Summary:
Still poisoned by her crimes as a Dark Signer, Misty Lola considers confronting Divine in prison.
Ccarayhua spat him out upon being swallowed back into the dirt. Divine, the mastermind behind her brother's end. The remorseless cult figure behind the Arcadia Movement, who manipulated his underlings, her brother, and Izayoi Aki-san, all while wearing a sociopath's grin.
Why can't Divine stay dead? She found herself appealing to the demons.
Aslla piscu's attack sent him the same number of floors Carly fell when she died, yet Divine lived. Went away for a while with retaliation in his thoughts and a repulsive scar to match his ugly soul. Went away, only to show his maimed face when Misty was punishing the wrong person.
The evil beast gloated about his personal hand in Tobi's murder and the redirection of blame onto his prized psychic pupil. The life of a child meant nothing to him! He took joy in it and the pain it caused her!
Misty took no joy hearing the screams of the citizens they sacrificed to the Earthbound Gods.
The memory of Divine's unabashed villainy and despicable laughter petrified Misty. He had no standards. Whatever benefitted him!
Why hadn't she forgotten? Why was Carly the one among them to forget? That was just wildly inconsistent.
She tried to visualize what he'd look like through the visitation screen when the time came for her to sit.
The awfulness of a man that awful couldn't possibly falter.
So Misty was between a rock and a hard place.
Move on down the course the Signers gave her – guilt raw – as Divine continued to breathe.
Or do something to choke Divine, wrapping up the death Ccarayhua's defeat undid.
Scylla, the poison glance of her fang-baring reflection she must moult to escape.
Charybdis, the unseen extent of her vengefulness, suppressed in a churning vortex.
Carly, I envy you.
Misty decided she didn't want to see Divine.
She knew what he would look like. The smug, unrepentant snake.
There was closure out there for her, but not here.
