[A/N: I just wanted to say a few things before you continue. First of all, this story is also on Wattpad, just thought I'd mention that. Second of all, this is my first story I've ever published, also thought I'd mention that. Third of all, and most important, criticism is not only welcomed, but encouraged. One more thing, I originally wrote this part near the beginning of 2021 and I'm just polishing it up a bit. This is the same for the entirety of Chapter 1, and the first three parts to Chapter 2. With all that out of the way, enjoy the fanfic.]

The sky was blue with very few clouds in sight, a wooloo was letting out it's morning howl. A boy was skipping towards a small home at the outskirts of Postwick. The boy stepped up to the welcome mat on the floor in front of the entrance. He banged on the front door, waiting for some form of response. "Open up! It's Hop!" Hop yelled at the closed door, it opened a few seconds later and Hop walked inside. The boy looked down at the small Munchlax who let him in, "Thanks Munchlax." Hop said before skipping over to the living room, the Munchlax made a friendly sound as it saw Hop waltzed over to the living room. A girl named Gloria, sat on a red sofa watching a video on her Rotem phone. The video was of Champion Leon mopping the floor with a gym leader. She always wanted to become a strong Pokémon Trainer, and challenge Leon, but, Gloria has only really gotten into Pokémon Training a few months ago, she would have to learn a lot in a short amount of time if she really wanted to challenge Leon. "Hello, Hello!" Hop shouted from behind the sofa. "Hey Hop." Gloria responded, here eyes glued to the screen. "Oh, is that your flash new Rotem phone?" Hop asked, Gloria gave a simple "Mhm."

"Were you watching Lee's exhibition match?" Hop questioned once again. His blabbering often get's on the nerves of Gloria, although it isn't too bad. "Yeah, the battles are pretty cool." Gloria said, Hop seemed to be listening to only half of what she said, "Wait, but you can't cheer him on when your hands are full." Hop ignored whatever Gloria said two seconds ago. She sighed, put her Rotem phone away, and turned around on the sofa to look at Hop. "You know the only proper way to cheer him on is by doing the famous Charizard pose." Hop explained. That reminded her. She loved that pose, she would perform it every time something even remotely prideful happens. Gloria could hear her Mother's footsteps reach the hallway. "Hop! Didn't expect to see you here, dear. Isn't today the big day?" Her Mom asked. Hop put his hands behind his head to support him when he leaned back a bit, standing. "Yeah! That's why I'm here for Gloria." Hop explained while putting his hands down. He turned back over to face Gloria, "Never mind watching the match now! I've got all of then recorded at my home anyways." Hop continued to blabber. "So come on Gloria! He should be here any minute! And Lee always brings presents when he visits, so I wouldn't want to forget that bag of yours!" Hop finally stopped talking to take a breath, and then started back up again- "I've got to run now, see you at mine later!" Hop said just before running out of Gloria's house. She smiled. The presents were pretty obvious, she just hopes the Champion has enough. Gloria hopped off her sofa and looked at the Munchlax sleeping on her soft carpet. Despite not really being interested in Pokémon Training until recently, she has always liked Pokémon. She couldn't wait to get her own. Gloria walked across the entrance hallway to the kitchen where her Mother was was sitting at a table reading the newspaper and sipping on Coffee. Gloria spoke to her briefly about her plans for the day. Her Mother was working most of the day and Gloria was planning on exploring the abandoned condo next to Hop's house. Well, it looks like a condo.

After that, Gloria went into her bedroom. She looked around her comfy room, she enjoyed it. She would often spend time in it watching her TV and playing her video game console. Gloria doesn't actually know if the console is a handheld or a standard video game console. Whenever Hop came over to hangout, Gloria would play the system while Hop watched and cheered on. Gloria saw her unreasonably giant bag. It was previously her Mother's before she dropped Pokemon Training to pursue a different career. She walked over to the bag and swiftly put it on, she felt like her mother already. Gloria walked back through the kitchen and into the entrance hallway. She gave a graceful goodbye wave to the her Mom and opened the door to Postwick.

She took a long deep breath of fresh air. Gloria saw Hop down the hill her House branched off from, and two Pokémon that flock to the free Pokémon food her Mom puts out every once and a while. The brunette ran over to Hop. Hop smirked at the look of Gloria's unreasonably big bag, "Hahahah! You should take a look at yourself Gloria. Especially with that bag on you." Hop playfully insulted. "At least I don't look like an Alohian." Gloria used a comeback she used often in response to Hop's playful insults. His response is always the same, "I can't really look like an Alohian, right?" Hop asked. "Sorta." Gloria answered. For as long as Gloria has known Hop, he has always been kind of sensitive. Both Gloria and Hop both heard a long banging sound, like someone was hitting a piece of wood against another piece of wood. They both looked at the source of the sound, and saw a Woo-loo using tackle on the fence leading into the forest. The forest that Gloria's Mom constantly warns her not to wander in. "A woo-loo? But, what's it doing here?" Hop wondered while Gloria stumbled over to the tackling Woo-loo. "Oh. It's using tackle on the fence!" Hop had figured it out, Gloria had already dragged the woo-loo away from the fence and scorned it mildly. She sighed as she turned around to look at Hop. "Glad you took care of that. I heard there were spooky Pokémon in Slumbering Weald." Hop explained. "Yeah, I wouldn't want to be heading there any time soon." Gloria said. She opened up her bag and searched through it, "Hey, look what I got yesterday." Gloria stated before pulling out a green beret. "Whoa- is that hat for me?" Hop asked, Gloria simply responded with, "No." Before placing the beret on her head. "Aw man, well, at least I'm still getting a present from Lee." Hop said. Hop glanced behind him, and then stared at Gloria. "So- Gloria, I bet I can beat you in a race to my house!" Hop challenged Gloria a lot. Usually Gloria would win. Actually, almost all the time Gloria would win, "You're on." Gloria accepted and they both raced across the town of Postwick.

Rather quickly, Gloria obviously made it first to Hop's house with Hop arriving shortly after. As the two eager teenagers reached Hop's kitchen, Gloria could feel the excitement vibrating off Hop. It was worrying, to say the least. "Mum! Is he here!?" Hop shouted. "There you are at last, Hop!" Hop's Mom said in a subtle relieved tone, "Oh, and you've brought Gloria with you. Hello dear." His Mom stated. "Yeah, yeah. But where's Lee? Have you got him crammed in the cupboard?" Hop questioned-'Wait, has the Champion crammed himself in the cupboard before?' Gloria thought. "He's still not here yet, for the hundredth time...Hop, have some patience." Hop's Mom said with a stern-like face. 'I guess Hop has always been kind of impatient. Maybe it amplifies when it's something he's particularly excited about.' Gloria thought to herself. "He's probably at Wedgehurst Station by now." Hop's Mom remarked. "Then that's where we're going! We all know Lee is hopeless with directions, so, I'll make sure he doesn't get lost on the way." Hop said with clear confidence in his voice. The whole 'Leon is bad at directions' is false, at least according to Gloria it is. As Cynical as a belief that is, Hop probably made that flaw up to feel better about himself. Although she's not gonna confront him about this. "Oh. Will you now?" His Mom questioned with a suspecting look, "Yup!" Hop reassured. "Hmm...alright then." She agreed. "You've have to come Gloria, you still haven't met my big bro, right?" Hop asked. "Mhm." Gloria hummed. Yeah, believe or not, she has never met him before. Despite being fairly good friends with Hop for about two years. It's always been the whole, 'Champion' thing. It's not that she doesn't have the courage to talk to Leon. It's just that he only visits a couple times a year. And usually she wasn't told that he was there in the first place. "You can't miss out on your chance to meet the undefeated Champion!" Hop energetically said. "Like all the times I did miss?" Gloria said in backfire. "...yeah." Hop quietly stated, feeling a bit small. "Well... I'll wait for you on Route." Hop quickly ran out of his home, presumably going to Route One. Gloria waves goodbye to Hop's Mom as she walks out of Hop's 'house'. It was more like a condo. Speaking of condos, while on her way to the routes. Gloria looked at something she's been watching for about three days now. The abandoned condo next to Hop's house. It looked abandoned, nobody had moved in there for about a year. Then all of a sudden, according to Hop, someone has been walking in and out of the condo at night. Could it just be homeless people walking in and out throughout the night? Well, homeless people- probably not. Drunk? Definitely. But, that still doesn't explain the fact that Hop's been hearing these for three straight days. Specifically at night. So someone is just using this abandoned condo unannounced, probably because they don't want to pay. Understandable? But, she wouldn't be surprised if there was something suspicious happening there. Does that mean she'll investigate it? Hell no! She was planning to send Hop inside. Harsh, but it'd be for a good cause.

Gloria reached Hop who was waiting for her at Postwick limit. "Let's get a move on! Oh, and also remember, Pokémon pop out of tall grass, I've got my Woo-loo with me so I'll be alright." Hop disclosed. "But not you Gloria! So, we'll steer clear of the grass." Hop disclosed once again. This is what Gloria meant by 'blabbering'. He points out the obvious when it's not necessary. As Hop ran off, Gloria followed shortly.

Meanwhile...

He was sleeping rather peacefully, until he heard a knock on the door downstairs. "Hello!? Is anyone there?" The voice from below called. The boy slowly crawled off the blanket and got his shoes on. His eyes were still tired. It was a long night. He did a quick stash check and opened his bag. "Knife, half-eaten sandwich, hat, fake passport, toothbrush, baking soda, and semi-broken Poke-dex." He heard the knocking get a bit louder. He groaned quietly to the annoying rhythm. The boy took the hat out of the bag and put it on top of him. The hat is probably what you expect it to look like. He closed the backpack and wrapped it around him. "Looks like it's time to move again." The boy remarked. "HELLO?!" The voice was louder then before. The boy decided it was a bad idea to go through the front door, so, naturally he'll climb down the window. He tried to be as quiet as possible as he walked slowly to the window, and opened it even slower. The brunette then tried climbing out the window, he ended up hanging from the window about to drop about six feet. Unfortunately, the only place to land was covered in mud from the storm last night, so he's going to have to be very careful- SPLASH! He hit the muddy ground below flat on his back. It didn't hurt much. If anything, the mud broke his fall. Luckily, the boy could hear whoever was knocking on the door, was on the phone. So, they most likely didn't hear that. The boy looked at his muddy back and bag. He very quietly whispered profanities to himself while attempting to get up. The mud was sticky, and it was pretty difficult for him to get out of, but after about ten minutes, he finally did. The brunette eventually had his back to rough brick wall of the abandoned condo. He slowly shimmed his way over to the edge of the condo. Whoever was knocking on the door left, which was a sweet relief. Now he had a dilemma. Either he could go back to the bug-infested, falling apart, abandoned condo. Or, he could find a new place. Which, he doesn't have that many options as it turns out, Postwick isn't really a town, it's more like a street. Wedgehurst is more of a town. Probably closer to a village. But, the boy was run out of Wedgehurst for stealing a sandwich. "Sandwich wasn't even that worth it." The boy said to himself. The brunette did some brainstorming and came up with an idea, Victor was run out of Wedgehurst. If he could disguise himself, he could very well at least get through Wedgehurst and on the train to the next town. So, it was decided for Victor, he would disguise himself to get to the Train Station. Maybe steal some food on the way. And check out the Dynamax thing he heard about earlier.

Victor waltzed on over to Route One to find something to disguise himself with.

A few minutes earlier...

Gloria and Hop arrive at Route One, seeing a crowd of people across the bridge to Wedgehurst. The crowd could really only mean one thing. Hop and Gloria quickly ran over to the back of the crowd and peacefully pushed people out of the way, they were just in time to see the unbeatable Champion Leon do his signature Charizard pose, with his actually Charizard behind him. The crowd cheered as he put his palm into the air. "Hello, hello! Wedgehurst, your champion, Leon, has returned!" Leon shouted into the crowd. "I'll promise that I will keep delivering the battles you all deserve!" Leon shouted again into the crowd. The crowd continued cheering him on, with somewhat deserving praise coming from a few people. "Thank you, thank you! I hope all of you keep training up your Pokémon and never stray from battle!" Leon shouted once again into the crowd. "And then, come challenge me for the Champion title!" He shouted one last time. The crowd continued to praise the Champion, all while Gloria and Hop are still waiting for his speech to be over. "Yes, Charizard is magnificently strong. But other Pokémon can be strong also." Leon said in response to a question he could somehow hear. "That's why I want the strongest of trainers to fill the Gym Challenge and come battle me!" Leon just... kept on shouting. "My wish for Galar trainers is for them to become the strongest in the world!" Leon yelled this time. 'Does he do this every time he gets off the train?' Gloria pondered. The Charizard roared greatly. Hop could barely contain his excitement anymore, "LEE!" Hop started waving above the crowd. "Hop!" Leon yelled as he walked towards the duo, the crowd opened up like a door.

There he was, standing before them, the unbeatable Champion of Galar.

"So, my number-one fan in all of the world has come to pick me up." Leon said while looking at Hop. "Look at you, Hop. I'd reckon you've grown... about a centimeter and a quarter since the last time I saw you." Leon explained. "Bingo! That's the sort of sharp-eye that's kept you Champion all these years, eh? , Lee?" Hop said. Leon looked over to his left and faced Gloria. "And these bright eyes over here... I've got it, you must be Gloria, right?" Leon asked. "That's me." Gloria replied. "Wow. From how much I've heard about you, you must be Hop's best friend." Leon suggested. 'I wouldn't call us best friends... maybe fairly kinda close friends.' Gloria thought to herself while thinking of a response. "Sorta." Gloria stated. "I'm the greatest Galar region trainer. And a big lover of Charizard's too." Leon explained. Apparently Gloria couldn't figure that one out. "People call me the unbeatable Leon." The Champion said with a slight smirk. "C'mon Lee and Gloria! I bet I could beat both of you home." Hop shouted as he run off to his house. "That Hop... always trying to be the best at everything." Leon sighed. "With a proper rival of his own, I'll bet he could push himself to become something really special." Leon said, mostly directed at Gloria as sort of a *hint*, *hint*, or something. "Well, that's it for now! But do not fret! I'll always be in Galar to make sure everyone has a Champion good time!" Leon shouted at the crowd for the actual final time. Leon gestured at Gloria to follow him as Leon begun to chase Hop down the pathway back to Postwick. Gloria complied and started gaining on Leon's tail.

After running through Route One , Hop, Gloria, and Leon, all arrive at Hop's house. They all stood next to the Pokémon Battleground, where Leon, and Hop had their first Pokémon battle. "Come on Lee! You promised us presents! So out with it!" Hop impatiently said while jumping up and down. "You brought Gloria and me Pokémon, didn't you? Oh, you must have." Hop continued to be impatient. Finally, Leon decided to give out the presents, "Right then... the greatest gift from the greatest Champion..." Leon paused for a moment. Admiring Hop and Gloria's excitement, Though Gloria could contain her excitement better, Leon could still see it through a gleam in her eye.

Leon took a deep breath and said the words, "It's showtime everybody!" before pulling out three Poke-balls from his pockets, and then releasing them to the field. "Take a good look you two!" Leon yelled into the air as a Firetype named Scorbunny, a water type named Sobble, and a grass type named Grookey, all landed on the ground, and immediately started messing around before finally getting in line. Now, I wouldn't say Gloria jumped up and down with excitement. But, she did basically have stars in her eyes. Hop jumped up and down in excitement. "Go on. You pick first, I have my Wooloo after all." Hop said. Gloria nodded and carefully walked in front of the three Pokémon. She felt a bit bad that she was just taking one. But, to be fair, Leon will probably take the one left out. Gloria looked at all three of them, and made her decision fairly quickly.

She stared longingly at the Scorbunny, which stared back. "Your coming with me, Orwell." And thus, the Scorbunny already had a new name and owner. Orwell hopped onto Gloria's shoulder, in which he fit surprisingly well. Gloria giggled lightly. It was sorta unbelievable that she had finally gotten her own Pokémon, and after only a few months of being interested with training. Gloria doesn't even think her Mom knows about this. "So, it'll be Scorbunny for you? Nice choice." Hop said, not being extremely impatient for once. "Alright, I'll pick Grookey then." Hop turned to the small creature. "I'm gonna be the next Champion, so you and I are gonna have to be doing some serious training!" Hop excitingly discloses. "I bet you will be Hop." Leon says in general good spirits for Hop. "That's why I got these Pokémon for you and Gloria. So, you two can grow strong, and great together. And eventually, fight me!" Leon said with a bit of pride hidden. Leon walked over to Sobble, who was a bit confused. "Don't worry, you'll come with me. Charizard will show you the ropes, he's strict, but real strong and kind too!" Leon mentions as the Sobble agrees to go to his side.

Suddenly, Gloria's Mom and Hop's Mom appear out of the house. "Alright! Enough of this trainer nonsense for one night. Dinner's ready, bring your Pokémon too, we can all eat!" Hop's Mom shouted towards the pack of human and Pokémon. The trio, including their Pokémon, head on over inside Hop's house. And ate a hefty dinner while their at it.

Once they were done, Gloria said her goodbyes as she took her Scorbunny back to her house, and happily slept in her bed.
