Boiling Hogwarts

Partly Inspired by Luz's Guide to Glyph Magic

'Don't worry so much Amity, Everything will be fine, what's the worst that could happen' said 21 Year old Luz Noceda talking to her girlfriend Amity Blight who lived in the mystical boiling Isles using her scrobile. Amity sighed in frustration at Luz, 'Come on Luz, We know literally nothing about these human "Wizards" you are going in totally unprepared! You could have at least waited until either myself, Willow or Gus were done with our work to go!" Luz rolled her eyes hard, she understood where Amity was coming from of course, but Luz was confident that everything would be fine.

She had arrived in the Boiling Isles 7 years ago through the mysterious door owned by her mother figure in the boiling Isles, Eda. She had quickly found that if she trusted her gut but used her brains she could make her way through the Isles without too much of an issue and that applied to everything else too. And she wasn't dead yet! Sure a few scars and maybe some deep trauma but she was still standing which showed it work. 'Amity I love you, but you need to trust me, I'm certain this is the right path.' Amity groaned at her and replied 'we don't even know how they will react to you, from everything your mum told you they use wands on the daily instead of just for practise and against things that go against the normal'.

Luz could tell her normally calm and collected (apart from when she panicked around Luz during their teenage years) was panicking and stressed. Luz stated very simply 'do you trust me Amity' Amity seemed taken aback by the question wondering if Luz was doubting her love for her. Amity let her blue/brown hair down and pinged one of her pointy ears like Luz likes to do to her and said 'of course I trust you babe, all the way from the boiling Isles to the human world' Luz smiled as she looked past her scrobile seeing a group of teens surrounding another teenager and said 'good now let me do this, I promise I will keep you and everyone else updated. Also I need to go, looks like there is a kid in trouble' Amity sighed in defeat, 'Fine, But if you don't contact me even for a minute each night I'm storming into the human world to find you, okay?! Now go and help that kid. Love you' Luz smiled at her girlfriend who was slowly starting to calm down 'love you to Blight, bye' ending the video and allowing the scrobile to roll up and slide back into her pocket.

She started to make her way over to the group, they were in a park a couple minutes walk away and she only knew that because she saw through her palasmin who was flying in the sky scouting for any potential danger. Luz didn't exactly know where she was. Well she knew she was somewhere in Surrey in England but other than that she had no clue. She had left for England after her human mom had finally told her about her human father and she had decided to head to England immediately to seek answers. However the information she had to go on wasn't very much and she was pretty much hoping her gut would put her on the right track.

She arrived at the park a lot quicker than she was expecting and asked 'Is everything all right?' she noticed that the boy she saw being surrounded before was now on the ground with a pair of broken glasses and a bleeding nose while the other boys; all much larger than him, surrounded him with the "boss" turning to face her 'Go away Lady, everything is fine so go and mind your own business' Luz wanted to roll her eyes, clearly everything wasn't fine but they obviously thought she was foolish. Speaking calmly she said 'Yeah I don't think that's true for a second Segundo, idiotas' Her purple hoodie clinging to her body as she started the teens down. She could already see one of them getting ready to punch her.

Then all hell broke loose, the one who had been preparing to punch her let out his punch which Luz stopped with her hand saying 'Trying to punch someone older and much more experienced than you? Not a good idea.' Twisting the boy's arm. She wouldn't even need her glyphs to deal with these troublemakers. The Boy screamed out in pain sounding like a strangled cat or Aldergast when he was shrinking. Their friend's failed attempt of punching me set off the others as they let the other kid go and focused on her, the "Boss" saying 'Lady you just made a massive mistake'. Luz singled for the boy to come at her, using her thin frame to dodge and weave between them as they all tried to grab and punch her.

She quickly realised that the boys weren't going to give up, even after they had knocked themselves down. Luz felt the magic in her hand and a long pole made of White wooden appeared in her hand knocking into the chest of two of the teenagers. One of them stood up dazed and muttering 'what the hell?' before the large wooden pole hit him across the face making his entire face wobble like a bobble-head. 'Are we done messing around boys? Cause I have other things I need to do tonight'. The other one that had been hit in the initial surprise attack said 'You witch!' Luz smiled knowing they would have no knowledge about her true power, 'if you only knew'. She spun her Staff around like an expert -which she was- hitting all of them rapidly making them bruised and dazed.

About a minute Later Luz was the only one left standing, with a smirk on her face she turned to face the Young Man and the "boss" who looked royally peeved, facing her she said 'your a total bit…' before being interrupted by the boy who had been on the ground 'I wouldn't finish that sentence Dudley' The Boy, Dudley said 'you will pay for this when we get home' looking around the larger boy, I saw the kid I saved holding a stick about 7 inches long at the others face and it seemed to be enough of a threat to make the other boy stand down and storm off, clutching two of his goons. The others quickly stood up and moved away all dazed from being bonked on the head by her staff.

Turning around to face the boy she said 'Are you okay', The Boy nodded and started to clean himself up, brushing his hand against his trousers to clear off the dirt 'yeah thanks for the help lady, but they will just be back again later for me' Luz raised her eyebrow at that comment, Staring into his emerald eyes I asked 'Don't you have anyone who can help you kid' the teenager flinched which hurt Luz who recognised it. It was the same thing Amity had done for years until she finally broke away her family from her mother. He didn't feel safe in his own home which either meant his parents or Guardians were negligent or worse, abusive.

Moving her hand forward she wiped away some blood that was pooling down from his nose and said 'what's your name kid' he seemed to study her like she was some kind of test subject before saying 'Harry Potter mam' Luz smiled at Harry and said 'well nice to meet you Mr Potter, now let's see if I can help clean you up a bit'. Grabbing his broken glasses Luz pulled out a glyph she had previously drawn out and stuck it to the glasses before tapping it saying proudly 'repair' the fibers in the glasses pulled it all together before it summoned other fibers from the ground to strengthen the old worn down fibers.

His eyes widened as he asked 'how did you do that? Are you a Witch? Did the order send you?' Luz smiled and said 'Ah I see your part of the Wizarding community I'm looking for Mr Potter, Yes I am a witch but probably not the kind that you are used to. And no I wasn' sent by this order you mentioned.'

Whistling, Luz called out 'Owzura get down here now' Harry looked confused before a white wooden owl with glowing blue eyes came flying down landing on Luz's staff which had reappeared in her hands. The Wooden owl froze and she said 'Now Mr Potter before those other boys started attacking you, you looked pretty glum. Do you want to talk about what it was? Talking about your problems is usually one of the best ways to deal with them. That or punching them in the face.' Harry smiled at that last comment but looked at her Wearily before sighing and starting to tell her his current problems….which resulted in him telling her his entire life story on a swing as the sun set and she patiently listened to him vent about his life.

Once he was finished Luz asked him gently 'better?' Harry nodded with a smile on his face 'A bit yeah, nobody's taken the time to listen to me before in full. Thank you' Luz placed her free hand on his shoulder and said 'it's no problem kid, sometimes you just need someone to sit down and listen. Now I can't say I've been through quite the same amount of hell as you, not saying I haven't gotten myself into a lot of trouble, hell that's a daily experience for me but everything you have gone through and only at age 15, must be horrible.' Before Luz could finish speaking, her Scrobile buzzed and came out of her pocket and screamed in Amity's "voice 9:00PM Go To Sleep Luz!" Luz chuckled and said 'It's getting on, Let me walk you home, you never know who may be lurking around' Harry nodded slightly gumly which didn't go unnoticed by Luz, 'ya know I have a hotel room with two beds you could come stay there with me for the night until I can get you some alternative accommodation' Harry's eyes lit up and said 'really?! Yes please'.

Luz grinned and said 'cool, we just need to pick your stuff but then we can head straight off. Chocolate bar?' Harry seemed a bit taken aback by the offer but readily accepted it. Easting the bar slowly to savour it. His first Muggle chocolate all summer. He was going to enjoy it instead of gulfing it down in one. The Two of them walked in relative silence for the next 10 minutes or so until Luz noticed that Harry was starting to shiver and said 'do you need a jacket Mr Potter?' he shook his head at Luz which worried her before he said 'don't you feel the cold, the feeling of happiness being sucked away from you?' Luz shook her head 'I feel the cold now that you mention it but not the other thing. Why do you know what it is?' around them there started to be.a gasping like sound as Harry said 'I hope I'm wrong mam, but think so' flashbacks to cedric death started to appear in his mind as two ghastly figures floated down from the bridge above making lIz say 'man you guys look uglier than emperor belos did and that's saying something' As Harry muttered 'Dementors'.

Harry looked at Luz expecting to see her terrified and shivering but she seemed to be completely fine and he asked 'erm why are they not affecting you?' Luz looked at him and said 'they are meant to do something' Harry nodded trying to focus on the young Dominican-American Woman and said 'they drain the happiness out of you before sucking the soul out of you' Luz stretched out her arms and said 'nasty little fellows then aren't they.' Harry could only nod at the Woman who wasn't being affected by them. Harry said trying to suck the chocolate in his mouth as slowly as possible 'you said you're a witch, then do something!' Luz rolled her eyes and said 'Like I said before I'm not the kind of Witch you used to put sure' Luz brought her right hand up to her left shoulder and tapped a glyph that was stitched into the fibers of her blue and white T-shirt hidden underneath her cloak. The Glyph glowed brightly and suddenly Luz's clothes changed in a flash of light. SUddenly she was standing there wearing a blue waistcoat over a white shirt with rolled up arms, her cloak was longer and more jagged and she had large brown boots that almost went up to her knees. On her hands were a pair of dark brown gloves with Glyphs on the back and front. The yellow bag that she before became a brown sturdy bag that was slung over her opposite shoulder and she wore an owl belt with a large pocket on it. Connected to the bag was a long brown whip.

Standing proudly Luz grabbed the whip and said 'Light whip!' brushing her hand against a glyph on the lip and the ENtire whip lit up and she started to whip at the Dememntors making them back away, almost hissing at the bright light of the whip before Luz yelled 'Fire!' touching another glyph on the whip making the whip switch from pure light to a blazing fire whip. THe Dementors hissed and groaned at Luz whops tood her ground before saying 'time to end this, kid close your eyes' Harry closed his eyes when she told him too, he wasn't stupid, she had a whip that was on fire, don't argue with the lady with the fire whip. Luz, certain that Harry had his eyes closed, shot forward as she activated the Wind Glyphs that had on the bottom of her shoes. The Force of the wind sent her straight towards her foes and as she was flying to them she reached for her right Glove and said 'combination 3' The Glyphs on the glove changed to match the left glove and as she reached the Dementors she yelled 'LIGHT BOMB!' An explosion of Light rocked the tunnel they were in.

Harry felt his eyes burn from how bright light was even though he had his eyelids closed which showed how powerful that spell Luz had used. The Dementors were forced out of the tunnel due to the bright light and they flew away hissing and wheezing, they wouldn't be coming back any time for sure. Luz turned around and asked Harry 'You alright Kid?' Harry groaned loudly but managed to get out 'seeing stars but yeah I think so' Luz smiled and said summoning her staff 'good, we should get going before anything else tries to attack us. It's like you said Mr Potter, you are very unpopular'. The Two headed off at a brisk pace to No.4 Privet Drive.

A/N Hope you enjoyed, don't expect this to be updated too regularly. Man I can't wait for S2 of The Owl House. Luz's design at the end is based on some fanart of an older luz I saw on pinterest and the more I thought of it the more Indiana Jones started to fit into it. Till Next time bye
