A/N: hello everyone! This is my first actual story I've ever written. Please take note that I am only an 11-year-old girl so my writing will not be superb at the beginning but please give my story a chance and please offer some feedback that will help me write better. I will try to update every week or so, but I can't guarantee anything. I apologize for that.

I don't own the Harry Potter universe (oh how I wish) or its characters. That all belongs to J.K Rowling. I've played around with the plot and can only take credit for my OC's and their first two years at Hogwarts. Enjoy the read.

The little girl held her breath as she slipped into her parents' room while they were attending to her screaming 3-year-old brother. She felt bad about terrifying her brother like that, but she was too curious about where her parents kept disappearing to. She tiptoed over to her father's secret spot and fished out his invisibility cloak. She threw it over herself just as her brother stopped screaming and her parent's came in. "what happened to Draco, Cissa?" asked her father. "I don't know Lucius" her mum replied. "we don't have time to figure it out. The dark lord does not like it when we're late."

The 5-year-old girl tilted her head at her parents. She had heard of the 'dark lord' from eavesdropping on her mum, dad and aunt but she did not know who this lord was. Her mum walked closer to her wardrobe to pick out her outfit and the girl tensed but the older woman did not see her feet sticking out of the invisibility cloak. The girl got out of her parents' room and ran to her own room. Her aunt Bella had taught her how to control and use her 'accidental' magic and she had found that she could do extraordinary things. Right now, she conjured an illusion so that it looked like she was asleep in bed when in reality, she was following her parents. She heard the back door open and close, so she hurried out on to the manor grounds where her mum and dad were preparing to dissaprate. She latched on to the corner of her mum's robes with the invisibility cloak on and apparated away.

She looked around and saw that she was in a room with an amazingly long table and that witches and wizards were apparating all over the place. When one wizard nearly appeared on top of her, she decided she had to hide even with the invisibility cloak on. Her well trained eyes searched the room and landed on the rafters on the ceiling. She used her magic to make the floor under her bouncy and jumped, grabbing on to one of the rafters. She shimmied across the wooden bars until she reached an intersection where she could lie down comfortably.

From here she could see the entire table and she saw, with a shock, that her aunt Bellatrix was seated right next to the head of the table along with Severus Snape. Her parents were sitting further back with a man that had yellow teeth and long dirty fingernails. At the head of the table, in a throne like chair, sat a funny looking man with red eyes and no nose. He also had no hair and long white fingers which were stroking a giant snake coiled next to him. She did not know him but thought that he must be the dark lord everyone was so obsessed with. This theory was confirmed when Bellatrix said, "my lord, you summoned us here?" "Indeed, I did," said the man in a high, cold, snakelike voice. "we all know of the prophecy and the boy it refers to. The potters have used the Fidelius Charm and have foolishly made wormtail the secret keeper."

There was a great deal of sniggers at that and the girl up in the rafters cocked her head curiously. This prophecy had also been mentioned by her family along with the potter boy who was apparently destined to kill the dark lord. "today I shall go to the potter home and murder this baby while he can do nothing to defend himself" the snakelike man was speaking again. The young girl was shocked. This person could talk about killing an innocent child like it was something amusing. Judging by the looks on some of the others faces, they were thinking the same.

There was silence for a few moments in which the snake uncoiled herself and slithered around the room. The man started giving orders to several people, but the girl was intently watching the snake, which was now making its way up to the rafters. Please don't come here please don't come here. The girl prayed but the snake crept closer and closer until it was centimeters away. The girls fear was chased away by the sheer beauty of the snake. She carefully inched her and closer and gently stroked the snake's back. The snake, who everyone called Nagini, let out a hiss of pleasure and the girl smiled at it. Arianna Malfoy looked down at the funny man who was now talking about the potter boy again and frowned. Why did this person act so indifferent towards other's death? Why did he not care? She looked at "the dark lord" in pity, wondering what had happened to turn him so inhuman. Why did he become a dark lord in the first place? Why?

A/N: Hope you enjoyed the prologue. I would appreciate comments and constructive criticism a lot. Thank you so much for giving me a chance. The next update will be tomorrow or the day after (probably). Thanks again, bye!
