so he had to be observant while staying in Zetsu.
"Illu?" Kikyo's frantic voice echoed through Illumi's phone, "Someone just entered through the Testing Gate, they pushed 5 of the doors!"
Illumi tensed, this was not something that he thought rookie Amane could handle, but either way he stood still. He shouldn't expect anything and just cope with whatever happened. However he did not get what he had expected,
He had not expected a little grinning girl.
"Are you a Zoldyck gatekeeper or something? They have stuff like that? Cool!" The little girl had white silky hair, with a star pin on it, she wore tight emerald sandals, with flowers on them, she also wore a white dress with a green apron or whatever that was.
Illumi relaxed, not because she was a girl but because she clearly didn't know Nen and Amane did.
Amane drew the line across the gate, "If you cross this line then I will have to account you as trespassing property." her eyes were menacing, and Illumi decided that she was pretty into her role.
The girl was unshaken, "Is that something the Zoldyck gatekeepers have to say! That's so cool! What's your name?" when Amane doesn't respond the girls eyes glinted with mischief, "What happens if I cross the line?"
Amane tenses, and if Illumi didn't know what Zoldyck butlers were capable of, then he would find it funny that a 6 and 5-7 year old were facing each other. The little girl walked confidently to the line, she passed it and Amane immediately swung her staff, the girl nimbly dogged it.
Amane swung again and this time the girl frowned and before Illumi could blink the girl had dashed behind her and knocked her down.
The thing is, her chop isn't lethal, it's just to make sure Amane does not attack her.
"Amane." Illumi steps out, Amane winces, only a little but the girl notices.
"This is your boss?" she asked curiosity mingled with excitement.
Illumi blinked and decided that this girl had potential but was annoying. Or just weird. He couldn't place his finger on it, but he certainly didn't want to disappoint father the moment they were training Milluki. "Im Illumi Zoldyck, please leave."
"Zoldyck? Wow, that's cool!"
Illumi would have liked for this innocent cheerful girl to leave but this left him with little choice.
Amane's head was still hazy. Whoever she was, the girl knew how to hit someone in a way to keep them down. She could briefly hear Master Illumi fighting the girl. The fact that she had to trouble him.
Her hearing recovered, she heard someone crash into a tree "Okay, okay, okay Illumi Zoldyck you're strong."
Amane winced, it was so embarrassing that a Zoldyck had to be involved. But she knew that the girl had been a tough target.
"Go." Amane was a little confused why he wasn't killing her.
"Aww really? You're really strong! Can we hang out sometime?" the girl protested.
Illumi seemed to be reconsidering letting her live, there was a pause, "Leave."
Amane looked up, the girl was making a face then sighed and left. After some serious struggle she got up.
"That girl didn't know Nen." Amane showed no emotions, but she felt humiliated, her knees buckled.
Illumi looked at her, "She seems to have hit you in the spinal cord." Amane rightened herself, as her dizziness was slowly fading, Illumi turned, "Not very hard though."
"Master Illumi I-"
"I'll tell mom you seemed really into your role and got rid of the intruder." Illumi states, as Amane looks at him in shock, "in return you don't say anything about the girl fighting me." he stared at her, "Understood?"
Is he hurt? "Master Illu-"
"I'm fine." Illumi sighed, "I don't think she was aiming to hurt me."
Amane is relieved, yet somewhat frustrated. Illumi is an important Zoldyck figure and shouldn't be hiding things, but if word of this gets out it could affect her grandmother's reputation, and hers.
"Alright."
Illumi nods coldly and leaves. Amane prays that the girl doesn't bother them again. Amane goes back to being 'gatekeeper'. She blinks at the tree where the girl had supposedly crashed into, it had a huge crack and was practically bent. But if Amane remembered correctly the girl had barely been scathed.
Amuno hopped joyfully. That had been even more fun than she had expected. And the gatekeeper's name was Amane! Their names were so similar! That was so cool! And she actually got to meet a Zoldyck! He had been kind of cold.
"Aww really? You're really strong! Can we hang out sometime?"
Illumi paused, nodded, looked at Amane, then had said "Go". Okay Mr. Frosty, nice knowing you too, have a great day. Sheesh.
For the rest of the entire day she camped outside of Kukuroo Mountain, facing the heavy doors. Suddenly Illumi appeared beside her.
Internally she freaked out. But her face only appeared surprised. Given the fact that Illumi had been unwilling to say their meeting out loud to the gatekeeper then she probably shouldn't scream whenever he appeared.
He pointed at the muscular old man in the shack then gestured for her to follow him. She did. He led her to a deserted area that she didn't know existed.
He pointed towards the left, "There is a yard. Sneak in."
Amuno did not question it. She leaped in the yard, careful not to touch the leaves and trying to find the yard itself. She found it with little fuss, though she was a little clumsier without her usual kimono.
Illumi slipped in much more stealthily than her and gave her a look. "We can talk here, this is my family's old training place."
Amuno grimaced, surely this was his grandfather's old training spot. It looked so old. There were weeds everywhere and only a little open space.
"My great-great grandfather Maha Zoldyck trained here."
He seemed to like the jaw-drop.
Amuno looked at him, "My name is Amuno." they can start with that.
After chatting with Illumi it became quite apparent he knew something she didn't. Amuno decided that they couldn't meet here everyday and that Illumi had training.
"Alright so we'll meet at 9:50pm when you're available." Amuno concludes.
"What about you?" Illumi glanced at her.
"Me?" Amuno laughed, "Oh I'm always available!"
Illumi blinked and nodded.
"Why are you hanging out with me anyways? For such a frigid person it seems out of character." Amuno cocks her head curiously.
Illumi looks a little offended but like who was the kid constantly giving instructions without blinking?
"Father says I should use potential and you have it." he sighed, "Now that we've arranged all this I've gotta go."
"Oh my God. The Illumi Zoldyck used slang?"
Illumi shoots her a dry look as he leaves.
