This is a prequel to Call Me Evil. If you haven't read it, that doesn't matter. It'll make things go in order. I highly suggest reading Call Me Evil!

Marinette Dupain-Cheng was always happy. Yeah, but she wasn't now. "I told you I'd win," Lila hissed. "Everyone is against you. And always will be." Marinette's heart pounded in her ears.

"They shouldn't have believed you," Marinette responded. "You're new. I'm their- their- their best friend."

"You are faltering. You aren't any more," Lila said. "But, I am." Lila then dropped her heavy books making a THUMP and laid down on the ground like she did when she framed Marinette for pushing her down the stairs. Crocodile tears ran down her face.

"What was that?" a red haired girl asked, but faltered with see Lila crying on the floor and Marinette standing in front of the girl.

"Alya, it's not what it looks like," Marinette said.

"Lila, what happened?" Alya asked, ignoring Marinette.

"I tried saying I would give her a second chance, and she got mad and said she would never be friends with me!" Lila said, shakily getting up. "She blamed me for taking all her friends away and pushed me down!" Alya glared at Marinette and slung an arm around Lila's shoulder.

"Marinette, I thought you were better than that," Alya said.

"Surely you don't believe I would do that, would you?" Marinette asked. "You know I wouldn't lay a finger on anyone aggressively, even if I don't like them!"

"Lila wouldn't lie like that!" Alya said. Lila's tears were falling faster down her cheeks, although Marinette knew they were fake.

"I'm trying to be your friend!" Lila said between sniffles.

"You would never try to be my friend! You know that! All you want to do is take away my friends and leave me suffering!" Marinette accused.

"Marinette!" Alya scolded.

"It's your fault you believe this liar, Alya!" Marinette said. "You haven't seen the things she's done to me! She's threatened me head-on!"

"Says the person you threatened her!" Alya shouted. "You're not my friend!"

Breaking

"You- you don't mean that, do you?" Marinette asked, voice quiet.

"I do."

Marinette then texted Adrien. Surely he would be on her side.

M: Hey, Adrien. Um- can we talk?

A: I'm on a date with Kagami right now. I can call you if you want, but what we talk about, Kagami should be able to hear. She's my girlfriend after all.

Breaking

M: No, no, you enjoy your date! Happy for you two!

A: Okay…

A: You sure?

M: Yeah.

Tears streamed down her face. Adrien was always with Kagami. Always. There was no way for anyone to believe her, even if Adrien believed her. Adrien was just too far to reach.

"Hey, Ladybug," Cat Noir said, plopping down beside Ladybug. "What's wrong?" Ladybug was silently crying.

"Everything!" Ladybug cried. "Just… everything."

"Tell me, I'm willing to listen," Cat Noir promised.

And she told him everything she could without revealing her identity. And he listened. Truly listened. Unlike anyone else. No one would see her side, but he would. He actually cared about her… But, the teasing had stopped. He wasn't in love with her. And she just realized she was in love with him.
