Chapter 1: The Day that we Die… and Came Back; Old Lives Gone, New Lives Start
Ready for a story about heroes, RPG-fanfic based stories, or plain old fanfics? Ugh, fanfics about stuff you've already watched on TV, films, or the web about heroes and the battle against good and evil. That's just what the world needs right now. Have you hung yourself yet? Have you crashed your car into a gas station without your seatbelt on? Have you eaten so much your stomach's burst that you die from gluttony… or have you eaten too much sugar and died of Type 2 diabetes… or just eaten so much you suffer from the worst case scenario and are going through spastic colon… which you can't hold for reasons that your stomach forbids to keep it all in?
If you haven't, then we are at least off to a good start.
What if I told you this was a fanfic about ordinary people thrust into a less than ordinary situation? A life or death situation? A situation… nobody was prepared for but had to make themselves ready for… okay, I'll skip the drama and just say this is a story about dead people given a second chance. No, this isn't All Dogs Go to Heaven, you have to look in the animated film section for this stuff. I'm talking about people from different eras from present time to past times all brought together in random, and made to fight for their lives.
In other words: losers, zeroes, pathetic medicating goose-eggs.
Why would that happen? I'll let you figure it out as the story goes. But trust me when I say this: even in the craziest of circumstances, there is a purpose. And a reason for everything that happens. From mundane and boring to bat-poop crazy and so unbelievable you have to ask yourself if you're still sane.
How about it? Ready to feel good about yourselves while these misfit zeroes go through hell and back and read this story?
If you're still reading this than good for you. Don't worry, this story may not be part of a bigger series or trope as you would thing, but this story's got it all. We've got action, drama, suspense, horror, science fiction, hot girls and guys in badass sexy outfits, romance and a little ecchi, though don't worry, it's more like censored; we're not that pervy.
But to understand it all we've got to go to the beginning of when this happened. Not the very beginning, that would be spoiling what's to come. The now. Right now. As in the present year of when this started out for a particular young man, who I have the pleasure of mentoring to be the best in what he's going to do… as well as poke fun at how much of a virgin loser he is. Heehehehehehe….
Well, it began… well as it would imagine it… in… cue timeline and cuts.
Earth
The Year: 2019
Outer Parts of Virginia
On a highway surrounded by forests was a large bus travelling down the road. The sun was shining brightly, it was one of the last few hot summer days before September, and people from all over were on the journey home for the new school year.
Inside the bus, one class worth of students all resting from their summer camping trip, talking with their friends, or staring at their phones to pass the time. In the front were the teacher as she read her book and a parent acting as a chaperone was watching the road. Two occupants however were feeling down and it was all over their faces.
Now I know what you're thinking: teenager getting sucked into an alternate dimension, possibly a parody of fantasy and/or science fiction world. He's been chosen to be the hero of that world, saves the day, gets the girl. Or girls if it's a harem story. And yeah, Japan's all saturated or drowning in it, but hey, it works. Yeah, it's that usual trope. But with a twist. Usually the boy has to be someone of slight insignificant with a gift, the exiled prince of said dimension waiting for his time, or he's just that plain lucky. Well, you gotta know who this guy is. His name is Riley Wallace, age 18, Caucasian, brown hair, dazzling green eyes, and has to be one of the biggest losers of all time.
Sitting near the entrance doorway to the bus was a young man of eighteen years of age, Caucasian, blue eyes, and blonde hair. He was tall and handsome for a teenager, with pale skin and a physique most girls would drool over. He was dressed in a dark gray overcoat, black turtleneck shirt that snug to his fine chiseled chest, a brown scar draped over his shoulders, khaki pants, black socks and black shoes. He currently had his left arm draped over the shoulders of a girl snuggling up to him. She was Caucasian, the same age as the boy, slender figure, slender waist along with similar slender legs. She had black hair that reached down to her shoulders and flipped upward, brown eyes, and wore a short sleeved white shirt atop a black shirt, a black skirt, long white socks that went up to her knees and black sneakers. She snuggled up to him like a newlywed on their honeymoon, but he was more focused on the window, checking out his reflection instead of the girl snuggled up to him.
I'd honestly say it was this guy, but no. And that he's a blonde. Not to mention a real ego-driven maniac; hardly the stuff of warriors or heroes. His name is Emile Motohans; mixed breed of American and German, and has quite the reputation of being a player, even though he won't admit it. So that crosses him off the potential list.
Sitting three rows over in the back from the seat the blonde and raven-haired passengers, was a loner sitting by himself. He was Caucasian, pale with a few freckles on his face, unkempt brown hair and eyebrows. His eyes were shadowed by round shaped glasses, and a scrawny build. He had a dark olive shirt with a yellow T-shirt under that shirt, beige jeans, and black and white sneakers. He was currently stuffing himself with jelly donuts.
Heck, I'd probably take this guy, but I can tell he'll be dead the first minute he walks on the battlefield. And with him stuffing those jelly donuts in his face, he'll probably die of overeating or diabetes… like I said when I narrated this start.
He bit down hard on the donut that its contents flew overhead from behind. "Ugh, JT! Seriously," somebody in annoyance groaned from behind.
The boy named JT smirked as he cackled with a mouthful of donuts, "That's looks good on you, Daytime Lantern! MAHAHAHHAHAHA.." Though he stopped as he almost choked on what he was eating.
Nope. It's this guy, leaning at the window side of the bus, upset about his personal life, and whipping the jelly stains off his face. While also looking at the commercial app on his phone.
The young man leaning on the side of the bus was a young Caucasian white male of eighteen years of age. He was slim but underneath his clothes if anyone could see, he had a small muscle build; an indication of him being in sports. He had brown shaggy hair, green eyes, and clear skin as he wiped off the remains of the donut that splashed on his face. He was wearing a hoodie with the main body white while the hood, sleeves, front pocket all dark green, with a Number 4 patch on the left breast, and the sleeves rolled atop his elbows, brown jeans, and white and green sneakers, with a green watch around his left wrist. He was currently staring out the window. He wasn't paying attention, he just wanted to look away from the person sitting next to him. His name was Riley Wallace, and he wasn't all that happy, even if he was on a camping field trip.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is Riley Wallace. Son of Charles and Samantha Wallace. On the swimming team, physically fit, despite his attitude and personality, he's quite the thinker. But even so, he's a real nobody. A real… daytime lantern, if you will. For those of you who don't know what that means, watch this:
Freshman Year
Washington High School
A fourteen/fifteen year old Riley was spacing out at the window, not noticing the world around him. He was doing what most kids his age would do: look out at the world thinking about what his life was going to be or what he would do with them. Though most people, like the teacher who walked up being him at his desk, didn't see it that way. As he called out, "Mr. Wallace!"
Riley quickly shot up, almost startled, as he stood out of his desk, straight as a board, as he called out, "Yessir!?"
The teacher looked unamused at the boy's outburst startle, as he asked, "Did you even hear the question?"
Realizing that he hadn't heard the question or even noticed a question being asked at all, Riley slowly sat back down in his desk, looking ashamed at what had happened. "I… didn't hear it. Sorry, sir."
The teacher sighed, as he looked to his class, and pointed at Riley, "This, students, is what we call a Daytime Lantern." Riley looked up in confusion, even while the teacher looked at him, and replied, "If a lantern is on during the daytime, it serves no function. In other words, totally useless."
"Just like Riley!" one of the students laughed out loud.
"Daytime Lantern," one of the female students laughed along with the others.
The whole room was full of laughter as Riley slumped into his chair, looking embarrassed.
That day didn't get any easier, as Riley was going through his classes. Though down the hall, the boys were chuckling and calling him Daytime Lantern. Even in some of the classrooms, a group of girls were chuckling to themselves, as they said that Riley was useless and lazy, though mockingly commented that if it wasn't for the nickname, they never would have known he'd exist. Even during basketball, they called him useless, and even when he got accepted in the swimming team in Junior year, they continued to call him that. All throughout the years of high school leading to the senior year, that name was now his personal nickname in school, and would later on in life.
Present Time
What did I tell you?
Riley sighed, as he stopped looking at the window, and looked at his phone. On it, was a commercial screen, with an add for a shampoo. And it was being sponsored by a girl his age. She was a young Caucasian woman of eighteen, clear and blemish-free skin, with long blonde hair that went down to her calves, and with bell-shaped bangs, and had the most dazzling blue eyes ever. She had a slim and slender figure with a C-Cup chest, thin waist, long legs, and a smile to melt most guys. She was wearing a purple dress that nearly clung tight to her body and hid her cleavage very modestly, with black puffy shoulder sleeves, an oval purple neck-piece, and earrings sporting two diamonds per ear.
She girl flipped her hair back and caught it with her right purple-gloved hand as she ran her fingers through her silky hair, smiling, "See how shiny and wavy my hair is? With Sylk, you can live the dream my hair does every day."
This lovely young lady that Mr. Wallace is fantasizing about is Pacifica Norwest. America's 1st Teenage Idol since she was 13. Billionaire heiress to one of the richest families in America. One of America's top ranked beauties in the top 20. Model, celebrity, and if she worked hard enough to make herself cough up blood, an actress. And here's the real kick in the nuts for ya: she goes to the same school as Riley does, and is in the class next door. Who knew this so-called Daytime Lantern was in the presence of a celebrity? Though sadly, she's not on the bus field trip. Apparently, they could only afford one class to go this year. Why am I talking about her now? Well, we'll wait on later for that to come.
Though he wasn't alone as sitting next to him, was the only one that didn't call him by that nickname. She was a Caucasian girl of Riley's age, but with strawberry blonde hair that was pulled back and made into a ponytail that reached down to her neck, two bangs that framed the side of her face, a bang swept atop her forehead that ended at her right, with green eyes that matched Riley's as well. Her frame was slender with a C Cup chest, clear skin, thin waist, and long legs; like Riley, her frame was that of an athlete, a gymnast so to speak. She wore a blue clip at the left side of her brow, a white button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up to her elbows, a blue sweater top with a light blue kitty face on the chest, a red zip-up skirt that reached to her knees, black pantyhose and brown slip on shoes. This was Gwen Wallace, Riley's cousin, who looked at her cousin sulking.
This is Gwendolyn Wallace. Or Gwen much to her annoyance. Intelligent, beautiful, though smart-mouthed to those who rubbed her the wrong way, and at times her cousin, she was the star pupil that most teachers would die for. And the only person who stood by her cousin, because she loved him. Paternally, not in a romantic sense, you pervy sickos. These two had been inseparable since they were five years old, growing up together. Almost like siblings than cousins.
So why is her cousin being such a sourpuss? Well, let's read on and find out, everyone.
Gwen took a deep breath as she looked at her cousin, "Come on, Riley," she said trying to settle the matter in a positive way, "Are we really going to leave things like this?"
"I don't know," Riley responded without looking at her, "Are you still planning to break our promise?"
"Riley, I told you back at the camp," Gwen said as she tried to over this again, "This is a huge opportunity for me. A chance like this doesn't happen every day."
"Oh sure. Graduating early and getting an offer to go to MIT," Riley said with a mix of anger and sadness in his voice, "That means a lot more than a promise between family."
Gwen looked at Riley knowing what he was talking about. Throughout their childhoods, they were stuck together like glue; always helping out with one another through life. When they were kids, they both promised to attend college in West Virginia together due to always being in the same class, attending the same school, and even the same birthday. Though when Gwen's mother, Riley's aunt, mentioned in her own happy way despite her having little to no emotion showing on her face, she proudly said that Gwen would be attending MIT at Massachusetts. The news during the camping trip wasn't all that good for Riley. And it wasn't all that great since she had mentioned it when the month-long camping field trip began, leaving Riley unhappy the whole 31 days.
"That promise was when we were kids, Riley," Gwen told him, "We both had to grow up and change with the rest of the world."
"It just doesn't seem fair that I keep my promises, but you don't feel like you have to," Riley responded again as he felt as though he was betrayed.
"Life isn't fair, Riley," Gwen continued, "Things change whether we want them to or not. The sooner you accept that changes happen, the easier they become."
Riley sighed in anger while staring outside as the bus drove over a suspension bridge, 'Why do things have to change though,' he asked himself no longer wishing to talk to his cousin at the moment, "Can't things be like they were when we were growing up? Do things really need to change?"
Oh, trust me, Riley, at times in life, change is needed. Though I can understand why you're upset with Gwen, whom doesn't understand the situation you've been going through, since you only had homeroom together these entire years in high school. Though Gwen's about to get a wakeup call herself even from her overbearing control-freak of a mother who made this decision without her choice in the matter. Life isn't fair for anyone and everyone, as they're about to figure out.
And these changes usually happen when some carless oaf does something incredibly careless. Incredibly… stupid, if you will.
Suddenly, Riley's face was knocked into the window when the bus suddenly began to made a quick jolt to the side. Riley's held his forehead as he tried to recover. His vision became blurry as he began to hear all kinds of panicking voices. And most of them coming from the students, as a few got out of their seats.
"What's going on?!"
"We hit that car!"
"What's the bus driver doing?! Texting while driving!?"
Riley suddenly found himself on the floor along with other students as the shaking on the bus became worse and the sound of metal scrapping the sides filled the air. As his vision returned to normal, Riley looked up and saw his homeroom teacher looking at the bus driver. As she shook the driver awake, Riley saw a bottle fall from his hand and onto the floor. A light brown liquid came out of the bottle and onto the floor as students continued to yell.
He grumbled to himself innerly, as he cursed his luck, 'Oh great. The driver's drunk? Are you kidding me?!'
"Riley!"
Riley felt himself get picked up as the sound of Gwen's voice filled his ears. Before he could reply though, the bus shook again sending the occupants onto the floor. Suddenly, a sense of vertigo went through the students as they felt as though they were flying. As soon as Riley recovered, he looked out the window and saw that the bus was no longer on the bridge. It had broken through the side barrier concrete railing… and was now falling fast down towards the water below them.
Before he could react, the bus hit the water hard. The impact knocked everyone out cold as the vehicle began to sink. The impact was pretty hard too, as Gwen was sent flying forward, her head smashing into the mix of steel and glass. Her neck bent in an inhuman way, tearing open her neck, as blood gushed out of her throat, and some of her bones sticking out, as she gargled from a mix of blood and water. Huge amounts of water began to enter the bus through open windows while the closed windows began to crack from the pressure.
Riley found himself buried under a number of students. He could only see though a small gap between bodies only to see the darkness of the ocean floor. He couldn't lift himself up from the weight of the bodies holding him down and he could feel the cold water surround him. But the sight of his cousin dead was the harsh reality hit that woke him up but all too late at the moment.
'So, this is it,' Riley thought to himself as he felt the life in his body begin to fade, 'Even I couldn't keep my promise...' Riley felt a heavy weight on his mind as the idea of his life being unfulfilled began to consume his mind. He never even kissed a girl, let alone had a girlfriend. 'This can't be the ending life had planned for all of us,' he thought in frustration as he began to lose what strength he had left, 'It just can't be.'
The last thing he felt was the vibration of the bus hitting the ocean floor as all signs of life in the bus was lost to the darkness of the water.
Now I know what you're all thinking as you read this last tidbit of Mr. Riley's dying thoughts: They died? And this was supposed to be a story, not a one-liner! I assure you all, this is not the ending. It's just like they say in those Mummy films starring Brendan Fraser: Death is only the Beginning. And believe me, it's a beginning alright. A beginning of the biggest mind-trippiest insanity that the human mind has even been assaulted on.
...
The humming of an airship filled the void of darkness that swept Riley inward, as he groaned slightly. The cold feeling of metal on the floor also swept his mind too, as well as a few aches and pains. Not the kind that you'd get from death but more likely when you were sleeping too long. Riley slid back up on his knees, as he groaned, rubbing the back of his head, "Ugh, what happened?"
"Riley? Riley!"
Riley immediately bolted, as he got back onto his feet, as he looked around, being almost knocked back on his feet. He looked around and saw various people bunched in with him, all freaking out and either trying to find a way out or cowering in what had happened. Though they seemed out of place. There were those from his class, but there were other people. They were different skin colors and didn't speak in their native language, and they all had outfits that looked like costumes. Some were dressed in Chinese outfits that were a bit on the ancient side, like really ancient, with armor pieces, or robes like in Greece, or in old WWII outfits.
One character caught his eye as she had bumped into him. She was a young Asian girl, pale skin and long flowing black hair that was silky and shiny, with auburn brown eyes in the traditional Asian size and shape; small and slits, but big enough to see their beauty, and her hair going down to her lower back, with a long bang parted in the right side of her head, and cascading down to her shoulders like waterfalls. She had an amazing frame from when her sleeves fell down her slender arms and her dainty feet showed from when she moved, or the fact that her outfit was tied tight around her frame. She was wearing a light pink geisha gown with a dark pink sash belt around her waist, and on top of that was a beautiful yellow coat kimono that touched the floor. To Riley, she was a goddess beyond anything.
But there were others that caught his eyes too. Another character was a big and brawly Russian-looking fellah, with platinum blonde hair, ice blue eyes with a beauty mark under their left eye, with a magnificent build and eight; probably about nineteen years old but it was hard to tell due to the brown coat and winter gear on him. It looked like he had come out of Russia during WWII.
Another figure was male, eighteen years, but a giant compared to him, with shaggy brown hair, brown eyes, and a heavy muscled build. He kinda looked like a brawler, and the way he was dressed. He was wearing blue jeans with tears on it, with one being covered up on the left thigh with a red bandana, black combat boots hung on him like sneakers, a gray long-sleeved shirt, black fingerless gloves, a heavy leather jacket with the right sleeve rolled up, and a padlock around his neck acting like a pendant.
He managed to get back on his feet, as he groaned, "What the heck? Where…?"
"Riley! Riley!"
He looked over to see Gwen as she managed to squeeze through to get to him. They grabbed onto each other, as his cousin looked to him, "Riley, what's going on?"
"I was gonna ask you the same question," he replied. "What the…?" But then he looked at the outside of the cage, and pointed, "I think you should look at this."
Both the twins looked and managed to squeeze over to the fenced window outlook. They leaned on the fence perimeter window, as they saw the crazy surroundings. All out there, was nothing but fog and mist. It was almost as if the ground the ship they were flying over was covered in endless fog or clouds. But they managed to look in front to see where they were going, and it appeared to be a giant tree or trees twisting around one another to make an even bigger tree that could make a redwood look like a sapling. It was possibly as big as a mountain. And apparently something was built within the tree; a kind of structure, which was where the strange ship was a port for the ship to enter, as it and another one made their way inside, and lanced. Once it was docked, the front opened up, and a platform extended outward.
Everyone peeked through to see where it was they were taken, and all saw it was a giant black base of sorts. Well, more of an empty hangar hallway, big enough for everyone to go through. The roof was covered in pipes, with two big pipes on the upper side that revealed to have sprinklers of sort. But then suddenly, a walkway was made with lights that lit up on the ground in sides, leading them forward. Though all the occupants in the two ships refused to go, not liking the idea of going somewhere without any knowhow of where or what they were going to.
"They want us to go down there," Riley asked, arching his eyebrow at this.
Gwen on the other hand, was less than enthusiastic on this, "They must think we're totally stupid to go down this way."
However, they had little say in the matter, as the end of the ship they were in, was extending a wall that forcefully pushed them all out. As they kicked and screamed in defiance in this, but to no avail. As they were all scooted off, the vehicles were then taken down in another floor and the doors closed above them, leaving the occupants to stand in confusion. But suddenly, air blasted from behind forcing them to go down the pathway. But as they did, the spray hoses on the ceiling shot off, firing some strange blue-green liquid on them.
As the hoses sprayed high-pressured liquid down on everyone, Riley found himself being pushed left and right along with the rest of the people trapped. He covered his eyes with his arms to protect his eyes from the high-pressured liquid. 'Damn,' he thought as he found himself wandering through the crowd of people and the liquid blind, 'I don't know what's worse. Hanging in a tree with an atomic wedgie or this!'
With every movement, he found himself running into someone different as they panicked like a herd of wild animals running from a gun shot. As he peaked just a bit through an opening in between his arms, he saw hundreds of people running away trying their best to avoid the liquid in vain. There were even some knocking down other people in an attempt to get away. Suddenly, in between the crowds, he saw the same Japanese girl with long dark hair that he met in the transport ship after waking up getting knocked around as well.
He could hear one guy yell out to get out of his as he shoved and pushed others out of his way. After being shoved by the random person, the Japanese/Chinese girl fell onto the floor as hundreds of people ran around or over her. Some of them didn't even seem to care that she was there as they ran over her like she was just a pile of dirt.
As anger filled Riley from seeing treatment like that, he also felt an energy build within him as he ran on instinct against the current of panicking captives. 'Oh no,' Riley thought as he pushed his any through the crowd, 'Not on my watch!' The moment he was over the girl who was cringing in pain, he grabbed her arms and helped her up. "Hang on," he exclaimed as he pulled her onto her feet, grabbed her hand, and the two started move with the current of people.
The girl looked at Riley with confusion on her face as the two started to move with the current of people. She didn't grab Riley's hand even though his hand was closed tightly around hers. "Why are you helping me," she asked him in between the screams of terror, "Should you not be focusing on staying alive!?"
Riley looked at her from the corner of his eye while also looking for a way out, "I hate seeing people treated like that," he answered her honestly as he remembered his days of being bullied at school, "And I'm not about turn a blind eye to someone in trouble!"
Riley didn't see it, the but girl's facial expression said she was taken aback by his words. It was almost as though those words couldn't be used together in a sentence to her. "You didn't have to… But thanks," she said as her fingers closed around Riley's hand, and turned her head to see his face "Also, you wouldn't happen to be feeling a draft, are you," she asked him in a dead toned of voice.
"Sure," Riley said as he processed what she said, "No prob- Wait, what?" He asked her as he looked down at himself. He expected to see his clothing that wore on the way home from summer camp.
Instead, he saw his birthday suit along with his junk hanging in the wind with bits of the liquid going down his body. He turned red from embarrassment at the idea of a girl seeing him like that. "When did I!? I mean! I'm so sorry," he exclaimed in embarrassment as he turned his head in hopes of convincing her that he wasn't a pervert, "I never even- Why are you NAKED!?"
The girl's left eyebrow went up as she looked down to see what he meant. She too was now in her birthday suit and just as we wet from the liquid as he was. But the two of the also saw the remains of the girl's clothing and other peoples' clothing slip down between the floor leaving everyone in the room naked. The girl just shrugged at this new development, "At least I'm not the only one," she said showing that she wasn't feeling fazed by the situation.
As the clothing dissolving liquid sprayed on all the helpless captives, some found themselves being pushed away by the liquid being shot at high pressures. People from all over were being knocked into each other or pushed back to the walls. Gwen herself was attempting to hold her ground as the power spray hit her body with little success.
'What's the point of this,' Gwen thought as she felt herself sliding from where she was standing, 'Are our captives just sadists who enjoy-'
Suddenly, Gwen felt the impact of multiple bodies collide with her own. With the liquid continuing to spray all over the room and her body knocking into others as she finds herself spinning caused her vision to be impaired. Everything looked like a swirling blur of colors as she attempted to stop herself. 'I feel like I'm going to be sick,' Gwen thought as she felt her stomach start to turn and her mind filled with the feeling of dizziness, 'Somebody make this stop-'
The next thing Gwen knew, she felt herself collide with someone's body, and finally came to a stop. Her hands intensively grabbed on to the body of whoever she collided with. She also felt something rub on her lower half but didn't pay it any mind due to everything that was happening around her. Despite stopping at last, she still felt dizzy as she started to lose her footing, and fall onto the floor. As she clung onto the person she ran into, that person was also dragged with her.
"I'm sorry," Gwen said as her mind cleared up, "I didn't mean to- OH MY GOSH," she yelled out in shock as the sight before her while blushing.
There on top of her was a dizzly-looking guy that Riley had spotted along with the Russian, who she met in the transport ship. Only he was missing his shirt. She also found her hands on his chest and Gwen was unable to move due to someone lying on her.
"It's okay," the guy said as his own vision began to clear up, "This place is-" He lost his voice though when he saw who he was on top of as he blushed as well. However, all the panicking in the room snapped him out of it as he jumped off of Gwen. "I'm so sorry," he exclaimed in shock at what he was doing, "I didn't mean for that to happen, uh…!"
"Gwen," Gwen groaned as she was slowly recovering. "Gwen Wallace."
"John Carters," the guy replied. "And like I said, I am sorry. Again."
"It's okay," Gwen said as she recovered as well, "I'm the one who- What happened to your CLOTHES," she screamed in shock at the sight of John who was now completely naked.
"Whatever happened to yours," he yelled back as he covered crotch from her line of sight.
Gwen too looked down, only to blush in harder at the sight before her. As the liquid oozed down her body, her clothing began to dissolve leaving her body fully exposed to everyone around. She immediately jumped on to her feet and covered herself in embarrassment. "What is going on here," she exclaimed as she looked around.
She and John saw that it was not only them who were now in their birthday suits, but everyone else who was being sprayed by the liquid. Their clothing dissolved leaving everyone as naked as newborns as the remains of the liquid and clothing leaked down through the grates under their feet.
Suddenly, John and Gwen were helped back up on their feet, just as the room was closed up behind them as everyone had been locked in a single chamber. And before anything could be mentioned, the floor started to get wet and flood a little. When everyone saw that, they started to freak out and panic, almost clawing each other as the water rose up. Riley was prepared to go for anything, as he was a good swimmer. Though he wasn't expecting someone to get behind him like a shield. Though he suddenly felt another, almost grabbing his right arm.
He blinked, 'Huh? Is that a girl's hand? And what's with the… two… bumps?' he strained to look at his right… and saw two E-Cup breasts squeezed around his right arm, along with two arms. Once he saw them, he freaked, 'IT'S BOOBS!' He looked away, blushing from this physical and nude contact, as he pleaded, 'Stop it! Just let go! This is unfamiliar territory for me! A girl's never asked me out let alone done this!' He sighed as he slowly looked to his left, 'My left's guarded, isn't it?' But then he freaked out as he suddenly got the same treatment… only with the Asian girl. His jaw dropped, 'No it's not! I'm suddenly trapped in a sandwich!' But then his brain cleared up, as he felt the sensation of two bodies clinging to him, as he thought, 'Huh. Now that I think about it, this is the first time that this has happened to me. With her, she feels nice. C or D cups with a slender body wrapped around me like this.' He then turned to the owner of the E cups as he thought, 'And these feel like water balloons full of gelatin with… a six-pack?'
He then turned to the occupant of the E Cups, as he got a good look at them. The woman was taller than him, possibly John's height, though it was clear her body showed small muscle; a six pack with small biceps and strong legs. It was clear that she had strength-training, and had platinum blonde hair shaved off a small portion of the left side, while her right side had a bang covering the right side of her face and a small tuff of it going down her neck in the back only touching her lower neck. It was kind of a sexy and cute pixie cut with a bang. He even noticed underneath the girl's left eye was a beauty mark, and…
Finally, Riley regained his senses, as he blinked, looking at the tall girl, "Wait. You're the… you're the Russian dude!"
The Asian girl stopped as she let go, now that her fear was swept away, as she blinked, "What?"
Even the Russian woman blinked and let go, as he looked to the Asian girl, while pointing to her, "Well, I thought she was a he due to how she was dressed, but…" He then blushed as he got a good look at the Asian girl's nude front, and looked away, "I'm sorry! I didn't…!" But then blushed worse, as he accidentally crashed into the Russian girl's boobs face first. He looked up at the girl's face, as she too blushed.
"RILEY! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING," Gwen screamed as she waddled over. The water showing to have stopped at everyone's belly-button in height.
Riley immediately pulled away, and just dunked underwater in an attempt to cool down. The Russian girl blinked, as did the Asian and the annoyed and embarrassed cousin, as the Russian looked to Gwen and asked, "He does realize ve are all…"
"Wait for it," Gwen droned out a groan.
Then suddenly, Riley shot up, as he freaked out, "Dang it! I forgot! No pants or underwear!"
At that moment, John waddled up to the four, as he looked to Riley, "Just realized that, pal?"
Riley sighed, as he pointed out, "Look, my name's not pal. It's Riley. Riley Wallace."
"John Carters," John replied, but then asked, pointing at Gwen, "You two…?"
"Related," Gwen and Riley replied, as Gwen explained, "We're cousins. Born on the same day and share the same birthday, so we're both eighteen."
"Jhu Yan," the Asian girl replied, as she caught everyone's attention, while covering her chest with both hands, "I am seventeen."
Suddenly, the Russian platinum blonde stood at attention, even though it caused her boobs to jiggle, as she seemed to act like a soldier, "Masha Alyosha, 19 years of age, soldier of Mother Russia's USSR. A warrior trained to fight the tyranny of the National Socialist Workers Party."
Everyone, minus Jhu Yan blinked at that, as Riley was the first to ask, "National Socialist… you mean the Nazis?"
Before that could make any sense, they heard Chinese yelling, and turned to see a few fellows waddling towards them. Jhu Yan seemed to recognize them as she hid behind Riley, much to his confusion. But before anything could be done, everyone heard a machine whirring to life, as they suddenly heard and felt the water rushing in. suddenly, the water was rising again, as suddenly, before anyone could act, it reached their chins, but it was too late. Once it rose, they suddenly felt a whooshed pull, making the water give current and move. Almost as if the area had become a river, as another door opened in the room, sucking them all in. everyone within the room, including the five, were all sucked down what felt like a conveyer belt of a river tube, sucking fast and quickly, sending them all cascading to what looked like a huge armored hallway or conveyer place. Riley, who was desperately trying to see where his cousin went, was able to see above him tubes and conveyers.
It was almost as if this place was a huge factory of sorts. And they were being herded, cleaned, and… Riley did not want to think about it. Suddenly, he felt someone grasp his hand, and saw it was the Asian girl, Jhu Yan, as he saw she was having trouble staying afloat. He noticed all the occupants trying to fight, were suddenly sucked underwater, as if something was pulling them down below. He attempted to grab her other hand, as she managed to gasp and speak out…
"Riley! Please don't let g…!"
But it was too late, as she was sucked below, as Riley shouted in shock, "JHU YAN!"
Suddenly, he too was sucked underneath, as he looked upwards, as some kind of air-pocket or vacuum sucked him down below into darkness. And then… everything went black.
"Yo, more - again!"
"Any - ones?"
The sound of muffled voices began to break Riley from his sleep as his eyes slowly opened. 'I'm either having one of those dreams where you wake up in the dream,' he thought as his vision slowly began to clear, 'Or this is some sort of lab where the captives are experimented on,' he thought as he remembered all the video games he played where he had to break into the laboratories of the bad guys to save captured NPCs.
Riley's vision finally clears as he sees the room he was dumped into. It was a huge observatory of sorts, with an oval domed rooft with no openings or anything above. The room was completely built with white metal as it was bright, and there were even unknown lights lighting the room up. The floor was black and smooth metal of sorts as he slowly lifted his upper body with his arms resting on his elbows and forearms. All over the room were the rest of the students and teachers from the bus all knocked out and naked. Near the center of the room was a large white metal sphere with a black line going horizontally around it in the center of it, that stood out the most in the room, as it was on a cone-shaped white pillar that stood about 14 feet, towering over them. It was as if it was some kind of lighthouse in the room… or something watching over them.
"For an evil lab," Riley said to himself as he sat with his legs crossed, "This is actually kind of nice. All it needs is a sofa, a tv with a game system, and it's all set."
"Ow, my head... Please tell me this nightmare is over."
Riley looked over to see another one of the occupants, though she was unfamiliar to him. She was a young girl about his age, Caucasian with a pale skin complexion, slender and slim figure making her very attractive physically, with a bobcut hairstyle with two long tails going down to her buttocks, and a couple of bangs framing her forehead and face. She had a B-cup chest, slender waist, tight butt, and long sexy legs. Though like everyone else, she was naked. But her hair was colored Icey Blue, as was her eyes. She slowly woke up while holding her head. As she picked herself up as she stood on all fours, she saw the room she was in, and noticed that she was still naked. "Oh... I guess not," she said in disappointment as her voice carried a British cadence or accent.
Riley managed to get in a kneeling position to hide his bare lower front, as he looked away, "Riley Wallace, ma'am."
Realizing she too was naked, she looked away, kneeling as she covered her chest with her left forearm, and buried her hand in her lap in an attempt to hide her lower region, "Um… Claire Strothers. Sorry about this unsightly scene, sir."
"No problem," Riley grumbled. But then he blinked, "Wait. Claire Strothers? How's that…?"
"AAAAAAAHHHH!"
Riley and Claire looked in the direction of the voice to see another person was now awake. It was Masha and she was sitting up right with sweat all over her. She was panting as her eyes darted around the room in fear. "Vhat? Vhere," she said as she began to register what she saw. Including all the naked people in the room. Masha sighed in relief much to the others' surprise, "Oh thank goodness... I thought I was back home in Mother Russia."
'She's actually glad to be here in her birthday suit,' Riley and Claire thought to themselves with confusion on their faces.
"Where are we now," another voice said near the side of the room. It was a young man of eighteen, like Riley and Claire, with Riley's similar build, but he was a young man of Hispanic appearance, as his skin was tanned. His brown hair was in a messy mop style but had four bangs on his front, with one on the right tucked back, and brown eyes. Like Riley, he had a similar build and seemed rather handsome.
"Jaimie? Jaimie Rodriguez," Riley blinked, as he got the guy's attention.
Claire and Masha looked to him, as the latter asked, "You know of vim?"
Riley nodded, as he picked himself, while helping Claire, who looked away blushing at his nudity while he tried to cover himself, "He's in the same class and school as me."
Jaimie who was picking himself up while looking out the window. "What the," he said with confusion in his voice at the sight of the white room they were in, "I don't recognize this structure, nor anything like what we passed when we got um… flushed down here."
Riley looked around and was just as confused as Jamie was, "Me neither. But it looks like something you'd find in Japan or somewhere similar," he said remembering the buildings from manga and anime he watched before, "Maybe the buildings are part of a movie set or something."
"That's possible. Unlikely, but possible."
Riley turned around to see John said as held the side of his head while leaning against the wall for support, "There's no way movie makers would kidnap people, strip them naked, and expect them to act for money when they can use computers for that," John reasoned as he debunked Riley's guess about the outside, "More importantly, we should look for a phone to call for help."
Riley nodded in agreement with John's idea. "Just wish we knew where we were though," Riley said before looking out the window one more time.
"I agree we need to find help," another voice spoke out. Riley and John looked to see another person waking up and joining them. She was a young woman of Asian, possibly Chinese, with pale skin, sharp brown eyes, with light purple hair that was cut in a bobcut but had two small ponytails that dangled down at her shoulder-blades; she had a slender frame, physically an athlete, with abs on her tight waist, strong legs, a tight butt, but had an A cup chest. She walked over and introduced herself, "My name is Hua Xia," but she covered herself, as she blushed from embarrassment, "But can we please find something to wear first? Being trapped is one thing, but naked is too much!"
"Riley Wallace," Riley replied, as he looked away while blushing a little from the embarrassment of seeing a naked girl and being naked with other people, "I vote we call for help first," Riley said, "The faster we find help, the faster we can get to safety, and get dressed."
Xia looked away in embarrassment, "If you say so," she said while the awkward atmosphere made it harder and harder for her to keep calm, "But this still isn't easy!"
"I don't see what the big deal is," another voice said getting everyone's attention.
It was another eighteen year old Caucasian female. She had a slender figure; tight waist, slender legs, clear skin without so much as a blemish on her, and an amazing DD cup chest, well-kept but bouncy flaming red hair that reached her mid back, with two bangs that were draped to her collar bone and almost down her chest, with the front of her hair swept to the left with three bangs draped over her forehead, and dazzling green eyes.
Jaimie and Riley blinked, "Isabelle?"
Xia and Jhu Yan blinked, "Who?"
"You know her," John asked, pointing at her.
"Isabelle Bonibella," Isabelle introduced herself, who was standing up with a slight blush on her face but she looked as though she didn't have an ounce of shame on her face, "I mean, sure we're naked, but it's better than just one of us being naked. Besides, we all know each other, right?"
John arched an eyebrow as he looked to Riley and asked, "She seems pretty calm about all this."
"Don't let her fool you," Riley advised. "She may be cool-headed, but inside she's probably freaking out like all of us."
"We just met today," Xia and Claire exclaimed in annoyance, "And being naked in a strange place isn't helping at all!"
"Well complaining isn't going to help," Jaimie said as he turned away from the windows, "If anything, finding an exit should be our-"
"Hey... Where's Gwen," Riley interrupted Jamie as he noticed that Gwen wasn't in the room with them anymore.
"Gwen," Claire asked.
"His cousin and my class associate," Isabelle replied.
Riley arched an eyebrow, as he stated, "Don't you mean friend?"
"He's right," Jaimie said, "She's not here either."
"Maybe she's somewhere else," John theorized, "I mean, there were hundreds of people in the pool area before. Maybe she was taken somewhere else."
"Hey! Hands OFF!"
Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked towards the doorway where the familiar voice came from. Suddenly, Gwen emerged from the doorway with her back towards the group.
After seeing his cousin there, Riley started to head towards her on instinct, "Gwen? What happened-"
Suddenly, a huge hand emerged from the darkness in the hallway, and attempted to grab Gwen. The orange head dropped down and did a sweep kick sending the hand back into the hallway. A loud impact sound and groan came from the hallway as Gwen shot back up and jumped back into the room.
"Everyone," Gwen shouted, "We have a problem here!"
"What is it," John asked as he, Riley, and Jamie took defensive stances while the girls backed away from the doorway.
"Is it our captive?"
Before anyone could answer, a new face entered the room. He looked Asian, in his 30s or 40s, nude like everyone else, but seemed physically fit, with a few scars here and there, with his black hair touching his shoulders.
He shot an angry glare at the group, "Oy, you got no-where to run," he spoke with a Japanese accent as he approached Gwen, "Just come quietly along with the other two brats and your boyfriends don't get hurt. Hell, I may even give the three a discount if they stand aside."
Riley didn't know what the guy was talking about but every word from the new face made his blood boil, "No deal. Besides, anything you offer wouldn't worth the cash. No matter how little it would cost!"
"Well said," John exclaimed and Jaimie nodded in agreement, "Besides, it's four against one! I think you're the one who should stand down!"
"Heh. I'll engrave those words on your grave kid," the man said, "Not that anyone will remember a couple of fools!" He ran forward towards Gwen, only for John to stand before him to block Gwen. John attempted to throw a punch, but his fist was easily caught by the large man. When it was clear that John had little training, the man pulled him forward, and kicked him hard in the stomach which shot all the air out of John. The man then threw John off to the side as the teen attempted to catch his breath.
Suddenly, Gwen attempted to throw a kick at the man, but he caught it easily as well. "Nice try, but I'm not going to underestimate you again," the man told a glaring Gwen as he lifted her up in the air with a sinister and lustful grin on his face.
"Get your hands off my cousin," Riley yelled as he leapt into the air and delivered a powerful kick to the man's chest. It wasn't enough to knock the air out of the Japanese man, but enough to loosen his grip on Gwen enough for to fall onto the floor, and move away.
"Die, you brat," the man yelled as he charged forward at Riley, but was suddenly grabbed from behind as he felt a grip on his neck. It was Jamie who had snuck behind, leaped on the man's back, and was trying to choke hold him.
"This fighting and whatever you're want to do to Gwen isn't helping anyone here," Jaimie said trying to reason with the main, "We need to get-"
"SHUT UP," the man yelled as he grabbed Jaimie's arm and threw the teen off of him and towards the girls standing away, "The only thing I need are those girls," he said as he approached the girls with angry eyes as the girls backed away in fear at the man's intentions for them.
Before the man could approach them forward, Riley ran behind him and kicked the man's behind the leg. This caused him to fall onto his knee, "What's the matter? You're too weak to fight us but okay with attacking girls who can't fight back!?"
Before the man could counter, Gwen threw another kick to his face which sent him backwards and towards the doorway. "Would you just calm down please," Gwen asked the man in annoyance, "Fighting each other isn't going to get us out of here!"
"I agree."
A new voice came from the doorway causing everyone, including the Japanese man with a nosebleed to look towards the door. All the teens in the room, including a shocked John who was back on his feet saw something that made all of their blood boil, especially Riley's. It was the same Japanese looking girl he was in the previous room with the cloths dissolving water who was held by the new man as he used his left arm to choke hold the girl.
"Which is why all of you are going to stand down," the man said as he tightened his hold on the girl causing her to yelp in pain, "I'd hate to hurt this prize trophy, but I will if any of you cause me and my partner here anymore trouble."
Seeing this, Gwen, Riley, and Jamie knew that the New man meant what he said. The three dropped their guard knowing they couldn't risk the new girl's life while the First Man from before recovered from the kick.
"Now, that's more like it," the first man said as he covered his nose to keep his nose bleed in check, "Kids are always easy to manipulate!" This caused the teens to hate the Japanese Men even more as they stood their ground.
"All right, now that I've established who's in charge here," the New Man exclaimed, "Here's how this is going to work! All of you are going to tell us where we are and how to get out of here!" He then pointed to the remaining girls, "Then the girls are coming with us for insurance! If anyone else follows us, they end up with their throats cut!"
"But we don't know where we are," Jamie exclaimed, "Let alone how we got here or how to leave! We're just as in the dark about this as you!"
"He's right," Gwen said trying to calm the situation on all sides, "What you're doing is unnecessary. Just let the girl go and we can figure this whole thing out."
"You and the other girls aren't allowed to speak," the Japanese Man who was attacked earlier shouted, "Once we leave, all of you women are only good for making money for us at the brothel!"
Everyone became silent as they processed what the Bouncer said. A number of them were now in shock and horror at the Japanese men's plans for the girls. John, Claire, Masha, and Isabelle were confused as the word 'brothel' was something they had never heard of before. John looked over at the others "Hey... What's a brothel," John asked the others in confusion.
"It's... It's a place in Japan where girls have sex for money. Either by choice or by force" Xia explained with a look of dread on her face, "Some girls lose their lives due to unknown circumstances."
Riley was giving the two men a fierce death glare, "There's no way we'd hand over anyone to scum like you two," he yelled in anger, "Now let that girl go right now!"
The girl still held in place by one of the Bouncers saw Riley's fierce look on his face. She recognized him from before and could feel the anger in his eyes directed towards the two men. Before she could say anything, the man holding her tightened his hold on her neck.
"Or what you little shrimp," the first Bouncer asked with sneer on his face, "We're the one holding all the cards here, Shrimp! Now send the women over here else this one dies! That's something a bunch a goodie little kids wouldn't like, right bro?!" The man waited for a response, but didn't receive one, "I said, right bro!?"
'BLAM!'
A loud sound filled the room suddenly and was followed by gasps and screams of horror. The Bouncer looked in confusion at them. But suddenly, the girl that was held hostage ran past him as far away as she could go.
"What- What the hell," the Bouncer exclaimed as he turned to see his comrade, "What are you doing, you idiot!? Why did you-" His face went from frustration to absolute shock at the sight before him.
Behind the Bouncer was the other one... Only his head was gone as his corpse fell over on the floor. There was a blood stain spread on the wall as a paintball hit the wall and exploded. There were bits of teeth, brains, and eyes mixed with the blood stain. More blood leaked out of the neck of the corpse and onto the floor.
The others looked in shock and fear as they were unable to turn away from the sight before them. "What- What just happened," Isabelle exclaimed in fear, "Why did that guy's head explode!?"
"No idea," Jamie answered as he backed away from the corpse, "But... What if... What if we're-"
"WHO THE HELL DID THAT," the bouncer yelled in anger, "TELL ME WHICH ONE OF YOU MONSTERS DID THAT!" Everything about him showed anger and fear mixed together. His eyes were twitching uncontrollable, he was sweating all over, and his entire body was shaking. Whether it was from seeing his friend killed like that or the fear of that happening to him was anyone's guess. "TELL ME RIGHT NOW OR I'M GOING TO-"
"Shut up."
A new voice filled the room. Everyone looked around to find the voice. Before anyone could find it, the remaining Bouncer's head went flying into the air as blood erupted from his neck and turned the ceiling red. In came another Japanese looking man staring at the group with a sinister look on his face as he emitted an evil aura off of him. The head which had been cut clean off by an invisible force landed on the floor with a look of confusion and horror as blood oozed out of the mouth and ears. The corpse collapsed to the side as another part of the floor went from brown to red.
Everyone backed away from the new corpse as far as they could without reaching the black sphere. "Okay, that confirms it," Masha said in between the screams of horror, "Someone else is here."
Before another word could be said, a splashing sound filled the room, and a red boot print appeared on the floor approaching them.
"G-GHOST," John yelled out the first thing that came to mind seeing the boot prints without a source, "There's a ghost in here!"
"Why did guys like these have to be ported here as potential hunters," the voice spoke again getting everyone's attention. "Does Omni just randomly select from the Slime of Humanity for expendable cannon fodder," the voice continued as a new figure appeared before the group from where the red boot prints were on the floor, "Or is this just a messed-up use for the term Warrior Potential?"
Before the group stood, was a young man of nineteen, Caucasian but pale, nineteen years old, but with white hair that was unkempt but was brushed/combed to the right of him, and piercing red eyes with a face that read 'Don't mess with me', and had the same build as Riley. But he was much different than everyone else. He was wearing a skin-tight black suit that went up from head to toe underneath his chin, but also had on dark bruise red/purple armor bits. The armor was located on the sides of his chest down to his hips, his shoulders had diamond-shaped guard with the red/purple trim on it but on the inner part a strange circular protrusion, like a socket of sorts, with bruise red/purple bands around his biceps, and forearm guards and hand guards of the same color with the inside showing off the black material, and the gloves revealing the black gloved fingers, but on the elbow part were three white sockets, with red/purple elbow guards. On his legs were red/purple thigh guards with diamond-shaped kneeguards with the bottom being white, and red/purple greaves that went from his calves to his ankles, of which had white sockets on the outside, but on the outer calf was a white rectangular socket as well. His shoes had red/purple heels, toes, and soles. But his surprising features was that he had a red/purple cloak on, with a katana hilt on his left hip, a strange large pistol that looked like a pop gun on his right, with other strange handled weapons on the rear of his white belt. While strapped to his back was a large rifle and a shotgun-shaped guns, but all were black, while in his hand, he was holding an extra pop gun in his right hand.
"It's a ghost," Claire exclaimed, "He's come to claim our souls!"
"I'm not dead, you paranormal loudmouth," the boy in black exclaimed as he returned his sword to his side, "I was using cloaking technology! And by the way, you're welcome. Not that those two were a big deal."
A gentle whistle of a hum echoed through the room, causing everyone to look at the center of the room, to where the black ball stood atop the curved pillar above them. Suddenly, a blue line glowed horizontally around it, as it came to life. And then to surprise them further, a laser light shot all around it with each light forming a blue screen on all sides, boxing the black orb. The screen then formed two lines spread apart from one another with two bigger lines atop of them, while a bigger line was formed below, making a face of sorts. At that moment, everyone blinked at this bizarre site; those of modern times figured it was some kind of screen icon, while those of the pasts could only either be bewildered or frightened, believing it to be some sort of god.
Then the mini-lines opened up, forming two light blue spheres for eyes. It then smiled, as it spoke, addressing everyone in a greeting from every known language, "Bonjour, Hola, Is Salām 'Alaykum, Aweh, Nǐ hǎo, marhabaan, Wylcome, Hallo, Hej, Kon'nichiwa, and to all those fine Americans and English, just a plain old Hello to all of you newcomer rookies. I know you're all feeling confused, disoriented, and a bit breezy around the giblits exposed. This is normal. And to assure you all, yes you died. But you came back by me, the Omni. To put it simply, you have been given a second chance in life for a purpose." The face then frowned as it looked annoyed, as it groaned, "Don't blow it or it'll blow you back to the Purely Gates or the Gate of Hell." It then reverted back to a smiley face, "And to make a long story short…" the face then looked to the right side of its screen, almost whispering, "…too late.." And then returned to normal, "Your old lives are gone, but now I decide what to do with you new ones. But hey, that's the way the cookie crumbles, when life gives you lemons make lemonade, yada yada yada… " The screens then twirled around as the face smiled with firework icons going around, "LET THE HUNTING AND FIGHTING BEGIN!"
Everyone looked weirded out by all this, as Gwen, who seemed the only one with her head on her shoulders, asked, "Um, what exactly are you talking about?"
The fireworks stopped, as the face frowned annoyed, as he then asked, "Seriously? Did you not get what I just said?"
"I think she's asking what you mean," Riley defended.
The icon groaned, as his eyes rolled back, until he replied, "Okay, let me explain this as best I can. You want to go back home? Then fight whatever I send you guys out to fight. Prove yourself on the battlefield, and live. Refuse, run, or otherwise wimp out… you die. Simple enough?" But nobody, not even the teachers, could ask more, until the Icon replied, "Good. Now here's your target."
The face disappeared, as below the pillar, more blue screens appeared, as it showed a 360 picture of what appeared to be a child-sized monster. The creature was roughly build with the size of a ten-year-old child, green skin with bumps on the shoulders and elbows, gnarly toe and fingernails, with a big nose and ears, and yellow eyes with horizontal slits, and its mouth was full of yellow jagged teeth, and dressed in brown tarp and shawl, with brown bandages on its forearms and feet and holding a crude club and dagger for its weapons.
Afterwards, there was a name appearing atop of it, saying GOBLINITES. And then on the side it read under a list called Characteristics:
Child-like size
Strength in Numbers
Major hornballs
Likes: Killing, mischief, eating people, impregating women
Dislikes: Men, death, spooky stuff
Weaknesses: Same as humans
Everyone was confused on this, even as Riley asked aloud, "What the heck? Is this some kind of weird-ass cosplay creature or something?"
Omni's face reappeared on the screen, as he spoke up again, "Now that you know your target, allow me to show you the gear."
Suddenly, at four points making an X surrounding the pillar, four rows of shelves folded up from the floor, but allowing walkways through them, as everyone blinked as all the occupants saw this. Once the shelves were fully up, around eight feet in height, they locked on the floor as everyone saw what it was they were seeing. On one shelf were pistols and rifles, the same ones that the white-haired guy had. On another shelf, were the shotguns that the white-haired guy had, but also another pistol, but unlike the popgun model, this had a tri-pod shaped barrel folded to look like a T. And on the final shelf were small silver suitcase cases with black handles, and a dark gray nameplate.
Curious, Riley walked over to the cases, as he looked at them. But stopped as he spotted one in particular, and pulled it out. On the nameplate, it read Riley Wallace aka Daytime Lantern. He frowned as he grumbled, "Oh, that's cute." He then knelt down, as he opened it, and blinked, "What the…?"
Gwen walked over, as she knelt down to her cousin and asked, "What is it?"
Riley pulled it out, as he showcased a strange black suit with silver dial knobs on some parts of the suit, coming with gloves and ninja-like shoes with only the main toe shown and the others fused together. "It looks like a cosplay suit," Riley explained.
"Now that all the equipment and gear is out, pick whatever you like to use," the Omni replied, as his main screen was around the white ball again, this time in four screens. "Since you're all new, I'll give you…" and then the screens began to turn red, and a white countdown showed up, revealing 1:00:00 as it was blinking.
"So hurry up and get dressed," the Omni's voice began. "Let the Hunt Begin!"
"I'd put on the suits," the albino guy called out, getting everyone's attention. "It doesn't look like much, but it will protect you."
Despite the countdown flashing, or the fact that everyone was going to have to hunt, they immediately grabbed the suitcases, as the whole class, people, and Riley's group were desperately trying to grab something to wear. It was mostly to avoid nudity or embarrassment, but it made little difference. Suddenly, one of the students, a scrawny African American, flashed in a blue light, disappearing. Suddenly, others began to disappear, as this happened.
As everyone was being teleported to who knows where, Riley didn't hesitate, as he grabbed his suit out of the case. And then pulled it out as he walked over to where Gwen and that guy John stood, and opened the case. Inside, he was a bit surprised to see what he was looking at. It looked to be a full-body black skinsuit that went up to his neck and stopped at the ears to the feet wearing footsie-like sneakers, with black straps on the upper thighs and above the knees. The suit was divided in two to three parts, with the shoes being the first, pants second and the third the upper body with the shoulders as a slip-on piece, and gloves as well. They were all seemingly separate but could be connected together if it seemed possible. And there were white dial-like structures on the suit in different places: the collar bone, under the front of the rib cages, two on the upper hips, two in the pelvic region, one on top of the tail bone, two on each side of the knees and ankles, one atop and two aside the wrists, with a dial on the sides of the lower shoulders, two on the shoulder blades, and six in line with each other on the back of the neck.
Riley looked at it studying it, "I knew it, this is some kind of cosplay outfit. How'd that albino guy think this would protect us?" But he looked down as he remembered his state of lack of dress, and groaned, "Oh well. Better than running with my wang dangling all around." He grabbed the pants as he stood up, and put one leg into the other, slipping on the pants, as he pulled it all the way up to the waist. The pants seemed baggy at first, as he arched an eyebrow, "This suit doesn't look like it fits." He absentmindedly pressed the left pelvic dial, and suddenly the pants shrunk all around to make it skintight, fitting all around his body. He blinked as he felt the material to be a rather comfy constriction; the material felt like spandex but breathed like cotton. Whatever this thing was, it seemed rather fitting and functional.
He then slipped on the shoes, as his toes wiggled in the ninja toe slips, flexing his big toe and the combined other four toe region. He jogged in place, as he blinked, "Huh. This is pretty…"
But then he stopped, as he heard fussing and flitting to break his mind off the suit's advanced fitting. He looked to see the Asian girl's backside, though he tried to avoid looking down to view it. He managed to do so by seeing her face, which was in desperation as she looked at her suit. Deciding to figure out what was going on before he was ported, he tied the shirt around his waist while stuffing the gloves in the tied up shirt like it was a pair of pockets, walked over to her, and got her attention, "Hey."
She jumped a little, as she looked to him, though brought her arms to hide her chest while still holding on to her suit, "Oh. Um. Hi, uh…"
"Sorry, I'm not trying to bug you at all, but…" Riley attempted to assure her.
But Jhu Yan, realizing what he was trying to do, shook her head, as she whipped around to show her front, which was shielded by her suit, and apologized, "Oh no, no. You're not trouble me at all." But she looked embarrassed, "Well, it's just… um…"
Riley blinked, as he asked, "What's wrong?"
She blushed, looking away, as she confessed, "I don't know how to put this type of clothing on."
The awkwardness dissolved with silence, even with others panicking from being ported out of the White Room. Until finally, Riley managed to speak out with only saying, "Huh?"
"In truth, I've never worn anything like this. It's not a kimono or a yukata. It's made of a material I have no idea of," Jhu Yan replied, looking rather fearful. "I fear I might not survive this if I can't put this on."
The boy's instincts were gonna go bananas at this point. Here was a beautiful hot girl, steaming with sexiness before him, naked as the day she was born, but had no idea how to put on a skin suit. If they were alone and if this wasn't a life or death situation, he'd pounce on her and they'd be at it like animals. But he knew better than to do that, even though his hormones were going nuts from being this close to her. But he shook it off, as he spoke up, blushing but assured that he wouldn't do anything to her.
"M-Maybe… I could…"
"Can you help me put this on?" she asked, beating him to the punch.
Riley blinked at that, as he quickly nodded, "Um, yeah, if you're okay with that." But he quickly asked, "You are okay with me helping you, right?"
Jhu Yan blushed, but nodded, "I'm okay with your help. You tried to help me earlier with those brothel thugs."
Riley scratched the back of his head, "Yeah, but not much though."
"But you still helped," she replied, smiling to assure him. He looked to her, as they both smiled, but she quickly went back to the subject at hand, as she cleared her throat, "Um, perhaps we should…"
"Yeah, um, hand me the shirt," Riley started up, as she nodded. "Then I need you to lift your arms up so I can slip this on."
She gave him the shirt part, as she set the shoes and the pants aside. When she held her arms up, he reached up to help her. However, as she leaned in when he began to pull the shirt on, her bare boob chest moshed into his. Both blushed at this action, as both were feeling this skin ship. Luckily, Riley got the shirt down, as it tightened up on her adjusting to her build and size. But both still stood six inches from one another. The feeling that they touched body to body sent a shiver of electricity down both of them, as they blushed and stared at each other. It was almost as if both were daring each other silently to kiss one or the other.
However, Riley managed to snap out of it, as he nodded, "Um, probably should get the pants."
Jhu Yan snapped out of it as well, as she nodded, "Oh! Right." And grabbed her pants and shoes.
Unfortunately, they both felt a tingle sensation, until suddenly the area around the shifted from the White Room, to apparently an unknown location… on the outside. Both looked around to see it was some kind of city, or what was left of it, as it was nothing but ruins. Building barely able to keep themselves from falling or those that had already been destroyed. Jungle and forest slowly taking it back, as some of the buildings were covered in thick green vines with leaves and bushes growing on them. All in all, it looked like something out of a post-apocalyptic game.
However, Riley paled, as he saw that they weren't alone. Standing in front of them, while he and Jhu Yan were still close together, and with her still not wearing her bottom half and him his upper half was John and Masha, who were a bit amused by the scene. Jaimie looking away while trying not to look, Hua Xia stammering and blushing, almost wanting to punch him. And joining her was his cousin Gwen, who was blushing and trying to hold back her embarrassment and mix of rage with it.
A nervous smile grew on his face, as he calmly waved at his cousin and everyone, "Um… hi?"
"Riley... I thought you were better than that," Gwen exclaimed in anger at her half naked cousin, "Just because you died once doesn't mean you can pull a stunt like this!"
"Wait! Hold on, Gwen," Riley said in fear of his cousin's angry side, "I know how this looks but it's not what you think. She was having trouble putting on her suit and I was giving her a hand."
"Then why are you still in front of her like that," Gwen asked seeing that her cousin was still hugging Jhu Yan to his chest while she hugged Riley back.
"So no one sees her privates from the front," Riley answered quickly, "Plus, I'm worried that one wrong move and you'll judo flip me like when we were kids." He then pointed at her, "And besides, you still have your suits in your cases."
Gwen paled at that realization, as she instinctively swatted at Riley with her suitcase, screaming in bloody murder. All the while Masha and John shook their heads as they also had their suits still in their cases, along with everyone else that was still with them, including Isabelle, and Xia who didn't have time to get their suits on.
Before anyone else could say anything, a loud beeping noise caught the attention of the group.
"Uh, anyone want to answer that," Riley asked hoping to change the subject.
"Answer vhat," Masha asked as she looked around in confusion, "Vhat is that sound anyway?"
"I'd say it's someone's cellphone," Gwen said while still glaring at her cousin, "But we lost all our phones along with our clothing."
Everyone, minus Jaimie and Isabelle, looked at Gwen and Riley with confusion on their faces, "What's a cellphone," they all asked at the same time.
The moment those words passed Gwen Riley, and Jaimie's ears; they went bug eyed in silent shock. 'They never heard of a cellphone,' the two of them thought in shock, 'Who are these people!?' Based on their age, these strangers must had heard or seen a cellphone at least once in their lives.
"You're all kidding right," Riley asked them as he looked at Jhu Yan, "I mean, you've seen a cellphone before, right? A small device people use as a telephone and for logging onto the internet."
Jhu Yan continued to look puzzled at Riley's words, "What is this thing you call a telephone," she asked him with curiosity in her voice, "And what is this in-ter-net? Is that some kind of special net for catching fish?"
Riley was left speechless at what this girl was saying. To never have heard of the internet at her age is impossible. Gwen as well was unsure how to process this new bit of information with logic.
Suddenly though, a thought occurred to her as her eyes widen in shock. "Could- Could it be," she said out loud, "Is it possible?" Everyone looked at Gwen wondering what she was talking about. After a moment, Gwen mustered up the courage to ask the one question that she knew had to be asked to solve this mystery. "Everyone... What year is it now," She finally asked.
At first everyone looked confused by Gwen's question as though she was losing her mind. "Dat is easy. It's 1943." Masha was the first to break the silence as she answered.
"What calendar are you looking at," John asked her as he scoffed at the answer, "It's 1983, obviously."
"You're both wrong," Hau Xia said as glared daggers at Riley, "The year is 1998!"
"No, it's not," Jhu-Yan said sounding just as confused as Gwen sounded, "1815." And then looked to Gwen and Riley, as she asked, "Is- Isn't it?"
Gwen, Riley, Isabelle, and Jaimie all stood with shocked expressions at the answers everyone gave them. "Okay, something really crazy is going on," Jaimie finally said breaking the silence, "Because last time I checked, I was on a bus with Riley and Gwen and it was 2019."
"2019," Jhu-Yan said in shock, "Two hundred and four years in the future?!" She suddenly felt her legs give out and was on the verge of collapsing if not for Riley already holding her, "What's happening to us? I don't understand any of this."
Before anyone could ask, the beeping sound grew louder and louder to the point where everyone could tell where it was coming from... The wrist bands of everyone wearing a suit. Suddenly, from the front of the wrist, a blue holographic screen appeared, with a white digital clock chiming the display one hour with an hour, minute, seconds, and mili-seconds. It then began to start counting down.
John blinked at this, as he asked, "What the heck is this?"
"A countdown," Gwen replied. "Though for what, I have no idea."
"And from the looks of it, it's counting down from one hour," Riley obviously deduced.
Masha put hers down, as the display disappeared when she let her hand and wrist down from her display, as she looked to them all, "Vat happens vhen de hour ends?"
"Then it's Game Over."
The eight looked to find appearing from his disappearing act, with his back in front of them, the mysterious white-haired young man. As Jhu Yan was finishing getting fully suited up, Riley walked over to him standing by his side, as he looked at him asking, "What do you mean game over?"
The young man looked at him, and then answered, "Game Over as in the mission will be done." He looked out at the view of the apocalyptic ruins of the city, as he stated, as everyone walked up to join the two, "The Omni gave us the target, and now it's do or die. Either we kill them, or…."
Gwen, looking rather nervous on all of this, and not sure if she could take much more, asked, "Or? Or what? What'll happen?"
"Or they kill us," the young man said.
Everyone looked to one another, not sure of all this or liking the sound of this. But everyone's attention was turned as they saw most of their class, the two teachers, and the bus driver, as well as other people, walking about trying to figure out what was going on. Mostly to find clothing due to their undressed state, or just trying to find a way back home. The only ones who seemed to know what was going on were the eight atop the ledge as they looked over the landscape.
And there the eight, or rather nine, stood. The first of a team of lovable and time-dumped losers. Banding together to become the unstoppable superhuman fighting force that nobody saw coming. Except for… well, everybody.
But don't worry," the Omni said, as his screen showed a devious smiley face, as he spoke up, revealing himself to be the so-called narrator, "There's a way out of this dreck for them. If they live long that is."
"Isn't that a bit harsh?"
The Omni looked down to see who asked that. It was a small half-foot robot with a baby-sized body, with cylinder arms and legs, a small backpack, a smooth square head with a visor on its head like a hat, and two elf-like bunny ear antennaes sticking out. Like the white room, it was colored white with black stripes on the forearms and legs, two stubby black foot toes, four black fingers on small ball hands, and a black screen with only two white ovals for eyes and a white mouth, as he spoke up.
"I mean they haven't started the mission yet, and already you're writing them all off dead," the mini-bot replied, frowning. "I mean, those seven, plus Gale are all wearing the suits. Even though Gale's got more gear and stuff with him, but still, as long as they're wearing the suits, they've got a chance."
"Oh don't worry B.M.," the Omni replied, looking rather smug. "I'm not writing them off yet. It just sounds so much better with a bit of drama in the mix."
As Riley and the others followed the one named Gale, who hopped easily from ledge to broken building block to get down. Though they carefully climbed down to make sure they would be okay, and not fall.
Though it's one thing to wear the suits and get the weapons and gear. Using them… now that's up to them.
As they left, shadows slowly crept up from the area they had stood on. Inhuman shadows, and the sounds of snickering and laughter could be heard from the vocal cords of anything but human.
