Kurt had never walked in on anything cuter, than the scene he walked into when he got home from work. He had been at the theatre all day, dealing with a complete costume disaster for the show in two days...he literally spent 8 hours taking apart and re-stitching most of the shabby work he was presented with.

He had fired the seamstress after that, even though he hated to fire people, he had given her a chance to shine and she blew it. But it was all fixed now, after calling in some help from a friend, and he had left the costumes on all the right hangers in the right rooms for the actors and actresses to put on for dress rehearsal tomorrow.

But right now...this is what Kurt had missed. He had had to call his husband to pick their son up from drama club after school, because he was going to miss it. Blaine only worked about two blocks away from their son's middle school, working as a voice control teacher, or a voice coach as many of his students would call him.

Kurt and Blaine had worked together in the theatre for many many years, and they had run a few very successful shows between them. Blaine's passions lay more with helping others achieve their dreams of performing though, so he applied in the local college and got accepted right away. With 5 years of teaching under his belt now, he had moved his sights onto teaching their son to sing.

Their son, Theo, was a tiny version of Blaine, through and through. He had his hair, his eyes and his smile, and Kurt loved seeing the tiny little carbon copy of his husband. Kurt didn't think he could ever love someone that much, but as soon as the little mini Blaine was placed in his arms at the hospital, with a weary husband beside him and an exhausted Santana on the bed, he had fallen completely head over heels for his son.

Now watching in the kitchen doorway, at Blaine and Theo singing 'Never Gonna Give You Up' at the top of their lungs together, made Kurt's heart feel fluttery and light. After a hard day at work, he needed his family to help him lift the weight off of his shoulders.

Theo was using a hairbrush as a microphone, and at 9 years old now, he was just past Blaine and Kurt's stomachs in height, although a little inch or two more on Blaine, he was dancing around the kitchen, matching his father's moves left and right.

Blaine had the biggest grin on his face while they were singing to each other, and Kurt smiled softly at the love and pride he could see on his husband's face. Theo was the one thing they had always been their dream come true.

"Never gonna give you up

never gonna let you down,

never gonna run around and desert you!" Theo belted out loudly, in a voice that was still childlike but amazingly good, just like Kurt knew he would be.

"Never gonna make you cry

never gonna say goodbye,

never gonna tell a lie

and hurt you!" Blaine sang back in that silky low tone that Kurt loved. Blaine's voice was a little older sounding now, them being in their late 30's, but no less magical.

Kurt didn't make any noise as he continued to watch them playing about, Blaine would twirl one way and Theo would do the opposite, sliding their backs past each other before grinning as they faced each other again. Kurt wanted to laugh at how similar they both looked, Theo had a thing for bowties, just like his father.

His bowtie today was red and white striped, Blaine's was blue and white striped. Theo's short sleeved shirt was a very pale turquoise colour, that Kurt had loved when he picked it out, Blaine's shirt was white, with very thin blue lines running over it, his cuffs rolled up to his elbows. Theo's jeans were faded slate grey, and Blaine's were black.

They both had bare feet as they twirled around the kitchen.

"Never gonna give you up

never gonna let you down

never gonna run around

and desert you."

"Never gonna make you cry

never gonna say goodbye,

never gonna tell a lie

and hurt you!"

As the music faded out on a final spin from both of them, Kurt couldn't help the chuckle that bubbled up and out of his throat. He clapped his hands loudly as they both turned to look at him with slight surprise.

"Baby!"

"Daddy!" Theo launched himself across the kitchen tile, and threw his arms around Kurt's waist, Kurt placed his arms around his son's shoulders, before sliding the fingers of one hand through his son's curly dark hair. "You're finally back."

Those bright hazel eyes looking at him from across the kitchen, were matching the ones staring up at him from his stomach, and both those matching grins directed at him made Kurt's chest feel warm..

"I didn't know i was walking into a mini concert. That made my day so much better." He said as he bent to press a kiss to Theo's nose, and then turned his head up to his husband as he saw him walk over.

"When you said it was a costume disaster, i didn't think we were expecting you until much later." Blaine said as he leaned in to seal their lips together in a sweet kiss, Kurt lingered in it as long as he could.

"Yes, it would have been a lot later, but i called in the cavalry a.k.a Tina, to help me." Kurt explained and Blaine nodded in understanding.

"We were making tacos for dinner, and got a little distracted." Blaine told him and winked down at their son, who laughed while his arms were still wrapped around Kurt's waist.

"Greasy food is just the right thing for today, although my two favourite men singing was my favourite part." Kurt gave both his husband and his son a big smile, and Theo let go of him only to pull him into the kitchen to where they were cooking.

Even though Kurt had spent hours upon hours making his fingers sore from all the different fabrics he had sewn today, he really couldn't say no to joining in making dinner. He loved cooking with Blaine and Theo, it was their family thing to do. Ever since Theo was 5 years old he had been interesting in cooking with them, mostly baking with Kurt. So they all cooked together as a family as often as they could.

It was relaxing being with his little family, and once everyone was sitting down at the table, Theo divulging what had happened in his drama club today, Blaine took Kurt's hand in his and placed a small kiss on the back of it. They shared a soft look and a smile, before asking Theo questions about his day.

This was his favourite part of any day. Just talking to each other about everything and nothing. Whether he was tired or grumpy or lazy, this is what family was for. This is just what he needed.
