A/N: Feeling a little under the weather so I decided to write some Topaz fluff instead of working on things that I'm supposed to. Don't worry; it ain't Covid. Just a normal fucking flu virus that'll fuck me out of work for a week or so.

Soup

Summary: Jaune put a hand on her forehead, feeling her burning up. "Do you want anything while I'm up and awake?" Emerald tightened her grip on the blanket with a weak groan, only the top of her head now poking out. "Food."

Emerald decided she did hate everyone else's lives as the fever wreaked havoc through her body. She especially hated whoever was the jackass who got her sick in the first place. The green haired woman groaned in pain, her joints burning and limbs heavy. "I hate people…"

"Even me?" Jaune Arc asked with a small grin, forcing her to take a sip of water. When it came to dealing with the flu, it was best to stay hydrated even if it was a lot of work.

"You're an exception." Emerald huffed and pulled her blanket up to cover most of her face, coughing. "Ugh…I wanna die…"

"Sorry, but I can't allow that. Something about Ozpin wanting more exchange students to try out his coffee recipe, I think."

Emerald let out a wheezing laugh that turned into a ragged cough, sniffling. "Do not make me laugh."

"Hmm, I seem to remember Professor Port saying laughter is the best medicine."

"You don't actually believe that do you?"

"No. I believe that about as much as I believe his stories." Jaune smirked.

"Yep, there it is." Emerald rolled her eyes and coughed again, this time some mucus coming out. "Ugh…gross."

"There, there." The blond patted her hair and she let out a sickly purr, wiping her mouth with a tissue. At least she had a box of them right next to her bed in case she needed to blow her nose or cough up half a lung, so it could be worse.

Jaune put a hand on her forehead, feeling her burning up. "Do you want anything while I'm up and awake?"

Emerald tightened her grip on the blanket with a weak groan, only the top of her head now poking out. "Food…"

"Alright, alright. Let me see what I can whip up for you."

The blond man left his sick girlfriend to rest for a bit longer, strolling into the small dorm kitchen to see what he had lying around the cupboard. He winced when he saw how empty it was; he definitely needed to go out shopping sometime this week. Damn, I thought I had more in there.

Rummaging through it quietly, he plucked out a box of chicken noodle soup and looked at the instructions on the packet to see how long it would take to make. Five minutes at most. Okay, that was doable.

He wasn't by any means a master cook like Ren, but he knew enough from having grown up with seven sisters. He wasn't a complete idiot. Looking at you, Yang.

Once he had finished cooking, he scooped some into a bowl and grabbed a spoon for his adorably sick girlfriend. "Em! Food's here!"

No response.

"Em?" Jaune poked his head into the bedroom and sighed. Emerald was completely passed out, snoring lightly and shivering a little.

Jaune sighed and set the bowl down next to her on the bedside table, taking his hoodie off and draping it over her. She'd eat it later on when she was able to somewhat function.

The blond didn't even get to walk five feet away before he started to sneeze. "Oh for…"

A/N: Seriously, fuck this goddamn flu. Still, at least it ain't Covid. Now, back to NieR Replicant.
