Found this in my old story notes from when I first started writing fanfic just for myself. Enjoy!
It had glowing eyes and no timidity. It was heavy. And it didn't seem like it was going anywhere soon. It curled into a solid ball of fur and slumped on his chest, vibrating softly.
"What is it, Master?"
"The creature I want you to look after while your wound is healing. Careful not to upset it. I want it well taken care of. Also, it has claws," Qui Gon added as an afterthought. He left with a slight spring in his step.
Obi Wan waited for a minute until Qui Gon's steps faded, and inched up so that he could slip out from under the creature and get to the data access center in the wall. He could rest and conduct full research for their next mission at the same time. He shouldn't just be lying here uselessly.
Sharpness dug into his chest through the blanket, and he found himself blinking into the large, glowing eyes of the creature. He tried to reach out to the living force within it, to show it that he only meant to move it from its perch, but it made a low, guttural, displeased noise from the back of its throat, and radiated back pure resistance.
"I get it! You don't want to move," he said hastily. He lay back against the sleep couch.
The needles against his skin became all soft, warm weight again, the lamp like eyes closed, and the creature's furry chin rested on his collarbone. It started vibrating again, and soon its breath took on the long, slow rhythm of sleep. Obi Wan didn't dare move an inch. What if he damaged it? He couldn't say he felt too comfortable about the prospect of something this temperamental having claws this close to his jugular either. But at the same time he found his breath matching the slow rhythm of the creature's. His eyes drifted shut.

Tahl cocked an ear toward Qui Gon over the hologram he was perusing. "Oh! It's you. I thought you would be tied up all day keeping Obi Wan in bed."
Qui Gon smiled mysteriously.
