Chapter 1

Kittycorn's Birthday

Several years had passed since Unikitty and Puppycorn became the king and queen of the Unikingdom. Throughout the years, Unikitty and Puppycorn happily ruled over the kingdom as they watched over and cared for their adopted daughter, Kittycorn.

After years of living at the orphanage, Kittycorn was happy to finally be a part of a family. One special day, Unikitty, Puppycorn, and the rest of the citizens were busy making preparations for Kittycorn's 11th birthday. The citizens set up all kinds of decorations. There were balloons and streamers of multiple colors, dozens of presents for Kittycorn, and a banner that read, 'Happy Birthday, Kittycorn.' With most of the decorations set up, Unikitty and Puppycorn walked outside, happy with how well everything was going so far.

"Wow! This party looks so awesome!" Puppycorn was impressed by the decorations.

"It sure does, little bro!" Unikitty agreed. "I know that Kittycorn is going to love her birthday party. I can't believe how much she is growing up. It felt like just yesterday when we adopted her!"

"I know what you mean, sis! She is growing up so fast!" Puppycorn smiled before he held onto Unikitty's paw.

As Unikitty and Puppycorn reminisced on the day they adopted Kittycorn, the siblings took notice of Hawkodile helping Dr. Fox walk outside.

"Hi, guys!" Unikitty cheerfully greeted her friends.

"How are you feeling today, Dr. Fox?" Puppycorn asked.

"Oh, you know. The same." Dr. Fox gave a weak smile. "Being pregnant isn't easy, but it would all be worth it once my child is born. Aren't you excited, Hawkodile?"

Hawkodile gave a nod. "I sure am! I'm very excited to see what our child is going to be like, Dr. Fox."

"Puppycorn and I are just so happy for you guys!" Unikitty smiled.

"Thanks, Queen Unikitty! Now, come on, Dr. Fox. Let's find you a place to sit down." Hawkodile lead his wife to the nearest seat.

More and more of the citizens arrived at Kittycorn's party until the last two guests arrived.

"Brock, why did you drag me all the way here? Doesn't Kittycorn have enough guests for her party already?" Master Frown complained.

"Come on, man! This would mean a lot to Kittycorn. Besides, I promise that I will take you out on a date later tonight." Brock told his husband.

With a roll of his eyes Master Frown replied, "Fine. Let's just make this quick. I don't want us to socialize with anyone here. Especially not-"

Master Frown was soon interrupted as Unikitty and Puppycorn showed up and said, "Hi, Master Frown! Hi, Brock!" in unison.

"Them." Master Frown finished his sentence with a sigh.

"Thanks for coming over to Kittycorn's party! We really appreciate it!" Unikitty thanked.

"No problem! Thanks for inviting us, Unikitty!" Brock replied with a smile. "This looks like an amazing party! I'm sure that Kittycorn is going to love it!"

"Unikitty and I would know that she would enjoy her party too, Brock. Kittycorn loved the birthday parties we've thrown for her for the past 5 years." Puppycorn explained.

"So, where is Kittycorn anyway?" Master Frown asked.

"She's at her usual spot at the park." Unikitty answered. "Kittycorn should be back any moment, so we'd better get ready for when she arrives."

Meanwhile, Kittycorn was sitting on a bench as she was super excited for her birthday party today. She could only imagine how fun her party was going to be, considering how much of a big deal her adoptive parents were making out of it the day before.

"Oh my gosh! I can't wait to find out what mom and dad have done for my party this year!" Kittycorn let out a squeal of delight. "This could be my best birthday ever!"

After a few moments of waiting, Kittycorn took notice of various balloons floating from the castle. This caused Kittycorn to gasp in surprise.

"Are they ready for me now? I just have to find out what's going on!"

Not wanting to wait another minute, Kittycorn rushed over to the castle as fast as she could. However, the princess didn't watch where she was going and ended up running into someone. Once she recovered from her tumble, Kittycorn adjusted her pink bow back on her horn.

"Ugh. What happened?" Kittycorn wondered to herself.

It was at that moment when Kittycorn noticed a girl in front of her. The mysterious girl looked like she was around Kittycorn's age. She wore a cloak and had light-blue hair that was so long, it covered one of her eyes. As she first laid eyes on the girl, Kittycorn couldn't help but think that she looked kind of cute. Once she got back up, Kittycorn decided to speak to the girl.

"Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't see where I was going! Are you okay?" Kittycorn asked.

Instead of speaking, the girl gave a simple nod.

"Well, that's good! I was worried for a moment." Kittycorn breathed a sigh of relief.

Soon, the girl shyly looked away from the princess, as if she was too nervous to talk to Kittycorn. Kittycorn noticed it, so she tried to make the girl feel more comfortable.

"Hey, it's okay! You don't need to feel nervous! I get along with pretty much everyone in the kingdom!" Kittycorn said with a twirl. As Kittycorn said that, her bow fell off her horn. "Oops!"

It was at that moment when a smile formed across the girl's face as she couldn't help but giggle.

Once she put her bow back on her horn, Kittycorn smiled back. "Well, I'm glad that you are smiling now! My name is Kittycorn, by the way! What's your name?"

"I'm Master Shyness." the girl spoke in a soft quiet voice, but it was still clear enough for Kittycorn to understand.

Kittycorn was glad that the girl was finally comfortable enough to speak with her. "It's nice to meet you, Master Shyness! Can I call you Shy, for short?"

"Um, sure!" the girl replied as she was surprised by how cheerful Kittycorn was. "So, are you always this happy and cheerful, Kittycorn?"

Kittycorn nodded in response. "Yep! I guess that's what happens when I'm the princess of the Unikingdom!"

Hearing this caused Shy to gasp in surprise. She had no idea that she was speaking with royalty the whole time.

"Wait! Are you telling me that you are Queen Unikitty and King Puppycorn's daughter?" Shy asked in surprise.

"Not exactly. Queen Unikitty and King Puppycorn adopted me 5 years ago." Kittycorn explained. "I have been the princess of the Unikingdom ever since then."

Shy gave an understanding nod. "It must be nice living in the Unikingdom. I have lived in Frown Town my whole life, and it is not exactly the best place to live."

Despite not visiting Frown Town too often, Kittycorn understood why Shy doesn't like that place.

"I know, right? Frown Town really needs rainbows and sunshine! Then everyone could be happy!"

Shy couldn't help but give a smile as she and Kittycorn laughed in unison. It was at that moment when Kittycorn took notice of the balloons once more and remembered why she was running in the first place.

"Oh, right! I have to rush over to my birthday party." Kittycorn remembered. "Hey, Shy! Do you think you would like to come with me to my party? I think my family would be happy to meet you!"

"Sure! I think I would like that!" Shy smiled.

Not wanting to be late, Kittycorn led Shy to the castle. It wasn't long before Kittycorn finally made it to the party and she took notice of everyone in the kingdom ready to surprise her.

"Happy Birthday, Kittycorn!" everyone cheered in unison.

With a squeal of delight, Kittycorn rushed over to the party before she hugged both of her adoptive parents.

"Oh, my gosh! Thank you so much! This party is amazing!"

"We knew you would love it, Kittycorn!" It warmed Unikitty's heart to see her adopted daughter so happy.

"Unikitty and I wanted to give you the best birthday ever! By the way, who is your friend?" Puppycorn asked, noticing Shy for the first time.

"Oh, right! Mom. Dad. I would like you to meet my friend, Master Shyness. I call her Shy for short." Kittycorn introduced her friend.

With a few nervous steps forward, Shy looked at the two rulers in the eye before she replied, "Hello."

Despite how friendly Shy was, Richard stared at her in suspicion as he noticed the cloak that she was wearing.

"Wait a minute. Her name is Master Shyness? You are a doom lord, aren't you?" Richard asked, to which Shy gave a simple nod.

"Now, don't be rude, Richard!" Unikitty told her adviser. "Doom lord or not, Shy is our guest, and we should make her feel welcome to the kingdom! Anyway, it is nice to meet you, Shy, and we hope that you have a wonderful time at the party."

As Unikitty, Puppycorn, and Richard turned to officially start the party, Kittycorn and Shy walked passed everyone.

"I don't think that floating guy likes me too much." Shy spoke up.

"Oh, don't worry about Richard! He is just not used to seeing new faces in the kingdom. For now, let's just spend time together, we can play some party games if you want!" Kittycorn suggested.

Soon, Shy stared at Kittycorn as if she was talking in a completely different language. "Party games?"

Kittycorn nodded. "Yeah! Do you ever play games at your birthday parties?"

"No. My birthday parties are usually simple and non eventful. What are your birthdays like?" Shy asked, curious.

"They are really fun. My parents come up with the best parties. Here, let me show you around!"

Before Shy could react, Kittycorn grabbed her hand to show her around the party. As Kittycorn was showing her around, Shy couldn't help but smile. She was so happy that she got to make a new friend.

AN: So, that's the end of the first chapter of my new Unikitty fanfic. Here, I introduced my new OC, Master Shyness, who I am setting up to be Kittycorn's girlfriend. While I'm still going to include some Unikitty x Puppycorn moments throughout the story, I'm mostly going to focus the story on the Kittycorn x Shy ship. Anyway, I hope you are enjoying the story so far, and I would soon work on writing the second chapter.
