My first FanFic! As Zane Truesdale continues both his path of darkness and his mockery of Duel Monsters, Seto Kaiba comes forth to put this upstart in his place. Kaiba sets out to prove to Zane that there are ways that one can achieve victory without sacrificing your principles, all while remembering the ones who taught it to him.

Zane's P.O.V.:

Shortly after the Genex Tournament Zane Truesdale has received an invitation to an undisclosed location promising him a worthy challenge. Curious and having nothing better to do, Zane enters a dimly lit KaibaCorp warehouse and looks around. "Where are you? I came just like you asked, so show yourself!". A voiced answer, "I see you decided to accept my challenge." On que all the lights came on causing Zane to cover his eyes to the sudden change in brightness, though he could see a figure standing before him. His eyes adjusted the normally stoic Zane couldn't hide his shock at the man standing before him. "Seto Kaiba!"

Zane just stood there, before him stood before was the owner and CEO of KiabaCorp, the founder of Duel Academy, and arguably the one of the best Duelist in the world, second only to the King of Games himself. Composing him Zane stared down the living legend before him. "So why have you called me here?" Kaiba activates his KC mass production Duel Disk. "I'll give you one guess. I heard you were the top student at my academy, as well as your recent exploits during the Genex Tournament." "So, the great Seto Kiaba himself wishes to challenge me. I guess you were impressed by my skill and wish to duel me yourself.", Zane let out a chuckle, mixed with amusement and arrogance. Kaiba stood unamused. "Actually it's the opposite." Zane chuckles ended at the remark.

Kaiba stood full of determination, "There was a time you were a Duelist worthy of respect, but that all changed the moment you throw away your values. I'll admit that I may share your desire for victory, but there are lines I'll never cross in order to achieve it!" Zane unimpressed merely asked, "Like what?" "Like hurting my little brother, the way you did during the tournament! So, believe me when I say this, I'm not going stand idly as you disrespect the very game my school was built for!" Zane couldn't hold back his laughter. "Is that what you called me for, a lecture on morals? And I heard you were ruthless." Kaiba began to lose his patience. "Stop stalling!" Zane activated his Acadamy Duel Disk. "Fine, I guess we'll just settle whose method of Dueling is superior the old fashion way."

"But before we do how about we make things a little more interesting." Zane tossed a set of electrodes to Kaiba before putting on a set for himself. "These are..." Before he could finish Kaiba interrupted him. "I know what they are, they're use in underground Duels to electrocute Duelists when they loss Life Points." Kaiba proceeds to put them on. "I'll play your sick game, just don't throw a tantrum when you lose." Both Duelists stared each other down before simultaneously calling out the same word. "DUEL!"
