Edelgard thought her life would end when Aredhbar stabbed her heart in one attack, and in one way, it did.
Her life in Fodlan ended, but she was given a new chance in a world called... Remnant.
Edelgard woke up in a field, her armor now fused on the right side with parts of her Hegemon Husk form.
"Is this Paradise?" - she asked herself. Of course it couldn't be, she wouldn't end up in it, unless it was some kind of twisted joke by the Goddess.
At the distance, a giant structure was seen, it looked like the Monastery of Garreg Mach. Did she... Went back in time in some way? No, that couldn't be right.
She got up from the ground, looking at her right hand, now black and with a sensation akin to that one of a Demonic Beast and noticed that not only her armor, but all the way down to her feets, her right side had been somewhat taken over by the Hegemon's power.
"Hey you, this is not a place to... Who the hell are you!?" - a man asked, dressed in clothes Edelgard had never seen before and using a strange device to point at her.
"What is...?" -
She didn't got time to say anything as the device shot something at her, but she barely even fell the impact of whataver it was.
After that, a roar was heard from the forest and a beast came running straight from it, bloodlusted and ready to kill both of them. Edelgard however had alredy experienced what death felt like, and she wasn't going to do so a second time.
Getting up from the ground, she grabbed the beast by the head and with no effort crushed it with her corrupted hand, making it dissapear in the air.
"That will do it" - she said before turning to the man and reaching out her hand as he fell to the ground in fear - "Are you ok?" -
He was scared, but even then he knew she ment no harm, or at least he hoped. He grabbed her hand and got up from the ground before people arrived, except that this time they sued weapons Edelgard alredy knew.
A scythe, a sword, a pair of gauntlets and a short sword.
"Hey mister police man, are you ok?" - the girl with the scythe asked the man.
"Yes, she saved me but... I don't knw, she's weird, just look at her" -
Edelgard knew what they were talking about, and it didn't helped that her voice was slightly distorted due to the Husk's power.
"She kind of looks like a Grimm but she doesn't seem to be a threat" - the girl with the gauntlets said as she approached Edelgard.
"How curious, you come at me even when I look like this" - Edel said as she touched the girl's blonde hair with her normal hand.
"Well, you may look weird but you don't seem evil" -
"Yang, look out, she might hurt you" - the girl with white hair using the sword said.
"I have no intention of hurting any of you" - Edelgard said - "My name is Edelgard von Hresvelg" -
"A funny name" - the girl with the scythe said - "I'm Ruby Rose and this girls are my friends and team, Team RWBY" -
"Hi, I'm Yang Xiao Long" - the blonde girl said.
"Weiss Schnee" - the girl with white hair followed.
"Hello, I'm Blake Belladona" - and the girl with the small sword and black hair ended.
"We're all students at Beacon Academy, that big building over there" - Ruby said pointing at the structure Edelgard saw when waking up - "Do you want to visit it?" -
"Wait Ruby, we're not going to get a stranger inside the Academy" - Weiss said to her teammate.
"Oh come on, nothing bad will happen" -
"You can't now that" - Blake joined Weiss.
The 4 started arguing while Edelgard just wondered why did she ended up in such a world. In the end, she couldn't find an answer, she would just have to learn as she advanced.
