Making her way into the back garden of her parents' house, she's instantly greeted by the squeal of her two-year-old nephew as he throws himself into her arms causing her to smile.
'Hi, tiger. You'd think I'd been away forever, it's only been a month!' She says lifting him into her arms and kissing the top of his head as she hugs him tightly.
'A month is a long time to him when he's seen you near enough every day for the past two years... I didn't know you were getting back today?' Marie says.
'Neither did we. Your dad would have picked you up if you had let us know.' Grace replies.
'We got home yesterday but we wanted to surprise you.' Georgie says smiling as she feels his hand rest on her lower back.
'How was it? Was it just the most romantic place? What was the place you were staying like?' Lulu asks.
'Oh it was just perfect. Everything I dreamt of and more. Our little place was just amazing. Waking up and looking out the window at the sea every morning was like heaven, wasn't it. They made so much effort as well.' Georgie replies.
'I'd ask what you guys got up to but I don't think I even want to know.' Marie says.
'Do yous want a drink? We've got wine, prosecco, beers?' Max asks.
'It's your favourite wine as well, Georgie.' Marie says holding up her glass.
'I'll just have a water but he'll have a beer, thanks.' Georgie replies causing her entire family turn to stare at her as she sighs before glancing over her shoulder at him. He nods his head and she takes a deep breath.
'It's really early days. Like really, really early so you're not allowed to get excited and you're not allowed to tell anyone. In fact we're not even going to speak about it, okay?' She says.
'Oh my... Oh guys, how exciting! Congratulations. When did you find out? How early is it?' Marie asks as everyone instantly moves to hug the couple.
'I took a test this morning. We kinda suspected it while we were in the Maldives but I didn't want to ruin our honeymoon if the test came back negative so I waited until we were home to take a test.' Georgie replies.
'Oh sweetheart, this is fantastic news.' Grace says smiling.
'So how's my little Frankie-Doodle been doing?' Georgie asks smiling as she bounces the little boy on her knee.
'Oh the terrible twos have well and truly hit, haven't they? His new favourite word is no and he likes to tip his dinner onto the floor so we've been having great fun.' Marie replies causing Georgie to laugh.
'A terror just like his daddy then. He was your spitting image when he was born but he gets more and more like Fingers as he gets bigger, doesn't he?' Georgie says and Marie nods her head.
'Mmm... I know. Sometimes he makes faces as well and it's just Fingers. Anyway how are you feeling? I know you said you don't really want to talk about it but it's me?' Marie asks and Georgie smiles.
'Honestly? Like shit. I just-I feel so drained all the time. No matter how much I sleep I'm just exhausted.' Georgie admits.
'That'll pass. Once you're by the first trimester you'll start feeling better, you'll have more energy.' Marie replies.
'I don't remember you being like this.' Georgie says and Marie laughs.
'Remember you were in Afghan when I was in my first trimester... I was like a walking zombie most of the time.' Marie replies.
'How did you deal with it? Was there anything in particular that helped?' Georgie asks and Marie shakes her head.
'Honestly? Just time, George. You just need to get through these initial twelve weeks and then it will get easier.' Marie replies.
'When are you and Aidan due back at work?' Marie asks.
'I'm not due back until the end of next week but A is back tomorrow.' Georgie replies.
'What is Aidan's plan then? Is he going to continue active duty now that you guys are starting a family?' Marie asks and Georgie shrugs her shoulders.
'It's not something we've discussed properly yet.' Georgie replies.
'How would you feel if he said he was stepping back?' Marie asks causing her sister to sigh.
'Honestly? Relieved. The thought of no more sleepless nights worrying about whether or not he is coming home sounds like heaven.' Georgie admits.
'Do you struggle when he's gone?' Marie asks and Georgie nods her head.
'Every minute that he is away. It's so stupid because I knew what I was getting into when I got with another soldier but I don't think I will ever not worry about whether he's gonna come home to me.' Georgie replies.
'There was a time where I was so, so worried that I'd never get to see you properly happy again, not after Elvis. I couldn't see how you could possibly give your heart to someone else where it still very much belonged to Elvis but Aidan gets you, he understands.' Marie says and Georgie smiles.
'Mmm... I think it helps that he's in the army so he gets it.' Georgie replies shrugging her shoulders.
'Happy to be home?' He asks softly as he wraps his arms around her waist from behind causing her to smile.
'Happy to be anywhere as long as I'm with you.' She replies tilting her head back. Their relationship has been a bit of a whirlwind; they went steady when they got back from Afghan but when the pandemic hit last year they decided to isolate together meaning their relationship went from 0-100 in such a short space of time.
'We'll need to get a bigger place for when the little one comes.' He says, his hand brushing across her stomach.
'This place is big enough until he or she gets a little bigger. I don't want to rush into anything. We need to find our forever home.' She replies.
'It's crazy to think we're actually having a baby, isn't it?' She says and he nods his head.
'I know. Watching you with Frankie today I just kept thinking that's going to be what I get to come home to every day. You and our little one and I couldn't be more excited for that.' He replies smiling.
'I love you.' She says softly as he kisses the top of her head.
'I love you too.' He replies.
'I'm going out with Marie and Frankie tomorrow. I think we're just going to do some shopping and get some lunch some where.' She says and he nods his head.
'Sounds great... Remember we've agreed to go for dinner with 2 Section tomorrow night.' He replies and she smiles.
'Oh I know.' She says leaning back against his chest.
