So I woke up this morning with this scene in my head. This is part of an AU I have been discussing, and I'm just gonna drop this and run! Kudos if you recognise the scene, and many thanks to Gumnut-Logic for proofreading and TsarinaTorment for discussing this. A bit of TOS Hood
Scott dodged the bullet, looking for a way out of this mess, but there wasn't one. He was cornered, and the only way to go was backwards, onto the metal gantry crossing the factory. It was definitely not where he should be going, the fire below was raging, and even up here the heat was intense.
'You are beaten. It is useless to resist. Don't let yourself be destroyed like your father did.'
Scott answered by rolling sideways, dodging again and bringing his grapple up to shoot over the Hood's shoulder to secure an escape, but the Hood's eyes glowed yellow and the cable clanged to the ground useless.
He backed away, one last ditch attempt to dodge around the man in front. But he wasn't quick enough this time, and a bullet clipped his arm, forcing Scott back, back onto the swaying gantry. The heat was intense now, and he risked a glance down. Somewhere in this complex his brothers were fighting the fire, but he couldn't see them here. And he was so thankful for that.
'There is no escape, Scott. Don't make me destroy you. You do not yet realise your importance, and you have no idea the power you possess. Join me and I will complete your training. With our combined powers we can rule the world!'
Scott looked at the man. He was crazy! Scott didn't have any powers, unless you counted his Scooter sense when his brothers were in trouble, or the uncanny knack he and Virgil had of reading each other's mind and acting as one. He shook his head, the Hood was just trying to throw him.
'I'll never join you!
'If you only knew the power you possessed!'
'I'm not interested in anything you have to say to me. You killed my Father!'
By this time Scott was halfway along the gantry, and the Hood was slowly advancing on him. The walkway swayed in the heat-saturated atmosphere. But it was the eerie laughter of the man pursuing him that made Scott pause, injured arm clutched to stem the bleeding.
'Killed your Father? Oh, Scott. I couldn't have killed your father.' The man was actually clutching his belly. 'Killed your Father, that's a good one.' Scott stared. Maybe the man was becoming unhinged. Finally he seemed to get himself under control.
'Killed your Father? No. No, Scott. I am your father.'
Scott froze. Did he really just say that? He watched the Hood put his gun away, and the man held out a hand.
'Join me.'
'You are a LIAR. I would never join you' Scott spat, edging backwards.
Suddenly the part of the gantry he was on gave way, and he plummeted.
