{Erwin Smith}

Your the reason why all those soldiers got killed!Your the reason that those poor families won't ever get to see their loved ones again, they'll never get to play with their siblings, or see their grandkids again because of you!You heartless creature, how could you just feed my child to the Titans like some snack!Your no human, your a demon! The words echoes back and forth in commander Erwin Smith's clouded mind as he tried to finish up the stacks of paperwork that was piled up on his desk.

Monster, go to hell where you belong! He tried to think of something else to try and block out the cruel, harsh insults bouncing around in his head, but it didn't do much to help.

Erwin stood up and stretched a bit, and walked over to the window staring out at the village and watched the towns people go about there daily business. He averted his gaze to the giant walls that provided guardiance from the dangerous Titans. But that didn't stop the harsh insults from practically flooding his mind right to the brim.

Absolute scumbag!I f*cking hate you!DEMON RUN!!!NO, GET AWAY FROM ME, YOU MONSTER!This brought tears to his eyes, but he kept them at bay as he ordered a few deep, controlled breaths to calm his stressed nerves.

"Why," Erwin mumbled to himself, "Why must this world be so cruel?"

His thoughts were once again interrupted by yet another string of harshly cruel insults.

Disgusting b*st*rd!You call yourself a commander, ha, what a joke, your a pathetic excuse of a soldier!Erwin's an Asshole! Erwin took another shaky breath, once again forcing himself to calm down. I must stay strong, do not show any emotions, you are the Commander, people look up to you for guidance. Erwin thought, trying to stay positive and keep his spirits up. But the barage of negative comments returned just as fast as he'd forced them out of his mind.

(Jonathan Smith)

I have a theory about the real reason of the walls. Humankind used to live happily and peacefully outside the walls for a while, before the Titans attacked, therefore forcing us to retreat into the safety of the walls to take refuge from the Titans.

(Young Erwin)

Wow Dad, I can't believe there were actually humans living outside the walls.

(Young Erwin)

Okay so, I have a theory that my father told me...

(MPs)

Excuse me young man, but we need you come with us...

(Young Erwin)

No... no it can't be true, he can't be dead

(MPs)

It's your fault he's dead, you did this to him, your an absolute useless son and should have never been born...

This seemed to tip the scales and Erwin couldn't take it anymore. Tears began to stream down the commander's face as he gently pressed his face against the cool surface of the window, and slowly slid to the floor, now sitting on his knees.

Erwin just sat there, sobbing quietly, his entire frame shaking like a leaf. The only thing that could be heard, was the sound of his gentle sobbing.

"Father... I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..." he choked out through hitched breathing. This went on for several minutes, and every time it happened, he would try to end the crying spell relatively quickly so as to not be seen as weak should one of the other captains, commanders, or squad leaders come through the door.

After a few minutes, Erwin finally calmed down, wiped his eyes and his face of tears with a nearby tissue from a tissue box that had been set out in his office. He looked at himself in the mirror, seeing his red, puffy eyes and slight bags under his eyes, which indicated he was exhausted as well as guilt ridden. He took a deep breath and composed himself as he began to head for the cafe to get some coffee and calm his nerves.

--

Upon entering the cafe, he spotted Levi at one of the tables sipping some tea, who noticed the commander coming in and gave a slight wave before going back to sipping his tea. Erwin fixed himself a steaming cup of coffee before sitting down next to Levi.

"Hey, " the captain muttered quietly.

"Hey yourself, " the commander replied in a quiet tone, sipping his coffee, while Levi sipped his hot tea.

Erwin watched as Levi sipped his tea, eyeing every feature of his perfect face. He simply stared into those beautiful eyes of Levi's.

Then he all of a sudden found himself gently taking the captain's hand in his, making Levi look up at him.

Levi tried to pull away, but couldn't due to Erwin's slightly tightened grip around his hand. Levi looked up at Erwin with at bit of a surprised/slightly angry expression, that is until he saw tears in the commander's eyes.

Levi had known Erwin ever since he'd been recruited into the Survey Corps, and he'd been his right hand as well. Erwin had been like an older brother to him, he'd helped him when he needed it, patched up his injuries when he was hurt, and even comforted him when he needed it. But right now, it seemed like Erwin was the one who needed comforting.

Levi brought both hands up to Erwin's forehead and gently pulled his head downward towards his lips, placing a gentle kiss on the commander's forehead.

"I love you," he whispered quietly as he wiped away some tears that had freshly flowed down Erwin's face.

"Well, at least one person believes in me." Erwin said, voice cracking as he broke down into quiet sobs again. Levi gently removed his hand from Erwin's grasp and walked over to sit right next to the commander and gently brought his arms around him, gently rubbed his back. The Commander simply melted into Levi's warm embrace and continued sobbing quietly, to not attract too much attention to themselves. Finally Erwin calmed down and looked into Levi's eyes and then gave him the biggest hug he could give, nearly crushing him.

"Gah, can't... breathe..." Levi chocked as Erwin let him go and allowed him to obtain some much needed oxygen.

"Well, are you happy now, you big ass tree?" Levi asked in a slightly annoyed yet caring tone, which made Erwin laugh out loud. The Commander actually laughed out loud, for once in a long time, Erwin was actually happy.
