Prologue
Legend speaks of Heracles or Hercules the greatest Greek Hero of all time. He had performed 12 incredible Labors that even the gods were scared to perform. But the legend never spoke of his constant companion through his first 10 labors.
Named as Perseus, he was a man no boy hardly of ten when he started to accompany the Legendary Hero through his labors. Hailing from the city of Sparta and the son of the Spartan Princess Pleitrope and the Greek God of the Sea Poseidon. He was a descendant of the Great Sun God Helios.
He was trained by Chiron after his mothers' death due to the attack of a wild wolf that was set into the city by the vile goddess Athena in hope of destroying the city and her bitter rivals' son. Heracles who was hardly 16 years of age and just married to the Princess of Thebes set of in the hope to hunt it.
Heracles had met the Lord of the Sea who had gave him a beautiful sword crafted out of a combination of three metals of Celestial Bronze, Helion Gold (the material Lord Helios's chariot was made of) and Adamantine (a metal of the sea). He was given a mission to find Perseus and lead him onto the path towards Chiron and give him the sword.
Heracles had tracked the White Wolf which was dubbed The Bane of Sparta and what he saw made him question his whole life. The boy Perseus who he was sent to find was battling the wolf with nothing but a stick and his wits but that was to be expected he was a son of a Spartan Women and Spartans were bred for warfare.
The Olympians obviously observing Heracles for their entertainment (except Hera who was plotting his misery) had seen the boy. Lord Ares, who realized the Spartan blood that hungered for vengeance from this boy and had given him the tool to do so. A shield rather the shield. The shield which was dubbed as the shield of Heracles was actually Perseus's a gift from Lord Ares.
The shield landed in front of the boy who picked it up and used it to slay the Bane of Sparta. He used it to crush the wolf's windpipe and killed it instantly. He looked onwards to see Heracles crouching and armed with a bow immediately his instincts kicked in and instead of what any 6-year-old should do he charged Heracles with his shield and bashed him on the head. This caused a ringing sound to originate in Heracles' ears as the young demigod pulled out a sword too that was taller than him from a scabbard on Heracles's waist. So, formed a bond so strong between weapon and master that it never left it side and became a necklace on his neck.
The boy almost fell back when the sword transformed into a smaller easier to hold version of itself. Perseus took in the features of the sword to see it was made of three metals of the colors of bronze, gold and grey. The sword was originally 4 feet long (excluding the hilt) but now it was just one foot long (including the hilt). Its rain guard was made of bronze and a trident of the grey metal was on it. The other side had the same thing only the bronze was replaced by gold. From either side of the rain guard the grey metal completed the sword. From the tip of the rain guard a double helix made of gold rose out to the end of the sword. The middle of the helix was made of bronze. In simple the sword looked as beautiful as deadly.
The gods never stopped making fun of Heracles for the bang he had to suffer from little Perseus. After Heracles managed to stop Perseus's mad attacks, he told him about demigods, gods monsters and who his father was. Perseus listened carefully and understood the problems. He agreed to accompany Hercules back Chiron Heracles's mentor and teacher. Before going Hercules collected the wolf's pelt, claws and fangs. As they travelled Heracles grew closer to the boy and thought him sword fighting. The boy had a skill for hunting but couldn't shoot well. He used hunting knives with great agility.
Heracles instead of setting Perseus in the right path took him all the way because he enjoyed the company of the little guy too much. He dropped him off at Chiron's doorstep when Perseus had seen exactly six summers. He gave him the hide of the Bane of Sparta and gave him a set of hunting knives one made from the claws and another made from the fangs of the Wolf. Heracles also told the boy his sword had to have a name since it was unique in its own right much like his shield. The shield was named Wrath and the sword was named it Hurricane.
Perseus trained under the guidance of Chiron. Chiron had never had a better student and imparted everything he knew into the young lad. The boy was such a great learner and a diligent worker that he mastered everything Chiron had to teach him within four summers.
After his training was done Chiron had gifted him a bow made of a special tree. The tree was special cause it was from the tree of the golden apples from the garden of Hesperides. He was gifted a spear from his greatest grandfather Helios. The spear was made of a unique metal called Orynthic silver. It was special cause the metal was rare since it was used only during the golden age of the titans. The spear was named Maelstrom.
Chiron let the boy go at the age of ten albeit very reluctantly. The boy travelled long and hard and ran into a bunch of monsters like the Thebian Tiger a tiger as huge as an elephant and that had a mace in place of it's tail, the Amphisbaena a two headed snake monster that could spit venom, Dolopion Drakon a flying fire breathing Drakon whose touch froze and it's roar made enemies see their worst nightmares, the Chalchis Bull a huge bull whose horns were much bigger than it's body and the end of the horn was always on fire and the most dangerous of them all Dynanó a half human half dinosaur monster that terrorized people travelling to Delphi.
He reached Delphi after his perilous journey. No one knew what the Oracle told the half-blood but after that he went to Tiryns to talk to King Eurystheus. After it was confirmed by the gods, by sending down a divine Pegasus for Perseus to ride who was named Grígora, he had to join Heracles on his journey for penance after killing his family due to the madness he was driven into by Hera he joined Heracles on his labors.
He aided him in all the first 8 labors for four years with all his heart until he reached the gates of Themiscrya for their ninth. When they went for parley with the Queen Hippolyta for the belt, he laid eyes on the queen's sister Penthesilea. A young girl about his age. Heracles and Perseus stayed with the amazons for a lot of time. Heracles was getting to know the Queen and the two young ones Perseus and Penthesilea fell in love.
Hera who was watching and realized Heracles was convincing the Queen by telling her he would return the belt said there was being an assassination attempt on the queen and riled up all the Amazons. In the chaos that followed Perseus lost his love, Amazons lost their queen and their most valuable treasure and Heracles had his heart broken.
A lot of Amazons and even more Heracles's men died. The belt was given to the King Eurystheus' daughter for her name day and Perseus was never the same. They left for their tenth task and Heracles and Perseus got into many fights. After they managed to subdue Geryon and take his cattle Hera spun an evil plan. She plunged a huge river through the island and they couldn't cross it. Perseus was a son of Poseidon. He waded into the water and slowed the current down. The water was freezing and he couldn't keep it up for long. Heracles helped the cattle pass but when it came to him a huge Scorpion attacked him. Erytheian Scorpions, they were called. Perseus fought the beats off and killed him but at the cost of his life. He was frozen and killed and a huge mountain range took over the river. Heracles destroyed half the mountains in his rage trying to find his beloved friend who hasn't even seen any happiness other than battles and killings in his short life. He searched for days and found nothing. Dejected he went back and delivered the cattle. The next two tasks only made Heracles mad. He was horrible to everyone around him in his sorrow for losing the best friend nay his only friend. He killed everyone in his path to his finish his labors and then after six years of hard work he managed to succeed and was free. He went around to do exactly what Perseus wanted to do after these labors live a nice quiet life with some one "special" as he used to say but alas Heracles never received the quiet life he died not long after and the gods decided to make him a god and god he became and his life finally found peace.
But Perseus no one ever found his dead body. No one other than the gods remember him. Why? Simple he was a son of Poseidon not a son of Zeus. He was hated by both Hera and Athena because he was accompanying Heracles and he was a son of Poseidon respectively and Zeus didn't want his son to have to share the glory and until now he was forgotten. His right was fought on in the Olympian Council by his father, Lord Hades, Lord Apollo, Lady Artemis and Lady Artemis. But that will change as Jack Vicar, son of Zeus, Annabeth Chase daughter of Athena and Thalia Grace Daughter of Zeus landed at Westover Hall to meet their friend Grover Underwood a satyr to help transport some strong demigods he found and keep them safe from a monster that went extinct a long time ago since Perseus was forgotten and so were his tales of heroism and the monsters he fought.
