It was a normal day in the Loud house, It was strangely quiet. All of the siblings were silenced for some odd reason, It was quite unnatural to have a peaceful and quiet house. It just didn't feel right to everyone, but they wanted to enjoy the peace while it lasted.
Lincoln was doing his usual routine, reading the latest ace savvy comic issue in his underwear, hoping that nothing ruins this peace.
"Yo Stinkoln!" Lynn yelled as she kicked the door open, scaring the boy as he quickly jumped up out of his bed, looking at his sister with a scarred face which quickly changed into annoyance.
"Lynn what the heck, what are you doing?!" Lincoln called out as he got up.
"Get dressed loser, I need you to help me get groceries at the mall with mom."
"You mean you need me to take care of everything while you try to sneak into the back and beat the meat," Lincoln said
"Look just hurry up, I need to deal with all this pent-up energy I have," Lynn said as she grabbed Lincoln legs and pulled him out of bed and out of his room, much to the boy dismay
-One change of clothes and a long drive later-
Lincoln was already bored out of his mind in the car, and now in the mall, he didn't know which bore him more. He followed his mom and sister, listening to every useless detail that his mother would occasionally give as she saw an item that was 'important to everyone, but he knew it was all about what she liked.
"Hey Lincoln, hurry up you're slowing us down, can a wimp like you even get move any slower?" Lynn said with disgust in her voice, making Lincoln feel like he's petty, the odd's one out.
"S-Shut up Lynn, I'm walking as normal as I can. You don't have to make an insult about how fast or slow I walk, it's just walking, Lynn.." Lincoln said,
"You two stop fighting, I don't want to get kicked out again by the manager like last time, you remember it right?" Rita said, looking at both kids who were poking each other and blowing raspberries.
"But mom, that wasn't even my fault. She started it!" Lincoln whined out to his mother.
"I don't care who started it, I want it to end now," Rita said sternly, making a death stare at the two kids.
"Yes ma'am," they both said in unison as they looked down at the floor. As Rita turned Lynn hit her brother on the arm, causing him to yelp which she quickly ended as she placed her hand over his mouth, silencing him so she wouldn't get in trouble.
"Don't make it any harder than it already is, stinkoln. Stop being such a dweeb." Lynn said as she left him standing there who was rubbing his forming bruise, following her mother.
"Okay I'm going to go check on something, you two behave and don't cause any trouble," Rita said as he fixed her purse that was hanging by her forearm, leaving the kids as she walked into the perfume section, talking with the cashier and checking out the perfume that she would spray on her arm. As she did, Lynn sneaked off to the food court, grabbing the twenty-dollar bill that was in her pocket from Lincoln's allowance and went to buy a meatball sub, leaving Lincoln alone once again.
Lincoln felt stranded, this time he was really alone. He walked in the same direction that he saw her mom and sister go, no sign of them. He checked every direction, from section to section that's in the mall. Not a sight of his Lynn or his mom. So he decided to just give up on that and headed towards the comic shop, checking if there were any newly released ace savvy comics or any other types of comic that he could read which is superhero related, nothing came out for ace savvy and there wasn't anything related to fictions. That is until a very particular one titled playboy. Lincoln had a look of surprise as he looked around, this was the first time he had seen something like this, sure his dad had some but he always hides them in a new place. It was more surprising for him that they'd still make this since they have the internet now and can look up whatever they want nowadays. But it never hurts to look at an ancient relic of porn.
He was clueless currently, he had no idea what to do or where to go, he would want to go to the manager of the mall, or maybe a cop so they can try to use the speakers in finding his mom, but he didn't know if they were still in the mall, so he decided to look more, luck was his current key right now. if worse things come to worst he'd just go back home. He would look at people occasionally who would look at him weirdly, it was quite odd for other people to see a boy with white hair, they couldn't tell if he was an old man trying to be young again, or just a random kid with albinism, they would make a questioning face when they looked at him. It sort of ticked him off, but they didn't do anything wrong, you don't usually see albino's around here in Royal Woods. Except for that family, Lincoln thought were his parents.
After an hour of aimlessly searching for his family, his stroke of luck finally hit, It was Lynn, as much as he didn't want to feel relief to see his bully he was happy to find a familiar face.
"Lynn!" Lincoln called out as she ran towards her, but as he got close enough, Lynn saw him, she scoffed and started to walk away.
This time Lincoln was able to be with her, but at a distance this time, but he was still happy to see his sister in his eyes.
"Lynn wait up, where are you going?" The white bunny-haired boy asked, looking over at his sister.
"Oh my god, what do you want Stinkoln! Can't you see i'm busy?" She said in annoyance, as she rolled her eyes and put her hand on her hip.
"You don't seem busy," he said, trying his best not to seem desperate
"Well I am, why don't you go bother Mom, you little twerp." She said as she went up to Lincoln, pushing him back. He almost tripped from her push, he looked at the people who were looking at the two, trying his best not to look like a shrimp around the people and her.
"I…I can't find her." He admitted. "I got lost trying to follow you." Lincoln stuttered out, rubbing his arm in embarrassment.
"God what the hell is wrong with you, you know that's your problem you're too clingy. God how is it that I have a brother like you. You are so useless." Lynn said as she got close to his face.
"Lynn why are you bein-."
"And another thing, how can someone like you be such a wimp, you're a man aren't you? Find her yourself " She interrupted, bulging her chest out to push him back, making him fall back onto the ground.
"You know things would've been a lot better if you were just never born!" Lynn said hate in her voice, as she looked down at her scared brother who was covering his face in fear, tears were starting to form up in his eyes and stream on his cheek.
"Oh what now are you going to cry like the little mistake you are!" Lynn yelled at her brother, causing a scene in front of many people, who covered their mouths in shock. Lincoln got up and started running away trying to hold his tears back, while Lynn didn't have a care in the world where his brother would end up and be lost.
Lincoln ran out of the mall's exit doors and just kept running and running until he was out of breath, but he still had some steam left in him. He soon stopped as he reached Flips food and fuel
Rita arrived later after thirty minutes, she saw her daughter with a pissed-off face.
"Lynn where is your brother?" She asked, with a concerned face.
"Tch, beats me. He just ran like a little bitch he is." Lynn swore about his brother, Rita was shocked and agape. No way did his older sister talk about his little brother like that, she taught her better than this! She disappointed her.
"LYNN!" Rita yelled at her daughter embarrassingly, grabbing her by the hand and brought her outside for a talk.
-Meanwhile-
Lincoln went inside the gas station that his friend Flip owned, he was a decent man, sure a cheapskate, but he was a nice guy overall.
"How's it going Lincoln?" Flip said as he was wiping the dust of his desk where the cash register as he looked up at the white-haired boy.
"Nothing much sir, just...had some issues with someone. Can I stay here for a bit, but please don't tell my parents right now! They can wait...I'll go home eventually." Lincoln pleaded at the old man, he was a pinch close to getting on his knees to beg.
Flip noticed the troubles in the boy's voice and reaction, begging just to stay at the gas station for a while? Sounds like he ran away from his family.
"Ehh, don't worry kid. I won't tell anyone without your permission, how about you just sit at my desk in the manager's office and we can talk it out if you want to."
Lincoln nodded with appreciativeness and followed him back.
"Just eh don't touch anything and we won't have any problems, got it?" Flip said, looking over at Lincoln with a smile.
Lincoln nodded as he watched him leave back at the register to finish up cleaning, he looked into Flip's drawer and saw a pack of cheap Melbourne cigarettes, which he pulled out of the drawer cautiously and placed it into his pocket. His curiosity will get the best of him when he'll be able to try it out, right now he just needed a break and time to think about what just happened and what he's gonna do.
Lincoln was in a deep mental state of thinking about his family and about himself, was he the wrong of the family? Or is his family. He's the type of man to put other's happiness first before his own. Ever since he heard Lynn say that the family would've been better if he was never born, it would repeat in his mind constantly which made him hold back tears that would hurt his mind and nose. He grabbed a tissue to wipe his mucus and tears clean, but they would come back at the thought of Lynn's insult. He always had thick skin, but this time her words, the feeling that she put into them was far times greater than her usual roasts, this was actually from her own heart and it cut right through him. He stared at the stick of tobacco, placed it in his mouth, and looked at the lighter that was sitting on his Flip's desk and took it and placed it in his pocket, maybe later.
Lincoln then went back to the front counter of the store and went up to his register, left what little change he had, and placed them there as appreciation, he smiled and left the store with a "Thanks".
Flip smiled back at him and took the change, placing it in his pocket with a nod at the end. He went back into his office, grabbing the keys for the store, and went outside, placing on his jacket and closing up the store since no one's gonna come during the rush hour, he might as well have a break and go back home.
As Lincoln started to walk on the pavement to go back home, he looked at the sunset. It was a bright orange sky with a small sight of little clouds flowing through the air. This is what life was supposed to feel like, dazy and smooth. He started to think about how life would be like if he had all brothers, would they respect him more? or be even worse than his sisters now.
"Lynn, I've taught you so many things, and I always tried to make you the best-behaved than the rest of your siblings, but Lynn, you really went too far to curse about your brother like that." Rita scolded her daughter, she really believed in her to protect him when he needed her the most, and here she is cursing about his own brother.
"What did you say to him, Lynn?" Rita asked with concern and a questioning look, placing a hand on her shoulder, but she refused to answer. "Lynn you better tell, or so help me…"
"Fine, you really wanna know what I said to him? I said he shouldn't have been born! It would've been better if he was a girl!, he's just such...a freaking wimp! I hate him so much!" Lynn then felt a hard slap against her cheek as she looked back and saw her mother's palm beside her own face.
"Ow, what was that f..." Lynn then saw her mother tearing up.
"I do my best to raise you, kids, sure I've made mistakes, but I think the only mistake I see is now is how we've been ignoring all of this." She said holding back tears. "Lynn you are going to go out there and find your brother and don't bother coming back without him!" She said as she left Lynn at the mall, walking away by the exit, and walked back home, leaving a confused Lynn.
"Stupid Lincoln! Why can't that loser just stand up for himself? He's just so frustrating to deal with, he's the biggest wimp I've ever met in my life." Lynn vented to herself, nobody noticed gladly, but as soon as she left the front doors, the doors loudly made a closing noise, echoing around the whole mall.
Lynn started walking through the streets, finding her way to many places where Lincoln would usually hang out, she asked and checked from the neighbors, asked the Mcbrides, the Casagrandes, not a single sight of Lincoln.
Mom and dad are so totally gonna get pissed If I don't bring him back home with me. Lynn thought to herself, sighing of defeat. She was confused for the hatred for Lincoln, she may be said it out of anger? Or she said it out of her own heart, both ways made her angry and confused about Lincoln.
Why is it always about Lincoln, Lincoln that, Lincoln this, but never about LYNN, why do the rest care about him more than me!? Is it because he's a boy?! No, no of course not, my sisters aren't sexist...are they? Lynn's ideas for why Lincoln is being...Lincoln became so crazy to the point where she thought If she was gonna get everyone to care about her even more, she'd need to do something to him to get lots of attention because saving him in a purpose-made situation will just lead everyone horde to Lincoln and not give a single 'thanks' to me about it.
Lynn got angry, why would his scumbag brother do such a thing and always try to get her in trouble every day of her life.
"I don't regret saying all that crap about him, what do I have to lose? I'd be happy to lose him either way!" She ranted to herself as she walked aggressively trying to find her brother.
After a couple of hours trying to find her brother, there was no sign, she went to flips, which he didn't say a word about or known anything, she went back to the mcbrides and Ronnie-Anne, no sign of him, she went back home with her hands in her pockets with a scolding face, her parents saw her with a disappointment look as they nodded their heads.
"Psch, couldn't find him, find him yours-" She was interrupted as Lynn Sr. pointed at the white-haired boy who was standing by the fridge, grabbing a snack. She facepalmed her face quite hard that it made a red handprint on the bridge of her nose and forehead.
"So Stinkoln was here the whole time but you don't bother to call me and tell me about it, huh?" she said, pulling out her phone and shaking it in front of her parent's face with an annoyed face.
All of the sisters noticed her slightly annoyed mood, it annoyed them too. It couldn't be her time of the month, she was just naturally bitchy they all thought.
"What's your problem lately, young lady? Is something bothering you?" Rita asked her sporty daughter with a concerning yet mad look, placing her palm on her shoulder, rubbing it slightly for comfort and trust.
"Yeah, you know what there is? It's that freaking waste of space Lincoln! He's just such a...cockroach! My god, how annoying he is and he's just such a wimp mom! How could you have a son like him, honestly things were better when it was just all girls?!" Lynn yelled at her mom, and looked at Lincoln with a cold stare which slightly frightened him on the inside, but tried to look cool on the outside which he did perfectly.
"Young lady, I've already talked to you about this once, and here you are bringing it up again?! Are you really even my daughter, are you hearing what you're saying! Have you lost your mind?!" Rita yelled back at her daughter, she was trying her best not to tear up so she wouldn't look weak in front of everybody, but oh man was she close to doing it, everybody could tell she was about to but didn't want to mention it.
"Of course I am mom! I clearly have ears, can you not se-" She was interrupted by another striking pain on her cheek again, she saw her mother with her holding her palm, this hit a bolt into her core.
"You fucking bitch!" Lynn yelled out to her mom as she held out her arms to get a strike back at her own mother and try to tackle her. All the siblings and the father tried to stop her. Lincoln was silently looking at the whole scene with a deadpan face as if he never had a care for the world, he looked at Lynn, she looked back with bloodshot eyes of anger, he didn't feel any intimidation from her and looked into her soul.
"Nice one Lynn, like always you cause all these problems because you, for some reason, have a problem with me for no reason at all and make all your mistakes my problem, try to be the bigger person and a better sister next time you bitch." Lincoln said without any emotions.
Everyone looked at the duo, save Lisa and Lily as they were in their own rooms but still listening in on the whole fight, they all looked at each other and then grabbed onto both Lynn and Lincoln, parting them away from each other.
Lynn was the only one fighting back at her own father's and sister's strength all onto her, sadly she couldn't make it out since there were more people now grabbing onto her, leaving Lincoln with only two since he wouldn't do a thing but just stare.
"I'll fucking kill you Lincoln, I swear I really will one day." She said at the boy, trying to spit on him, missing and it aimed onto his shoe.
Everyone looked at the psychotic daughter/sister, it was horrendous, when did she ever start to act like this? Lincoln never did anything wrong. She really lost it, everyone thought.
"Ladies, take her to your, um...what's it called? Your sibling's meetings?" Lynn Sr asked.
They all nodded and held Lynn, dragged her as she tried to break free.
"You girls need to talk some sense into her! We'll join in shortly." Rita called out to all her daughters, which they all didn't answer back but slightly nodded at each other to.
Rita and Lynn Sr. looked at their only son, who wore a hoodie over his head while looking down as he was eating his cheese and crackers. It was so unusual of him to act so...Lucy-like. They'd have to talk with him too, they looked at each other and nodded, Rita grabbed his hand and took him to his room, closing it behind them.
"What the hell is your problem, Lynn! Why have you been acting like this lately! " Lori groaned, as she pinched the bridge of her nose, ending the sentence with a sigh.
All of the sisters nodded and looked at Lynn who was sitting there, acting as if she was refusing to talk to them at all.
"Alright Lynn, what the heck is wrong with you, and what's your problem against your brother?" Lori asked with a stern and slightly yelling tone.
Lynn stayed silent for a little, thinking about how she could answer, there was no sugar coating it. She'd have to go deep in and talk with what her heart believes and thinks.
She sighed silently and opened her mouth, "Alright, I'm gonna be honest with you, since Lincoln is not here and all, just hear me out before you judge me, and don't try to interrupt, got it?" She said, looking at every sister that's sitting on the beds or ground.
All of the sisters nodded, placing their hands on their laps and pointed their eyes at the sportswoman, and listened to her reasoning.
"Okay, the reason why I have a problem with a dweeb like him-" She was then interrupted as Lola put her hand up and tried to speak, but her twin sister Lola quickly shut her mouth with her hand and shushed her. The princess was always a short-tempered one, but she knew the consequences of what Lynn would do to her if she disobeyed her orders, she obeyed and closed her mouth.
"As I was saying," She scoffed and looked at Lola and then everyone, "Lincoln was just a pain in the ass to handle and live with. Was it not hard for you to deal with him Lori?" She asked, looking at her eldest sibling, to which she replied, "Sure he was when he was young," emphasizing her words, rolling her eyes.
"Right, when he was young, but he's still young now, isn't he? What's the difference?" Lynn asked, looking back at Lori.
"You literally didn't just ask that stupid question, Lynn. When I meant was, I meant when he was little, like five or eight, he's twelve now, he grew a brain and now understands" Lori said with a facepalm, sighing.
Lynn kept her cool when she called her stupid, "Alright, I somewhat get your point, but think about it, hasn't Lincoln always been our problems? He would always try to interfere with our problems, and when we had our problems fixed, he would make it worse?" She said with hate in her voice.
"Yeah, but when he did, he would always try to fix it and he always does fix it! Does he not?" Luna said, protecting her brother with her words, telling the truth. Lynn's temper started to rise as she heard her sisters trying to prove her wrong. This time, her heart was right. They were speaking the truth, but her brain is far more superior and made herself believe they're all bull-shiting in front of her face.
"That's enough, I knew I shouldn't have told you guys anything, with you guys making all this random crap up to protect him. Fuck all of you guys." She said silently, so her parents wouldn't hear her swear again and try to avoid getting another slap. She quietly left the room, leaving the sisters agape and silent, looking at each other, trying to comprehend what just happened.
"Lincoln sweetie, I don't really know how to say this, but remember, we're completely not blaming you, sweetheart, we just want an honest opinion from you, okay?" Rita said as she kissed her son's forehead, lightly scratching his scalp for comfort.
"Uh, sure mom alright, so what is it exactly you need to talk about? And let's get it out the way, I know it's about Lynn, but what do you need to know about my view for Lynn?" Lincoln asked as he placed his hand in his two in one pocket in front of his hoodie by the belly.
"It's good that you understand son, we just needed to be sure." Lynn Sr. said to his son, placing his hand on his shoulder, making him feel like a man and have a very important conversation like his father did with his own dad.
"No problem dad, anyway, what's your question mom?" Lincoln asked his mother, waiting for her response.
"Lincoln, do you think you ever...done anything wrong to your sisters? Like...feel like the odd's one out of all of them?" She asked the question painfully, trying her best not to have a lump in her throat while speaking to her son. It was a question no mother should've asked or wanted to ask, but it had to come either way.
It was painfully obvious that Lincoln knew her mom was trying her best not to sound rude, he didn't want to sound too depressing and act like he didn't care or else she would just question him even more than she already needs to, it was starting to bug him a little.
"Um, no not really mom. I have thick skin, so I don't really care about their normal itty bitty backtalk at me, I can handle it perfectly fine. I don't think of them any less or better than me" He lied to his mother, the words would always repeat in the boy's head of what Lynn said in the mall, but he didn't try to make a fuss about it to his parents.
"Good thinkin' Lincoln, that's what a real man does and how he lives. Mature at such a young age brings a tear to my eye." His father said jokingly, as he fake wiped his tears, the trio in the room chuckled a little, including Lincoln as to act for the sake of his parents.
"Heh, yeah thanks, dad. Anyway guys, are your questions over? Or is there anything else you need to talk about? I'm sorry that I'm sounding to rude and fast pace, I just need some alone time to think and just enjoy life as is, like you said dad, It's what a real man does and how he lives, and right now, I need to live this moment" Lincoln smiled at his parents, they didn't think of it weird for a son to have his own peace and quiet, they completely understood and nodded, respecting their privacy, they got up, not before giving a hug and closing the door behind him, leaving Lincoln sitting on his bed, smiling as he waved goodbye to them.
Once they finally left, he quickly took the cigarette pack out of his pocket, as he was trying his best not to fidget with it in front of his parents before and placed it in the drawer, closing it shut and locking it with a key where he only knows where he hides it, and it's all right in his head.
Lynn stormed out of their room, going back to her own, she noticed how both her parents left Lincoln's room just now as she was passing by. She had a plan for later on, right now she needed some time to think.
All of the sisters who were in the meeting room were now leaving back to their own respective rooms, and talk about the meeting with their roommates, but that wasn't the case for Lucy, It was gonna be awkward to back inside, but she had no other choice, dad locked the vents and the basement until it was clean for her to use, she was suffering.
The goth walked into her shared bedroom, she saw Lynn staring out the window with her chin on the nightstand, she was in deep thought. She didn't want to bother her so she quietly went on her bed and straight into her coffin with a book that she was holding.
Lynn heard her roommate come in, but she didn't mind and didn't want to make it any more awkward than it already was.
I don't know what's happening with everyone, it's like nothing ever happened before in the past, they just remember Lincoln being innocent when it's totally not, is it me or everyone else that's going crazy? There's no way I'm going crazy...am I? Lynn thought her own sanity was being taken into her own deep thought, making many pros and cons about her and her sisters, not being able to tell who's wrong and right. Neither her heart nor brain would go for either as the votes amongst herself are unbalanced.
"Argh, I can't take this anymore. I have to do something to end this all...make this right…" Lynn said to herself quietly, it didn't go unheard by her roommate, but she didn't want to cause any trouble and left her to do whatever needed to be done to have her own sanity back and understanding. If worse came to worst, she and the siblings would have to intervene.
Lynn left the room and walked down the hall, it was a wild west. All the ladies in their own rooms watched Lynn walk to Lincoln's door, they were anxious.
She made it to his door, knowing that everybody is watching her. She turns the knob, knowing that Lincoln wouldn't even lock his door. She didn't care if she was gonna cause trouble, because there's an issue that she needs to fix right now.
She barged into the boy's room and looked at him who was sitting there, staring into the window just like she did, but it was as if he was looking at an abyss of emptiness, she didn't know why it looked like that, but it was something that'd she'd hear during English class when it comes to poetry. She was no poetic but thinking of it like that couldn't be more understandable than that small sentence.
"Lincoln, get up and look at me. We need to talk, right now." She said in a stern voice, going up to him closer from his behind, as she was reaching out her hand to hold onto his shoulder, he quickly slapped it away. She didn't know how he knew that she was gonna grab him, there was no shiny mirror where you could see someone behind them, it's a mirror where you can only see the outside, and just the outside, reflection is not within it.
"Get lost, Lynn. Now is it not the time for your shenanigans." Lincoln said as non-emotional as he could, he became more blatant recently than ever before. It surprised the rest of the sister that he would do that to the biggest bully of the house. He had guts, for sure.
"What did you just say?" She said to the white-haired boy who had his back facing her, not only did it feel like an insult, it was annoying. There's no way she's gonna let a punk like him try to bad mouth her and him get away from it.
She did what she does best, fighting. She quickly and daringly threw her arms up to grab onto Lincoln, but he caught them the second he turned around. It was as if he was waiting for this moment. Lincoln made a fist and it was aiming for her stomach.
It didn't take a second to get all of the sisters to evacuate Lynn out of his room, they all grabbed onto her arms, legs, and chest and dragged her out of his room. Lincoln took a last look at her troubled sports sister and mouthed a bitch at her as she was taken away from his room. A vein popped out on the temple of her head, she was going totally crazy and mad over nothing.
Why is everything just so...weird?
