Pairing: Established John x Tommy

Summary:

One hundred days. One hundred Applin.

John tapped the cupboard's interior for the Apicot Berry Blend to add into his morning tea, and was softened to find somebody waiting for him.

Another Applin. He could tell it wasn't any of the Applin that had come before it because the new ones always came with a tag over their "stems." The short notes Tommy wrote were each unique, and John felt chirpy reading Tommy's authorings, be they in the form of a sappy poem or simple heart.

Applin were supposed to be hard to find in the wild, but after Tommy caught just one, he stepped away from his role as Stow-on-Side's alternate for Gym Leader to become a full-time Pokémon Breeder. Tommy was Galar's – no, the world's – youngest Pokémon Breeder!

It was in service to a greater good.

Give your sweetheart an Applin, and you'd be by each other's side forever.

Give your sweetheart a hundred Applin, and well, you get the idea.

This Applin incidentally made it a round hundred.

One hundred days since Tommy began cultivation. One hundred Applin and one hundred notes reminding John what it meant to Tommy to walk out of the hospital together.

It was hard work. As soon as an egg was laid, Tommy used all the approved approaches to guarantee a healthy hatch and guarantee an Apple Core Pokémon was ready for the next day.

John read the note, digested its message, and stored it in the jar of biscuits where he kept its kind.

John could have remained in the hospital forever if he had Tommy there.

But they were out, and John looked forward to his Applin a day.
