Prolgue.
In the maternity ward of the of Viridian city Hospital a large deer pokémon made its way past the sleeping babies. The white and gold pokémon was Arceus. It stopped in front of a dark haired baby. Arceus mind could see the past, present and the future. The event that had the God pokémon showing up was this baby saving him in the distant future. So with a huffing fading out between time and space moving back to when humans were placed back into this world.
The burn of radiation on its fur was a lot less that than when he was first woke and put in charge of this ball of nuclear waste and rot of a depleted planet called earth. With its raging bipolar weather systems, the shattered moon that several of its' chunks had crashed into Earth and the fluctuating sun. It had been a challenge to save. The creation of the legendary Pokémon and tying the specific functions to them helped. Mew had a blast creating the new 'animals' and celebi the plants. On the 6th day was when the creator placed 12 humans in his care. Arceus looked at the 6 men and 6 women knowing the trouble that would follow the wake of their being brought back, but they were now under his care. This is when the future melded into the past Arceus and made a change that would ripple through out the world's history creating the first split in the universal time.
With a snap he was back standing over the babies once again. He could he fighting just out side of the room. The parents of the baby he came to visit. With a deep breath he leaned down and pushed his forehead to the baby's before disappearing leaving the boy's future falling in place in different ways then then the other Timeline.
In a crowd two figures were walking hand in hand. One was a young woman with light brown hair pulled into a bun with a pair of hair sticks that had sakura blossoms on them, it matched her black kimono that had sakura petals swirling around it. She was smiling down at the little 5 year old that was holding her hand.
The kid was also in a kimono that had lightning dancing down the arms. Long black hair was pulled up in a high ponytail with a metal lightning bolt hanging from the blue ribbon that held the ponytail up. Glowing amber eyes were looking up at the woman with happiness. He bounced as he took in the sights.
Two sharp sounding slaps silenced the surrounding crowd. The duo looked toward the sound spotting a young woman with her pink hair down and a white kimono, the local Nurse Joy, rubbing her butt. She was glaring at a young man, who was glaring right back at her while rubbing the red hand print on his face. "Omega what was that for." He growled ignoring the looks he was getting from the crowd.
"You are not to touch an omega with out their consent, Beta." She bared her teeth. A deep growl echoed through the court yard.
"Yet you would let an alpha do that?"
"My alpha, yes. Not just any old alpha, or beta that wanted to get handsy. Besides, most if them know better."
"Damn right." An alpha growled out glaring at the beta. "You slow or somethin'. The last time an alpha tried to take advantage of an omega had his throat ripped out. They had no special powers and that was before their pokémon got to the scum. The last to try something against a psychic was turned inside out and let's not mention an aura user." He shivered.
"You alphas have let them get away with to much."
"'Let,' boy let me tell you something," the large alpha wagged his finger at the young beta as he marched up to him, "if you want to get between an omega and their partner pokémon." He shivered at the destruction that would cause. "Not even Arceus could help you. Hell even before the Pokémon Leagues and catching pokémon in poké balls was a thing. Omegas where weaving they natural charm. There even legends about omegas befriending a Moltres to save her village from a avalanche. We are the glue to our teams be it as the pack alpha, the nurturing omega, or as the backbone beta." This got an eye roll from the beta.
"Alphas and omegas are a thing of the past."
"Just because you can't measure up to the standers set by a person doesn't mean that the system is outdated."
"Like you do?" The beta glared at being interrupted.
"Both of my omegas are very happy." The Alpha was smug.
"My two alphas are equally happy." The omega glared.
"Shut up. It is time to let that go and just call a man a man and a woman a woman." Everyone huffed at this guy's stupidity. As that is not how it worked. The stronger the person the more partners they needed to keep them in balance. It had been proven to be detrimental to the health if the power levels didn't balance out. He rolled his eyes while reaching for the woman. This guy clearly didn't recognize and ignoring the loud warning bells that should have been ringing in his skull.
The growl picked up in an ominous tone as her shadow stared to expand out. It took the shape of a ghostly figure with glowing red eyes and shadows seem to drip from its' body. The slight shift of the beta had the shadow shooting out to blanket him causing a girlish scream to escape him. Sending many of the watching crowd into laughter.
"This is why you just don't mess with an omega, their pokémon are highly protective of them." The man scoffed. No one stepped forward to stop the gengar as it terrorized the beta. The woman dragged her curious child away.
"That man sounded like that team Rocket filth." The woman sighed as she pulled out a poké ball and released her large raichu her oldest partner. With a cry the large graying pokémon tackled the child in a hug.
"You heavy." The child whined as he pouted getting a giggle from the woman.
"Delia, as I live and breath. My sweet child, have you have returned to stay?" An elderly woman greeted the woman with a hug.
"No Nana. Just here for a vacation. Remember I have a job at the Lab with Professor Oak, as the nutritionist. I am very happy in Pallet town, our lovely home that has more than enough room for all my pokémon, my small restaurant, my friends and my son has friends and they will be starting at the local Pokémon Academy soon."
"Oh." The elderly woman tried not to sound disappointed. "Is this your boy?" Before she turned her attention to the slightly hiding child.
"Yes. This is my Satoshi."
"Mom, it's Ash." The boy pouted at his mother. Both women giggled as Dalia nodded.
"That is a nickname based off his middle name." Dalia explained.
"Oh, so that husband of yours come to his senses." The old woman watched as her smile faded as she shook her head.
"As you know he was a beta."
"What a dreadful secret to keep from your future spouse."
"Well, that wasn't the only secret he kept. His girlfriend and I, his wife at the time, gave birth around the same time. Ash is older by two hours. He didn't stay long after seeing him. I haven't seen him since the fight we had. We were officially devoiced a month later."
"Then why have you decided not to move back?"
"I have a really good job that I like. The land is already in my name. I didn't even get to tell him." The old woman nodded, her sharp eyes watched as the distracted boy played with Raichu.
"Is he like you?" Dalia nodded with a beaming smile.
"I can tell you now that he was born active."
"That's rare and very lucky. Most have to wait until they are around 13-16 to awaken."
"The doctor claims its to early to really prove and that he would put it in his records later.
"A doctor ignored an Omega mother over what her child was born as?"
"Yes, but he no longer works there and Ash isn't the only one born active."
"Well little one." Ash looked at her. "Enjoy your visit to Rota and the city of Cameran and the beautiful Palace."
"I will. Have a nice day." As best as his five year body allowed. He waved as they moved on threw the crowd. The rest of the trip was a blast. They toured the Palace and went on a safari taking pictures of different wild pokémon that he had never seen before.
He was entered into the Pallet Town Pokémon Academy that had the mascot of a Magikarp. It was fun and he learned a lot but it all changed when the Headmaster showed the leagues' promo that was shown and updated every year. The screen showed Professor Oak with three well known Pokémon, the Kanto three. He went over the basics of being a trainer. Only the top three students in the region would be given the choice of getting one of the three. To the higher grades he then went on to explain the three would be given a job as a Jr. Field Researcher and went over the work that came with that. For three little five year olds who's parents had the final evolution of the starters and grew up visiting the Lab all the time; wanted them.
Ash was a hands on learner, so he exceled at the physical classes and more hands on lessons, but he was always taking notes. Gary Oak, best friend and rival of Ash, was the top in the book classes, but worked hard to keep up with his rival. Ivy (call me Leaf,) was also a friend and rival, was a balanced student with. The three friends ended in a tie.
During the summer Pallet Town came alive. Professor Oak hosted Pokémon Games that where sponsored by the League. The games put the Pokémon Academies against each other. It test their knowledge and physical abilities. They did a quiz show that covered the flora and fauna, the warning signs a pokémon exhibits before an attack, territory markings, typing advantages and disadvantages, and statues effects. The physical challenges was a few relay races. It started with a foot race, then an obstacle course, rock climbing with no equipment, the climbing a more difficult path with the equipment, diving down to get a tag. Then swimming to a floating platform that was attached the ocean floor by a thick chain that the had to free dive and retrieve another tag that was marked with the depth they reached. Then a fighting tournament and several races.
Gary, Leaf and Ash, as top three students, where always representing their age group from their school. They where often in the top three in the ranking and meeting of the other top students. Yet the Pokémon Technical Institute never showed up to these meetings.
--
In between schooling, tutoring from his mother and working most of his summers at the lab with his friends; the years past in a flash for Ash. The lab, Green Farm, and his mother's little restaurant where the only places for the kids to work and gain some extra money for their journey. Also after heavy storms the whole town would go to the southern beach to clean up what the ocean washed up of past wreckage. Most time they got to keep what they found if it was still usable. On the weekends Gary, Ivy and Ash where often found searching the beach, swimming in the cove to the east, exploring the forest that surrounded the town and climbing Mt. Silver to the west that were watched over by the powerful pokémon of their parents and Professor Oak. The Towns pokémon kept many of the dangers away.
It took years to put together his dream starting traveling pack. He found a ton of different things that would help on his journey while searching beach. For his seventh birthday his maternal Uncle sent him an egg that hatched into a strange looking Pichu, as was tradition for their family. Gary got an eevee from his mother and Ivy got a deerling from her father for their seventh birthdays.
His pichu was a golden honey color instead of the normal yellow and her markings were a deep black, he named her Honey. Her chocolate brown eyes where glowing when they watched contest with his mother and Ivy. He knew she wanted to be in contest. So he adjusted his idea of training to be a effective mix of function and beauty, but all power. Gary's Eevee was silver in color and so was called Mercury and Ivy's deerling was a dark green in the spring, red in the summer, red orange in the fall and an icy blueish white in winter and she was called Rose.
Yawning Ash woke up to a familiar weight on his chest. Slowly opening his golden brown eyes to see the golden fur of his pikachu. She lay curled up on his chest. With a sleepy smile he ran his fingers through her silky fur waking her up. They would be separated for the first track of his journey for two reasons. The first was due to a challenge the Professor issued to the top three, this year it was four, trainers. The second was for his mother who would be missing him. Honey rolled off of him and onto the bed as he sat up. Giggling he watched as she curled into the space he left before drifting back to sleep.
His black hair fell to his hips as he pulled himself to his feet. Upon noticing that he was, once again, late he dashed out the door in his sleep wear. It was a fairly common occurrence in Pallet town, as every kid pallet did it from time to time especially Ash Ketchum and Ivy Green. Everyone waved at him as he past by, chuckling as they took in his state of dress. Someone remarked to a new lab tech that he was late again.
Upon reaching the lab's door he slammed into someone who just stepped out of the door. Hands grabbed his shoulders so he wouldn't fall back down the stairs behind him. Spotting Gary was the one he ran into, Ash was confused by the look on Gary's face. Gary was slack jaw and slightly flushed as he looked at Ash. Tilting his head Gary was acting as if they hadn't seen each other all summer, they just saw each other yesterday.
Ash forgot to take into account his state of dress. His large green night shirt slipped down his right shoulder and went to his knees. On the front was yellow outline of a pikachu doing a thunderbolt and loose black shorts that where hidden by his shirt. The sound of girls' giggling knocked Gary out of his daze, causing him to let go Ash's shoulders and take a step back while couching into his fist.
"Late again Ashley?" Gary gave a sharp smirk not noticing the amused looks he was getting from the surrounding crowd. Ash turned a way from him arms crossed his chest and pouted looking more like his mom in that moment.
"Don't call me that, and so what? You are too if my guess is correct and you live here." Gary stayed silent, but glared at him.
"That doesn't matter. Since I already got my official starter pokémon."
"So, what did you get?"
"Like I would tell you." Gary rolled his eyes. "You'll see him on the Battle Field." Ash gave a small growl before pushing past the taller boy and into the lab.
"Smell ya later." Gary called after him before driving off. Ash started pouting once again as the cheering the crowd was doing for Gary muffled by the door.
"Oh. Good morning, Ash."
"Good morning, grandpa." This caused the old Professor to chuckle. Only four kids called him that his two grandchildren by blood; Gary and Daisy; and two grandchildren by choice; Ash and Ivy. "So which pokémon did you get two of?"
"Oh, my I knew I was forgetting something."
"Professor. If you forgot that there were four of us due a tie after having us work here all summer. Than you are getting to old to be doing this. So what do you have planed?"
"You are to good at reading people." The old Professor smiled and lead the boy to where there were three poké balls sitting. Each poké ball had a sticker of the primary element of the pokémon inside. With the push of a button a forth one was raised in the center. Tilting his head he grabbed the poké ball and released the pokémon. At the sight of the golden yellow pikachu he turned to look at the Professor. "I figure you would like him." He twitched at the glare the pikachu was giving him. "Ok. So, he has been causing me a bit of trouble and as you are already used to getting shocked." Professor Oak shrugged. Ash rolled his eyes. Honey was a little terror just before she evolved. She shocked everyone and everything.
"I'll take good care of him." Ash nodded and turned toward the pikachu. "Hello buddy. We are partners now. Hope we can get along." He ducked under a powerful bolt of electricity. "This is going to be a long journey." He pouted getting a confused look from the mouse pokémon.
He somehow got pikachu to follow him pout of the lab. With Professor Oak only getting shocked once. He saw his mother standing there with Daisy and a 3rd of the town. Pallet town had been split in support of Ivy, Gary and him. Dalia hugged Ash to her and kissed his forehead.
"You are growing up so fast, and growing so beautiful."
"Mom." He whined hiding his face in her shirt. She chuckled at him running her fingers through his hair.
"You ready for your journey." Ash nodded hugging her. "Then you need to go get changed." He let go and grabbed a thin green backpack that she handed him. "This one of the challenge backpack that the professor and I packed for you top trainers." Ash nodded with a slight blush as he took the backpack. He was dragged inside by Daisy to get changed.
When he came out his black hair was short and spiky, and he was dressed in a black t-shirt under a blue jacket, blue jeans, a tennis shoes, and his hat. (Anime Season 1 Ash.) His fingers played with the tips of his hair. Dalia sighed at the sight of his short hair.
"Don't worry Miss. Ketchum we didn't cut his hair. We just used a special bald cap that actors use." Daisy smiled at the older woman. The bald cap was used for actors with long hair so they didn't have to cut their hair for their rolls.
After the whole crowd was shocked he lassoed the pikachu and dragged him out of town. He ignored the pikachu digging in his feet. Once he was a good distance from town near the large tree in the field that made up route on, he turned to the pikachu. "I am going to untie you. So we can have some breakfast since I haven't eaten anything this morning." Pikachu turned his head from the trainer he was stuck with. "You know what, just open your mouth and tell me why you will not give me a chance?"
"Cha." Pikachu opened his mouth. Ash sighed and shook his head, before untying the pokémon. He watched as the pikachu dashed up the tree.
"Fine. Be that way." He settled against the tree and began go through the backpack. All his poke balls and his containers where packed. The clothes where not his preferred but it was just until he had a good team to help defend himself. Pulling out a small blue cube out. Pushing the button on top causing the container to expand. Inside was a fresh bento box that he made last night. The boxes were on the expensive side normally, but they were worth it. They were made with the same tech as poké balls allowing the contents to be as fresh as possible while taking up as little room as possible. He pulled out cylinder stainless steel container that had a lightning bolt engraved into the lid. It was pokémon food that he and his mother made for Honey, but his mom gave it to him upon seeing his starter.
He poured some into a small bowl and held it up for pikachu to see. Before sating it on the ground and digging into his own food and flipping through his Pokédex, named Dexter. The sun felt good on his face but a chill lingered in the air. When he was done eating Ash leaned back against the tree, while his eyes looked around the area. The hair on the back of his neck as the still quiet finally registered to him. There was the distance sounds but nothing close by. Standing up his eyes swept the grass getting the pikachu's attention. With slow movements he moved to a small ruined bush that he spotted.
Upon getting closer he could tell it was an oran berry bush. He looked over the bush picking the good berries and seeing bruising on some of them. Leaning down he ran his hand over the bark. Ash couldn't feel and claw or fang marks. So he pulled the branches back. on the ground he found a can of 'Blazing Magmar,' an energy drink from Cinnabar Island, crushed into the dirt in a tire track. His fingers bushed the can when he froze.
There were no pokémon rangers in the area. That would mean the pokémon would be agitated by the car, Gary's car. Grabbing the can he stood and made his way to his bag. He packed up and dropped the can inside his bag. When his eye caught movement and was distracted by the flash of another can in the distance. This one had a Dewgong on it, Gary's favorite. Now though the sound of wings flapping brought his attention back to the movement. There glaring at him was a spearow that had more red in his feathers than what was average for its' species and a huge knot on his head.
With a battle cry it launched itself into the air and zoomed at him. He barely got out of the way of its sharp talons that cut into the bark of the tree that had been behind him. Pikachu's laughing had caught its attention.
"Thunder wave." Ash called out as the bird pokémon dive bomb at the electric mouse. Pikachu did with a glare after taking two hits. Then sent a nasty thunder shock to the slowed pokémon. It hit the ground hard and a squawk. He ran and grabbed the other can. Just as he heard the spearow give a sharp cry.
"Jump. Now." Ash called out as the air was filled with the answering cries of other spearow. Pikachu jumped as the sky darkened with the silhouettes of spearows. He was caught in his trainer's arms. With the green bag hanging over one shoulder Ash took off running. He cursed out Gary under his breath. It wasn't long before he was surrounded by the flock with the one that called in the lead. Their talons ripped through his jacket with ease and into the flesh of his arms, shoulders, and back. Using his jacket and arms to shield Pikachu to the best of his ability, but he still got hit. Pikachu was shooting thunder shocks over his shoulder at any large groups that to close.
Keeping his head down and slightly shielding his face from the talon and the beaks. Blood was rolling down his skin from the open wounds. it wasn't long before the sound of water drew him to a known waterfall called Gyarados falls for the large Gyarados that lives there. "Hold your breath." He looked down at his Pikachu who nodded and jumped as a wing attack struck his back. There was an underwater cave just behind the falls that he was planning to hide in. what he didn't know was that he was pulled from the water like a magikarp. He hit the ground hard.
"Oh, you poor thing, are you alright?" A girl with orange hair.
"Sure, we are fine."
"I wasn't asking you."
'Well you sure as hell can't understand him.' With a growl he hauled himself up. He heard the caws of the spearows, as they no doubt they spotted him. Looking at pikachu he noticed the tiredness and the slightly scratched up face. Scooping up the mouse he spotted a bike. Biting his lip he placed the pokémon in the bike's basket.
"What are you doing?"
"I need to barrow your bike. Pikachu is hurt and we are being chased by a flock of spearow."
"What," she squeaked.
"I'll see you at Viridian's pokémon center." With that he took off with the girl chasing after him for a little bit. He could barely hear her screams over the angry cries of the spearow flock that quickly caught up to him. His racing experience helped him race down the path. This bike was more of a city bike so it was not made for off road use, like the one he left at home. So he zoomed down the path. Before looking down at the map on his pokédex causing him to hit a rock sending him flying off.
Ash pulled himself to Pikachu. Rubbing his hand over the rough looking pokémon. This had been a nightmare. A few drops of rain landed on his hand and mixed with the blood on his face. He put the pikachu's poké ball in front of the injured mouse. "Get in the Poké ball. It'll keep you're injuries from getting worse." Pikachu shook his head, but Ash stood up as lightning raced across the sky. Standing in front of the down pikachu with his arms spread a slight yellow glow appeared around his body when suddenly Pikachu used his shoulder as a springboard to launch himself into the air and unleashed a massive Thunder attack. Everything went white.
When Ash opened his eyes, when he felt something brush his face, to see clearing sky and a beautiful rainbow. He watched a strange bird pokémon flying over a rainbow. The beep of his pokédex let him know that it was catching the bird pokémon on its' camera.
"No, data on this pokémon found." Slowly he sat up causing a feather to fall into his lap. Picking up the red and green feather as he looked around noticing all the spearow was gone except one. The one who started this whole thing. He tossed a poké ball and caught the paralyzed spearow. Spotting an oran berry tree he gathered pikachu into his arms and slide down the slope. Ash reached up picking a rip berry and squeezed it into pikachu's mouth. Waking the tired pokémon up.
"Cha?"
"They're gone so we're safe. Good news we have a new partner, if they want to join." Ash dug through his pack and pulled out a portable mortal and pestle and began grinding down several and water into a paste. Slowly feeding it to pikachu and watched as his color came back. Taking off the ruined jacket he checked the wounds. Before he smeared the past onto his wounds. He munched on an oran berry to stop the dizziness from the pain and lose of blood.
With Pikachu out of the danger zone he released the spearow, who glared at him. Ash began patching the angry bird up. Which confused the bird type as he removed the paralysis and reduced the swelling on its' head and the slight burns from the super powered thunder. Pikachu's poké ball was heavily damaged so he would need to transfer poké balls when he got to the center.
Picking up a few more berries to munch on all the way to town. It was a slow go that pulled on all his wounds and caused some to start bleeding again. Pikachu was resting cradled in his left arm as he carried his backpack in his right hand and Spearow took to roosting on his hat to regain some of its strength incase something attacked them. At least until his shoulders were healed.
A chattering from the trees of spearow who roosted there. The spearow on his shoulder squawked and flared his wings. The others stayed where they were and watched as the trainer moved past. As he was not acting hostile toward them and with soaked wings they stayed resting. Ash could see many of the trees where housing the spearow flock as they clicked their beaks at them as they moved past.
It was dusk when they reached Viridian city. The city lights where a welcoming sight for the exhausted trainer. A Pokécenter had to be close by.
"Stop right there." A female voice cried out causing him to freeze and turn to look at her. "Wait a moment, Ash?"
"Hello again, Officer Flare Jenny."
"Oh," she gave him a big hug, "Ash it is so good to see you again. So you started your journey." She pulled back holding him by his shoulders at arms length. Officer Jenny frowned as she noticed how bad he looked. "What happened?"
"Can I explain at the center, so I don't have to explain twice?"
"Sure sweetie." She brushed the hair from his face gently. "Get in." She lead him to the her motorcycle with her hand on his shoulder.
"Um guys hold on she likes to go a little crazy." He whispered to his pokémon as he sat in the sidecar. She had moved to get on her bike. With a crazy smile she revved it up and floored it. He screamed at the officer's crazy driving. It didn't take long before they were bursting into the center while still in he bike startling the two Nurse Joys behind the desk. The older one was around Jenny's age and the other was closer to Ash's, with her being about three years older. Before the older nurse could rant at the officer.
"Ash and his pokémon need medical attention." Jenny motioned toward Ash, who was gasping for breath as he was slumped over the side of the sidecar. Nurse Joy rushed to his side and helped him up.
"Melinda help Ash. I'll work on his pokémon, and then we will have a long talk about this."
"We," Ash started was stopped by Nurse Joy raising her hand. "Pikachu hates his poké ball." She nodded before taking his two pokémon into the back. Malinda glared at him as he sat at a booth. It took awhile for the paste to be washed off his wounds. She never liked him. Which was odd as they only met during the tournaments. So there was a tense atmosphere around them as she worked on the cuts and gashes on his shoulders and arms. It wasn't long before she moved away to throw away his ruined clothes and the bloody cloths and disinfection wipes.
Ash sat there with bandages wrapped around his shoulders, down his arms and around his fingers. He pulled out a black t-shirt from his backpack and slipped it on with a pained sigh. He wasn't alone long before Officer Jenny slipped into the seat across from him. Officer Flare Jenny was an alpha who date his mother for a month before they broke it off and stayed friends. Nurse Rosemary Joy was also a friend of his mother's. he must have dozed off because the next thing he knew was Nurse Joy running her fingers threw his hair. His head was on the table, so when he lifted in she slid in to the seat by Flare. "So explain what happened."
"Was on route one when we were attacked by the flock of spearow that was aggravated by a car going through there a little bit earlier today. They thought that I had hit one of them with a empty can of Dewgong Icer." Ash looked down at his arms. "To get away Pikachu and I went to Gyarados Falls and jumped. We were hopping to use the underwater cave as a safe haven, but we were pulled out by a girl fishing there."
"That is a no fishing zone because of the gyarados that lives there is not pleasant when fished up." Nurse Joy said looking stressed out about it. Tat gyarados new rain dance, Thunder, Fire Blast, and hyper beam as it was a released pokémon of a retired Viridian trainer. The old man who gives new trainers lessons on catching pokémon. He took kids from the local academies there to show the dangers of wild pokémon.
"I'll talk to William about him." Officer Jenny leaned back in her seat. "Do you know who the driver was and the girl at the falls?"
"Gary was in the car don't know if he was driving, but I'll be talking to the Professor about it. As for the girl I have no idea. Told her to meet me here as I took her bike to get away from the flock and we were hurt."
"Hum." Jenny looked him with sharp eyes as she crossed her arms. "This will need to be investigated and a report made."
"I need to head to check on the two." Nurse Joy said patting his head before disappearing into the back.
"Be sure to fill out an incident report." Officer Jenny stood up, "and be careful there have been some sightings of Team Rocket being report around town." With that she got and left. Ash leaned back and closed his eyes for a few moments before the phone rang. Getting up he made his way over to computer and answered the videophone call. To see the back of the Prof. Oak's head.
"Hello? Hello?"
"Behind you."
"Ask." He turned his head to look behind him and blushed. "Oh I turned on the wrong camera." Clearing his throat he spun to face the young boy. "So you made it to Viridian already. That's good. Did you catch any pokémon, because Gary bet me that you wouldn't catch one new pokémon before you got there."
"Well I caught a Spearow." Ash rubbed the back of his neck
"Really? Interesting choice." Then his sharp eyes locked onto the bandages on his arms. "What happened?"
"About that." Ash explained what happened with his Pokédex pushed into the port and pulled out the two can. So Prof. Oak could see them. A deep frown was on the old man's face as looked at the videos that were recorded onto the pokédex. Ash's looked at the mural on the wall. There were four Pokémon and the one in the top right corner resembled the bird pokémon he saw going over the rainbow. Especially the tail feathers. "I think I saw that pokémon. What is it?"
"Hum. That mural depicts the legendary pokémon said to have saved the Kanto region. The top right is thought to be Moltres that ruled the mountain range that once stood in the south connecting Cinnabar, Seafoam Islands and Grandpa canyon. It is said to have tamed the volcano. Zapdos, the pokémon in the bottom left corner, is said to rule the Silver Mountain. Is none as the pokémon to tame the severe storms that are caused my the mountain. Articuno, the pokémon in the top right, rules the Moon mountains. It is said that it cooled down meteors that struck the mountain range. The three balanced the climate here in Kanto. The last is Arcanine. It is sais that during a raging wild fire that spread through the region that this pokémon appeared and saved thousands of people from the wicked flames until they were doused in a major storm caused by the three birds. It the resulting smoke it vanished from sight but not the memories of the people it saved. Who settled there in Viridian the four went down in history."
"The Pokémon you saw sounds like a legend that an old college told me about. She was from Johto and we estranged tons of stories about the legends during our mentorship. The one was about this pokémon Ho-oh, which I think that is the pokémon you saw. It is said to be good luck for trainers to see. I'll do some research on it." The old Prof. rubbed his chin. "Be sure to call your mother.
"Ok. I will do that," He was cut off by his mother appearing on the videophone. After shoving the Prof. Out of the way.
"Ash."
"Hello mom."
"You moved fast through the route. Your father took 5 days, and I took 7 days. I was training, your father got lost." She giggled. She opened her eyes to look at her baby only to freeze at the sight of the bandages. "Ash, what happened?" her vice wavered as she followed the bandages that wrapped his neck disappearing under his shirt and down his arms and around his fingers. Ash told her what happened. She gave a said sigh. "I am glad you remembered what we went over. Ash are you going to come home or are you going to continue on, Now that you know how dangerous it could get?" He sat there frozen for a moment.
"I want to continue. To push past this and grow stronger." He tightened his fist and flinched in pain. She was reminded of when he was a kid and he asked to learn yoga when he saw her doing it. Then moved onto martial arts when he was older. Delia gave a small smile.
"Then good luck my little pokémon master." He blushed as he ducked his head. "Be safe out there. Not all pokémon will care that you are a kid and will attack you like they would if you were an adult." Ash nodded. His mom had told him about the diets of pokémon which he had written in a notebook that was in his backpack.
"I will. I love you mom. Send my love to Honey. I'll will call before I leave town. Now I have a report to do."
"Then get to it. Good bye and goodnight." With that she hung up. He made it to one of the other videophones that lined the wall. Sitting down he plugged Dexter in to the pokédex port which logged him into the system. He pulled up the League forum and filled out the two reports with what pictures. The first got the symbol for Oak's lab and the bike report got and alakazam symbol. Meaning they will be investigated by Professor Oak and Ranger on the first and the bike would be investigated by a League insurance investor and their Alakazam. With that done he pulled up Dexter's programing and fixed the 'improvements' that Gary made. It wasn't hard with porygon's help. Pulling out Dexter logged him out of the system and so he went back to the booth and laid his head down to wait for Nurse Joy to bring back is Pokémon.
"YOU." The orange hair girl kicked in the door to the Pokécenter open. So she could march in with her burn to a crispy bike. "You destroyed my bike."
"It wasn't on purpose." He rolled his eyes. "I summited a report to the League insurance and incidents Department. Ash watched as her face got redder in anger which confused him. Any form of transportation if damaged in the act of saving a life, be it human or pokémon, was covered with no repercussions to either party. "So all you have to do is make your own report. They will cover it."
"Its' your fault so you should buy me a new bike."
"New bikes are expensive and I was trying to save my Pokémon." Ash glared at her. "Why would I pay for it if they will cover it."
"Its' called taking responsibility."
"They have thee program in place to cover incidents like with what happened to your bike. So I do not agree to buy you a new bike" Nurse Joy walked out of the back. With Pikachu on a little stretcher and a poké ball.
"Keep it down in here. This is a place of rest and healing. Here is your pokémon Ash. Young lady I would like a word with you." Ash smiled at her before she lead the girl away.
"Well you look a bit better." Ash said running his hand over Pikachu's belly. Pikachu's fur was clean and brushed. Sleepy eyes looked at his trainer. "Get some rest ok buddy. Then we will go calibrate becoming a team ok?" Pikachu gave a slight nod before drifting asleep. He ran his fingers over pikachu's ears before letting his hands fall to his sides. The girl was storming back toward him, but before she could say anything the glass ceiling shattered above them as two pokémon came through it. One was ekans ad the other was koffing, both are poison type. Followed by two voices saying something what sounded like a motto, but Ash was distracted by the smell that lingered under the smog screen. An red haired Alpha and a blue haired omega pair dressed in team rocket uniform.
Blinking in shock as a talking meowth joined the two thieves. "He talks."
"Of course I talk." Meowth scratched his face.
"Ow." Ash hissed shoving the crazy pokémon away from him and his injured pokémon. He was glad for the medication Nurse Joy gave him as it kept him asleep. With a glare he pushed his pikachu toward the back as a thick smog and poison sting was launched at them from the ekans and koffing. Grabbing Nurse Joy's hand as he went past to keep getting hit by the tint needles that were shot at them.
"What is going on?"
"Team Rocket is attacking." Ash said as they turned down the corridor, the girl was screaming at him for leaving her behind. They made it to the main storage room, before slamming the doors shut and locked.
"Team Rocket. Not good, we need to activate the emergency evacuation system."
"Why are they attacking here there is only sick pokémon here."
"Not just sick pokémon. Pokémon dropped off for check ups and rest. Trainers from all off the city leave their pokémon here to rest, heal, or short time storage." Nurse Joy said as she started to run the program running. Not even a moment latter they heard a loud pop before the power went out. This caused the emergency override to activate and opened every door in the center. Team rocket was standing in the door way looking smug with themselves.
"We can't let them get the pokémon." The girl said as she grab a poké ball. "Go." She tossed the ball and a goldeen came out flopping on the ground.
"Go spearow." His spearow appeared and glaring at the ekans and koffing. His chest puffed up before he gave a mighty cry. "Quick attack." The spearow slammed into the koffing and sent it into them knocking them back Ekans hissed and struck at the small bird. "Feint attack."
"You idiot." The girl hissed, as the spearow looked uncertain as it eyed the snake pokémon. "Spearow doesn't know that move," The duo laughed at Ash.
"Ekans get that bird brain." Jessie called out. When the ekans lunged at the spearow. Its' eyes flashed as it launched himself at it with his talons and wings spread. The hit knocked the pokémon back at the duo.
"What?"
"It is an egg move of spearows." Nurse Joy said as the back up power ran by several pikachus. Who jolted his pikachu awake when nobody was looking. Much to Nurse Joy's annoyance. Ash with Spearow on his shoulder and pikachu in his arms ran out the door way It ended with a powerful pika-powered lightning blast that sent Team Rocket blasting off. Ash completely collapsed in his room after all was said and done.
