AU:The D clan has had a type of magic since the very beginning of their clan.
They can manipulate the wind and the fire;They can change a person's fate or leave it be;They can kill or save;They are able to tell good from bad;They are able to see below the surface;They can sense emotions;The D clan never was and never will be human.
But overtime,the D clan locked up the magic as power-hungry people started to try and marry into their clans just for the magic. It irritated the D clan and so,they placed both a blessing and a curse on their magic. Those who are worthy in the D clan will unlock the ancient magic and awaken the magic to it's fullest potential while those who are power-hungry will never even get near a tiny slip of magic and will be unable to achieve their dreams. In fact,there is an old tale which doubles as a prophecy,unfortunately,it's not very widely known.
Now,the last Chosen D was Gol D Roger,so most would assume it to be Luffy,Ace,Law or maybe another unknown D,but who said it couldn't be all three?
Truth be told,the older members of the D clan were honestly quite surprised at who Roger had chosen.
The first child he chose was the young boy-now-man who wears his straw hat. He has the moniker 'Strawhat' Luffy and quite the hefty bounty. But Luffy had already spread the Will of D to his crew as well. They all possessed individual traits and fully made up the Will of D while Luffy was the unification of all the traits seen.
The second child he chose was his son who had joined the Whitebeards and found a family in them. He possesses the moniker 'Fire Fist' Ace and a bounty suitable for the Second Division Commander of Whitebeard. He hasn't spread the Will of D to anyone yet,but it seemed as if Ace didn't need to do it.
The third child he had chose was a boy who was suffering from the Amber Lead and cured it with a very hefty price. He was given the moniker 'Surgeon of Death' Trafalgar Law with a bounty that had him busting through ranks within months. He has unconsciously spread the Will of D to his crew like Luffy but they make up the Will together.
The fourth child he had chose was a boy who had suffered amnesia and was very unfortunately separated. He had been given the moniker 'Dragon Claw' Sabo with a bounty higher than Luffy's but lower than Ace's,just right for the Chief of Staff of the Revolutionary Army. He shares the Will with his adoptive father and his fellow members of the Revolutionary Army.
Now,set in Marineford as Ace was about to be executed,Luffy unlocks his magic to it's fullest and unlocks Ace's,Law's and Sabo's in turn. Now,the holders of the Will of D in this generation have an Alpha to respond to.
"Look this way pirates!" Sengoku's booming voice thundered over the battlefield.
Luffy whipped his head to the scaffold. His eyes widened as the blades of the executioners lowered down quickly to Ace's neck.
"Let me go!" He yelled,the blades got closer.
"LET ME GO!"Something locked away long ago started to snap and break.
"I SAID UNHAND ME GODDAMMIT!"A wave of both Conqueror's Haki and D Magic washed across the battlefield.
Both marines and pirates alike were forced to their knees as a strong wave of Conqueror's Haki mixed with D Magic washed across the entire battlefield. The power washed off of Luffy in waves after waves,only dispelling at the borders of Marineford. The spirit of the pirate ships suddenly thrummed with energy and fixed themselves back to what it looked like back when it first started out;The sea churned and roared;Strong winds blew up dust everywhere;The clouds above suddenly turned dark and crackled with lightning and thunder;Standing in the middle of it all was one very VERY angry Monkey D Luffy. His scleras were colored the darkest black and and his pupils were a beautiful shining golden color,his hair flying in the fierce wind like a lion's mane. A very,dark and angry scowl with sharper than normal canines showing was on his face and his hands were fisted together,nails already drawing blood from his palms. A low growl drawn from Luffy's chest was heard from him,deep and animalistic just like a wolf giving it's pray the first and last warning before pouncing.
On the scaffold,Ace felt a rush of long lost and locked power flow through him as the first thunder rang throughout the air and the first lightning struck. His sclera changed from white to orange and his pupils shifted from dark brown to pure white. Magma coursed through his veins as lightning crackled at his fingertips,a wildfire burning free in his heart. The power of other elements coursed through him as well,but the firery heat was just his nature.
In Sabody Archipelago,Law smirked a bit before he summoned a room and teleported him and his crew back to their sub. He ordered them to go at full speed while he himself retreated to his quarters. His pupils changed from dull silver to a bright stormy silver while his sclera faded into a dark ice blue. Water gathered at his heels as he walked and snow floated around him. Ice slowly formed on Kikoku's sheath and the currents around the sub suddenly increased. Of course,that didn't mean Law didn't receive the other elements. Law was simply like water,safe as a friend but dangerous as an enemy.
On Batilgo however,Sabo had fallen over in his office and had just gotten back up on his knees. He felt the memories returning to him as the plants in the base suddenly grew with life and the coral reef bursted with color. The base became more sturdy and vine plants grew up the walls of the base and kept everything together like ropes. His pupils had faded from sea blue to forest green and his scleras had darkened to dirt brown. Yes,Sabo did feel the other elements go through him as well but he's always been more of a nature-like person. Reclaiming what he's lost back with aggression yet saving others at the same time,that is Sabo.
Two of them were now heading to Marineford as fast as possible while one was struggling with twice the renewed effort to escape. Luffy himself was very quickly running towards the scaffold with no one in his way.
Whitebeard,who had also been forced down to his knees had just gotten back up. The first thing he noticed was how his body felt healthier. He himself felt lighter and better than he's ever had in years, almost as if his already failing and dying body had been revived and restarted. He looked towards Luffy and smirked at Kizaru who tried to get a hit in on him but Marco,who's chains had been blasted apart thanks to Luffy,took the hits and kept him busy. Aokiji had also tried to impale Luffy with spikes,but Vista,Rakuyo and Izou teamed up on him. Then Akainu himself moved,but a sword appeared out of nowhere and blocked the hit.
Many turned to see who it was and when they did,they either stared in shock or cried. The owner of the sword had a pompadour hairstyle,a crescent cut around his left eye,a yellow scarf wrapped around his neck with a ring on the knot acting as a buckle and a chef's uniform in general. The man wore a cocky smirk as he raised his head,but the eyes were not human. Instead of the usual white sclera and colored pupils,his eyes were fully pure white with no other color.
"Now now,can't have you attacking my friend and savior now can I?" The cocky smirk grew into a grin,but it was dark.
Thatch suddenly lost his smile as his eyes went from pure white to a pretty sapphire sea blue. His sword glowed the same color and with one swing,he pushed Akainu far,far away from Luffy as mist in the same color as his eyes surrounded him. His hair fell down from it's usual pompadour style and dropped into a braid itself with a white lily at the end of his braid,the scar on the left side of his face opening up with gray mist seeping out. Two big,feathered gray and blue angel-like wings in a bluejay's wing pattern unfurled themselves from Thatch's back,a black halo with blood red spikes floating above his head menacingly and easily inflicting fear into the hearts of lower and weaker willed marines.
"Luffy gave me a job:To make sure my family makes it out of this as safe as possible and I'm not about to break my deal with the Devil's Son." Many people gasped at how he phrased Luffy while the boy himself smirked. Thatch wasn't wrong after all.
"So for now,even just temporarily,I'm the Angel of Vengeance and Death." A scowl appeared on Thatch's face and that was all the warning Akainu got before Thatch charged at him.
Meanwhile,Luffy was using the confusion and surprise amongst the marines to his advantage. They barely notice as he slips past like wind,nothing more than a breeze of air passing by to let them know that he was there. It continued like so until Smoker got in the way and pinned Luffy under his jitte
"Get off of me Smoker!"Luffy snarled,the sea stone doing nothing but draining away a bit of his energy.
"Strawhat calm down!I'm on your side! Who else did you think let the plan slip?!" Luffy widened his eyes as Smoker whisper-yelled.
"W-wha? Why?" Luffy stuttered out. A very faint tug pulled at Smoker's fake scowl.
"Can't have my partner in crime and boyfriend dead now,it wouldn't be a good impression on his family would it?" Smoker replied as Luffy slowly closed his eyes and reached a hand to rub at his temples.
"So your the 'cute white dragon' Ace told me about in his letters..."Luffy muttered disbelievingly.
"And here I thought you were good at connecting dots Strawhat,guess not." Smoker replied as he slipped two copies of the keys to Ace's cuffs.
"No I am I am,he's just always been unbelievably good at covering tracks and dropping some of the most subtle as fvcc hints." Luffy gratefully accepted the keys from Smoker.
"I'll make a quick deal with you but you must pass this to Ace later." Smoker more or less demanded. Luffy just raised a brow in a way of telling him to get on with it.
"Telepathic communication,we'll work out the details later." Smoker put a hand out and Luffy snatched it.
"Done deal,now I'm just gonna cash in the quick favor:Make it look like we were fighting and somehow get me closer to my bro." This time,Smoker's smirk was more pronounced.
"Hold on then,cause I'm about to do my part of crazy in this family." Was the only warning Luffy got before he quickly grabbed onto the jitte and was swung up to the platform,Smoker himself dissipating into a cloud of smoke and mixing in with the dust,reforming a good distance away from where he just stood. Luffy pushed himself forwards with the wind at his heels boosting him at every step. Unfortunately,he didn't notice the one light particle that had managed to escape Marco's line of defense. It slowly got closer and closer until...
"Dark Fleur Clutch" A familiar voice rang out.
Hands made of shadows bloomed from Luffy's shoulder,catching the light and flicking it back as if it was nothing. Luffy didn't need to look to know what happened,a smirk on his face. He continued to hop to the platform,the hands disappearing in a shower of shadow flower petals. He reached out his hand and a bō staff was thrown at him while a unique smell of smoke lingered on it. Strong gusts of wind replaced the slightly weaker ones that were at his heels previously with a slight smell of antiseptic blown with it. The familiar sound of rockets firing accompanied with violin in the background was a welcome sound which Luffy loved.
Within seconds,Luffy had reached Ace. He never needed to look back as he knew—no he FELT his Nakama blasting holes in the marine ranks already. Even though it's only been three days they were separated,he knew his Nakama would come. He just did.
"I met your boyfriend and I approve,The Talk is very much needed however." Luffy told Ace as he uncuffed his brother's cuffs.
"Thanks Lu!" Ace said as he rubbed his wrists,enjoying the feeling of the heat and energy returning to him.
"Now,time for chaos~"Both brothers said simultaneously as they looked out on the crowd.
Their eyes glowed bright,power surging through them as they called forth the old D Magic. Ace and Luffy both jumped into the fray,but Sengoku was faster and had almost caught them.
Key word: Almost
Two huge vines sprouted from the rocky ground and pulled them down and out of reach just in time while another vine tied Sengoku up. Both Ace and Luffy looked around and saw a man with a top hat,a scar over his left eye and a pipe on his back. The man had his jacket tied around his waist and the sleeves of his blue button up was rolled up,just slightly above his elbow.
"Sorry I'm late,but amnesia hit me strong in the head." Was all Sabo said before Luffy tackled his older brother while Ace just enveloped his little brothers in a firm hug.
Sabo smiled and returned Luffy's hug just as excited while soaking up the warmth from Ace. Plants gently broke through the ground and made a dome around the newly reunited ASL brothers. Out of habit, Luffy and Ace nuzzled the crook of Sabo's neck and Sabo drowned himself in the amount of warmth,happiness and content of the moment. They really didn't want to move from there but then Aokiji gave them quite the obvious yet cruel reminder.
"Ice Age" And the plant dome froze over before it collapsed.
When it fell,the debris stirred up some dust but when the dust cleared,no one was there. Luffy had used this chance to quickly send the silent message to retreat and the ASL Trio were very quickly whisking away pirates from their fights to the frozen bay and closer to their ship,finishing off any lose ends. Luffy's crew had already disappeared back to the Thousand Sunny who they brought with them. Now,it was only the ASL brothers left on the battlefield. Thatch was matching evenly with Akainu in his fights;Marco kept Kizaru's attention on him;Curiel had handicapped Aokiji with help from Jozu,Vista and Haruta before leaving.
When Thatch suddenly disappeared into thin air and Marco allowed himself to get kicked back to the frozen bay near the Moby Dick,alarms were set off in the marines' heads. Then actual,literal alarms were set off. The marines paled while the pirates had already very quickly retreated far away. Someone had called a buster call on them without anyone noticing.
On the Thousand Sunny,Luffy gave Robin a high five. In Robin's hand was a Gold Den Den Mushi while a few others laid destroyed on the grassy deck. Franky took the liberty of destroying the last Golden Den Den Mushi as well before he took all of them and left,most likely to his workshop. Now at a safe distance,the pirates finally laid down and relaxed. Somewhere while they were retreating, Law had met them and offered them the medical help which Luffy had (unknowingly?) accepted on the behalf of everyone. Everyone except Luffy was relaxing. The young pirate captain started at the almost fully destroyed island with an annoyed gaze,almost hateful even.
"Something wrong Strawhat-ya? You've been staring at Marineford for a long time now." Law said,causing all activity around them to slow down to a halt.
A smaller but equally dark and annoyed scowl appeared on Luffy's face again. His gaze went from annoyed to full on hatred as he stared at the flagpole that was still flying the marine flag. The pirates followed Luffy's gaze and understood what he was so annoyed about and hated so much:The marine flag that brought him and his crew plenty of pain.
"Franky,prepare the GC. We're gonna add another world opponent to our list." Luffy growled out angrily.
Franky smirked as the pirates who weren't part of the crew got confused. The sudden bloodlust that came from all of the Strawhats,even the Thousand Sunny surprised the others. Dark grins and smirks grew on their faces as their gazes turned evil,promising pain. Everyone focused on the Thousand Sunny,now awaiting the show. The mouth of the lion figurehead suddenly opened up and a cannon came out,light particles gathered around it and—
"Gaon Cannon FIRE!"
A beam of pinkish-yellow light shot out from the cannon,heading straight for the flag and within just mere seconds,the marine flag that flew above the former Marine HQ known as Marineford was completely destroyed,not even a single piece left. Many pirates watching had their eyes wide open and filled with stars, in awe of the power the Gaon Cannon held. Even Whitebeard and Marco were impressed and that was saying something.As for the Strawhats,their bloodlust was satisfied and so were their secret dark sides.
{The next day...}
"Hahahahahahahahahaha!"Luffy's laugh rang out from the Thousand Sunny loud and clear,awaking the many pirates who had fallen into a very deep slumber after last night.
"What tha 'ell Luffy?" Sabo slurred,still sleepy.
His blond hair was tousled and he had a hand under his plain white tank top he wore to sleep as he scratched his chest. His shorts were wrinkled and there were imprints of wrinkles from his sheets on his arms. Ace stumbled out from the guest room of Sunny clumsily,sporting a bad case of bed hair while there was still some drool on the corner of his mouth. The only thing Ace wore to sleep last night was a pair of booty shorts and a nightcap which had fallen off his head and onto the floor. Luffy himself had already gotten ready,his straw hat on his head like usual except he was wearing nothing on top,showing off his toned chest and abs with a pair of sky blue ripped jeans.
The now awake pirates all got up slowly and walked out,seeing what was all the commotion. Even Thatch was up,his eyes white like when he first appeared with his now yellowish-green wings tucked behind his back and his halo clumsily set apon his head while sporting a even worse case of bed hair,wearing nothing but sweatpants while Izo followed behind wearing Thatch's shirt,his hair somehow neat.
"Hahahahahah!You guys gotta see this oh my good saké!" Zoro said as he struggled to breath while passing the newspaper to Marco.
Marco looked at the Strawhats weirdly as the mentioned pirates laughed till their sides ached and struggled to even just breath or even get up. He looked at the newspaper with Thatch and instantly understood why,now he was fighting to hold in his laughter while Thatch had fell to the ground laughing
"Oi Marco!What does it say?" Haruta shouted from the ship. Marco took a deep calming breath.
"Alright then,get ready guys:
'A Win or a Lost?'
"During the latest shenanigan 'Strawhat' Luffy has pulled,he has successfully rescued 'Fire Fist' Gol D Ace,the son of the late 'Pirate King' Gol D Roger and his sworn brother. However,it seems as if 'Strawhat' Luffy has traded the lives of his crew and his own to save 'Fire Fist',only to pass the responsibility to 'Whitebeard' Edward Newgate who had too traded his own life.
The Strawhats were last reported to have shot the Marine Flag flying above Marineford before getting killed in the Buster Call which was mysteriously called apon Marineford,presumably as a last resort. Whitebeard was last reported announcing that One Piece was real before he used all his might to save his crew and died in the Buster Call with the Strawhats. Chief of Staff 'Dragon Claw' Sabo was seen in aiding the rescue mission of Fire Fist Ace with Worst Generation 'Surgeon of Death' Trafalgar Law who was last seen possibly doing surgery on Fire Fist.
During the war,the Strawhats seemed to have ingested more than one Devil Fruit and were simply living on bidding time. 'Dragon Claw' Sabo and 'Surgeon of Death' too seemed as if they had ingested more than one Devil Fruit,so they may be dead soon. Now for some bigger news: 'Strawhat' Luffy is the son of the 'World's Most Wanted Man' Dragon and sworn brother to 'Fire Fist' and 'Dragon Claw'. However,this information no longer serves any good as 'Strawhat' was ultimately defeated by a Buster Call.
Admiral Akainu was reported to have had a cannonball blasted through his chest but survived in the Buster Call. Fleet Admiral Sengoku has retired,nominating Admiral Aokiji in his place. However,the Five Elders have nominated Admiral Akainu. A battle will take place once Admiral Akainu has recovered."
And the news after that is all just random stuff we don't really need." Marco finished as he flipped to the last few pages of the newspaper,the main article taking up half the newspaper itself with pictures,input from others and extremely unnecessary detail and exaggeration.
By now,most of them are struggling to stand straight. Pops dead?! Excuse them but he is very much alive here! The Strawhats dead,pfft yeah right. It takes more than just a Buster Call and a war to actually put half of the Strawhats down.
"Why don't we play along? It would do us well in the long run no?" Robin suggested morbidly. Luffy cheered at that idea.
And just like that,they devised a plan. Ace would return with Thatch to pay his respects to those who have fallen in the war and "ring the bell" in Luffy's place with the certain words. Meanwhile,the Strawhats would be away training for 2 years,a year on the island Kuma threw them to and another year training together with the Whitebeards. With the plan set,the Strawhats exchanged their 'See you later's and departed.
Meanwhile,with all the people they've helped and the islands they saved,they mourned the lost of their heroes;A person close and important to them;Someone that had saved their lives;Someone who did not regard themselves as a hero but rather just a group of passerbys who just so happened to help. And so,they flew the Strawhats' Jolly Roger Luffy had given them in secret for what will soon turn into for years to come.
{Three Weeks Later...}
'Gol D Ace returns to Marineford to pay his respects to the fallen'
"That's right folks! 'Fire Fist' Gol D Ace returns to what once used to be Marineford and paid his respects to those that have fallen in the War of Best.
Three weeks have passed since the war and 'Fire Fist' returns with the formerly dead 'Twin Blades' Thatch,the Fourth Division Commanders of the former Whitebeard Pirates. Covered in head to toe from bandages with 'Strawhat' Luffy's former iconic straw hat on his head,his own orange cowboy hat missing.
During his short time at Marineford,he has announced his words for everyone to hear:
"This is not my era nor Pops'. This era belongs to my late younger brother 'Strawhat' Monkey D Luffy and while I won't be continuing his legacy,I know someone who has already decided to do so.
Now listen carefully:This era is the era of 'Strawhat' Monkey D Luffy! And to all those who wish to try to get in the way of his legacy's heir will have to face not only me,but also many many others."
And with that said,he left Marineford with 'Twin Blades' Thatch who had served as his escort apon arriving and leaving."
On an island filled with huge trees,wild animals and crazy plants a young boy that was soon to be a man smiled as he read the newspaper. The young boy sat cosily under a tree during his break,the most recent newspaper in his hands as he chomps down on some meat.
"Shishishi,I gotta show Rayleigh this!" And with that,the boy finished off the rest of his meat and went to find Dark King Rayleigh.
{One Year Later...}
Luffy took a breather as he heaved himself onto the deck in Grove 13. Not long after,Rayleigh came up as well. Both males wrung their shirts dry and headed to Shakky's Rip-Off Bar,one needing some good whiskey while the other hopped to get some good food.
In the bar,eight people were talking and showing off a certain tattoo they got. The first person to show off was Zoro. After two years,his hair has grown a little longer so he uses a little gel to keep it back. He has also acquired a new scar over his left eye while the old scar on his chest remains the same except the fact that there was now the Strawhat Jolly Roger at the start of the scar which is on his left pectoral which was hidden under his clothing. Then it was Nami's turn,she had the Jolly Roger she was more than proud of on her other arm. Usopp had the tattoo on his upper back and in between his shoulder blades while Sanji had it on both his left and right collarbone. Chopper had chose to tattoo the Jolly Roger across his entire back,Robin decided to have the one Jolly Roger she never left over her heart,Franky had swapped out the stars on his now huge forearms for the first and last Jolly Roger he joined and Brook had the tattoo on his ribcage like a broken puzzle which definitely looked cool. (They look the same after the canon 2Y time skip)
Then the bell rang and two people walked in. One the Strawhats recognized as Rayleigh while the other wearing a black snapback cap with the traditional yellow smiley face sewn in the front (think Koro-Sensei's face). The man was around Zoro's shoulder height and was wearing a simple sky blue jean jacket with a white shirt underneath,black sweatpants with two white stripes going down each side and simple red and white sneakers. The man seemed to be sliding on his heels while he talked with Rayleigh animatedly,the hat covering up just enough of his face to hide his identity
"Yo Shakky! How are you today?" The stranger spoke,a oddly high pitched voice that somehow suited him.
"Good afternoon Rayleigh and Ōkami-san! The usual then?" The aforementioned 'Ōkami-san' jumped in joy happily while Rayleigh just laughed.
"Good afternoon Rayleigh-san,who's this?" Brook asked.
The stranger grabbed at his chest in mock offense as he let out a gasp. Rayleigh just laughed good naturedly. Ōkami leaned back,almost falling off the chair. Ōkami glared at Rayleigh,who was still laughing.
"Rayleigh! How could you laugh at me in a time like this?!" Ōkami said with a pout on his face,hands still on his chest.Rayleigh quickly sobered up but he was still snickering.
"I'm sorry Ōkami,its just that they wouldn't recognize you naturally since you've changed a lot." Rayleigh replied. The Strawhats quickly scanned through the list of people they've met long ago with black hair,which only narrowed down the search by a little.
"Oh boo,here we go again with the "you've changed a lot" conversation. We went through this already Rayleigh,I know I've change but my voice is a huge giveaway!" Ōkami said,huffing sadly at the end as he leaned on his hand on the table.
Rayleigh just patted Ōkami on the back while he passed a shot of whiskey to him. Ōkami accepted the small glass very gratefully and downed it quick,just a few seconds before Shakky returned with food. Ōkami instantly lightened up and dug in at a fast speed. Simultaneously,all the Strawhats realized who 'Ōkami' was.
"Luffy?!" 'Ōkami' swallowed his bite of food and looked at them,smiled and took off his snapback.
The Strawhats gaped at their captain. Luffy had went from such a chibi to the height of Zoro's shoulder. Luffy had also grew his hair out to mid back,tying it in a low ponytail which was previously hidden in his jacket. He had also made earrings,a small wolf fang on his earlobe and a bit of lion mane on the shell of his left ear while there was an eagle talon on the other earlobe with a beautiful macaw feather on the shell of the right ear. His eyes glistened like fresh and glossy dark chocolate paste and his smile was as bright as ever,the scar beneath his eye remaining the same.
"Hey guys!" Luffy greeted back before returning to munching down on his food.
The Strawhats sighed,Luffy sure seemed like he didn't change all too much huh? Or at least,they think so. Luffy knew what happened in that one year,but maybe he should keep that a secret for now. Then the bell rang again and Ace was seen walking in through the door.
"Oi Lu!" Luffy snapped his head at Ace so fast Ace could've sworn he heard Luffy's neck almost snap.
Luffy quickly set down his food,wiped his mouth and launched himself at Ace who was amused to find that Luffy was almost his and Sabo's height now,which is impressive considering he's 195cm and Sabo's 193cm now.
"Ace!" Luffy yelled happily,the Strawhats idly noted Luffy didn't wrap his arms around Ace like rubber.
Ace laughed for a bit before he got tackled from behind as well,knocking the wind out of him easily. The Strawhats laughed as a familiar head of light blond wavy hair popped up from behind Ace and almost touching with Luffy's face. Luffy's face lit up like Christmas came early.
"Sabo!" Luffy said,already slipping past Ace and hugging Sabo,making the blond the one being hugged by the two ravens.
"Heh,hey Luffy!" Both older brothers greeted happily,shifting their positions quickly which had Luffy switch places with Sabo.
Those watching 'awe'd internally as Ace and Sabo showered Luffy with love,the young captain basking in the warmth and affection practically poured on him in galleons. Ace buried his face in Luffy's hair while Sabo nuzzled Luffy's cheek. Luffy nuzzled Sabo back as he reached behind Ace's ears and scratched the older raven behind his ears,making Ace go slack on him as he hit a nerve while scratching. Very soon,Ace and Sabo dragged Luffy to one of the seats near the windows and sat their little brother down. Luffy huffed a smile as he scratched Ace who was laying on his shoulder behind the ears while also lightly threading his fingers through Sabo's hair,the aforementioned blond making himself at home as he laid his head in Luffy's lap.
"Gods,can't go without getting a good scratch huh? Annoying dragons,the both of you." Luffy muttered good naturedly.
Ace and Sabo just purred softly in response. Robin raised an eyebrow,were dragons able to purr? She turned to look at Usopp,the sniper shrugging. Then the door opened again and Marco walked in with Thatch,Jozu and Rakuyo behind. The Phoenix walked up to Ace and poked the older raven in the side,making Ace jolt. Marco pointedly ignored the combined gazes of Ace and Sabo as he looked to Luffy.
"We're ready to leave at any moment now Luffy,just waiting on you." Luffy sent Marco a simple smile.
"Very well then,let's go guys!" Luffy exclaimed.
The Strawhats smiled as the followed their captain who now had two small lizard sized dragons,one with a blue flame color palette while the other had a red flame color palette perched on his shoulder and head. The Strawhats made idle conversation as they headed to Grove 42 where the Moby Dick was docked. They would be training with the Whitebeard Pirates for another year before they set out again.
As the group arrived at the Moby Dick,the Strawhats allowed a smirk to slip onto their faces. For now,this was their home for the next year. The world won't know what hit it when they returned

Also just for the sake of avoiding the damn well near inevitable questions,part of D Magic includes shapeshifting so Ace and Sabo went as Dragons. The rest will slowly revealed in later chapters.
