Chapter 1
The sun is slowly rising which is showing the window to lighten up the room.
A 2-year-old blk/deep red Long coated sire Magnum German shepherd dog was awakened by the sunlight.
He blinks his eyes and stretches his body limbs with a long-opened mouth to let out a yawn.
"YAAAAWWWWN."
He looked up at his mistress still sleeping in her bed. So, he eagerly jumps on the bed to give her morning kisses.
"Ugh, really Fox. Have you ever heard the term sleep off on my day off?" She mumbled sleepily. Fox the long-haired german shepherd bark happily.
"BARK!"
"Yes. Yes. I know you want food." She slowly pushes him off of her and jumps off the bed. Fox happily followed to the kitchen.
Plus, she needs to feed the cats with a big portion.
"Meow." She heard her cat called her. She bends down to pet her black male Cornish rex cat name Klarion.
"Hey big daddy," She cooed at Klarion. "You excited being a dad for change?"
Klarion rubbed himself around her legs and meows nonstop.
"Yes, yes. I know we will have more kittens to raise and feed soon."
Are you probably wondering who is this person?
Mary Magdalene Hausmannnin. Yes, she is expected to be fully called Mary Magdalene or M&M for short. A child, Mary Magdalene Hausmannnin is placed in foster care when her mother, Delilah, is diagnosed with schizophrenia after doing some odd behaviors of protecting her daughter. So, neighbors are beginning to worry since she hasn't been to school at all. Police had received calls that are given of some fears of Satan or witches ritual that people feared was going to hurt her. She didn't remember any of that, but she suffers seizures and was left in the hospitals.
So after being discharged from hospitals. She enters foster care after foster care that suffers strange events like each death of foster parents uncovers secrets.
Some were drug attics.
Some were abusers.
One was a slave driver.
The caseworker of hers knew about it but keep quiet.
Before police were about to arrest her caseworker, but she was gone. One of the middle school kids found her, but she was turned into a scarecrow.
It shocked Riverdale. They fear her because many of their lies and dark secrets were uncover by Mary Magdalene that they fear going near her or else her magic can expose them.
So, you could say that whatever her mom did to her as a child. Riverdale citizens had whispered that she is the Devil's mistress. Luckily, for her, she was convinced that the court that won her favor to declared emancipated by the court.
She worked a part-time job at the Veterinary hospitals.
She is happily living a free life.
Mary Magdalene went to feed her other cat. Carrying a bigger bowl for her beloved grey sphynx cat named Gypsy who is heavily pregnant.
Gypsy heard her mistress plus she smells food. "Hey mama," She cooed as she places the bowl closed to Gypsy's side which made the cat purred and stretch a little.
Now she went back to eat her breakfast.
"When is Gypsy going to have her kitten?"
Smiling as she heard a little boy's voice. She turned and saw a cute 12-year-old boy who was murdered and the cold case is unsolved in 1969.
Danny Novikov had moved to American in his second generation of Soviet Russian to immigrate to Riverdale.
Danny enjoyed math, science, and chemistry. He skipped a grade when he was 8 years old to join his older sister's grade.
Rockets are his life.
This is her gift. She believes it is because she was near death or did die that ghost seems to come all around. She tried to get him crossover, but he insisted that he has to know how he died. She did look over any hints of records or signs of his death.
None so far.
"Yes, Danny. Are you going to be a good boy today?"
Today, she is taking her dog for a walk.
"Yup! Oh, no doubt that Tommy needs my help on his math tutoring today?"
"Try not scared the parents." Many times, parents are concerned, but none realized that their children were playing with a ghost.
"I won't! See ya!" He disappeared.
Mary Magdalene finished her breakfast and put on a leash on Fox's collar.
She took a stroll around the sidewalks with Fox happily at her side. They jugged up a bit and aim for the forest. She doesn't know why she likes going to the woods. It feels like magic. Non-pun intended.
That is when she noticed some police and ambulance are there at the lake. Fox whines are he looked at the lake nervously. That is where she sees her fellow outcast and loner, Jughead Jones.
"What happened?" She questions him. Jughead looked briefly at his only friend that he got left. Fox seems eager to get Jughead's attention.
It made Jughead smile at the dog's antics.
"They said Jason Blossom drowned." Mary Magdalene looked surprised, but her sights went back to where the boats are searching for Jason's whereabouts.
She noticed her least favorite people.
The Coopers, Hal, and Alice.
They are huge perfective, extreme hypocrite parents in all of Riverdale.
"If he is dead, how? I hope in those last moments he suffered. May Jason Blossom burn in hell." Alice said to her husband.
Mary Magdalene shakes her head in disgust.
Jughead looked at her then back at Cooper's.
"Come on, Let's get out of here." Jughead took hold of her hand and they walked together.
They walked away from the scene and aim for the diner at Pops.
They eat outside with Fox eating his ground meat in his bowl.
"Sooooo," Mary Magdalene nonclonally was about to ask him, but he stops her.
"No, I'm not going to let you read the first chapter."
She huffed at him.
She can't help it. She is curious since she was introduced to many murder mystery novels. They were her true love. She even liked to watch Investigation discovery of Deadly Women, Deadly devotion, Snapped, CSI Investigations, criminal minds, and all the stuff.
Oh yeah, she loved stuff like that.
"So, have you heard or seen his you know?" Jughead whispers to her. Jughead knew of her sight or at least hinted at her.
"No, in fact, I don't think he is dead yet."
Spirits who usually had problems or at least made her seen them before they are gone.
"So any theory?" Jughead leaned forward to hear her theory. This is usually a game in theories like they guess or evidence they heard or know.
"First, the odd thing is that the water current is not rough or strong enough to tip the boat over."
"But Cheryl said that she drops the glove." True that is what the police were told.
"Enough force on the boat to tip over."
"Okay, even if they did what you think is the reason?" Jughead has his paper and pencil ready.
"First theory, is that Cheryl made a plan somehow or Jason." Jughead writes that theory down.
"Second is that Blossom family had many enemies." Got that written down.
"Which is everyone in Riverdale." Jughead comment.
"Yeah, but I am confused about the sound of a gun if Jason and Cheryl were fallen off their boat." Mary Magdalene is puzzled.
"Hunting groups."
"Or a warning shot."
Jughead paused and looked at her. "you don't think…?"
"Maybe someone did have a reason to get Jason."
"Or Cheryl."
"If I would be a killer, would I have to make sure that I aim the gun at the right target and not missed?"
Jughead made a hummed comment. "True, but shouldn't the real target would be on the parents. Shouldn't that given them more understandable to kill them than their children?"
"Unless it is about the whole son that is considered the sin of the father."
"Riiiight." He agreed.
"Third theory, run away."
"What?" He choked at that suggestion.
"Oh come, have you seen what they treated everyone even their children. I would run away from the sight of them. Plus, don't you think Jason wanted to get back at his parents for what happened to Polly Cooper."
Jughead and Mary Magdalene looked and silent about what happened to Polly Cooper. Jason Blossom and Polly Cooper dated for a while, but both parents disapprove of their relationship. It was like suppose a typical 'Romeo and Juliet story, but Jason broke up with her. Polly Cooper suffered a mental breakdown that she was sent away into Mercy's house.
Polly's family couldn't forgive the Blossom family because of Jason.
"Okay, maybe not about that but perhaps to protect his sister, Cheryl." She changes her theory.
"There we go." He agreed with her.
They spend the afternoon on theory before she returns to her house to feed the cats and herself. Saying goodbye to each other and left.
Riverdale High~
Mary Magdalene returned to school for her sophomore year. She walked with Jughead to their doomed.
Principal Waldo Weatherbee gave an announcement about the school year and as well about Jason Blossom's death. But also, a special guest.
"Now, announcing. That we have a new counselor, Dr. Hannibal Lector. Please give him a warm welcome."
Everyone clapped at the new staff member.
Mary Magdalene paused her applause when she shivers in fear and excitement. She saw the darkness in Dr. Hannibal Lector.
"Hello, students. I am pleased to be part of this school. Don't think of me as a teacher or a judge. Think of me of someone who will listen and give you my best help as I can." Hannibal said as he continues his speech, but kept his eye on one particular student that intrigue him.
Many did not notice that he is eyeing Mary Magdalene in the seats.
Jughead noticed something off about her. He doesn't know what's up, but he sure does not like the look of this guy.
He took hold of her hand and held it to comfort her.
She appreciates his comfort.
She knows everyone has darkness in themselves. However, Hannibal Lector is the most dangerous wolf among the sheep.
