Note: You wanted it so here it is! This is a one-shot series based on different AUs. Now, I've watched the 2019 series and I gotta say I love it but there wasn't a lot for me to work off of so it's not going to be a FULL series like the 2012 version but there will be many chapters so I hope you all look forward to that! Oh, and to new readers this is a continuation of sorts for You Were So Real. To get a better understanding of the OCs it's best to read that first. Or don't and just have fun with it. More on the bottom!

Dubstep echoed through the silent, single person apartment. The mid morning sun shone through the window into the bedroom and down on a figure sleeping in their bed but they were protected from the evil rays due to the blanket enveloped around them. It wasn't long though til the warmth of said rays began to get a little too warm for them. With the help from the now burning rays the dubstep began to cause the figure to stir as they registered the sound and unnatural warmth til they reached their hand out and slammed it down on their phone grasping at it, sliding it off the nightstand and into the confines of the comfortable blanket cave. Squinting from the blinding light of their phone they gave a quick glance at the time, 9:34am, and the identification of the person who disturbed their slumber.

"Hello?" Groaned the half awake figure.
"Heeeey, Kara. I hope I didn't get you at a bad time."
"You did."
"Perfect! Listen, I need you to cover my shift tonight. My dog is, like, really sick and I need to watch over them so they don't hurt themselves. He's, like, family to me, ya know?"

Kara slowly sat up, the blanket sliding off their body to reveal long, black hair that covered their back and the front of their face, almost resembling the grudge herself. "Cut the crap, Stacy, you used that excuse last month except your dog had died. What is it?" She let out a sigh not enjoying being up right now.

"Ok, fine, there's a scheduled birthday tonight and I don't want to deal with a horde of little gremlins."
"That sounds like a personal problem. This is the third time you've asked me to cover your shift and tonight I had plans so forget it." Her brows narrowed under her hair and she moved the phone away to hang up already dreaming of sleep.
"Wait! I'll make it worth your time!"

Kara froze for a second, staring at her phone. Despite how lazy Stacy was, always calling in on their busiest nights, she was never one to go back on her word when offering a reward. "I'm listening."

"Two trays of my cinnamon rolls and my mom gave me some free passes to the Museum that just opened up. No matter how many times I tell her how uninterested I am she, like, never listens. Parents, am I right?"

Kara cursed herself internally. Food; her one weakness. She rubbed her eyes, wiping away the eye crust and slouched in defeat. "Make it three and we got a deal." The passes weren't a bad trade either though.

"Grrr, fine! Three and those stupid passes. The party starts at 5pm so be there at 4-" Click.

That was all the information she needed. Kara set her phone down and dropped on to her bed to resume her sleep. After thirty seconds though her eyes snapped opened and she glared into nothing when her body refused her orders of sleep. With a groan she pushed herself out of bed and dragged her bare feet to the bathroom to start her daily routine, her oversized shirt sliding down one shoulder as she scratched her head with her other arm bringing her phone along the journey, pulling up her music playlist.

After her wake up routine she walked into her small kitchen, light sweat glistening from her forehead from the light stretches and exercises she just finished and grabbed everything she needed to make a bowl of cereal, idly singing along to the music. Once that task was done she stopped her music and turned on the TV, which was on the morning news. While eating and scrolling through her phone, the sounds from the TV merely being used as background noise, certain words caught her attention that you wouldn't hear from a serious newscaster such as Warren Stone; "Salami", "Stolen Paper", and "Wrecked Ship."
She blinked, looking up from her phone to see footage of the aftermath of some attack where a docked ship was overcome with paper. More footage showed the clean up crew picking up slices of salami looking just as confused as she. "Must of been a prank." She shrugged before going back to her phone and sugary cereal.

Laughing at a video of the latest memes she lifted her eyes when she heard a knock on her door. She glanced at the time on her phone and sighed her attention going back to her phone, ignoring the sound of the door unlocking.

The door opened and in stepped a 5'7 woman with matching long hair, straightened and clean to where it resembled a porcelain doll, light makeup decorating their slim face yet it could not hide the emotionless steel in their blue and purple eyes as they walked through the living room and straight to Kara, their heels crushing the not so clean carpet beneath their feet. "Good morning, Kara. I'm surprised the see you awake so early. I'm the one who usually ends up waking you." They said with a bored expression, looking over their manicured and painted nails.

"What do you know, miracles do happen." Kara replied with no emotion at all, keeping her attention on her phone.

The woman picked up the box of cereal, her lip lifting with a hint of disgust. "I give you enough money for your rent and food and you still buy stuff that's terrible for your body. You don't want to become fat, do you?" She set the box down, sliding it away from her.

"Your money is where I always keep it. You're welcome to take it back." She glanced up at her for a millisecond before going back to her phone, drinking the milk that was left over.

"And your hair. It looks unkept." She walked up behind her, running her fingers through her hair, her nails getting caught in a few small knots before she ran her hand over her bangs showing off her different colored eyes, her left eye blue and her right eye purple, similar to that of woman behind her. "You're still not buying the shampoo I told you to get, are you? If you don't care for your hair like I do you'll end up looking a mess. Despite your..lifestyle you still need to go out in public. You need to take care of your image."

Kara's purple eye twitched and she set her phone down. "Is that all? I have to get ready for work." She shoved herself away from the table, causing the woman to take a step back to give her some space, and set her empty bowl and spoon in the sink.

"Oh, yes, the "restaurant". Why do you continue to live like this? You could live a life of luxury if you joined the family and not like..."

"Like what? Living by my rules? Not having to please people I don't even know just for fancy living and wealth? Despite what you think I'm happy with the way I'm living. Heck, Aunt-"
"Don't! Don't say her name." The woman snapped, narrowing her eyes at Kara but when she saw her surprised expression she closed her eyes and sighed. "Just don't. "
"She would be proud of me. Why can't you be?" Kara lowered her head, folding her arms with a saddened look.

The woman stared at her for a minute, her mouth opening for a moment before closing, and walked past her setting down a wad of cash on the desk. "I'll be in the city for two weeks. I'll see you when I can. Goodbye Kara." She turned and walked towards the door.
"Mother." Was all she said for a goodbye, having the same emotionless tone as when she entered, watching her mother's back as she walked out the door not able to see the heartbroken pain etched on her face, closing the door after her.

Kara let out a long sigh as she slumped on the couch. The day just started for her and she already wanted it to be over. She picked up a strand of her hair and pouted. "Atleast I kept the family hairdo." She muttered while dropping the strand and got up to waste time before getting ready for work.

Sporting a yellow shirt with an orange striped vest over it, black capri slacks, and white shoes with socks she adjusted her nametag on her left breast before putting her hair up in a high ponytail and slipping the tail through the hole of her hat above the strap and placed it snug over her head, making sure her bangs covered her purple eye. She posed in the mirror, grinning at how she could make anything look good and walked towards the door, grabbing her bag by the strap and slipping it on to her shoulder's only to freeze when she saw the wad of cash for the month left by her mother. Her expression still she stared at it before picking it up and dropping it inside the drawer with the other money left behind, untouched, and stopped at the door to gather her keys.

She unclipped a keychain from the keys and held it out in front of her. It looked like a bland solid keychain til she pressed down on the top and out popped a metal staff that made her smirk, spinning it around in her hand. To the normal eye it looked like she knew what she was doing but to the professional there were many obvious mistakes. "Heh, day eighty five and it is still impressive." She pushed it back to it's hidden keychain form and clipped it to her decorative belt hugging loose around her waist before heading out the door, locking her home behind her, and placed her headphones to her ears to listen to music on the walk to work. "Albearto's here I come..on my day off."

By the time she arrived the parent's of the birthday kid were already there to make sure the decorations were in place and to their specifications. She was surprised to see April O'Neil doing the decorating looking as energetic as always. They weren't really friends but she was one of the few she could tolerate and even have a decent conversation with. "Must be tough customers." She said under her breath watching April zoom here and there while the mother barked orders at her. When the parents walked away she went up to April and gave her a light wave.

"Hey, April, I guess you're the "Party Captain" tonight, huh? Are you gonna be able to handle it?" She asked with a playful smile and raised brow.
"Oh, nothing is stopping me from finally making it through the birthday song-"
"And cake." Kara chimed in.
"And cake! Cause honestly, heh, my job is on the line at this point." April clenched her fists with a determined glint in her eye and smirk on her mouth though it couldn't hide the nervous sweat on her face.
"You never cease to amaze me with your unlimited energy, April." Kara sighed softly but the smile stayed the same.
"Speaking of job...why are you here?" April asked with a raised brow, remembering seeing Kara had the day off.

It took one look from Kara to answer her question.
"Stacy."
"Stacy." Kara confirmed.
"Gah! Why do you let her do this to you? I don't even know why she works here if she can't stand kids!" April crossed her arms, an annoyed pout crossing her face.
"Two words, April, Cinnamon Rolls."
That was all it took for April to take back her statement. "Girl, I don't know how she does it, but man can she make some cinnarolls."
"And I got three batches for tonight so I guess I can handle the chaos." She shrugged her shoulder knowing deep down she could use the extra money for living expenses. "Well, see you on the other side. Hope you finally make it tonight." She gave April a wave and walked towards the machine to clock-in and begin making the pizzas for the party and the cake.

She set her stuff down in the employee corner of the kitchen and pulled out her portable speakers and connected her phone through the bluetooth, playing her music. She nodded to the rhythm of the song playing while washing her hands and slid to where the aprons were while wiping her hands dry and pulled one out to put on. She stepped to the beat as she made her way to the fridge where the cool ingredients were and blinked in surprise to see the cake already made and decorated, a see through film over it so the colored icing wouldn't bleed. "You make me want to hate you, Stacy, then you do stuff like this. Dunno why you just won't quit and become a baker." She closed her eyes to leave the cake in there and started to knead the dough for the crust.

Time had slipped past Kara's mind for she was too immersed in making pizza as fast as her human reflexes would allow her, knowing deep down these kids weren't eating half of it. Images of the children throwing her hard work at anything and everything was slowing her down til her worst fear played in her mind of seeing the little kids crawling over the animatronics like spiders and shoving the slices in the mouth's to the point her manager would force her to clean them up. "I barely know the basics of electronics! I can't handle all that by myself!" She screamed out, grabbing her cheeks with flour covered fingers that she clutched at in despair. She snapped out of her thoughts when the oven timer went off and she sighed, wiping her hands on her already dirtied apron and went over to take out of the pies.

After the pizza rush had calmed down she gave herself a break and started to clean herself up when one of her all time, never skipped, favorite songs came on. A smile grew on her face and she closed her eyes while listening to, "Dancin'" by Aaron Smith. It was one of the few songs in her favorite playlists that made her feel relaxed and safe.
Her back was to the door when it burst opened and three alien looking turtle people walked in stiff like a robot. When she turned around and saw them, she blinked and stood still.

The three of them froze seeing a human in the kitchen, all of them now having a staring contest.
"Raph, what do we do?" Mikey asked, starting to grow nervous.

Before he could answer though, Kara began to speak.
"So, what are you three suppose to be? New characters?" She asked curiously while positioning herself so her full attention was on them looking over their color coordination and props.

"Uhhhh-yes. Yes, that's correct." Leo stated, pointing his finger as a matter-of-factly. "We're a new addition to the Albearto family that's trying to broaden their horizons."

Kara raised a brow at the tall, lean, blue alien looking turtle person, crossing her arms.

"Yeah, like, uh, trying to appeal to a much younger crowd." Raph added in.

"Much younger than three to five year olds?" She questioned the towering, wide, red alien looking turtle person "I'm not sure that's possible.."

"Well, not with that attitude, young lady. That's why we're the ones in costume and you're not." Mikey pouted, crossing his arms and turning his head away with a harumph.

She stared at the same height as her, slender, orange turtle before raspberrying and letting out a laugh. "Well, it's not like my opinion matters, I'm just the one who makes the pizza." She shrugged and walked over to them. "The name's Kara and I gotta say..these are very detailed costumes, it practically looks real! Though the added markings seem a little much." She reached her hand out touching the red masked arm, blinking curiously at the one second contact before they pulled their arm away.

"We're trying not to dirty them up. Testing day, you know?" He chuckled nervously, sweat sliding down the side of his head. Kara stared at them for a moment only to smile and turn around, holding her arm out. "Well, if you need a break from work then this is the place to do it. I made some extra pizza that the kid's aren't screaming for so have at thee." She grabbed a slice for herself and sat down at her tiny office, munching on the slice.

"So, what exactly are you suppose to be? Turtle ninja aliens?" She glanced at their masks and props now making more pizza for her new coworkers while they hung out with her; keeping her curiosity as to why they aren't back to work to herself.

"More like turtle ninja mutants." The blue one said just before shoving another slice in to his mouth.

"I feel like we can say that better though." The orange one commented beside her, helping her roll out the dough.

"Eh, I'm sure something will come to mind. It's better than pizza ingredients owning a pizza shop." She grinned at them while the red one was going through her music selection, the kitchen silent aside from their talking and the ticking of the oven timer. She blinked when she heard music outside in the lobby but instead of the usual recordings it sounded like an actual concert was playing right out the door. "Huh, wonder if the manager finally upgraded their systems. Stupid cheapskate." She muttered under her breath only to blink in surprise when the power suddenly went out.

The red one had his finger frozen above her screen having just now picked a song and a slice of pizza held to his mouth mid bite only for the gooey cheese to slid out of his mouth and onto the floor. "This can't be good."

"Stupid cheapskate." She muttered a little louder, holding out a clenched fist, and walked out the kitchen to go complain to said manager only to blink in surprise when she saw Albearto with his face mask torn up tearing up the birthday kid's presents. "What the.." She turned her head watching April lead the kids to safety outside only to see Albearto stalking towards her while her back was turned. She immediately unclipped her hidden staff and went to distract Albearto when suddenly the red one flew past her with his props out and punched Albearto away from April. She stared in shock when his fist had a red aura like glow when it made contact with the robot, who had landed onto a table that broke from it's weight, only to get back up as if nothing happened. "Bonjourno, kiddies." It greeted.

"We'll fix it, April. He may have the crazy but we got the numbers. Go ahead and bounce if you need to." The red one said while the orange and blue one came up behind him, the blue one leaning against his sword prop while picking at his teeth with a toothpick, and the orange one twirling his yo-yo props rather professionally.

"Wait, April, you know these guys?" Kara asked, all of them looking at her as if just now realizing she was there.
"Kara! You need to get out of-"

"Don't leave. I haven't handed out the party invitations yet." Albearto said, which surprised Kara. "Wait, that's not one of his lines." She blinked when cords flew out of his mouth towards Cheery Tomato and President Pepperoni, hacking and bringing them to life, both now side by side with Albearto.

"Uh, he's bringing the robots to life." The hunched over, purple masked one with the staff prop said, looking to the red one.
"Oh, great, another one." Kara said with a sigh but knew numbers were a good thing in a fight, now standing beside April. "So, uh, can you fight, April?" She asked curiously.
"Why are you still here?!" April looked at her as if she had grown two heads but the only answer Kara could give was looking at her with a light shrug.

"No sweat, we still got this." Red one said to his friends only for Albearto to turn around and hack the whack-a-mole game, the moles popping out of the game itself and surrounding Albearto. "Uhhh Heh, you two didn't have plans, did you?"
"Uh-hah, Oh, I'm staying. I am the Party Captain and I am saving Timmy's party from disaster." April smirked while pulling her fists at her sides, ready for action only to hear little Timmy cry out, surrounded by the moles. "Right after I save Timmy."

"Gotta give it to ya, April, that is mad dedication. Alrighty, I'll help." Kara pressed down on her keychain, activating the staff and spun it in her hands before taking a stance, grinning at April. The ninja turtle mascots and April looked at her in surprise. "What? It's New York. A girl has to protect herself out there."

The purple one blinked at her in surprise, just now noticing her and her too wide stance but went back to the foe in front of them as everyone charged in to the fight.

Kara was helping April whack the moles but while their backs were turned more snuck behind them from inside the game. Just when they were about to jump out and ambush them Timmy grabbed a padded mallet and smacked them away.

"Oh, yeah, nice shot birthday boy." April smiled at him making the boy smile shyly at the praise.

"This kid is going places." Kara thought with a grin til she noticed that the moles were now carrying in a riding rocket ride with the main honcho mole in the seat. It inserted a token and the ride soon started out slow only to speed up, the pointed end aiming at them. "Gotta make sure it's not all over this place!"
April grabbed the kid and both of them jumped out of the way as the rocket flew at them, exploding on impact where they last were. She looked at April and Timmy, giving them an awkward smile. "Guess we dodged the rocket there. Heh."

There was no time to react to her play on words pun for she noticed the purple one was getting bounced on by Cheery. She rushed to her feet, picking up her staff and ran to his aid, stabbing one end in to the floor and vaulting herself towards him, sending a kick in Cheery's body face that sent her flying into the ball pit. "Hey, are you ok?" She turned to the purple one, holding out her hand.
Before he could respond though, Cheery held up a detonator as she slowly sunk into the pit. "This doesn't make Cheery very cheery." She said just before pushing the button.
"Woah!" Kara shouted while grabbing his hand and pulling him out with all her strength. Due to the force of said strength and the added momentum of the explosion both of them were spinning around each other til they stopped in a position that had the purple one dipping Kara, them now staring in to each other's eyes. A second into the staring contest each saw a flash of color pass through their eyes, almost hypnotizing them in place.
Before they could register or question the other about it though,"If I can't have a birthday party, nobody can!" Albearto shouted, having come up to them and snatching Kara from the purple one's arms, dropping her staff in the process. "I didn't do anything wrong, why are you attacking me?" Kara shouted while struggling to get free from his grasp only to freeze when his claws ran down her cheek.
"You're the only one who cared for us, Kara. The only one who looked out for us when we were mistreated; despite your lack of knowledge."
Kara was surprised to know it knew her name only to deadpan at the last remark. Hearing, "Cowabunga!" above her, she looked up to see the orange one flying at them while spinning his yo-yo prop, hitting Albearto in the face causing him to stumble backwards, loosen his grip on her and giving her an opportunity to get free, which she gladly took, but Albearto tried swiping at her only to miss and slash her hair instead, her ponytail dropping to the ground. Albearto grabbed the orange one and threw him at the pile of mutant turtles, slamming into Kara in the process, both of them being added to the pile.

"I'll crack you open like a birthday pinata. Hahaha!" Albearto stomped towards them, grabbing Kara's arm and slowly lifting her out of the pile while boasting at the defeated turtle mutants. "Haha, oh, your sorry skills make me snicker. You're no match for the King of Birthday Parties." He laughed while bringing Kara close. "And soon, I shall make you my queen."
"Oh, just kill me already." Kara groaned, his laughter starting to annoy her, pushing his face away from hers while trying to get free.

The purple one stood off to the side trying to calculate a solution when he noticed the birthday cake off to the side, the answer coming to him. "There's only one way to get through to this guy."

Albearto's face was getting uncomfortably close to Kara's who was struggling to keep the distance, already smelling the fried cheese inside his circuits when the purple one grabbed their attention, "Hey, Albeaaartooo~. You know, you can't be the King of Birthday Parties without having one of your own." Donnie smiled wide while presenting the birthday cake to him.

Albearto stood frozen for a second, letting out an enraged yell only to suddenly register what he said. "Wait, what? A birthday party? For messie wessie?" He dropped Kara, she letting out a pained grunt as she landed face first on the ground, cupping his cheeks in surprise.
"That's right, Albearto, today is the day you were born. Throughatotalaccidentthat'sclearlynoone'sfault." He muttered the last part out the side of his mouth while holding out the cake to him.

Albearto was speechless as he took the cake in his hands. "A-A birthday cakey wakey for messie wessie?"
"Not just a cake, my friend, we've also got a little song for ya." By this time everyone had gotten off the ground, standing around Donnie/the purple one, as he began to sing the birthday song.

"Happy Birthday to you.
Happy Birthday to you."

By the times, everyone had joined in, this bringing a tear to Albearto's eye when April shot out of nowhere, slamming the padded mallet on to Albearto's head, the cake flying out of his hands and in to the purple one's head, who licked his whole face clean, his expression not impressed.

The red one grabbed a chunk of the cake and ate it, Kara catching a handful before it crumpled to the ground and eating it too, watching April go to town on Albearto.

Standing over the broken and defeated animatronic, April stood still for a second to catch her breath before pointing the mallet at them all. "Sing with me guys, I am finishing this party! Happy Birthdaaaaay! Finish the song!"

"Dear..."
"Kid.."
"Uhh.."
"Albearto?"
"Umm.."
Kara just stared down at the mess of circuits and sparks unsure of how to react to what she just witnessed.

"Happy Birthday to you." The turtle mutants finished, staring at their friend.

"Wait, why is the building shaking?" Kara snapped out of her stare when the building suddenly crumbled around them til they were surrounded with nothing but rubble, the ball pit, and the claw machine that held Timmy and a random child inside.

One by one the turtle mutants cleared the scene til it was just Kara and April with the kids.

"Best birthday ever!" Timmy shouted excitedly from within the claw machine.

"MY RESTAURANT!" The manager shouted, having popped from out of nowhere. Kara squinted her eyes at him wondering where he had been this whole time.

"On the upside, I finally made it through the Happy Birthday song." April gave the manager a toothy smile hoping that would lighten her punishment.

"That tears it, O'Neil! YOU'RE-"
"Fired. Yeah, yeah." April tore off her nametag and walked away holding out the peace signs. "You can mail my paycheck. Peace."

As April walked away Kara looked at the mess around her then to her manager. "Yeah, I quit." She took off her nametag, placing it on top of his head and walked over to her belongings, shocked that they weren't damaged and went to walk away only to stop when April called out to her.

"Hey, Kara, you almost forgot something. Luckily, I almost tripped stepping on it." April smiled bright while holding out her staff.
"Oh, thanks, April. They're cheap but take ages to deliver." Taking the staff from her hands she retracted it back into it's inconspicuous form, clipping it back on her belt.
"Now, I'm sure you have some questions about my friends..." April rubbed the back of her head as they walked away from what was left of their old job.
"Hmm..yes." She stopped and pulled out a notebook and pen from her bag, writing down her phone number and address. "Whenever you feel comfortable to tell me just give me a call. Or don't, it's none of my business what you and your costumed friends do during your spare time." She gave April a smile and wink when she looked at her confused only to quickly realize what she meant and smiled back. "Well, til next time, April." She gave her a two fingered salute goodbye and headed the opposite direction from April, deciding to go to the convenient store first to grab some late night dinner, a.k.a junkfood.

Unbeknownst to her though, April's friends were standing on a rooftop, looking down at both of them to make sure they were safe.

"I think we just made a new friend." Mikey bit his lip trying to contain his smile but the glee in his eyes already gave it away.
"Do you really think we can trust her though?" Leo asked.
"She did seem cool with us earlier so I don't see why not." Raph answered.
"Well, yeah, only because of my amazing improv skills." Leo smirked at his brother, crossing his arms while leaning his weight to the side.

Donnie was silent throughout the conversation, watching Kara continue her night as if she wasn't almost forced on by a robot. His goggles lowered over his eyes to zoom in on her when he noticed her taking off her hat. Her hair fluttered out of it's confines like angel wings, her hair now wavy and neck length, watching her feel the empty space where her long hair use to be before fluffing it out to get rid of any loose strands that were left behind and putting the cap back on. Lifting the goggles back up a blush was visible over his mask that didn't go unnoticed by his brothers.

Raph, Leo, and Mikey were looking from Donnie to Kara continuously til it looked as though their heads were going to snap off from how fast they were turning, Leo being the first to free himself and slid towards Donnie, a sly smirk plastered on his face while placing his arm on Donnie's shoulder, leaning against him. "Well, well, does my little brother have a crush on the new girl?"
Donnie glared at Leo, shoving him away. "No, I was just making sure she was-"
"Why did you use your goggles then? We can see her perfectly from up here." Mikey followed Leo's example, leaning against him, before moving towards the edge of the roof, leaning over it while placing his hand above his eyes to get a better look out, watching as she rounded a corner.
"As I said, I was just making sure she-" Donnie was starting to get irritated at his brother's interrogation, the blush now getting warmer.
"Do we need to have "the talk"?" Raph slammed his massive hand over Donnie's tech shell which, due to his unkept strength, had him on the floor in seconds.
Donnie answered, his words muffled by floor before using his propellers to lift himself off the ground and fly away home, his brother's laughing at his retreat.

Munching on a microwave burrito, idly listening to the sounds of the city due to her phone battery being low, she walked past an alley hearing a groan and stopped mid step. Planting her foot back on the ground she turned towards the alley and closed her eyes to listen closely. Hearing it again but this time she could hear the pain in the sound. Taking a deep breath and placing her hand on her keychain she stepped into the alley.

The lights were dim and flickering, courtesy of the mayor of the city, she reached into her bag to pull out her phone to see better when her foot came in contact with something solid. Looking down she saw a massive body hunched against the wall. Just when she was about to turn on her flashlight the lamp post above her flickered to life revealing the body of a man with goat feet, long red hair, and wearing a helmet with intimidating tusks. Before she could air out her surprise two small shadows zoomed out from the body surrounding her.

"Stay away from our Master or we'll hurt you good!" One said trying to sound tough.
"Yeah, we can be annoying very fast." The other said as if that would deter her from doing anything.

She raised a brow at the two shadows only to blink when she noticed the body was bleeding and bruised. "Hey, I'm not trying to hurt anyone." She let go of her keychain, holding up her hands to show she meant no harm. "But your friend looks injured and if he's not taken care of he could get much worse." She searched the area but knew there wasn't much for shelter in an alleyway only to blink at the luck when she found a cracked door. "Do you think you could help me carry this guy into that building?" She pointed to the door but the two shadows shrugged and shook their head.
"We're not really built for that."
"But we can hold your burrito for you."

Kara slumped her shoulders and sighed before taking one last large bite and handing it to them. She grabbed the goat legged human guy and placed it's arm over her shoulder hoping to lift it up like that only for him to fall on top of her. "This has happened too many times in one night." She muttered with a face full of ground before pulling herself out from under him. After many attempts of trying to pick him up from putting him over her shoulder like a sack, to over the shoulders like a soldier, to even trying to give him a piggyback ride. All attempts failed til she reached a final conclusion, which would just worsen the situation, but she had no choice; dragging him by his arms to the door.

Finally bringing the body inside she set it down in a corner. Scoping the area out to make sure it was safe she searched for a light switch. "This may not work but help a lady out, please." Feeling the switch she flicked it up only to squee happily when the room came to life with light. She turned around now getting an even better look at the man. Whatever he was, he was definitely not human and the two shadows looked like bats but not. That thought made her tilt her head while trying to think of a way to describe them. "Now's not the time for that. Ok, whatever you two are, I'm going to get some medical supplies for your...master. Keep an eye on him and make sure no one comes in but me, ok?"
"You got it, boss." One gave her a thumbs up while the other ate what was left of her dinner.
Her shoulders sagged with a sigh but she walked out the room with a mission in mind. "Let's hope this doesn't come to bite me in the future."

With the help of the internet and some Viewtube channels she was able to disinfect and bandage up the bleeding wounds and bruised muscles.

Having bought a pillow and blanket for the guy she sat back to watch him rest and converse with the talking bats, who she found quite entertaining.

"Why are you helping us?" The one having been introduced as Huginn asked through a mouthful of her food.
"Humans are suppose to be bad and ugly." Muninn commented right after.

"Well, I hope you're saying I'm the opposite of that...but your master here looked like he needed help and if you see someone in need, well, why wouldn't you want to help? There's a reason if you noticed it, right?" She gave them a warm smile only to lift her head when she saw movement in her peripheral vision that was coming from their unconscious friend so she pulled out her keychain and held it up to where the thing before her would be in for a black eye if they decided to attack.

Baron Draxum awoke from his defeat by the hands of those inexperienced turtles only to notice he wasn't in the ruins of his lab but somewhere far more filthy and smelly.

"Master, you're awake!" Muninn exclaimed happily before clinging to his neck.
"We were really worried for you." Huginn flew next to him before landing on his shoulder.

Baron Draxum slowly sat up, grunting in pain at the soreness of his muscles but blinked when a clean blanket fell off his chest. "What the?"

"Morning, sleepyhead."

Baron Draxum's head snapped up when he saw a human sitting not too far from him, holding their arm up with something small in their hands. He narrowed his eyes at the girl, his body tensing up.

"Hey, calm down, I'm not gonna hurt you.." She stopped her words for a second rolling her eyes in thought before looking back at him, "But that doesn't mean I won't if you try something."

"Hn, and what makes you think you can hurt Baron Draxum?"

"Well, that was easy.." She shook her head before looking at him with serious eyes, "Because one: you can't move without looking like you're in pain, which leaves me with an advantage, and two: " She pressed the button, her staff expanding mere inches from his face. "I can take care of myself. Just because I can though doesn't mean I will..wait, that came out wrong."

"Where am I, exactly?"

"From the looks of it, an abandoned laundry mat. It was the closest thing available and you're very heavy to drag around."

"Most have the decency to use their home."

"And give you access to where I live? For all I know you could be a mass murder that eats people's faces. I am compassionate, not insane."

Baron Draxum stared at her for a moment before letting out a disappointed noise, his shoulder's relaxing some.

"That's it." Kara sighed with a smile before putting away her weapon but kept it in reach just in case. "Since you told me your name, guess it's proper manners to tell you mine; The name's Kara Sharper. Now, since you're awake I can leave you be for I am very tired. You look like a sturdy..person? So you can take care of yourself from here on out." She set down a bag of food she was protecting from the mini black holes next to him and gave him a cheesy grin. "Get better, Baron Draxum." She grabbed her things and walked away not noticing Draxum was watching her like a hawk.
Once she was out of sight he squinted his eyes while staring down at everything she had brought and done for him.

"So, what's the plan, Master?" Huginn asked, going back to his respective spot on his shoulder.

"Once I heal and repairs to my lab are completed we ought to invite Kara Sharper for a visit and reward her for her troubles." Draxum clenched his fist, a grin slowly spreading across his lips.

The minute the door opened to her home, the calm and collected Kara began to be replaced with exhaustion and stress. With each step flashes of fighting Albearto crossed her memory forcing her to squeeze her eyes shut to try and calm down. Dropping her belongings on her couch she went straight to her room, shedding her work clothes in the process and leaving a trail behind her while passing through her doorless doorframe into her room where she put on a snug tank top and shorts before dropping on to her bed, staring into the darkness of her home. She buried her head in her pillow before sitting up and turning on a snowglobe in the shape of a lantern that lit up and watched the floating glitter til she was able to sleep.
