Sharon was excited for the annual LAPD softball game. She'd hoped the added exercise would help the pent up frustration she was feeling.
Unfortunately Sharon knew she'd be the last pick for a player. She was every year. She'd been the only one from Internal Affairs to even show up for the past few year. Her team had been afraid the officers would harm them. Not Sharon Raydor. She could take what ever they gave her.
At least she had thought. This was the first year Lieutenant Andy Flynn had been captain of his own team. Sharon been the first pick by Lieutenant Flynn for a player.
"Me?" Sharon asked surprised.
"Yes," he smiled. Sharon walked over to stand beside him. Andy leaned down and whispered in her ear. "Your my secret weapon."
"How so?" Sharon chose to ignore the shiver that ran over her at the feel of his breath on her ear.
"I watched you last year," He shrugged then straighten to make his next pick. "You're good at this game. It also helps that they're afraid of you."
Sharon knew exactly what he was talking about. Since she'd just been promoted to head of FID Sharon had personally arrested more dirty cops then IA had in the last year or created laws that resulted in the arrests.
"I guess that does help." Sharon smiled.
The game started and Sharon felt a ball of nervous in her stomach.
Andy's plan had backfired. The opposing team was determined to get her out causing her to play hard for every home run she ran.
By the end of the game Sharon was on first base. Her team mate hit the ball and she took off. Rounding second. The player in front of her started to stop in third.
"Oh no you don't!" Sharon yelled. "You keep running!"
The player took off again. Sharon was in his heels. The other team was headed for her. She probably should have stopped on fourth but when the player In front of her ran home. Sharon ran for it too.
"Ruuunn!" Andy cheered her on to home.
Sharon sled into home just as the ball made it.
"Safe!" The ref announce. "Flynn's team wins the game."
Sharon stood and dusted off her pants. She jogged to the dugout away from the celebration. Andy caught her when she came into the dugout. Sharon was thankful the rest of the players were on the field celebrating because when his arms wrapped around her his mouth covered hers.
Sharon couldn't suppress the moan coming from her throat. This encouraged him to deepen the kiss.
"Is that how you always treat your players?" Sharon pulled from his arms in need for air and smiled. "Or just the women."
"So far just you." He leaned in again. "I felt a little spark there."
"You wish, Lieutenant." Sharon laughed stepping back from him.
"Great Job, Captain." Detective Gabriel came running into the dugout.
"Thank you," Sharon grabbed a bottle of water while Gabriel gave her a high-five. "But it was a team effort."
"No," Andy shook his head patting her back. "You ran and hit more home runs then anyone else on this team. This was your win, Captain. Dinner is on me."
"Dinner?" Sharon's eyes met his.
"For the team." He grinned. "Pizza."
"So where was your fearless leader today?" Sharon asked during dinner. "I haven't gotten the opportunity to meet her yet."
"She's on her honeymoon, Ma'am." Sanchez answered placing a piece of pizza on her plate.
"Thank you." Sharon gave him a slight nod.
"Now that's something I'd like to see." Andy grinned. "The two of you in the same room. Like oil and water."
"More like fire and ice." Provenza spoke up.
"I'm sure we're not that different." Sharon smiled.
"Oh you're different." Gabriel assured before biting into his pizza.
Sharon enjoyed the company at dinner with their jokes and stories. She looked at her watch and realized it was getting late.
"I should get going." Sharon folded her napkin and placed it in her plate. She stood and waved to the table. "Thanks for the pizza."
"I'll walk you out." Andy stood with her.
Sharon started to object but she felt his hand on the small of her back. For some reason since he'd kissed her his hand was always on her. On her back like now, on her leg during dinner, or brushing his hand across hers when they walked side by side.
Andy took her hand as they walked out of the pizza palace. He pulled her over into a dark corner and his lips found hers again.
This time it was Sharon who tilted her head to deepen it. His hand went into her hair as he backed her against the side of the building.
Sharon was lost in his kiss. Lost in his touch. The world felt like it stood still as they made out on the side of the building. One of his hands found its way under her shirt caressing the skin on her side.
"What is it about you?" He whispered against her lips. "One kiss and I can't get enough."
The world came back into focus.
"Now you've gone and ruined it." Sharon smiled pushing him back. "If you'd have just kept kissing me I wouldn't have thought about the fact that this is against the rules."
"We can pretend I never said anything." Andy tried to kiss her again, but Sharon put her hand up in front of her.
"This was fun, Lieutenant." Sharon squared her shoulders. "Have a good night."
"How about you come home with me to make sure of that?" He caught her from behind pulling her against him.
"Sorry," She stepped out of his arms and waved him good bye. "Not tonight, Lieutenant."
Sharon wasn't sure what had just happened. They didn't even like each other but he'd picked her first, kissed her when they won, invited her to dinner, and kissed her again. The strange thing is his mouth on hers seemed to belong there. She blamed it on her pent up sexual frustration she'd had lately.
"What's with you and Raydor?" Provenza asked Andy as soon as he came back to the table. "Wipe that goofy grin off your face. Don't tell me you're trying to get into her pants."
"Isn't she a little old for you, Lieutenant?" Sanchez laughed. "At least for your usual type."
"She's not so bad." Andy shrugged trying to suppress his smile. "She played good today."
"Don't change the subject." Provenza pressed. "What's with you two?"
"Nothing." Andy shook his head. "I got caught up in the win earlier and I kissed her."
"And just now?" Provenza asked wanting more information.
"I might have kissed her again." Andy smiled not looking at the men at his table but instead at his plate. "No big deal."
"No big deal?" Provenza fumed. "She's Internal Affairs. Not just that but she's their leader. The head rat."
"Isn't it against the rules for an IA officer to date an LAPD officer?" Gabriel asked.
"It is." Tao nodded in confirmation.
"We're not dating." Andy frowned. "And there aren't many rules I've haven't bent."
"So you are going to pursue her." Provenza slammed his drink down on the table
"He won't get anywhere." Sanchez chimed in. "She'll never give him the chance."
"Wanna bet?" Andy was growing angry by the conversation.
"She has been separated from her husband for a while now." Tao reminded them. "She's probably been like a nun the whole time."
"Okay," Sanchez pulled out a twenty. "Twenty bucks says you can't get into her pants by next week."
"I'll get into her pants by the end of the night for forty." Andy stood. "Who's with Sanchez?"
Everyone else at the table handed Sanchez forty dollars a piece except for Gabriel and Tao.
"I'm not in the middle of this." Gabriel held his hand up in surrender.
"I've seen you with the ladies." Tao handed Andy his forty. "You have a special charm."
"Never going to happen." Provenza slapped his forty in Sanchez's hand.
Sharon opened the door to her condo. She toed off her shoes and headed to take a cold shower in hopes of cooling herself down. She'd kept a vibrator tucked away hidden in an old makeup bag in the back of the bathroom drawer. She tried to use it in the shower but it seemed to not work it's usual magic. Even closing her eyes and pretending it was Andy didn't help.
"Damn it." Sharon cursed turning off the water.
Sharon dried the vibrator and placed it back where she got it. She pulled on a night gown and climbed into bed.
She laid there wide awake. Her body in need of something. She felt hot so she pulled her night gown off. She lived alone. She could sleep naked if she wanted to.
Someone rang her door bell just as her head hit the pillow.
"Who the hell is here at this time of night?" Sharon asked herself climbing out of bed. She switched on a lamp and grabbed her robe on the way out of the room pulling it on as she walked down the hallway. She tied it tight around her waste before she jerked the door open. The object of her fantasies stood at her door. "Andy what are you . . . ?"
Sharon was silenced when he grabbed her and covered her mouth with his. She heard the door slam but didn't process it until her back was against it. One hand in her hair while the other gripped her hip.
Sharon felt like she was in a fog. Had she fallen asleep that fast and was dreaming? Or was he really here? At this point she didn't really care. Andy's tongue was in her mouth and she was loving every second of it.
Sharon lifted his tee shirt over his head. He only allowed his mouth to be moved from hers for that split second. Then it was back on hers.
His body pressed hers against the door. Sharon could feel him hardening against her.
Sharon reached for his jeans. Andy took the hint and toed his shoes off for her. He kicked them out of the way. He barely gave her enough room between them to maneuver his jeans. Once they were unbuttoned her hand reached inside. Sharon's hand circled him.
Andy moaned against her lips. He moved from them down to her neck. His hands went in search of the belt tying her robe closed.
Once he got it untied, Andy slipped the hand that was once in her hair into the robe. She felt him smile against her skin.
She pushed his pants down his legs. Andy stepped out of them when they pooled at his ankles.
Sharon brought his lips back to her and wrapped her arms around his neck holding him there. She moved from the door backing him into her living room.
There she pushed him onto the couch. Without a word she straddled his lap. She took him into her hand and positioned him at her entrance.
Sharon sank down on him slowly giving her time to adjust. She gripped his shoulders with all her might. There was pain even though she'd been ready for him, but once she was fully seated and began to move the pain was replaced with pleasure.
Andy moved his lips back to her neck. He pushed her robe from her shoulders. Letting it fall to the floor. His lips moved to the newly exposed skin. His hands played with her breast. His thumbs caressed her nipples.
Sharon could feel her orgasm brewing as she moved. His hands went from her breast down her ribs then rested on her hips. He thrusted up into her while she rode him.
His lips caught hers again. Sharon moved her hands from his shoulders to wrap her arms around his neck.
Sharon fell over the edge first. His name moaned against his lips. He followed shortly digging his fingers into her hips.
Andy pulled her against his chest. He pulled the throw off the couch and placed it around her shoulders. He then wrapped his arms tight around her burying his face against her neck.
"Why did you come here?" Sharon whispered having mixed feelings about what they'd just done.
"Honestly? I thought you'd slap me," He whispered against her neck. "And knock some sense into me."
"I should have." She set up to look at him. "This is wrong in so many ways."
"Doesn't feel like it." Andy shrugged.
"I'm married to someone you once called a friend." Sharon reminded him of the days he and Jack hung out. "And it's against LAPD policy for an IA officer to fraternize with and LAPD officer."
"You probably wrote that rule." He smiled running his hands up her ribs. "You could have stopped this from happening, you know? But you felt the fire too."
"Well," Sharon moved off his lap. She tossed the throw onto her couch and gathered her robe off of the floor. She pulled it on in jerky motions "The fire is out. You can go home and pretend this never happened."
"Never happened?" Andy stood in front of her. "I can't do that."
"Andy, you can't tell anyone." She suddenly felt shy so she looked away. She could hear him pulling his pants on. "It will cost us our jobs. Our reputations. You might not care about yours but I do mine."
"I'm not going to tell anyone." He laughed. "I want to keep you my dirty little secret."
"Your dirty little secret?" Sharon kept her back to him. "Let's just leave this for what it was. A one time thing."
"I hear you." His voice was at her ear.
"Do you?" She turned around.
"I do." Andy looked from her eyes to her lips. "I hear you."
"Okay." Sharon slightly nodded.
"Goodnight, Captain." Andy whispered bending down and catching her lips with his.
He backed her against the desk behind her. Her hands gripped the desk to keep from dragging him into her bedroom. As fast as he was there, he was gone. Sharon groaned at the loss of warmth against hers. She opened her eyes to find Andy walking out of the door.
Sharon walked into the break room the next morning to get herself coffee. The coffee pot was empty so Sharon stepped into the supply closet to get a filter.
"Damn no coffee." Sharon heard Sanchez in the break room she was about to walk out of the closet when his next words hit her. "I wonder if Flynn got the deed done or she slammed the door in his face."
"He's still wearing that goofy grin on his face." Provenza's voice grumbled. "Grab a filter out of the closet."
Sharon hide behind one of the shelves when Sanchez came in. He didn't even look around just grabbed the filter and was out.
"Did you see Flynn this morning?" Gabriel asked walking into the break room. "I think he might have won your bet."
"I think so too." Tao's voice added into the mix. "He's in an oddly good mood for someone who didn't get laid last night."
Sharon felt like she was going to be sick. She should have know Andy Flynn wasn't really interested in her. She was just a conquests for him. A bet.
"What are you all talking about?" Andy's voice made her blood run cold.
"You and the Captain." Gabriel informed him.
"So?" Provenza asked. "Did you get in her pants or not."
Sharon felt her stomach drop.
"You and Sanchez were right." Andy sighed. "She slammed the door in my face."
"Then what's with the goofy grin?" Provenza questioned.
"The waitress gave me her number and I ended up at her house last night."
"Coffee's done." Sanchez announced.
Sharon could hear the coffee pouring into mugs.
"Flynn you coming?" Provenza asked as their voices faded from the break room.
"Y'all go ahead." She heard Andy say. "I'll be there in a few minutes."
Sharon heard the break room door shut.
"The coast is clear." Andy stuck his head into the closet.
"How did you know I was in here?" Sharon asked stepping out from behind the shelf.
"I recognized your mug." He smiled. "Why are you hiding in the closet ease dropping on our conversation?"
"I was getting a filter." She held up the filter in her hand. She looked at the once again empty coffee pot with irritation. She began making a new pot. "Then I heard them talking about us."
"I'm sorry about that." He scooped coffee grounds into the filter she replaced.
"So that's why you really came over last night?" She kept her voice a whisper while she filled the pot up with water. "To win a bet?"
"Yes," Andy ran his hand through his hair then shook his head. "No, that's not the only reason."
"What other reason can there be?" Sharon shrugged finishing the prep for the coffee. She pressed the button to start the brew then turned to face him crossing her arms. "You knew I was in here so you didn't tell them, but as soon as you go back to Major Crimes you'll collect your money."
"No I won't." Andy shook his head and stepped closer pinning her between him and the counter. "I know what the rumors are about me. Yes, I can be a pig of a man, but I can also be a gentleman."
"You don't know the meaning of the word." She rolled her eyes. "A gentleman doesn't make bets about getting into a woman's pants."
"That was the pig in me." He smiled tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Not telling them was the gentleman in me."
"But you're going to." She focused on his tie to not focus on his lips.
"I'm not, I promise." He whispered and leaned down capturing her lips.
"We have to stop this." Sharon whispered against his lips, but her arms circled his neck. "If anyone catches us . . ."
Andy covered her mouth again. Sharon pushed him towards the supply closet and locked the door behind them.
Andy pinned her back against it. His mouth moved to her neck. His hands unbuttoned her shirt exposing her breast in a black lace bra.
Sharon felt like she was in a fog again. Like the world stood still every time he kissed her. Her body tingling at his every touch. She needed more.
Sharon reached for his pants. She had them around his ankles in no time while his hands pulled her skirt up her thighs.
Andy's hand slipped between her legs and he groaned against her neck.
"You're already wet." He whispered.
"Shut up." Sharon scolded him. "Or we're not doing this."
Andy lifted her against the door. Her legs wrapped around his waist. He moved her panties aside and entered her slowly.
Sharon muffled her moan agains his shoulder. Andy kissed along the swell of her breast while her body adjust to him. His mouth moved to suck on her nipple through the lace of her bra.
His mouth moved from her breast when he started to thrust gently into her. Sharon wrapped her arms around his shoulders to hold on.
Andy's hand gripped her ass. His thrust quickened. Sharon buried her face against her arms when her orgasm took over.
Andy rode it out before he let his go. His thrust became jerky until he stilled spilling into her. His arms wrapped around her holding her against him until their breaths evened and he slipped out of her.
Andy helped her back onto her feet. Her legs were still shaky from the release she'd just had.
Andy held her close kissing along her jaw making his way to her lips. There he kissed her. Slow, deep, and passionate.
"What is it about you?" He asked the question he'd asked her last night. "You're more addictive then any alcohol."
"I don't know," Sharon pulled from his arms to straighten her skirt. "But we can't do this again."
"You keep saying that." Andy smiled pulling his pants back into place. "But you're the one who pushed me in here."
"I know." Sharon started to feel overwhelmed. She covered her face with her hand while her eyes filled with tears. "I don't know what's wrong with me."
"Hey," Andy took her hands from her face and pulled her against him. "There isn't anything wrong with you."
"You drive me crazy." Sharon whispered against his neck. "Just a kiss or touch and my judgment is impaired. I turn into a different person."
"I feel the same way." He agreed running his hands soothingly down her back. "So what do we do about it."
"Nothing." Sharon pulled away from him and squared her shoulders. She wiped her tears from her face. "We ignore it."
"I can try." He shrugged.
"Okay then." Sharon reached for the door handle but Andy stopped her from opening it. She narrowed her eyes at him. "Lieutenant . . ."
Sharon stopped when he turned her to face him and began buttoning her blouse.
"You can't walk out of here looking that sexy," He whispered. "And ask me to ignore you."
"Thank you." Sharon blushed.
"You're welcome." He finished the last button. "Oh one more thing."
Andy pulled her against him and began tucking her shirt into her skirt. He started from the front then moved tucking it all the way around. When he reached the back his hand moved deeper into her skirt then needed. It cupped her ass pushing her against him. She could feel him getting hard again.
"Sharon," Andy whispered her name in her ear before kissing along her neck. "This is going to be harder on me then when I quit drinking."
"I'm sorry." She pulled back. It took all she had to step out of his arms. "It has to be this way. We have to go back to hating each other."
"You're going to have to make me." He sighed. "Make me hate you."
"This little stunt just got you two weeks of sensitivity training," Sharon smoothed down her skirt. "And a course in sexual harassment."
"You're serious?" He frowned.
"The complaint will be on your Provenza's desk by lunch." Sharon opened the door before he could stop her.
She didn't stop for coffee or her mug. She needed to get as far away from him as fast as possible.
Sharon avoided the break room from then on. She brought her own coffee from home until she was able to convince the Chief that IA needed their own break room for safety reasons.
She avoided any cases involving Major Crimes until one night their cases crossed.
