Hi everyone, this story is basically a new adventure for Ray and Bob, they will have to go through a lot, but I am trying to focus on their bond so I guess it'll have action and angst. The first chapter is a little slow maybe boring but is my way of giving it context and introduction.
Thank you!
Two years have passed since the defeat of The Choten and although he ran away to the creature realm nothing has been known about him since then.
So, everything could be described as fine for Ray, if we talk about supernatural stuff, but life is never easy for a sixteen year old boy, especially the chosen one.
Ray was having a hard time dealing with his strict father, while Ken was having a hard time dealing with his rebellious son. Lately the Okamoto house could be described as unpleasant due to Ray and Ken's constant fights, specially the last few days since Rays's mom was out of town; apparently tonight was no exception.
Ray was on the living room of his house playing video games when his dad appeared from down the hallway.
"You should consider using your free time in more productive matters Raiden" Said Ken as he made his way to the kitchen. Ray was pissed once more, why was his dad always into his back? So of course as any hot head teenager Ray answered in a not very polite tone to his father.
"I have consider it dad, but decided to follow my 'laziness' in the end"
"Watch your tone boy"
"Or what? You're gonna keep grounding me? Go ahead I don't care anymore!"
"Enough! You will show me respect, like it or not this is my house Raiden" Said Ken raising his voice and coming closer to his son, which made Ray instinctively stepp back. He knew his father wouldn't hurt him but after everything he did as Saguru, he was still subconsciously a little aware around him when they had a fight. This action didn't pass unnoticed by Ken, so he sighed and with a hurt look. "Just go to your room Raiden" However, as he was about to retire to his room too, he wasn't prepared for what his son said next.
"Typical of you dad, just hide from the problems"
Ken stood there shocked for a few seconds as he saw Ray turning around and leaving to his room, but before his brain could process anything, words were already leaving his mouth "I can't believe my own son is such a disappointment"
To say Ray was hurt was an understatement, and Ken knew the stupidity of his words immediately and regreated them too. "Raiden I'm so..." He began but Ray cut him off "Forget it, I just want to sleep" He said as he continued down the hallway.
Ray laid down in his bed looking at the ceiling for al least an hour, thinking how things have gone to shit the past year. What did he expected? After he saved his dad from the mutation everything was fine for a while but as Ken started to adapt to normal life again he also started to take his roll as a father, and of course for Ray who was just getting to know his long lost father, was having a hard time adapting to him too. Obviously he doesn't regret anything, he loves his father profoundly, but it is still hard. Of course the fact that they're both stubborn doesn't help either.
After another ten minutes of angering himself to death, Ray decided to go out for a walk. He put on a red hoodie and quietly got out of his room.
His grandfather was already sleep when the fight took place and Ray was almost sure his dad was too by now, it was pretty late after all, so he silently sneaked out.
He ended up in the park where he saw two familiar faces. Sykes and Nickels, luckily Carny wasn't with them, although that didn't make their presence any pleasant either. The two idiots were sitting under a tree drinking their asses off. Ray decided he wasn't in the mood to deal with them so he kept walking hoping he hadn't been spotted, unfortunately the universe wasn't on his side tonight.
"Hey Okamoto! Is that you?" Said Sykes. Ray fastened his pace trying to evoid the situation but it was futile, before he knew they were both tumbling in front of him with sloppy smiles and vodka bottles in hand.
"It is him!" Said Nickels
"Leave me alone guys I don't want any trouble" Said Ray in his calm tone although he was about to really lose it.
"Chill out Ray! We're friends right? Come have a drink!" Said Sykes offering the bottle to him.
"Friends? Ok, it's official this guys are drunk as hell" Thought Ray while he looked at their new 'friends' trying to stand up for five minutes without falling.
"I think I'll pass guys, but thanks anyways" Said Ray rising his hands in a gesture of denying while he tried to continue his pad, but a hand on his shoulder stopped him.
" Come on now Ray, don't be such a killjoy, just take a sip, it'll fun" Sykes teased
"I could use some fun" Ray thought joking to himself. He wasn't actually considering it of course, but he was considering the possibles ways of rejecting those idiots without getting their aggressive drunk side out. "I'm sorry guys but my parents would kill me. I better go"
"Please Okamoto just one sip and we'll leave you alone" Insisted Nickels . Ray looked at him and sighed defeated. What's the point anyway? One sip is no big deal and the sooner he drinks it the sooner he goes back to his 'lovely' home. "Okay give me the bottle" Said Ray with his expecting hand.
"Finally" Responded both idiots in unison. He handed the bottle to Ray who hesitantly took it.
Ray looked at the bottle thinking how angry would his parents be if they find out, "they would be disappointed" He thought sadly, but then he remembered his dad's words "well I'm already a disappointment to him so I should make honor to his beliefs" "Fuck it" He said out loud and before he knew it he took more than one drink.
Next thing Ray knew he was waking up under the same tree really dizzy. "Awesome, I got really drunk" He thought before looking around for Sykes and Nickels to find a lonely park. "Of course they left me, they probably woke up and went home, I should do the same" He checked his phone and his eyes widened, it was 3:14 in the freaking morning. Fortunately there were no missing calls, which meant his dad hadn't noticed his absence. Not willing to push his luck he hurried back home.
While Ray walked passed an alley he felt his senses slowly coming back. He was overwhelmed by his actions and his current relationship with his dad, he thought how much he wished he could be flying with Bob right now. "Bob...what are you doing right now? Would it be rude to summon you wasted, at ass o'clock in the morning just to hang out? Probably..." Ray sighed, but his thoughts were interrupted by a voice coming out of the alley he just passed, one that froze him.
"Well hello Raiden" Said the awfully calm and familiar voice. Ray turned around shocked just to find The Choten coming out of the shadows.
"Choten?" Was all Ray managed to say with a surprised expression, before recovering and acquiring an angry look.
"What is it boy? Afraid of ghosts?"
To be continued...
Thank you for reading! Any thoughts?
