Prompt: " do you have any better ideas? because trust me, i'm all ears! i don't want to do this! but we're literally out of options! "
Izuku's POV
Night air was cold on his exposed skin as he ran across the rooftops. He was in a black bunny hoodie that clung to him. Under normal circumstances it wouldnt have been clinging to him but the sweat caused it too. His black pants were ripped in several places from his most recent fight. Beside him in a similar get up was Hitoshi keeping with him stride for stride.
The two boys were vigilantes for the poor of Musutafu. At only eleven years old the two had been at this for just over a year. In that time they had been chased by a handful of underground heroes mainly Eraserhead. Out of the police department only Detective Tsukauchi seemed to care about bringing them in unharmed.
Both men regularly tried to convince them to turn themselves in. Once they had been caught in Eraserhead's capture scarf. It was what started the man in trying to get them to cooperate. Hitoshi used his quirk on Eraser to help them get away. It was then that the heroes learned that answering any questions from them was dangerous.
Not that either the boys cared what the adults thought of them. Adults were nothing but liars. All they wanted was to hurt kids like them. Hitoshi was abandoned by his parents for his quirk. Izuku's mother had been killed by quirkist revolutionsit.
Quirkist were everywhere including their orphanage. It was why they ran away from the orphanage. No one cared to look for a kid with a villain's quirk and a quirkless kid. The adults of the orphanage saw the two as nothing more than a burden.
Supposedly they both had uncles that wanted to take them in. Neither boy wanted anything to do with their supposed family.
Izuku tapped his right leg suddenly indicating that they needed to drop to street level. Both boys dropped onto street level trying to escape their pursuer. The two ran through the alley with Eraser hot on their heels.
As they approached the alleyway entrance two shadows ran out in front of Izuku and Hitoshi. Unable to stop in time both boys tripped over the cats. This allowed Eraser to catch up and launch his capture scarf.
Izuku was the first to be wrapped up by the scarf. Followed swiftly by Hitoshi. Both boys struggled against the scarf trying to get free. Hitoshi tried to get Eraser to answer a question. However the hero had learned from his previous mistake.
Black eyes flashed red and his hair lifted into the air as Eraser ordered, "Stop both of you. You've played a good game but it's over."
Izuku snarled, "Never!"
He heard the man sigh tiredly above him and watched as the man's quirk deactivated. Izuku shifted trying to get to his pellets inside his jacket. Unfortunately with the way he was tied up he couldnt get to them.
Then the two boys were dragged unwillingly out onto the streets. Waiting for them was a familiar plain looking detective. Tsukauchi the detective that chased them for over a year.
Tsukauchi greeted with a tired smile, "Well done, Eraser. Finally after over a year of chasing Siren and Rabbit they are finally in custody."
Dark eyes looked over the two vigilantes who glared back. A sigh escaped the detective before he motioned Eraser to follow him. They were put in the back of a police car.
The trip to the police station was made in absolute silence. When they arrived they were stripped of their hoodies and pat down for weapons. It had been amusing to see the surprise in the police and hero's eyes to see how young they were. With the hoodies gone so were most of their tricks and chaotic items.
Izuku almost missed the way Tsukauchi and Eraser shared a look. It was as if they knew something the kids didnt. They were placed in quirk restraint handcuffs. Then they were taken to an interrogation room.
Once they were alone Hitoshi whispered, "What are we going to do now? They have our faces and description. It wont take them very long to figure out who we are."
Izuku growled wordlessly as he moved towards the door. They had been left alone in room for the moment. He hoped that no one was watching them from the otherside of the glass. Otherwise he wouldn't have enough time to pick the lock.
Hitoshi questioned carefully, "Do you really think you can pick the lock?"
"I'm going to try," Izuku answered pulling out a pair of bobbypins.
As he was about to try and pick the locks the door opened. Startled Izuku fell back looking up. Tsukauchi stood there in front of him with an eyebrow raised. In his hands were two decently sized files. Izuku jumped back entering a defensive stance.
Tsukauchi pinched the bridge of his nose with his free hand. He ordered as he moved aside to allow Eraserhead inside, "Sit back down, kid."
Izuku bared his teeth angrily at the man but when Eraserhead shifted his attention to him. He grudgingly did as he was told. He sat back down in the chair next to Hitoshi.
Both Tsukauchi and Eraserhead sat in front of them. Their backs were to the door and eyes set on the two vigilantes. Neither set spoke instead just stared at each other.
Tsukauchi was the first to speak up, "Izuku Midoriya better known as the vigilante Rabbit. Shinsou Hitoshi better known as the vigilante Siren," both boys flinched at the use of their real names.
Tsukauchi continued noting the flinches, "You both are orphans according to the police files. Shinsou you were given up by your parents because of your quirk. Midoriya you were orphaned after your mother was killed by a quirkist group because of your quirklessness."
Izuku growled low in his throat sounding more like a rabid animal than a person. Eraser merely raised an unimpressed eyebrow at him. They had gotten so far in their run. An entire year as vigilantes. Most wouldnt make it more than a week or two.
Tsukauchi said flipping through the file his face unreadable, "It says here that you both ran away within a few days of being left at the orphanage. Did you know that you both have uncles who were willing to take you in?"
"Your point?" sassed Shinsou.
They didnt care that they had uncles that wanted to take them in. Adults couldnt be trusted to take care of them. The only one's that could be trusted were themselves.
"Do you know who your uncles are?" Questioned Eraserhead.
Izuku snarked back, "Does it matter? Adults aren't trustworthy."
Tsukauchi smiled gently, "Aizawa Shouta is your uncle Shinsou."
"Is that name supposed to mean something to me?"
Eraserhead pulled out his id from his wallet and slid it across the table. Both boys looked at it their eyes widening in surprise. Pro Hero Eraserhead, real name Aizawa Shouta.
"Your my uncle?"
Eraserhead nodded. Well then Shinsou was lucky. Out of all the heroes that chased them he seemed to care the most. He wanted them to be safe even though he didnt know them.
Tsukauchi continued drawing Izuku's attention, "Inko Midoriya was formerly Inko Tsukauchi. Our parents were killed in a plane crash when she was 16 and I was 18. The courts refused my appeal to get custody and she went into the system. Due to this she wouldnt speak to me for years. I was briefly allowed to meet you when you were born Izuku. However Inko wouldnt allow me to continue to visit. When she died I was heartbroken and it took almost two weeks for the courts to give me custody over you. By that time you had disappeared. I've searched for you long and hard ever since."
Izuku blinked. What the actual fuck? How was this man his uncle? He was expecting a lot of things but not this. Never this. What was going to happen now?
Tsukauchi said after a moment, "Police Chief Tsuragamae is willing to offer you both a deal. In exchange for this not going on your records you will help with quirk analysis. Yes Izuku I know that you're a skilled analyst. You both will be staying with us and as long as you dont participate in anymore vigilante activities you will be allowed to go to hero school."
Izuku and Hitoshi exchanged a glance. That had always been their dream. To become real life heroes licensed and all. Izuku was technically not a vigilante and couldnt be charged as such. No quirk, no vigilantism.
Eraserhead said after a moment of silence, "We will leave and let you to talk about this."
With that both men left the room and Izuku slammed his hands on the table in front of them. Frustration had built all the way to its boiling point. What the hell were they supposed to do now?
"Izuku..."
"We have to get out of here," interrupted the greenette, "They say they are our uncles but they are adults. Adults cant be trusted."
"How do you expect to do that Izuku? They have us locked in a police station. All of our gear is locked up and they are no doubt watching us."
Izuku growled, "We can get new gear. It wouldnt take much to get new hoodies and I can make more pellets. We cant trust them. All adults have ever done is hurt us."
"Do you have any better ideas? Because trust me, I'm all ears! I don't want to do this! But we're literally out of options!"
Izuku snapped back, "Anything is better than just letting them manipulate us into giving up," then his anger drained from him, "I dont want to lose you, Toshi."
"You wont lose me, Zuku," Hitoshi replied his shoulders slumping.
They maneuvered so that Izuku was leaning against his brother in all but blood. All they could do for now for now was wait. No matter what happened they would not be separated.
