It has been a month since Thomas Magnum made up his mind to declare himself to his partner, or was it the other way around? As usual, Magnum thought that things would change between them, but after all, he had stated it in unsuspecting times that they had their own dynamic. In fact, Juliet Higgins had immediately clarified that being business partners there would be no public effusions. He was hugging her when she turned around and said to him: "We are partners and in public all this fuss will have to be avoided, we must be professional, otherwise no one will hire us anymore!"
"Come on, we'll be like the investigators of Hart to Hart "and for once she had caught the allusion ...
"I don't even think about it! Play nice Thomas or you'll have to choose between partner or girlfriend." He sighed and resigned himself, but he liked it when she called him by name and then every now and then he could have touched her randomly...
One day he invited her to dinner in the guest house ... "Well, tonight come to dinner with me?"
"Technically it's my house, and you won't cook your usual steak, right? "The damn woman could make him go out of his mind, but he suspected she was doing it on purpose, because she found it fun to tease him even now that they are a couple.
"Ah! And if you plan to bring the wine, you know that the cellar is still off limits for you ..."
"I thought what is yours now was also a little bit mine."
"We're not married, Magnum!"
He was about to try to kiss her to silence her a bit ... an advantage that he didn't have before, but she had crossed her arms and glared at him ... "if you think about closing it like this, silencing me with a kiss you're out of your mind?."
"Come on, it's only a dinner... for me and you."
"Could I do otherwise?" She finally smiled and kissed him ... but when he started enjoying the moment she walked away saying that she was busy with the estate and that she was going to see him by seven, leaving him, frankly, a bit frustrated.
He had set the whole thing up. He had bought her favorite fish and a chef, a friend of his, showed him how to prepare it. He carefully set the table and got dressed. At seven he showed up at the door of the main house and knocked.
Kumu, passing by, said to him " Thomas, you look great! Are you going out?"
"Sort of.." At that point Higgins walked out, beautiful, in a summer dress. He had to refrain from complimenting her. They hadn't told anyone yet that they were a couple, but Kumu's gaze and even the guys when they went to La Mariana were mischievous. They didn't know for sure, but they certainly suspected, because even if they were still bickering all the time, the looks that they exchanged had changed ... perhaps more Higgins's than Magnum's to tell the truth ...
Magnum cleared his throat "So Ju ... Higgy are you ready?"
Higgins blushed slightly. "Yes, I'm ready. Our client told us that his wife would be at the restaurant for dinner at eight." said improvised.
Kumu smiled and said "Aloha! Enjoy your evening!"
"Mahalo, Kumu."
"You think he suspects something?" Higgins asked.
"I would say yes. But until you feel confident we won't say anything."
They had taken the Ferrari and entered through the secondary entrance.
"I can finally tell you, you are beautiful" and he had looked her straight in the eye.
She was blushing again. "You're flattering me just because you saw that I brought the wine"
"Did you bring the wine? Then it counts for something to be the boyfriend of the woman who owns the estate."
"I won't let you take advantage of it though."
She finally relaxed and he was able to hold her and kiss her.
Even though their dynamic hadn't changed, and he never wanted that to happen, because he was having a lot of fun, he finally didn't have to deny that he loved his partner, his best friend.
