chapter 1 Oh no it's here
Lightburst was in her room. "Red is Aka, Orange is Orenji, and yellow is Kili no kiiro and what is the color for for black?' she wondered then her stomach started to hurt.
The her phone rang. "Hi mom," Lightburst said.
"How are you doing I know you have big test tomorrow," her mom said.
"I know mom, but I am so worried I might fail that my stomach hurts," Lightburst said.
"Don't worry you will do fine, I love you and miss you and I will talk to you soon," her mom said.
"Bye," Lightburst said and then turned off the light and she groaned about her tank ache. She was dreaming she was seeing all kinds of colors and paints and was playing with them and then red started to flow everywhere and she was moving out of it's way then realized something. "NO!" her dream self said.
Then she woke up and her alarm clock was going off. She turned it off. "I am so glad it's just a dream, getting my period the day I have an exam that would have been the worst," she said to herself as she went to the bathroom. "No," she said.
She was walking to school. I knew it was going to happen someday but why today why couldn't wait like another ten years? she wondered and she saw some of the people and bots staring. What are they looking at is that obvious? She wondered. Then she went into the cafeteria and saw her friends Strongarm, Brightlight and Override sitting at the table. There they are I am not going to tell them at all. She thought and she sat down. "I've started," she said.
"You started congratulations Lightburst," Brightlight said.
"Started what?" Side swipe asked as he sat down.
"I don't envy you I can tell you," Strongarm said.
"Are you nuts Strongarm? This is great!" Brightlight said.
"Yes throw her a party," Override said sarcastically.
"What's going on?" Side swipe asked.
"She's got her period," Override said and Side swipe blushed.
Lightburst looked plenty embarrassed.
"Another piece of toast girls?" Side swipe asked.
"Make mine an ultra thin one," Override teased and Brightlight and Strongarm laughed.
"I don't want to be late for the test," Side swipe said getting up and leaving.
"But it's not for another two hours," Brightlight said.
"You girls got to help me I got to go buy some sanitary things," Lightburst said.
"Didn't you ask the lady you are living with to give you one?" Brightburst asked.
"I would be to embarrassed to ask after all this sort of thing can be super embarrassing." Strongarm said.
Lightburst shook her head no.
"You mean you are not wearing anything?" Override asked.
Lightburst thought back to earlier that morning and making a pad out of the toilet paper. "Not exactly," Lightburst said.
Question time.
"First question," Lightburst said. "When you get your first ever period what will you say? A: Finally it's about time! B: Oh dear! C: I am not surprised it was bound to happen sooner or later. Or D: This is so embarrassing!
"Lightburst has her first period?" Streakout asked.
"Wow," Hot shot said.
"I see," Drift said.
"I didn't know what to say," Side swipe said.
"You know after this she will be going out and hanging out with guys much older than her just like my sister," Streakout said.
"Hey what is going on?" Dynamo asked. "I overheard that Lightburst has her first period and you are right soon you boys will be nothing more than invisible to her," he said.
"Ooh that guys is such a jerk," Hot shot said.
Meanwhile the girls were at the store.
"They come with wings or without for heavy and light flow for over night and then there are tampons," Override said.
"Wow Override you know a lot about this you should've told us that you started," Brightburst said.
"Oh was I suppose to put a sign on my back?" Override said sarcastically.
"Being in this aisle is kind embarrassing. It might be hard for me to buy this stuff if others are watching when it's time for me to buy them," Strongarm said.
"Uh oh its Dynamo," Lightburst said.
"Hi Dynamo," Brightburst said.
"Hey ladies just getting some shaving stuff see you later especially you Lightburst," Dynamo said.
"Bye,' Lightburst said.
"Here get these the first flow usually pretty light," Override said.
"I will get these I want to be prepared," Brightburst said.
"I will get some to, to save me from embarrassment for when it is time for me to get my first one," Strongarm said.
They checked out after that.
Question time.
"Second question," Lightburst said. "When you get your first period who will you tell? A: Everyone I want all my friends and family to know. B. Only a couple of friends and maybe my mom. C. Depends on how I feel. Or D. I would be to embarrassed to talk about it than other telling my mom."
Meanwhile the girls were the bathroom and Strongarm was nervous and Brightlight went to the bathroom. "Man I didn't start yet but I hope it happens soon," she said.
Lightburst went into the bathroom stall and took care of it and then her Japanese teacher came in as she was washing her hands. "Hey Lightburst can I talk to you?" she asked.
"I studied for the test," Lightburst said.
"No I saw that pack and I got my period can I have one?" she asked her.
"Yes here," Lightburst said giving her one.
"Thank you, just when you least expect it right Lightburst?" her teacher asked. "Thanks again," she said.
"You're welcome," Lightburst said and was feeling better. Then she called her mother. "Hi mom I have something to tell you," she said.
"What is it?" her mother asked.
"I got my first period," Lightburst said.
"Are you alright sweetheart ask the lady you are living with for help," her mom said.
"I am fine mom and I will call you again tonight bye," Lightburst said.
"Bye," her mom said.
Lightburst said Side swipe and her friends Hot shot, Drift, and Streakout. "Hi sorry," Lightburst said as she came up and Dynamo was near.
"That's alright and how about we huh?" Dynamo said as Lightburst passed him.
"We made you uncomfortable in the cafeteria sorry about that," Lightburst said.
"It's cool," Sideswipe said.
"She went past you like your were invisible," Streakout said to Dynamo who got mad.
Question time.
"Third question," Lightburst said. "All your friends had started their period but you hadn't how do you feel? A: Depressed because you wanted to start too. B: Relieved because periods are a pain. C: Not depressed or relieved because everyone develops at their own pace. Or D: Happy because if you did you would be really embarrassed." she said.
"If you answered mostly A's you are like Brightlight, if you answered most B's you as like me, if you answered mostly C's you are like Override, and if you answered mostly D's you are like Strongarm." Lightburst said.
"If you don't have periods and never will you are like me," Side swipe said.
"Side swipe!" Lightburst said whacking him and the two of them laughed.
