Zurg is long gone and there is still a great deal of evil out there. A life star is a special thing it can change the lives of so many and even do rebirth. Warp Darkmatter has been arrested again. This time the charges on his are strong. Buzz gives the suggest of rebirth as a sentence to give any evil doer including Warp a chance to become something better. Warp agrees and is reborn as a child of his species soon discovered by Buzz and his new Wife Ozma Furbanna and take him in as their own. All though Ozma is not to sure about it at first.

chapter 1

"Buzz are you sure about this after all you said Warp can be sneaky about things," Ozma said.

"I know but I want to help him because although Warp is sneaky he has helped me several times even though he was on the side of evil, so I believe there is a chance for some good in him," Buzz said.

Once in the prison the warden saw him. "Ah Mr. and Mrs. Lightyear nice to see you what brings you here today?" he asked.

"We are here to see Warp Darkmatter with an offer," Buzz said.

"What offer is that?" the warden asked.

"To go through rebirth through the life star," Buzz said.

"It seems highly unorthodox." the Warden said.

"I know it is but I hope he will take it, because I hope everyone has a chance to find a chance to do good some day and become something better," Buzz said.

"If you say so," the warden said.

Once at the cell Buzz saw Warp sitting in his cell. "Well, well, well look who's here Buzz Lightyear and his new wife Ozma Furbanna Lightyear. Congrats by the way," Warp said.

Ozma was about to snap at him but Buzz touched her arm. "Now Warp we have an offer for you." Buzz said.

"What kind of offer if it is to join Star command again no way," Warp said.

"No Warp it's for rebirth through the life star," Buzz said.

Warp looked startled. "That's crazy! I know it's strange but why?" Warp said.

"To get another chance to become something even better a chance to be a better man one day a chance to have a loving family and home. A chance to have one thing you may have always wanted, Warp." Buzz said.

"Yes so think about it, Warp because I would rather slap you right about now," Ozma said.

"Ozma," Buzz said.

"She's a keeper Lightyear," Warp said. He sat there for a few minutes. "Fine Lightyear I take your offer just because this is not my first choice of an offer or I rather the offer be something else. I will take the offer and hopefully make the most of my new life and whatever it may throw at me, now I want to be alone if you don't mind," Warp said.

"Very well Warp good luck whatever life the life star gives you when you are reborn next." Buzz said. He and Ozma left after that. "I hope whatever happens to you in your new life old buddy you will be happy," he said.

"You still think of him as your buddy after all he did?" Ozma asked.

"Yes Ozma, he has helped several times before he was evil and after he became evil, because I know he has some good in him, I believe even if one is evil there is still good in there just waiting to come out," Buzz said. "Because I have belief that hearts can change even evil hearts." Buzz told her.

"If you say so," Ozma said.

Once leaving for his home Buzz wondered if he would ever see Warp again.

9 years later.

Buzz was looking outside sadly he and Ozma has been trying to have a child for years and had no luck. Then they found out Ozma couldn't have children. They didn't know what to think but maybe they could still become parents some way.

They found a way adoption. They could give an orphan a home. They were going to Morph orphanage to find a child today and they wondered who to choose there. They had a room set up for a young child.

Ozma was awake. "Morning Buzz," Ozma said.

"Morning Ozma," Buzz said.

"Today is the big day, so let's get ready to go," she said.

They headed to the orphanage.

Once there they saw the caretakers. "Hello Buzz and Ozma Lightyear we have been waiting for you." the lady said.

There were lots of kids playing, running around and having so much fun. "They are a so wonderful who to pick," Buzz said.

"We will know soon enough," Ozma said.

Buzz looked over and saw a child of Warp's species sitting over by himself reading a book. In fact he looked a little bit like Warp but different. "Ozma look," Buzz said.

"Oh my word," Ozma said seeing the child.

"It's Altion," Buzz said.

"Yes I know," Ozma said.

"Excuse me uh..." Buzz said.

"Martha," the lady said.

"Martha who is that?" Buzz asked.

"That is Walter he's been here for many years, he has been here since he was a baby," Martha said. "His mother didn't want him so he was put up for adoption and he has been here ever since," she said.

"Has anybody tried to adopt him?" Buzz asked.

"No, he's a fine child as are all the children of the species around the universe we have here, it's just sometimes some children are never adopted for some reason even I can't explain it. The poor kid is going to be nine in the spring." Martha said.

"Can I talk to Walter?" Buzz asked.

"Sure," Martha said. Martha and Buzz came up. "Walter, this Buzz Lightyear he wants to talk to you," she said.

"Okay," Walter said.

Buzz sat down at the table. "Hello Walter," Buzz said.

"Hi, I heard a lot about you Buzz Lightyear, you are pretty cool," Walter said.

"Thanks so what are you reading?" Buzz asked.

"The smallest space ranger, it's my favorite book." Walter said.

"That was my favorite book too when I was your age, in fact I was your age when I decided I wanted to be a space ranger," Buzz said.

"I really want to be space ranger too," Walter said.

"Yeah right Walter like the Academy would accept a lame loser like you who can't get adopted your own mom didn't want you! So why would star command want you in fact no place would hire you, you will be homeless." a kid shouted.

"Stop it," Walter said starting to cry.

"Cry baby!" the kid said.

"Excuse me that is not nice," Buzz said.

"Come on it's the truth," the kid said.

"Listen, Star command doesn't care about ones species or family or background, or race or even if you are even disabled. What makes a true space ranger is the heart." Buzz said. "So anyone can be space ranger even Walter." he said.

"Whatever," the kid said and left.

"Walter don't listen to him, I remember some people made fun of me for my dream to be a space ranger too and said could be one because all the family I had was my grandmother nana Lightyear. So they don't know what they are talking about," Buzz told him.

"Thanks," Walter said. "I think you may want to find and be with the kid you want to adopt I know I am not the one," he said.

Buzz felt his heart break at the sadness in Walter's voice. "Walter in fact you are the only one I am interested in, I want to take you home." Buzz said. Ozma came over. "This my wife and I want you to be our child." he said.

"Really?" Walter asked.

"Really," Buzz said. "Ozma I can see Walter is the one," he said.

Ozma looked at Walter he looked very sweet and all alone in this universe. Then she looked at Buzz and saw how much he seemed to want Walter to be there child. She nodded.

"Walter we want you to come home with us," Buzz said.

"Really?" Walter asked getting excited.

"Yes go get your things," Buzz said.

"Buzz are you sure he looks a bit like him you know," Ozma said.

"Warp is gone Ozma Walter is different now he has no memories of his past so he needs a chance," Buzz said.

"Your right I will try." Ozma said.

Buzz and Warpnia signed the papers and Walter got into the car with his things. "Bye Walter." the kids called waving.

"Bye guys," Walter said.

They made it to Buzz's home. "Here we are home sweet home." Buzz said.

Walter looked around and Buzz lead him to his room. "This is your room," Buzz said.

"Wow," Walter said.

He placed his stuff down and was looking all over the place. "This amazing," he said.

"Well Walter I hope you like it here," Buzz said.

It was getting later. "Come Walter it's late it's time for you to go to bed." Buzz said.

"Okay," Walter said. Walter got into bed and saw Buzz turn out the light. "Mr. Lightyear?" he asked.

"Yes?" Buzz asked.

"Can I call you daddy?" Walter asked.

"I would like that very much Walter." Buzz said. "Good night Walter," he said.

"Night daddy," Walter said.

The next day was the family party at Star command. Buzz and Ozma got ready. Walter was a little nervous to say the least. "Come on Walter it's time to go," Buzz said.

"Coming daddy," Walter said. He ran up to Buzz and he saw Ozma who looked him he was unsure what to make of his adoptive mother. She seemed a bit distant towards him.

They drove for a while and made it to the party. Once there many of the Rangers and their families turned their heads and looked at them. Walter was nervous and suddenly shrank behind Buzz. "Daddy why are they staring?" Walter asked.

"It's because they don't know you," Buzz said. "Come on let's introduce them to you so you are not such a mystery." he told him as he took Walter's hand. Walter wanted more security and took Ozma's hand. Ozma noticed this and was a little surprised and shocked about this. Yet it made a warm feeling in her heart that Walter wanted to be close to her.

"It's going to be okay Walter," Ozma told him with smile.

"Okay Mrs. Lightyear," Walter said. Then looked at her again. "Is it okay if I call you mommy?" he asked.

Ozma felt her heart warm up again. "Sure you can call me that," Ozma said Walter was started to worm his way into her heart. "Hello Lightyear and Dr. Furbanna Lightyear," Commander Nebula said.

"Greetings commander." Buzz said.

Commander Nebula looked down and saw Walter. "So this is the kid you adopted what is his name?" Nebula asked.

"His name name is Walter." Buzz said.

"Hello Walter I am Commander Nebula," Nebula said.

"Hi," Walter said.

There were other rangers that Buzz knew. Rocket Crockett was with his family. Mira and her father were nearby. Booster and his folks were there. XR was there with XL, Ty was there too with his family.

"There are so many of them," Walter said.

"Yes there are," Buzz said. "I know them," he said.

"Walter how are feeling about being here at the family picnic?" Nebula asked.

"Excited because I finally have a family when I was born my mom didn't want me, my birth family didn't want me so they left me at the that orphanage as a baby, and I am also a bit nervous because I'm a little shy," Walter said.

Commander Nebula was shocked to say the least. "Well you are lucky Buzz Lightyear is a great space ranger and Ozma Furbanna Lightyear is great scientist who studies animals." Nebula said.

"I am going to say hi to the team," Buzz said.

Ozma saw some of the children playing nearby. "Walter why don't you go play with them?" Ozma said.

"I don't know I never played with anyone not from the orphanage before," Walter said.

"Don't worry just go up there and say hello and ask if you can play with them," Ozma said.

"Okay," Walter said and walked over to where the space rangers own kids, nieces, nephews, little cousins and siblings were playing. They saw him come over. "Hi," he said.

"Hi," one of them said.

"Can I play?" Walter asked.

"Sure," he told him.

Walter started playing with other kids. Buzz came over. "Ozma where is Walter?" Buzz asked.

"He's over there playing with the other kids," Ozma said pointing.

Buzz took a look and saw Walter playing with the other kids. "Wow he looks like he is having funny," Buzz said.

Sometime passed. "Walter come on it's time to go home." Buzz called.

"Coming," Walter said. "Bye," he told the kids he ran up to Buzz and Ozma.

Once home they tucked him in. "Tomorrow we are shopping for school supplies because you are going to start school on Thursday," Buzz said.

"Okay," Walter said.

The next morning Walter selected a space ranger backpack and lunchbox, he grabbed a blue notebook and a space ranger pencil case, he even got some pencils and things for lunch. He even grabbed some valentines. Because the day he was going to school was valentines day and the class was going to have a valentine's day party and hand out Valentines.

That night Walter filled out all the Valentines for his Third grade class this was going to be a different school than the one he first went too. So he was plenty nervous.
