[A/N: This is my first Naruto story! I hope I can do this right… I've read tons of em so I decided that I'd make one of my own. I might go up to the great ninja war and maybe even Boruto! Anyways, give me some feedback and stuff so I can get better at this. I'm going to describe the character before the story starts so there won't be any cheesy or garbage description paragraphs taking up space. One last thing, this character will suck when it comes to using ninjutsu. His strength is in his martial arts.
Character name: Mori Komatsu
Hair color/length: Short, kinda spiky, and black.
Eye color: Icy Blue
Chakra Nature: Lightning/Wind
Kekkei Genkai: Shinseigan
This changes the pupil into a yellow 4-point star.
(Gives the user heightened senses and the ability to adapt any martial arts style. Helps fight off genjutsu easier.)
Clan specializes in their extreme senses and outstanding martial arts. Not very good with ninjutsu.
Personality: Impulsive, can be mean at times, loves a good fight, shows compassion to those
who he believes need it and isn't afraid to express himself.

Chapter 1:
"Don't worry son! You'll be able to get a good team! Just make sure you don't cause them any trouble…" A woman in her mid 30's with black hair and icy blue eyes hugs her son.
"A-alright mom! Geez… I'm not a kid anymore, I'm a ninja! I know what to do." He hugs his mother back and straightens his clothes. His outfit consists of a black jumpsuit similar to Lee's with the sleeves ripped off and some gray combat boots. He grabs a red sash and ties it around his waist. "I'm off!"
"Not so fast! You're forgetting your lunch and mommy's kiss!" This makes the young boy blush furiously. He turns around embarrassed and grabs his lunch while his mom kisses his forehead. "There! And don't forget your sensory training! You can help in more ways than you think." She ruffles her son's hair and pushes him out of the door. "Now get outta here you little rascal."
"F-fine…" He rubs his forehead with his forearm and heads straight towards the academy.
"Alright class, today you will be getting split up into teams." Iruka Sensei spoke as kids were listening up for their name to get called. Mori wasn't going to have it. He tunes almost everything out as he closes his eyes and meditates. He doesn't care much for his classmates except for Naruto, Hinata, and Shikamaru. Naruto for his creative pranks, Hinata because of her gentle and docile nature (She was his first friend), and Shikamaru for his cunning strategies and laziness. He hopes to get paired with any of the three but he knows he wouldn't be that lucky. Midway through his meditating, Iruka shouted his name.
"MORI!"
"Ah! Yes, sensei?"
"Since there are no other teams, you'll have to be paired with one that has already been formed."
"Will I at least get a say in the matter?" He tenses up.
"Uhm… I dunno… Hmm…" After thinking for a minute he gives Mori a final answer. "I don't see why not. There is a team you won't be able to join though."
"Okay… Which one is it?"
"Ino, Shikamaru, and Choji."
"Don't know much about those three but darn. I was hoping to get a team with Shikamaru, Naruto, or Hinata. Could you point me in the right direction?"
"Uh, sure. Naruto got paired up with Sakura and Sasuke." This makes Mori slap himself in the face. "Assuming you don't care much for the other two?"
"He got the short end of the stick… Damn crazy fangirl and that weird emo. I feel bad for him but I'm not willing to make that sacrifice. Who did Hinata get paired up with?"
"Language!" He tries to clock Mori on the top of his head, but he dodges.
"Alright sensei, geez. Just get on with it."
"Ehem! She's with Shino and Kiba."
"Tch! That gross, smelly dog-boy and the weird bug creep…" He takes a moment to think about it and decides he needs more clarification. "Who are their senseis?"
"I believe Naruto's squad leader is Kakashi Hatake, a man full of mystery. Hinata's team leader is Kurenai Yuhi, a masterful genjutsu specialist. I know you love mysteries but will you be willing to give up on learning genjutsu? I mean you are a sensory type so I'd suggest-"
"Ah whatever! I can pick for myself, besides you know I can't really use ninjutsu or genjutsu that well.. That Sasuke kid's an Uchiha. They specialize in foretelling the opponent's movement and they have powerful outbursts if they undergo extreme emotions. Not really my style… Although the thought of fighting someone like that is getting my blood pumping. I know a great opportunity when I see one..."
"I see someone's done their homework."
"Oh please sensei… My family owns a library so of course, I'd know these things." He quickly finishes up his judgment of the two teams.
"The Hyuga is great at hand to hand and can see chakra points and a full 360 degrees all around them, but having multiple people to scout is overdoing it. As much as I don't want to, I want Naruto's team. I think his team could use my sensing abilities. Hinata's team should be fine since they have a scout-like ninja there already." His words were true but to be honest, he just didn't want to deal with the bullshit of Kiba, considering he used to bully him.
"Well, I see. They should be on the roof getting through introductions."
"Alright, thanks sensei. I'm off!" Before taking a single step, Iruka grabs his arm. "What now?"
"You're forgetting your headband." Mori curses under his breath and then thanks his sensei for reminding him.
The young boy makes it to the roof and finds an agitated Naruto and his team including their, and his, new sensei.
"There's a new face. Are you perhaps the extra kid?" Kakashi asks the boy with a stern glare.
"Yes. I am the fourth member of your team. Iruka Sensei said that we were doing introductions today?"
"Yes, we are. Well, we were. You're late, and everyone else has already finished. Just say your name, first and last, some things you like and dislike, and your goals."
"Understood… Don't see the reason why though." Mori clears his throat.
"It's more for me than it is for you." Kakashi gives them all an eye smile.
"Fine. My name is Mori Komatsu. My likes are meditating, random brawling, practicing martial arts, eating food, and tomboys." He gets cut off by Naruto's snickering. Sasuke gives a weird look and Sakura does the same.
"You like tomboys? Freaking weirdo!" Naruto continues to laugh.
"Damnit Naruto! Let me finish!" He clocks Naruto on the head to shut him up. This makes Sasuke scoff and Sakura laughs at Naruto's pain.
"Ahem!" The Jonin clears his throat and gets everyone's attention. "While that was unexpected, please continue… I've got things to do…" Even though this was starting to get interesting, he wants to finish his book of Make-Out Paradise.
"Yeah. My dislikes are being interrupted by slackers and idiots, stupid fan-girls that can't get anything done, and edgy emos." He makes sure to take a good long look at each of his teammates, waiting after each dislike to make eye contact with them.
"WHAT?!" Naruto shouts, getting ready to fight one of his only friends.
"HUH?" Sakura follows suit with Naruto, ready to pummel Mori.
"Tch." Sasuke just scowls.
Kakashi has a sweat mark go down the side of his face.
"My goal is to become the strongest martial artist this world has ever seen… I will do so without that filthy Eight Gates technique…" He takes a glance at Sasuke, who looks back at him. "And I'll do it without being some privileged, snotty brat that needs to hold the Hokage's hand…"
"What was that?" Sasuke was fed up at this point. He can't just let this guy talk about him like this. "How about you come and say that to my face!"
"Now now kids, it isn't that serious. Mori, you and I need to talk. The rest of you are welcome to leave and meet me tomorrow, and remember, don't eat breakfast." Kakashi gets the other three to leave and focuses on Mori.
"What do you want Cyclops?" Mori folds his arms and taps his foot on the ground.
"Whoa there! Are you always like this? I just wanted to let you know that we are all meeting at the training grounds for tomorrow's assessment." Kakashi waves his hands in front of himself to not seem threatening.
"Okay? That it? I gotta go think about other stuff." He stretches and cracks his neck, waiting to get back to his home so he can work on his fighting stances.
"One more thing." The boy's sensei gives him a serious expression. "Don't make your team your enemy. You need to know when not to say certain things. You shouldn't tease others with things out of their control."
"Fine! You sound like my mom..." Mori knows what's right and what's wrong. He just chooses to do whatever gets him into a good fight. Even though he didn't mean what he said about the others, he still wants them to have a reason for fighting him. What his sensei just told him made him feel a little bad for Sasuke's situation though.
"Okay, see you tomorrow." Kakashi vanished then and there.
"oKaY, SeE YOu tOmORroW. All he cares about is that stupid book!" Mori starts to walk home.
Next Morning
"YAWN!" Mori wakes up and scratches his back. "Geez, that was rough… I wish I had more sleep, but I should really get ready for today…" He slouches around the house, completing his everyday tasks before taking care of his hygiene. Afterward, he makes himself some toast and a glass of water. His mom wakes up and gives him an extremely tight hug and wishes him luck before sending him to his training early with a bag of apples.
"Have a great day son!"
"T-thanks mom… You too."
He gets to the training ground only for there to be no one except for the Uchiha he dissed yesterday. Mori thinks about apologizing to the boy, meanwhile, the one in question is giving a deep glare.
"Hey." Mori decides to act before anything gets out of hand.
"The hell do you want?" Sasuke is close to putting this guy in his place. He's still angry about what was said yesterday.
"Hold on just a second. I'm just saying hey! Besides, if I wanted to talk shit again I wouldn't have started with hey… I wanted to apologize for what I said yesterday." He knows it won't be that easy for someone to just be forgiven after something like that but he still holds on to hope.
"Really? Is that all? Like I'd let-"
"Now you listen! I didn't ask for all that! I just want to know if you accept my apology. Don't give me some crap about not caring because I know for a fact that you do." Sasuke was now silent. He was about to say something before being cut off by Mori.
"Forget it. I'll just give you some time… Here." He tosses Sasuke an apple from his bag. "You look like crap… I'm assuming you took that no breakfast thing Cyclops said to heart?" The Uchiha looks at him in disbelief. "I know, I know… I rock. You should eat that before that one-eyed weirdo gets here. It's never good to work on an empty tank."
A few moments pass and there is a quiet sound coming from the boy in blue. If he wasn't a Komatsu clan member then he wouldn't have caught it.
"You're welcome." Mori gives Sasuke a thumbs up as he looks in shock.
'How the hell did he hear me? That was barely even a whisper!' Sasuke doesn't know much about the Komatsu clan, as they went nearly extinct in the times before the first Hokage. He has to admit that this kid is pretty weird.
"So, when do you think the others will get here? I mean it is still really early. You wanna spar so we can be warmed up for today?"
"Hmm? Oh, uh… sure I guess?" Sasuke seems highly unsure about what he just agreed to but wasn't opposed to the idea of getting extra practice. After all, he wants to be at the top of his game so that he can avenge his clan. "Do you always act like that?"
"Hmm? Act like what? I just do whatever and see what happens…" Mori shrugs and gets into his clan's basic stance for fighting Uchiha and closes his eyes. Sasuke gets in position as well but stops to question his teammate.
"Why are your eyes closed? You should never underestimate your opponent."
"I see… You must not have your Sharingan yet. My clan has, well had, higher senses so it isn't uncommon to fight without sight. I mean, it is just me and my mother so I don't think we can call it a clan but whatever you know?" He reveals more about himself to the young Uchiha as they begin sparing. Quickly, Sasuke realizes that the two have more in common than they thought. He begins opening himself as well. This continues until the other two members arrive.
Mori shares his apples with the rest and apologizes for his actions the day prior.
"So… What happened to not eating?" Their sensei showed up with a book in his hand similar to yesterday.
"Well, you were late as hell so I decided to share my food with them to make up for yesterday. Besides, not eating sucks. I know you've eaten today so why not let everyone else? Plus, that was hours ago. When do we start your damn thing?" Mori, being the person he is, rudely speaks to his sensei.
"Right now actually. I've got 3 bells and whoever doesn't have one by 2 doesn't get lunch. Also, you fail and I send you back to the academy." He keeps his expressionless face the entire time.
"Harsh… I like it!" Everyone else looks at the boy in the black jumpsuit with a multitude of expressions, save for Sasuke whom he opened up to.
"Well if there are no questions, you may start." The Jonin continues to read his book as the kids stare at him.
"I'll make the first move!" Mori jumps into action. "Hey, Sasuke! Cover me!" Sasuke nods then begins to throw kunai and shuriken at the adult. "Not like that! With more power!" The white-haired man easily dodges the small projectiles while Mori presses onward. "You aren't getting off that easy!" He lunges towards the man with extremely fast punches and kicks, much faster than he was expecting but he was still a kid so all his attacks miss as the grown man adjusts himself.
'Wow. There's a lot of skill behind each of his hits… He might be the most promising one on this team. I wonder what kind of jutsu he's capable of.' He tries to trip the young boy but he dodges and backflips away.
"Hey guys, you wanna start doing that thing I told you?" Mori already had a plan just in case something like this were to happen. "Sakura now!" She pulls a rope that triggers a trap and Naruto begins making clones to gang up on Kakashi. 'Perfect! Everything's going according to plan!'
"Wow, I'm impressed that you all could work so diligently together." The man gives an eye smile but fails to notice the smoke bombs going off.
"Now!" Mori guides Sasuke to grab all the bells off of their sensei. He then jingles them signifying that they received them.
"Good work you four, but who's not getting lunch and going back to the academy?" This was his final test.
"What? I thought we got the bells though?" Naruto shouts at the white-haired man furiously.
"Yes, but I said that whoever didn't have one would have to go back to the academy."
"Hold on cyclops, you just said we all needed one right?" Mori questions the man.
"That's right."
"Well, I see four bells. So no one has to go back to the academy." Sasuke made a clone of one of the bells so that everyone would have one.
"But- wait a second… I only had three and I meant-"
"Nu-uh! You said that whoever didn't have a bell would go back. You never said they had to be yours." Mori smiles triumphantly while Kakashi looks impressed with everything.
'This might be more fun than I thought…' "Well, kids… You all pass. You've shown me that you can work together perfectly, but I must ask who came up with the idea? Sasuke or Sakura?" He wasn't going to expect what he was about to hear.
"Actually, Mori and Naruto came up with the idea." Sasuke reveals to him.
"Hell yeah Mori! We showed him what for!" Naruto slaps his friend on the back.
"We sure did! How about some ramen later to celebrate?"
"Of course!"
"Those two are in their own little world aren't they?" Kakashi says to himself. Sasuke just smiles at the energetic duo while Sakura creepily stalks him.
Well, that's chapter one guys… I hope it was good ;-;
I'm still trying to come up with what kind of things I could do to change the story. I don't want to change too much though because I like a large sum of Naruto how it is. Next chapter will start after the battle with Haku. Well, leave a review!
