"Lily we have to go! HE's here!" James shouted standing at the bottom of the stairs. The wand in his hand sparked with magic from how nervous its wielder was.
The house shook as the wards started to fall. Then it happened the front door was blown apart as the monster walked in. It's pale skin shined in the pale light of the moon, the blood red eyes scanning the room for its target.
"I won't let you get past!" James shouted as he whipped his wand up as a red light left from its tip.
"Insolent fool." the monster said in a whisper as a piece of the door intercepted the light. A flick of his wrist and a ripple of the air was all warning James got before the wall that was behind him shattered into splinters. Another flick and the splinters turned into a swarm of daggers heading towards James prone figure. Raising his wand James was able to form a magical shield in front of himself. That was as far as he got.
Pointing Its wand at the ceiling above James it whispered a quiet "putro" causing the ceiling to crumble away. An unexpected benefit of this was Lily falling from the hole, and landing on James. With a twitch of Its wand the couple were sent flying through a wall.
"Too easy." It said walking up the stairs heading towards the nursery where It's prize lies in wait. Opening the door the monster spotted it, the current target of it's animosity.
"A child of prophecy, how pathetic. Begone from my sight peasant." The monster said before raising its wand and shouting those unforgivable words, "AVADA KEDAVRA!" As the sickly green light left its wand the unexpected happened. The spell was stopped. Stopping the spell was a shining golden dome. Then something else happened, the intended target had his little pudgy hands held out in front of it. With a thundering boom the nursery was destroyed. Except for the crib, but it was missing it's occupant.
"Oh my! Who would leave a child out here. Especially in this weather?" a young woman questioned herself as she bent down to pick up the wet child on her doorstep. "Lets see here. What's your name, little one?" she asked the child in her arms as she checked the little boy's blanket for a name, "Harrison Potter, that's a good strong name. Well let's get you settled in little Harrison." the woman said as she took him into the orphanage.
