CHAPTER 1: Avatar in love!
"It's beautiful," remarked Asami Sato as she held Korra's hands tighter, looking around at the splendor that is the Spirit World, having stepped out of the spirit portal.
"Yes, it is, but not as beautiful as you," Korra replied, making Asami blush as they locked eyes.
Asami, leaned in at the same time as Korra did, they closed their eyes as their lips locked.
She has such soft beautiful lips, they both thought as they shared their first kiss. Asami's eyes were wet when she pulled back from Korra. To her credit, Korra held on to Asami's waist, not letting her go as she looked up into her eyes. "What's wrong, Asami?" she asked, her eyes shining with concern and affection.
Asami blinked, wiping her eyes as she spoke softly.
"It's just that I can't believe you're with me this way now, I wonder what my dad would think…I know what he thought of Mako and me before but…and I know we patched things up before he…" she trailed off, tearing up again.
Korra smiled, her own eyes getting misty as she stayed close to her new love. "I have an idea of how you feel, Asami. When we fought the Red Lotus and I thought my dad had fallen to his death, I almost lost it and thought I'd kill Zaheer and P'li."
Korra tightened her arms around Asami as she looked up into her lovely green eyes.
"I stopped myself, and I'm still ashamed that I still almost killed Zaheer later after he poisoned me, but you know what stopped me? Thinking of you and Mako and Bolin and my dad and mom. How could I betray everything my dad stood for, I didn't know he was still alive. I did know my mom was and you all were and how could I do that to you?" Korra smiled again, just so happy to be with Asami.
"I guess we don't know what our parents think about us unless they tell us." She continued "I didn't know your dad all that well, but I think he would be proud of you and love you no matter what…just like your mom."
Asami smiled, hugging Korra close, her tears of sorrow turning into tears of joy as she whispered softly to her, "thank you, Korra…I love you."
The Avatar held Asami, kissing at her warm neck on her left side as she replied back happily, "I love you, too."
Asami blushed, chewing her bottom lip as she wiggled her hips, stifling a soft moan. Korra picked up on it and grinned as she kept up kissing at her neck, even as the taller girl tightened her grip on Korra's arms.
"Nnn, that feels so nice," Asami cooed as she let herself go, relaxing into Korra's embrace. To her credit, Korra sensed all around her they were being watched by the residents of the spirit world. She didn't like it, after all as far as she was concerned, they had not helped when she asked during the war with Kuvira and her army, so why should they be privy to their intimacy?
"Um, Asami?" she questioned, getting her girlfriend's attention as she opened her lovely green eyes. "Yeah?" she responded, her eyes still half closed.
Korra stepped back, glancing around as she said "maybe we should save our happier times for when we get back to Republic City, after all, we still have Mako, Bolin, Tenzin and my parents to tell about us."
Asami nodded, sliding some of her hair back behind her left ear as she looked around too. She frowned a bit, but she totally understood Korra's reasoning.
"So…show me some sights?" Asami asked, still holding Korra's left hand in her right.
Korra nodded, smiling as she walked along beside her new girlfriend. "Still, we have to be careful, if you remember not all spirits are friendly, and some are dangerous too," Korra remarked as they made their way along, heading towards a great forested region.
Asami nodded, knowing all too well that spirits were intangible except when they alone chose not to be and that only the Avatar could calm them.
She was also glad that since they entered via the new spirit portal physically, Korra could still bend if she needed to.
They neared what appeared to be a single large tree with upswept branches and pink leaves in a meadow. It seemed like they had only been walking for a few minutes, but the spirit world certainly worked much different than the human world.
"This is Xai Bau's Grove, and it's where I met with and spoke to Zaheer." Korra said, a slight tremor in her usually confident sounding voice. Asami squeezed her hand, telling her with that simple act that she was here for her.
As they looked around, taking in the splendor, Asami turned, sensing she was being watched, not Korra, just her. As one of the most influential people in all of Republic City, she was used to having eyes on her, be it her fellow workers or the paparazzi.
She saw someone standing under the shade of the tree, and although the person was cast in the shadows, she could see it was a man, a tall darker skinned man whose complexion matched Korra's, with long flowing black hair and cold eyes.
"Korra, there's someone watching us," Asami said, getting Korra's attention.
The man stepped out into the light, a smile curving his lips as a sparkle of madness shone in his eyes. The spirits who had been watching recoiled, disappearing from the area.
Korra and Asami backed up, both of them gasping at the same time as they said his name in unison, although it was a name everyone back in Republic City knew by now, in infamy.
"Amon!"
