Derek stepped out of his Mustang, it was around 7:30PM and he was currently starring at his family home. Though it looked a lot different than he remembered. Someone had rebuilt the house and it looked like it was in use, the lights were on and he heard voices coming from the home.

"Malia you need to make a conscious effort to please not scratch up the upholstery, I know you're still learning control but I just had this placed fixed. Thanks", He heard from a voice he knew then heard a low growl from a girl he did not know.

"Peter?" he questioned out loud as he went to the door.

Before he could knock a young lady opened the door, though he didn't know her he could feel a connection with her. Not only that but she looked so familiar but he couldn't place it, while in that thought he heard the low growl coming from the girl.

"Peter, some lurker is at the door." The girl yelled, as she did Peter came up behind her.

"Oh, be nice Malia its family. Derek welcome home." Peter said and moving her and himself to the side motioned him to come inside.

A confused Derek entered the home, it looked almost exactly like it had used to when he was young before the fire though a bit more up to date. Then he looked to Peter who last, he had known was in a catatonic state and burned all over. Peter smiled at him and looked to Malia who had already gone upstairs.

"Don't mind her, no manners that one." Peter said with a smirk before walking towards the living room.

"Sit down, I'm sure you have many questions" Peter said to Derek who although walked with him was still in a manner of shock.

It took Derek a minute, but he finally shook himself out of his stupor and now looked at his uncle who sat on a nice velvet chair in front of the fireplace while Derek stood there in the middle of the room. Peter stood back up sitting him down on the leather couch which was close to the chair he had been sitting in.

"Peter, tell me everything." Derek demanded.

"Well that was hostile" Peter said with a smirk

"Now." Derek said his eyes started to glow blue as he stared at his uncle.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you." Peter said with a crooked smile, his eyes now glowing a crimson red he stared down Derek who tried to act defiant but eventually backed down hearing him growl.

"The power of an alpha, that's no yours. What happened to Laura?" Derek questioned him further.

"There we are, an actual question." Peter said.

With that Peter explained to Derek how he vividly started coming too a year ago during full moons, one of those full moons it just so happened he had run into Laura. She had come to town after a rampaging animal had been attacking people during full moons. She however was not strong enough to put Peter down as he was out of control, however after killing Laura that opened his mind again. He after gaining the alpha status regained his senses though not before biting a young boy the full moon prior. With the alpha power he healed faster and then went to find the young boy immediately, the boy's name was Scott McCall. Peter also explained how he wanted to turn more after Scott but the young beta was adamant no too for it might draw unwanted attention and he still had a soft spot for hurting others. Though he also said if things had got bad he had a few candidates lined up which Scott approved of but not unless it was truly needed. He took to being one of us like a fish to water for the mot part is how he explained it to Derek. I also buried Laura out back in the family cemetery giving her alpha rights as she deserved, though that was only recently which he had let that information out to the public.

"So, she has been dead for months and I didn't know. Why did you only now let the information out?" Derek asked

"Simple, I have a plan. It involves getting revenge on the people who set the fire to our home and killed our family." Peter said.

"What about the girl?" Derek asked.

"Oh, blame the kid for that. Scott was out and about, and he happened to run into her, he forced her to change after he realized she wasn't just a normal coyote." Peter explained.

Peter continued to explain what had happened in the last year, he went on about how Malia's father had hung himself soon after his daughters and wife had died. How he adopted her as the boy grew a soft spot for the girl and he didn't want to sour the relationship with his new Beta. He also explained how he had been training them both for what was coming. The fight they had planned was soon coming to fruition.

"You see Derek, all the information I put out and what I've been doing was to get our enemies to come to us." Peter said.

Derek was astounded at all this new information and though angry at his uncle for what happened to Laura however he also knew that this kind of thing happened in the werewolf community all the time. He had his suspicions about his uncle, but he had no proof so for now he would believe him.

"So, Derek. Will you help me?" he asked him.

"Fine but I swear if I find even a shred of this isn't true ill rip out your throat with my teeth." He said.

The Next Day

Scott woke the next morning at 5AM he and Malia had taken to doing an early morning runs to get them going for the day. Walking downstairs he saw his mom's car in the driveway 'she must have worked a double and be sleeping now' Scott thought. Entering his kitchen, he heard her walk through the door. Malia smiled at the young teen, they had grown quite close during the summer and she had even met Stiles not too long ago. Walking in with some bags of food he smelled it and smirked.

"Let me guess, when we get back for breakfast you want deer bacon and eggs." Scott said plainly

"You know me all too well Scott." She said giving him the bag he out them in the fridge.

"So, did you get my text last night." Malia asked seriously.

"Yeah, so what if Peters nephew joins us. If Peter trusts him why shouldn't we?" Scott asked.

"I just get a broody feeling from him; I also don't think he fully trusts Peter." Malia said matter of facilely.

"Well let's start our run." Scott said changing the subject.

Somehow Scott always found himself a little behind the werecoyote her long brunette hair blowing in the breeze, wearing her short shorts and tang top. Though he hated she was faster he had always liked the view, he smirked as he tried to catch up staring at her ass as they ran. They finished mile 8 right around 6AM which gave them both enough time to shower, eat and get ready for school. Malia had brought herself a bag of clothes as she had done most of the summer to change into after the run.

"Always just a bit ahead." Malia said smirking as she watched him finishing just after she did.

"Well, I like the view." Scott said smirking, then held his as she hit him lightly on the shoulder.

"'I'm showering first." Malia said as she rushed up the stairs.

Scott had smiled as he started breakfast, this was how most of his morning went these days, morning run, make breakfast, shower, then get ready for the rest of his day. Stiles normally came not too long after Malia did though during the summer it was always in the afternoon. Though he knew he would come earlier today so they could all get to school. After Malia finished her shower called down to Scott to let him know, walking into his room he found Malia only in her underwear. He blushed as he caught the glimpse of her though he was starting to think these days she was doing it on purpose.

"Can you please put some clothes on before I come in." Scott pleaded for probably the hundredth time.

"Why, you've seen me naked plenty of times after shifting." Malia said still as blunt as ever.

"Well Malia you see it causes some issue when a boy see's a girl… you know why. I'm headed into the shower." Scott said moving into the bathroom he shut the door having enough of explaining this again.

Malia grinned as she smelled the food downstairs though it wasn't only that it was that fact she knew she was getting to Scott. Annoying him and making him uncomfortable was sort of her new pass time. Sitting in the kitchen she heard Stile's jeep outside.

"Hello, my two summer lovers!" Stiles said sarcastically, he could almost hear Malia's signature growl before he saw her.

"We aren't lovers. Don't make me hurt you" Malia said lightly growling.

"Ok, okay. Sorry it was just a joke. So where is Scott?" Stiles asked.

"He is finishing his shower and should be down soon." She told him.

Speak of the devil he did, Scott heard his name just as he finished putting on his shoes, quickly grabbing his backpack and lacrosse stuff he went downstairs. Seeing Stiles in the kitchen and the slight scowl on Malia's face he knew he said something snarky.

"We all need to get going." Scott said quickly grabbing some toast and deer bacon for the road, he also left a note on the fridge for his mom.

Hey Mom

Food in the fridge for you, just heat it up

Scott.

All of them getting in Stile's jeep they rode to school listening to their favorite music though today was Malia's day so she had on Finger Eleven the song Paralyzer. All three of them sang along as they got to school. Entering the school Malia headed off first, she had to go register for classes while Scott went to follow her, she shook her head. Scott knew she wanted to register herself.

"Fine go on ahead ill catch up." Scott told her as him and Styles exited the car.

Jackson parked next to them in the passenger side, as Scott got out so did Jackson almost hitting Scott with the car door. Jacked was now eying Scott down as he closed his door.

"Watch the paint job." Jackson said angrily before someone called his name and he walked off.

Scott and Styles were now entering the school when Stiles spoke up about something, he heard last night.

"Did you hear the howling last night I think we have wolves here in Beacon Hills." Stiles said.

"Impossible, it couldn't have been, there are no wolves in California." Scott said reluctantly, he knew it was Peter and he assumed the newcomer Derek.

"If there are wolves it seriously the most interesting thing in since… the birth of Lydia Martin." Stiles said trailing off at the end as he saw the red headed goddess he crushed on walk by.

"Hey, Lydia, you look like… you're going to ignore me." Stiles said as she walked past him and Scott without a word.

"You know it's your own fault, you're such a nerd. I've been scarlet nerded" Scott said playfully.

"That makes you a nerd by association." Stiles shot back as the last bell rang to get into the school.
