FunFact: The events occur when they start their third year in U.A.
They were coming back from the gamma gym but Bakugou was walking faster than usual; he was feeling really tired and wanted to get a shower as quickly as possible. It has already been a couple of weeks, thanks to the break, without training so much with Kirishima, in addition to that, he saw him nervous and tense since he had asked him to go with him to the gym that afternoon. "He is acting very strange... and he hasn't said anything to me yet, has he forgotten?" He didn't want to ask him anything while they were outside; Bakugou was waiting for them to be alone in the quietness of his room to do so.
They crossed into the hallway to get to the dorms and Kirishima quickly stopped in front of him. He took his hand, interlocked his fingers tightly and began running with him towards the door, opening it with a bang, leaving his classmates shocked until they realized that Bakugou was also under the frame with a raised eyebrow and crossing his arms in front of his chest.
"SURPRISE!" Yelled everyone present, stopping what they were doing. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BAKUGOU-KUN!"
"What is this supposed to be?" Bakugou asked, looking around before taking a longer, more intense look at his boyfriend.
"Happy Birthday!" Kirishima exclaimed excitedly, with that expression on his face that indicated that he was waiting to know what he was actually thinking.
"Really?" He murmured, almost giving up, walking toward the crowd gathered in the middle of the courtyard. "Thanks, I guess."
"Let's eat," Denki said, bringing the empty plates from the kitchen. "I'm starving!"
"This explains a lot things." Kirishima pulled him to the corner of the table where the empty plates were, asked him what he wanted to eat; hinting that he would serve him his food. Bakugou still tried to take the plate out of his hands or, grab another one and serve him but his boyfriend didn't let him, claiming that he was the birthday boy and that he just wanted to see him smile.
He looked at the containers with various culinary delicacies. He watched Todoroki fill his plate to the top with noodles. "Will there be a day that half and half eat anything other than soba?" He was surprised when he saw Sato helping himself with a rather strange mixture of legumes. "At least not everything he eats is sweet." He shook his head when his gaze stopped on a saucer that he would be recognize wherever he was; his eyes were diverted to those of his boyfriend, giving him a sideways glance and seeing him smile coquettishly, confirming what he thought in the beginning.
"How did you come to prepare it without me realizing it?" He asked, moving closer to him and tilting his head a little.
"I have my ways," he replied, shrugging his shoulders and winking at him.
"Then you should know very well what I want to eat." Bakugou looked around to see if anyone was watching. "At least for now," he gestured silently; he saw Kirishima straighten up as much as he could, but keeping his head down to hide the blush that covered his face.
His partner served him a spoonful of the chicken dish and handed it to him; he seemed to expect that Bakugou would just take the plate but instead, what he did was folding his arms and shake his head, making him understand that he should put a little more of the food on it. Bakugou smiled momentarily behind his boyfriend's back, a strange happiness growing inside him when he understood Kirishima's spoiling plan.
"Hey, and what are you going to eat?" he asked, grabbing his plate and taking a short step back to give his boyfriend a bit more space.
"There are some pieces of meat with a white sauce that look very good," he murmured, reaching up to the container, pulling it closer to where they were. "Protein!"
"You and your masculine things," Bakugou said, standing next to him, brushing his arm as he wanted to rest his plate on the table, "must be why you're so gay."
"Let's eat," Kirishima murmured, laughing before taking him from the wrist that was closest to him and leading the way to the only remaining empty sofa in the common area.
Bakugou stared at his boyfriend for a moment, before tasting his spicy chicken, keeping his gaze fixed on Kirishima's red eyes; he knew immediately that he had actually been the one who had prepared it.
Each one of his classmates was eating a little bit of each thing. "These extras give their all for a party... We just started school a couple of days ago and everyone here is enjoying gatherings in the middle of the week."
He wouldn't accept it out loud but he had been thrilled to see them all together to celebrate his birthday. "It must have been Eijirou who gave them the idea... or maybe the nerd, he thinks about these things too."
"Hey, Bakugou!" He heard someone say his name behind his back.
"What do you want, ears?" He answered, turning his head and meeting a pair of black eyes too delineated for his liking.
"I'm going to put on some music," she asked, wrapping a finger around her right wiry ear, "anything special?"
"You know, the usual," he said, returning to his starting position to end the short conversation; he could hear Jirou's snort over his head.
He felt someone sitting next to him, on the only empty seat of the couch. He recognized the vibrant green hair and didn't have to wait long to hear him mumble a little louder than usual, about their friendship, about what a great hero he would be when they were graduated, about how amazing his new special moves were, and how fantastic he was, and about how happy it made him to be able to continue studying with him.
He had long since gotten used to Deku's mutterings but that didn't make them any less infuriating. He glanced at him, noticed his nearly empty plate, and decided that he had found a way to shut him up for a moment. He grabbed the last bite of the chicken and popped it into Midoriya's mouth, enjoying the immediate silence until he heard him complain about what he had done as he fanned into his mouth. "It's more than obvious that the nerd has very little resistance to spicy food."
He got up from the sofa, followed by Kirishima, who was looking at him with wide eyes and apologized to Deku on his behalf when Todoroki arrived at his side, who was dedicatedly watching him with narrowed eyes for what he had done to his boyfriend. "How can he keep up this much with the nerd?" He left his plate on the pile that was beginning to form in the corner of the table and was intercepted by Mina, pulling him to a chair next to a group of boxes.
"Open them," she told him; she seemed to be about to jump with excitement.
He watched everyone settle around so they could see him but someone was missing. "And Eijirou?" Mina shook both of her hands in front of his eyes, drawing his attention; she was still smiling too gleefully for his liking. "Maybe he just went to the bathroom, he will come soon."
He opened the presents one by one, turning his head from time to time, trying to find his boyfriend. A mixture of annoyance and worry began to build inside him when he finished with the presents and realized that it had been more than fifteen minutes since he had sat in the middle of the room and lost sight of him. "Where are you Kirishima?"
"He went, he climbed the stairs a while ago," Todoroki murmured, surprisingly understanding what was going through his mind.
Bakugou ran up the stairs to the fourth floor, as if his life depended on it, jumping three steps with each movement. He saw red in front of his eyes when he reached the door of his boyfriend's room, he almost knocked it down but found no one there. Without even thinking for a second, he came out and took the pair of strides that separated him from his own room, kicked the half-open door and turned on the lights.
He began to breathe easy when he saw him sitting in the middle of the room but there was a little problem: Kirishima was hiding something; he had both arms to his back and was watching him with the biggest smile he had ever seen.
"Eijirou, what are you doing?" He questioned, closing the door behind him.
"Happy birthday, Kat!" He murmured, getting up off the ground; he kept hiding something.
"And what is that?" Bakugou asked, pointing towards him.
He craned his neck and stood on his tiptoes, questioning what his boyfriend was doing. "Why is him moving so much? I'm already here... show it to me at once, damn." He ended up approaching him to have a better look. Kirishima raised a hand in the air, indicating him to stop trying to find out what was behind him.
"Kat…," Kirishima's eyes brightened, "I know you're not the biggest fan of cuteness and it stresses you out that everyone could see your sweet side, but…"
"What did you buy, Ei?" Bakugou took a deep breath.
"I know today is your birthday but soon we will be celebrating one year of dating…," Kirishima bit his lower lip nervously, "well," he swallowed and took out what he had hidden, "I love you very much, Katsuki!"
A light brown plushy was in front of him, it seemed to be some kind of puppy. Bakugou was surprised but, more than that, his gift seemed sweet and funny at the same time.
"Angry pomeranian," he sighed, stretching an arm toward the soft object, "you were the first one to call me that and I kind of got used to you repeating it so much."
"Do you like it?" Kirishima's eyes were glassy; he was holding back the tears.
"Come here." Bakugou took the stuffed animal with one hand and with the other hugged his boyfriend's waist. "What do you think?" He whispered in his ear.
"Happy birthday, my Angy Pomeranian!" Kirishima murmured, wrapping him in a tight hug.
Bakugou pulled away from him a little and held his face with the hand that had previously been around his waist.
"I love you," he whispered, almost over his lips, kissing him just as he finished the sentence.
Kirishima treasured those sweetly romantic moments that he shared with Bakugou; he didn't care how few there were, he adored each and every one of them.
The End!
