That Boy, Look My Love Away.

It was clear to Severus they were in love.

Standing behind the wall he heard James Potter laughing. It was a kind laugh, a gentle one, one Severus had never heard before from him. The only laughs he'd heard escaping Potter's lips was a sadistic cackle. A wail to get people to stare. A joy from Severus's suffering.

The curses Potter would cast on to Severus in the hallways. Making Severus trip over and drop all of his things, casting binding spells on him when it was raining so he'd go cold until someone finally found him.

Taking Severus's books before tests, so he couldn't study, or even ripping them up forcing Severus to constantly have to cast reparation spells on all his belongings. It was frustrating how often Potter and his friends like to take Severus's belongs.

Other than the time Potter, Black, Lupin and Pettigrew tried to kill him, one of the many awful memories Severus held was from his first year. Out of the blue he was grabbed from behind by Black and Potter and before he could ask what they were doing they dragged him into the boys bathroom and flushed his face into a toilet. The disgusting water filling nose and mouth, making it difficult for him to breathe or cry out for help.

They'd stolen Severus's wand, and locked him inside the Boys Bathroom. Severus had yelled, screamed and cried, banging on the door for what felt like hours. He'd been locked in that room for so long his stomach had growled from hunger, but there was nothing to eat. Severus was forced to lay on the cold hard floor and wait, wait until someone could unjinx the door and let him out.

Severus had been locked inside that bathroom or endless hours.

As Severus had begged to be freed, yelling and crying he heard laughter on the other side. Potter's laughter. A laughter that from that moment forward Severus would become all too familiar with from that moment on.

A laugh mocking him, were nothing but malice. That was the laughter of James Potter.

But behind the wall, he heard a sweet laugh escaping James's lips.

It was a giddy happiness, and satisfaction Potter had. He'd taken her, Lily, somewhere no one could find them...at least no one was meant to find them. One of the many secret passages and paths that laid inside the walls of Hogwarts.

Severus didn't follow them here, he'd only stumbled upon here by chance. Severus just wanted some piece and quiet away from the loud students of Hogwarts, he wanted to be alone. Severus has not been heading in any particular direction. He'd just happened to walked under a hanging carpet and ended up here. But instead of being alone, he caught the voices of Lily Evans and James Potter echoing down a hallway.

Curiosity had overtaken Severus as he'd crept up behind a wall to listen to them. His hands grew tighter around the books he was carrying as he heard Lily laugh.

An innocent, elegant chortle. One he had been so familiar with. One he'd missed so much.

Over a year had passed since Severus and Lily had last uttered a word to each other.

There was nothing Severus missed greater than sharing conversations with Lily. Everyday they'd met between classes, talking and playing.

Yet now their relationship was nothing more than passing in the Hogwarts hallways, as Severus would constantly be ignored by Lily

Severus was always the one to look at her, her glimmering emerald eyes, her ivory face and tangerine hair trailing behind her as she spoke with her Gryffindor friends. He'd always follow her with his eyes. In the great hall he'd glance at her for fleeting moments, only to feel the same stabbing in his heart when she never met his gaze. She never turned of looked up to see him. She always had her attention on anything other than Severus.

It was over.

And now he was hearing her laughing, with him. Potter of all the people in the world. Potter!

That wicked leach. That boy who always thinks he's better than everyone else, who always walks with a strut in every step and hangs out with his pack. He of all people was the person Lily had eyes for. Severus would have been less insulted if she'd fallen for that Merlin forsaken Werewolf.

Though through careful reconsideration, Severus felt he'd be just as disgusted. But in the end if it came down to Lupin or Potter, Severus would much rather Lily be behind that wall with Remus, as sickening as that image made him feel.

"What are you doing, James?" Lily said in a chirpy voice.

Severus stiffened his back against the wall, feeling his ears pricking at the sound of her voice. It was the same as he'd always remembered.

"Making sure you don't have a fever!"Potter replied.

"I'm fine, James, if anything, I'm the one who should be checking you! That Quaffle hit you really hard in the ribs!"Lily said.

"Do you want to take a closer look?"

Lily burst into laughter," James !"

"Well do you?"

"This is so embarrassing!"

"Why are you embarrassed?"Potter's voice became sweeter. "No one else is here?"

Lily continued to giggle,"Well, okay, maybe just a peek."

"Ahahaha, don't be so shy, Lily!" Potter teased.

Sickness overwhelmed Severus. His stomach churning, as he forced himself not to vomit.

He wasn't meant to be here and he defiantly was not meant to be hearing this. And he defiantly didn't want to hear this! Severus felt trapped trying to think of a way out, as he slowly began to slide away from them. He had to move as quietly as possible so Potter and Lily wouldn't notice him there.

Silently stepping away, making an effort to make noise. Stepping as lightly as he possible could. The voices of Lily and Potter echoed in the long stone hallway, making Severus feel sicker and sicker. The further Severus walked from them the louder their laughing seemed to sound in his ears.

The bliss of Lily Evans, being Severus old memories. Back to when him and Lily were children, and Snape told her about her magic for the first time. All those times meeting down the street, talking about magic and Hogwarts, every new year he'd enjoyed the long rides to Hogwarts with her by his side. Sitting across from each other ordering as much sweets and they could before they arrived at school. They'd always gone to the station together. Just the two of them.

After several more steps their echoes became muffled. That moment Severus broke off into a run, feeling the sickness inside him turn into a bitter anger. Potter took everything from him. He must be so proud of himself, holding Lily in his arms, doing whatever he wants to her.

Severus wished he could scream at her, shake her until she was in the right mind. To have her see what's right. That Potter only wanted her because she was beautiful. James Potter didn't care about Lily. He didn't care about anyone or anything other than himself.

Severus, broke out through from under the carpet hanging on the wall, feeling his heart pounding in his ears. The words between Potter and Lily repeating in his head over and over. The burning agony festering again and again.

Pacing back to the Slytherin Dungeon, Severus tried the erase what he'd just seen from his thoughts. He barely cared about the people teasing him as he passed, calling him the name that Potter and Black always did " S nivellus". S everus ignored it all, walking down stairs and finally he reached the Slytherin Common Room. The other Slytherin paid no mind to him, letting him stomp away into his room. He slammed his dorm room door behind him, throwing his books on the floor.

The sweet voice of Potter played in his mind on repeat. He felt the bile rising in his throat and the pounding of his heart in his chest. It was so hard he felt like his rib's would break, his mind so hazy he felt the room was spinning.

Severus screamed as he saw nothing but white.

Kicking over his desk chair, he clawed at the papers and books lying on it throwing them onto the floor. Ink and quills spilt all over the floor, Severus continued to scream, his throat burning from how loud he was. But he didn't care. He pulled out the draws and smashed them onto the floor. The wood made a loud noise as everything inside them sprawled all over the floor. More ink spilling and pages tearing.

HIM? SHE FELL IN LOVE WITH HIM! Severus thought cursing to himself.

Ripping at everything his hands could grab, tearing everything, pulling and throwing. Anything, everything.

Wretched Potter didn't deserve anything. He didn't deserve Lily. Lily was Severus's. She'd been his and yet she'd chose him.

Bang, crash, smash.

Potter had stolen her from him.

"YOU STUPID MUDBLOOD!" Severus screamed.

Then Severus stilled. A silence washed over him, as he sunk to his kneels.

The world came back into focus and Severus saw everything around him.

His room was a mess.

Papers were flung everywhere. All his furniture was pushed over, and his clothes splayed out every where. There wasn't a single inch of the floor that wasn't covered in something. Ink had sunk into several of his shirts, and the inkwells had shattered, leaving broken glass everywhere. Ever his school books weren't spared, with pages ripped out and missing.

Severus felt his hands shaking as he looked around himself, the echoes of Lily and James were gone. There as no more ringing, only the quiet. The weight of the words that had escaped his lips was heavy on his shoulders. It was overbearing. Like the entire weight of the world was pressing down on Severus.

His heart was being strangled in a vice, a shudder running through him. Severus held his head in is hands as tears poured from his eyes. He tried to think of something anything else, but all he could think of was Lily.

This boy sitting alone in his room wishing he could have made her happy. If he'd said the right words this boy would have been the one hiding away with her, laughing in hallways. That boy would have been behind the wall wishing that was him. Wishing he could laugh with her again, and kiss her, like this boy had.

Severus wanted her back, but there was nothing he could do. He couldn't beg any longer, she'd already chosen him.

"You stupid Snivellus,"Severus muttered to himself unable to stop his tears from falling.
