?, Somewhere on Earth

The day started like any other, but it should remain that way. A friend of mine has recently started to get into the MMORPG "Star Wars: The Old Republic" which I used to play... but I hadn't started it in years. I didn't have any plans to start it again, but after my friend bugged me for days I finally agree to play with him. So, that fateful afternoon I started the game on my PC not suspecting that this would be an action that would change my life forever.

I just started up the game where I would soon be met by the face of the character which I had used to clear the last expansion I played, "Knights of the Eternal Throne". Seeing that character of which I had some fond memories I couldn't stop myself from smiling. However, I didn't wallow in memories long before I switched servers to go onto the new one where I would create a new character. This new server was called Clone Wars which was a bit surprising since it had nothing to do with the Old Republic. Thinking nothing of it I choose the Server and then started with the character creation... which was a lot different from what I did remember.

The first choice that had to be made was to decide to fight for the Republic which included Smugglers and Empire where the Bounty Hunter belonged to. Having priorly talked with my friend the two of us had decided to play as Imperials which had overall the better stories. The Imperial side had the following Classes.

[Sith Warrior: A Sith Warrior's skills with a lightsaber are unrivaled. Driving at their enemies with strong, crushing blows, the Warrior quickly beats his foes into submission or death. Protected by heavy armor and his powers of intimidation, the Warrior wades into the thick of the fight and unleashes pure hatred and fury to eliminate all who would stand against him.]

[Sith Inquisitor: Expertise in conducting Force energies further allows Sith Inquisitors to draw upon the life essence of themselves and others. This energy can be channeled to bolster their powers, harm their foes, and even reinvigorate their allies. An Inquisitor's skills with a Lightsaber are equally impressive. Often wielding a double-bladed Lightsaber, Inquisitors use quick, guileful, and lethal maneuvers to strike their enemies down with astonishing speed.]

[Imperial Agent: Relying on range, surprise, and an arsenal of state-of-the-art gadgets and weaponry, the Imperial Agent enters battle with a confident strategy. Though striking from a distance or the shadows plays to the Agent's strengths, a well-equipped operative is more than capable of evading his enemies when necessary or moving in close to quietly slide a blade between an opponent's ribs.]

[Bounty Hunter: Whether working for credits or principle, the Bounty Hunter pursues his targets with dogged determination and methodical precision. Bounty Hunters are renowned for their versatility on the battlefield and their ability to go toe-to-toe with force-users. Whoever they must face, the Bounty Hunter comes armed with the most advanced weaponry on the black market, packing heavy firepower but always keeping a variety of tricks and gadgets ready to go.]

I planned to create a Sith Warrior with my friend wanting to create a Bounty Hunter. We planned to meet up after clearing the starting planet and then play the game together... this didn't exactly go as planned. After having selected the Empire I had to continue with the appearance of my character.

"Huh... thought that would be the last," I said thinking that it was different a few years back, but I couldn't be sure since it was so long ago. "Oh well, then let's start with this."

I went ahead and started to customize my character. Since I still had a couple of hours until I wanted to meet up with my friend on the Imperial Fleet I could take my time deciding on an appearance. I had not that great of a selection for my race since I played without paying money. This left me to decided between the Human, Cyborg, and Zabrak race. I really did dislike the Cyborg one, so this only left me with being Human or a Zabrak. During my last playthrough, I used a Zabarak Jedi Knight and because of that, I decided to go with a Human. When I finally got the chance to customize the appearance I at first thought about making him look funny, but after some time I decided against it.

'I will probably have to look at that character for hours and hours... I shouldn't make him look funny only to get annoyed by it later,' I thought to myself as I started to change the appearance until I was satisfied.

After spending a couple more minutes on the subject I had finished the appearance. My character was a human of average height, short black hair, and green eyes. Having finished the appearance I just have to decide on a name for my character. What surprised me was that I had to choose a first and last name which was something I also did remember differently. After having thought about it for a while chose the name, Jacen Schwarz which was actually not taken yet... neat.

Following this came the interesting part, the decision for the Class. As an Imperial, I could choose between Sith Warrior, Sith Inquisitor, Bounty Hunter, and Agent. Having already decided on being a Sith Warrior before I started the game it was an easy decision. As soon as I confirmed my class the game started... or so I thought. After I confirmed it a new screen appeared and with this one I was sure that it wasn't in the game when I last played it. That screen was a Status screen.

[Name: Jacen Schwarz]

[Title: None]

[Race: Human]

[Gender: Male]

[Status]

[HP: The Health Points the character possesses. If the HP of a character hits 0 the character will perish. In this Game there are no second chances.]

[FP: The Force Points a character possesses. These points are used by a character to use Force Abilities if one hasn't enough for a certain Ability then they can't use the ability. The FP is set by the midi-chlorian a being possesses and can be increased through natural means.]

[STR: Strength measures physical power. A high Strength adds modifiers to melee damage and chance to hit, which is important for characters that use close-combat weapons.]

[DEX: Dexterity measures agility and reflexes. A high Dexterity adds modifiers to ranged attack and increases a character's Defense, making them harder to hit.]

[CON: Constitution represents health and resiliency. A high Constitution adds modifiers to the HP gained at each level-up. Constitution also determines what types of implants the character can equip.]

[INT: Intelligence represents knowledge and reasoning. A high Intelligence adds modifiers to the number of points a character gets to spend on Skills and Feats.]

[WIS: Wisdom represents willpower and perception. A high Wisdom adds modifiers to Force Abilities. The Force Abilities of a Force User with high Wisdom is also much harder to resist.]

[Cha: A high Charisma increasing the potency of a character's Force Powers. It also reduces the penalty when using Force Powers of an opposing alignment (a light side character with a high Charisma can use dark side powers with less of a penalty), and a high Charisma also gives your companions boosts.]

[Skills]

[Skills are abilities that can be improved through Skill Points which can be gained through Level Ups, Special Items, or Quests. The category of Skills counts Combat, Crafting, and more. Some of the Skills can even directly influence Stats and Skills. Even the types of armors you can efficiently wear are determined by them. Most of the Skills can be categorized into 5 Ranks. These Ranks are like the following: Novice, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert.]

[Force Powers]

[Abilities that the character can pull of by using FP. New Force Powers can be gained or improved in similar ways to Feats. The Force Powers are split into three different categories: Light Side, Dark Side, and Universal. Depending on the alignment a character can gain a boost or decrease in the abilities. However, Universal Force Powers work the same for every alignment. Just like with Skills the Force Powers are Ranked.]

"That is defiantly new!" I said reading through all of this with wide-opened eyes. "I'm mean this is nothing like the SWTOR I remember... but maybe this isn't so bad. I should give it a chance and see if the game is more fun than it used to be... maybe I'll make another character to play privately later. Alright, then let's see what I can do with this."

The first thing I did was use the 80 Points provided to me for the start. As a Sith Warrior on if not the most important Stat was STR since that one would determine my damage with the Lightsaber, but I can't forget about DEX. Sure, DEX is more useful to a ranged fighter, but it plays a major role in my defense I have to put enough points in that as well. As for CON, I'm not sure how much I should put into it. With my friend being a Bounty Hunter there is a high chance he could go for a Tank build and we don't want two... thinking about it, we should have probably spoken about it earlier. As for INT, I guess I should put some into them as well considering that it affects Skills and Feats. As for WIS... that one isn't so important considering that my character is a Warrior. However, one should never underestimate the powers of the Force. As for CHA... it can be useful in various situations, but it's not a necessity. After careful consideration, I decided on the following build.

[Status]

[Level 1]

[HP: 1.400/1.400]

[FP: 4.200/4.200]

[STR: 16]

[DEX: 14]

[CON: 14]

[INT: 13]

[WIS: 12]

[CHA: 11]

I decided to make it pretty balanced since I am not too familiar with the new system. If I would specialize in any particular stat and later figure out that I made a mistake, then I would be too late. It's better to be safe than sorry. Following this, I had to spend the points on my Skills. As a Sith Warrior, I had some preset Feats which I couldn't change, but I got a total of 8 Points and an additional for my INT to unlock Feats. The Feats my character was capable of after spending my points and through pre-sets were as following.

[Skills]

Lightsaber Combat Skills:

-Form I: Shii-Cho (Novice) [The simplicity and persistent methods of the form led it to be dubbed the "Way of the Sarlacc" and the "Determination Form". In combat, Form I encouraged deliberate tactics, calling for continuous, step-by-step advancement while cutting off the opponent's angles. Shii-Cho was specialized in engaging multiple opponents.]

-Form V: Shien (Beginner) [Known as the "Perseverance Form", Shien was designed to protect against enemy blaster fire and strikes without compromising one's ability to launch powerful counterattacks. With its focus against blaster fire, Shien kept in mind that Jedi were often outnumbered by their opponents and needed to defend themselves while retaining offensive capability. However, it lacked effectiveness against single opponents.]

-Form V: Djem So (Beginner) [Djem So focused on lightsaber dueling. Utilizing a combination of blocks and parries, a Djem So user maintained a proper foundation in terms of defense against both ranged and melee attacks, but rather than counter only when necessary as per Soresu training regimens, Djem So actively pressed the offense. Djem So placed a heavy focus on brute strength, utilizing wide, powerful strikes and parries.]

-Form VI: Niman (Beginner) [Form VI attempts to balance all elements of lightsaber combat, combining the techniques from Forms that came before into a less intensely demanding combat style. In the blending, much of the individuality was lost, but the strengths were spread evenly, and there was little weakness in it. Due to its "jack-of-all-trades" nature, the success of this form was largely dependent on the practitioner's intuition, improvisation, and creativity in combat rather than the rote responses derived from other forms.]

STR Skills:

-Armor (Heavy)

-Toughness (Beginner)

DEX Skills:

-Piloting (Novice)

-Hand to Hand (Beginner)

CON Skills:

-Pain Resistance (Novice)

INT Skills:

-Computing [Slicing] (Novice)

WIS Skills:

-First Aid (Novice)

-Danger Sensing (Beginner)

CHA Skills:

-Preception (Novice)

-Deception (Novice)

The 9 Points I did spend in addition to the pre-set were used to gain some Skills I thought would be good to have. The first two points went into Shien to gain a good defense against blaster fire. Originally, I wanted to put more points into Djem So, but I couldn't since Beginner is the highest Rank you can have at the start. I need to be at least Level 5 before I could get a higher rank. The seven remaining were spend on Perception, Deception, Danger Sensing, Hand to Hand, and Piloting. Preception and Deception would probably do me good in a lot of situations. The same goes for Danger Sensing which could be essential. As for Hand to Hand, there could always be the chance that for some reason my character has to fight without his Lightsaber... better to be prepared. Piloting... something that is needed if you want to get around in Star Wars without relying on others. Since I don't know how the companions will work in this game with all of these changes I decided it would be best to be able to fly the ship myself if required. With this finished all that was left to do was decided which Force Powers I wanted to start with. There I had a total of 5 points plus another additional one due to having more than 10 WIS. Inquisitors would get a total of 8 points for Force Powers. Now with these 6 points, I was able to learn Force Powers from a long list of abilities. There were some really cool among them, but some were grayed out due to me not having a high enough level that included a Force Power I found most interesting. There were a few cool among them life Force Drain or Life Drain, but they were not that suited for my character. Instead of these, I decided to go with the basic ones which are not flashy, but practical. However, I did spend on point on one of my favorite Force Abilities.

[Force Powers]

Universal:

-Force Pull (Novice) [A telekinetic ability using the Force that could cause a material body to draw close to the user. The greater the user's aptitude with this, the heavier the object that could be pulled.]

-Force Push (Beginner) [Force Push utilized telekinetically-derived force to push objects away from the user. It could be used to varying degrees, from simply nudging or softly moving targets away from the user, to knocking them back or to the ground, to sending them flying through the air.]

-Force Jump (Novice) [Force Jump used the Force to augment the user's natural leaping ability. Force-users adept in this technique could perform awe-inspiring vertical/horizontal leaps with impunity.]

-Force Speed (Novice) [Force speed allows the user to maintain sprinting speeds for a brief time. Greater aptitude granted greater boosts to speed and/or greater duration. The increased speed of the Force-user enabled the individual to perceive and react to the world and the entities around them in slow motion, allowing them to dodge attacks easily and attack more quickly with greater accuracy.]

Dark Side:

-Force Lightning (Novice) [Force lightning was a purely offensive, energy-based attack that channeled Force energy down the user's limbs, hurling arcing bolts of electricity from the wielder's fingertips or palms. The intensity varied based on several factors.]

With this, I had finished my character creation and got the chance to look over all of it once more. During that I considered changing a couple of things like switching from Form V: Shien to Form III: Soresu or if I should forgo Force Lightning to strengthen my Force Pull. Another thought I had was to drop Piloting in favor of a Skill I could use in battle. In the end, I decided that I would leave it as it is and maybe make one or two other characters later that day to see what else could have worked. Thinking that I was ready, I clicked on the "Play" button. Now all that was left was to wait for the game to load.

It did take quite a while for the game to load around and I even thought about restarting it... which might have changed my destiny. However, I didn't and so after almost 5 minutes all I had to do was press a key on my keyboard. I reached down to it and pressed the enter button... which would be followed by a blinding light emerging from my screen.

"What the fuck!" I shouted as I had to shield my eyes from the light. This light just wouldn't stop and for some reason, I had trouble staying awake. After some more seconds, I was out cold.

Jacen Schwarz, ?

"Hey! Wake up already!"

I heard someone say to me as I slowly opened my eyes. I felt a bit dizzy and needed a few seconds before I remembered what happened. However, when I opened my eyes I was pretty surprised to see an unfamiliar man and even more when I noticed I was in some kind of metallic room.

"Uh!?" I let out a bit of surprise.

The man who did wake me up wasn't exactly human. He was an alien... who looked like a Zabrak from the Star Wars Universe. Seeing him I was about to freak out, but then something just unsettling happened which claimed me down.

[Gamer Mind activated! Emotion set to "Calm"!]

Immediately after the message appeared in front of me I was completely calm as if this wasn't a strange situation. I took another look at the man and now I was sure that this guy looked like a Zabrak... he actually looked pretty much like Darth Maul from Episode I.

"Sorry, if I disturbed your sleep, but we will arrive at the Academy soon. I thought it would be better for you to be awake when the time comes," the Zabarak said with a smile. "We don't want to anger the Overseers."

"What Academy?" I asked trying to figure out more... with the message of calming me down once more.

"Are you still half asleep or do you really have no clue where we would be going?" he asked a bit surprised. "Anyway, I don't mind telling you what I know... since we are both former slaves."

'Slaves?' I thought now completely lost.

"We are currently heading to Yavin 4 where one of the hidden Sith Academies is located," the Zabrak stated.

'Yavin 4?'

"There we get the chance to become Siths... that is if we can survive the training," he said sounding a bit scared. "But hey, it's better than continuing being a slave... right?"

Unsure what to say I remained quiet and just stared back at him. He cleared his throat before he continued.

"Anyway, we have to get the chance to rise from the lowest of the low to one of the highest positions... that surely is worth the risk," the Zabarak stated his opinion once more. "All that's left is to survive the Academy."

"Yeah," I said agreeing with him before I turned away and left the nervous Zabrak to himself... I had other things to think about.

'What the fuck is going on!?' I screamed in my head before being calmed down by Gamer Mind. 'This has to be a dream... think what did you do before this happened. I was just creating a new character for Star Wars: The Old Republic... wait for a second!'

With that thought, I started to look down on myself and noticed that I was wearing the same black clothes that my character had during the character creation. After further checking and getting shown a mirror image of myself I noticed that I truly looked exactly like the character I created.

'This can't be real... this must be some kind of dream. Or maybe I really did become the character I created and part of the Star Wars Universe?' I thought having trouble with this entire situation. 'Either way, I should take everything that is going to happen from here on seriously.'

I looked over to the Zabrak once more as another "Gamer" Ability triggered showing me something rather interesting.

[Observation activated!]

'Huh?'

[Quest Log]

[Glossory]

'This... it seems I truly became a Gamer,' I thought to myself as I tried to process all of this. 'I should really look into this... it might be next. As for my first goal... I should figure out exactly what time I got sent into. Most likely I will be in the time of the "Onslaught against the Republic" or "Cold War", but I can't be too sure. I mean if it would be the case then I should start on Korriban, not Yavin 4. Then again, this probably won't be like the game.'

As I was still busy thinking about all this the ship landed on the dangerous jungle-covered fourth moon. When I looked up and checked out the rest of the room I noticed that there were more people which I had ignored until now. I saw two other humans, a Twi'lek, a Nautolan, and Natu. All of them had stood up as soon as the ship landed and waited for the door to open. When it did, I saw a human wearing the same armor as Harkun, an Overseer from the game, with two soldiers wearing common grey armor. All of us began to exit the spacecraft with me being the last.

"So, you're the trash that they have sent me today?" he asked in an arrogant manner. "You are the slime, the filth, the wretches of society. You are what Sith Lords scrape off their boots. I don't know why the Sith Empire even bothers with you. Miserable curs. They'd be wiser to give you shovels and have you dig your own graves."

As he started to insult us and demoralized half the group I noticed that a second spacecraft landed on a platform not too far from us. While ignoring the insults of the Overseer I watched as six people exited that spacecraft... they were either Human or Sith Pureblood. They also seemed to be better equipped than we and some even wore fancy-looking robes. However, before I could try to make out anything specific about them the Overseer said something that caught my attention.

"My Lord has tasked me with sorting through you refuse to find one worthy of becoming his apprentice, and I intend to just do that," the Overseer stated as the others seemed to get more and more demoralized.

"I think we get it already," I said surprising the other newcomers as well as the overseer after I did read through the quest quickly. "How about you just tell us what to do and we get to it?"

"You should watch your mouth, slave," he spat out the last word as if it were poison. "But you are right, we should start with your first trial. The Academy lies on the other a few kilometers into the jungle... if you arrive there you will pass your trial."

"T-that doesn't sound too bad," another human said regretting saying it after the next sentence of the overseer.

"However, I doubt that any of you will survive the beasts you will encounter on your way," the overseer stated with an evil grin.

New Quest!

"Now then, go into the jungle already!" the overseer ordered hoping we would all die.

That's it for the first chapter of my Imperial Gamer Story. Any thoughts on the chapter? If you have I would be more than happy to hear about them via Review or just PM me.

Now why I choose Yavin 4 as the starting planet. There are a couple of reasons. First, the jungle moon is just perfect for a Sith Academy. It has strong beasts and ancient structures... a perfect fit for a Sith Academy. Second, there is a logical way why the Republic or the CIS don't know about its existence. However, I will mention that reason in one of the later chapters.

Now to another question you probably have... since it is an Empire there should be an Emperor, right? You're probably wondering who is going to be the Emperor in this story... but you won't get an answer anytime soon. You just have to wait until I reveal it.

Now I want to speak about Stats. You guys must have already noticed that Jacen, the Main Character, has way higher stats than Natu. The reason behind that is that there are Ranks for each character. These Ranks are Weak, Standart, Strong, Elite, and Champion. Jacen is in the category of Champion while Nuta is considered Standart which is a big difference.

With this, I have said most of what I wanted to say. I hope you all enjoyed it and look forward to the next chapter.
