Wow, I didn't expect to write this, but it was pretty fun. I'm always interested in the bible and stuff like that
Lucifer slammed his phone down on his desk and scowled. The palace on the outside began to shake and then there was a rapping on the door that drew Lucifer out of his musing. He quickly straightened his hat and said "Come in".
In walked a demon that looked almost completely human. The only difference between him and a regular human was the large white and blue scaled wings. They were folded up and he just sighed. He eventually said, "Boss you did it again. You crushed a section of Pentagram city. We just got done with the Cleanse not too long ago. Please don't kill more devils than we need to".
Satan scowled and said, "Bah Hell is crowded anyways. We need to get rid of as many sinners as possible Seraphim". Lucifer grinned as he saw Seraphim squirm a little from the name.
Seraphim groaned and said, "You know I hate that name. Dad was a dick for naming me that". Lucifer chuckled when he heard that. Seraphim's father had been one of the first to come to Hell and it was with a sense of irony he named his child Seraphim. Seraphim was the only one in Hell to have white wings even if they were scaled rather than feathered.
Seraphim grumbled and eventually said, "Isn't Charlie going to be upset that you killed more of these sinners"? Lucifer slumped and huffed at his problematic daughter. Saving people is what she wanted. What an idiotic goal for the princess of Hell.
Lucifer eventually asked, "And how is she? Charlie I mean".
Seraphim leaned against the wall and stared out the window at the Metropolis. He eventually tapped lightly on his pants. He said, "She has been trying, but not much else. She has gotten one new client. An annoying stripper that is just using her. I can take care of him if you want".
Lucifer just shook his head and said "No. She needs to learn who these people are at heart". Seraphim nodded and flexed his light blue and white wings. A bodyguard wasn't the worst job in the world, but it wasn't very eventful. Lucifer seemed to eye Seraphim and eventually nodded his head up and down.
Lucifer eventually leaned forward and said "Now I have to say you certainly are one of my best Generals. How could I ever repay you Seraphim"?
Seraphim just rolled his eyes and asked "What do you want Lucifer? I already have one job and you lied about it being exciting. That doesn't even count the extra small jobs you have been sending me out on". Lucifer grinned and held up two fingers that were crossed.
Seraphim grunted and pushed off the wall with his wings. He pinched his nose and asked, "What's the job"?
Lucifer grinned and asked, "Are you bored Seraphim"? Seraphim bared his teeth and his sharper canines stuck out of his top lip and his snake-like tongue flicked out showing he didn't appreciate the comment.
He responded "Charlie and Vaggie are too busy sucking face and running the Hotel to do anything interesting. I've only had to deal with a total of three assassinations in the last three months. Sure your other jobs are interesting enough, but I am working myself to the bone". Lucifer's grin grew and grew. Seraphim wasn't one of his top generals without reason. He had and still does go out on assignments to kill parasites that could be enemies of the Lucifer family. It seemed his general hadn't mellowed out much and Charlie's hope of making him less violent had fallen through.
Seraphim and Charlie had been close ever since childhood. The Lucifers and Seraphim's family were close. It was why Lucifer was elated when Seraphim's father had decided to give his most treasured son to him. Now it wasn't necessarily a fair deal, but that's what you get for betting against the first sinner. Lucifer broke from his thought and said "A vacation then. How would you like to visit Imp City".
Seraphim rose an eyebrow and asked "Imp City in the Pride Ring? What business do you have there Lucifer"? Lucifer sighed and said, " A Prince of the Ars Goetia has decided to lend his Grimoire out to some imps and they have been prancing around the human world".
Seraphim sighed and rubbed the back of his head. He cut to the point "And you want me to deal with them"?
Lucifer shook his head and said "No. I don't care what Goetia does. Let them think that I have grown to be a fool. What I want is for you to make sure the imps don't do something stupid and expose the rest of the devils and demons to the overworld".
Seraphim turned and opened his boss's door to leave as he waved his hand in acknowledgment. He said out loud "Yeah. I can handle babysitting a few murder happy imps and besides how much trouble could Charlie and Vaggie get into when I am gone"? Lucifer just grinned as he started to move the chess pieces on his desk.
Just before Seraphim left Lucifer said, "Oh, and make sure to meet with Goetia. I think a demonstration of power is much needed".
Seraphim waved him off and said, "Of course boss. If you wouldn't mind having one of your subordinates call a meeting of the pillars I'll make an appearance. You know how annoying they can be gathering them all up". Lucifer nodded and grabbed a phone from his desk. A devilish smile made its way onto his face as he thought about the entertainment and chaos this was going to bring to Ars Goetia. People didn't simply ignore one of the Princes of Hell. Certainly not Seraphim Leviathan the son of the current Leviathan. It was a death wish.
Lucifer piped up one more time from his phone call to Seraphim "There have been sightings of Angels on the outskirts of the city. If you would be so kind to deal with that as well Seraphim". He only received a half nod, but it was enough. Such a quality General to his army. They didn't come like Seraphim anymore
Seraphim soared through the sky and caught glimpses of the rotten city below. Another turf war had broken out since the last cleanse and it looked like it wasn't going to be stopping anytime soon. In reality, it didn't even really matter. Lucifer only let them fight for power because it amused him. If he wanted to he could crush them with little more than a wave of his hand. Seraphim snorted at the thought of it. The Overlords thought they were strong, but they hadn't seen the real Lucifer and for that Seraphim envied them. In this case, ignorance was bliss. Seraphim flew on the outskirts of the city and landed on a hill that looked out over the vast legions of Angels preparing to raid the city. Seraphim gave a fanged smile. It had been long since he had the chance to stretch out.
The devils and demons in the city probably didn't even know that their lives depended on him succeeding in this battle. Seraphim rolled his eyes at the irony of the thought. Weren't devils and demons suppose to be clever and here he was the protector of the wicked. He, the person named after a court of angels, was protecting sinners against their holy retribution. Yeah, his father was certainly a Dick. His two scaled wings stretched out and the blazing red sun cast a shadow of them over the Angels. Seraphim then raised his hand up as the Angels charged and then when they took to the air he closed it into a fist. Icicle spears shout out of the ground piercing wings. Blood and feathers filled the sky as the angels around him continued to fall. A cruel smile made its way onto Seraphim's face when he saw that one of the angles had eight wings rather than the common two of the angel foot soldiers. It looked like he was going to get the fight that he wanted.
He then formed a sword made of ice in his hand and dodged the first swing of the angel's sword. He dodged swipe after swipe of the angelic sword and then he parried and grabbed one ice sword through the angel's foot. The angel let out a chortled scream and Seraphim then created an ice spear and slammed it into the angel's ribs. He crumpled then and Seraphim stared down at the defeated angel. He looked at the battlefield and it was covered in dead bodies of angels. He shrugged and sat down on the hill next to the downed leader of the angels.
The angel accused "You killed them. The angels of heaven. God's wrath will come upon you now". Seraphim laughed at the proclamation and continued to laugh as he watched the angel struggle.
He eventually asked, "And why should I care? God is the ruler of Heaven and I am a denizen of Hell".
The angel seemed to have a faint glint in his eye as he said "God is the ruler of all. He will purge this place in the end times and you will suffer his wrath".
Seraphim continued to chuckle and said "A bit hypocritical from the all-forgiving being". The Angel lunged forward with an incredible speed and jammed the angelic weapon into his chest. Seraphim looked baffled and impressed on multiple ends. There was a searing pain in his chest that he ignored. He had to be an image of strength lest cracks start to form in the armies of Lucifer.
Seraphim said, "A very dirty trick coming from an angel. I thought God bred angels to have impeccable honor. I wonder if your short time in Hell has changed you".
The angel looked shocked at the devil that was ignoring the sword in his chest. Those weapons were capable of killing the Princes of Hell. The devil in front of him should have been dead. The angel asked, "What are you"?
Seraphim glanced down at his chest and shrugged. He said, "You don't think they would send a low ranking demon to kill angels do you. Lucifer isn't someone who takes an attack lying down".
The Angel ignored the comment and accused "You should be dead. Not even the Princes of Hell could survive a weapon like that". Seraphim made a ding-ding noise and twirled his finger around.
He said, "It looks like we have a winner. You even got it in one". The angel was at a loss for words as he stared at the man with snow-white wings that were so similar to his own. He stared in abject horror as he realized what he was standing in front of. A Prince of Hell wasn't simply one of the most powerful beings in Hell. It was the embodiment of that sin and could crush close to anything it wanted. There was a reason there were only seven families that could claim the title. At most, the angel had thought he would be facing an Overlord.
Seraphim stood up ignoring the sword in his chest and the sensations of pain it caused. He eventually bowed and said, "Let me introduce myself. I am Seraphim Leviathan. I am the son of the current Prince Leviathan. I am one of the four generals of Lucifer's army. It is a pleasure to meet you". The angel tried to stand up and was met with a foot to his back that pushed him back into the dirt. He struggled to stand.
Seraphim smiled and said, "I wonder when the rest of the angels are going to come? It was a nice warm-up, but I haven't had a good fight in a while you see". Seraphim looked out at the approaching army of angels and the one under his shoe began to struggle and tried to stop his friends. Their wings blotted out Hell's sun and it had started to rain. Seraphim felt the rain on his bare skin and watched as the angels continued to approach.
He said aloud "I wonder how you must feel now to understand that God has sent his children to a suicidal mission". He then flicked his wrists and the rain that had started to fall turned into small ice shards that pierced the bodies of the angels coming. They fell one by one and blood seeped from the sky. One angel had made his way to where Seraphim and the angel were and he reached out towards Seraphim with his spear. Seraphim simply reached forward and grabbed onto the angel's skin.
The spear angel stopped in place and ice crept up his body covering it as a whole and then Seraphim reached forward and crushed the man's skull. He looked down at the now trembling angel and said "For what it's worth you have my praise for the dedication, but it mattered not. It is beautiful isn't it. The ice I mean".
The angel had stopped talking and Seraphim was simply talking to himself. He continued "Ice is so much like Wrath. It is remarkable. That's how it starts. The fever. The rage. The feeling of powerlessness that turns good men… cruel. So alike the two are that it is no wonder people think the world will end with the Big Freeze".
Seraphim then returned to his bored look and created an ice spear from his hand. He jammed it down into the angel's chest and the blood splattered on the ground. Seraphim then dissolved the spear and looked at the angelic sword in disdain. He spread his wings and took flight. He soon landed at a slightly run-down Hotel. He brushed off any dust on his wings and they collapsed so he could fit in the building. He brushed the snow-white hair out of his icy blue eyes and prepared himself for the nagging he was about to get. He released a sigh and pushed open the doors.
Charlie stood at the front and greeted "Welcome to the Hazbin Hotel. How may I...Seraphim why do you have a sword in your chest"? She had her arms folded and an eyebrow that was twitching. Seraphim shrugged her off and headed towards his room. Charlie was hot on his heels and Vaggie not far behind.
Vaggie seemed just as persistent as she asked the same question. Seraphim ignored the two of them and walked into his room. He quickly unbuttoned the shirt and grabbed clothe to patch himself up. He looked over at the two girls that were watching him. He then grabbed a hold of the sword hilt and he heard Charlie yell "Seraphim stop. You could kill yourself".
Vaggie meanwhile reassured Charlie "Don't worry Charlie. He won't die. He is too stubborn". Seraphim ignored the comment and pulled the sword out of his chest. He hissed in pain. Charlie ran over to him and placed her hand on his shoulder. He looked down at her and sighed.
He said, "Relax Charl. I just got caught up in a bit of work. That's it". Charlie looked uneasy about that. Her father and she certainly had a rift between the two and she knew Seraphim worked for Lucifer.
Vaggie held up the angelic weapon and said "This isn't your normal work Seraphim. Angelic weapons aren't a common weapon used when dealing with the citizens of Pentagram City. What were you doing"?
Seraphim fell back on his bed and asked "Does it matter? I've dealt with it and I am still living".
Charlie responded, "Of course it matters. One of my best friends can't just show up with an angelic weapon through his chest and not expect us to find out who did it".
Seraphim responded with "Just drop it Charlie, Vaggie. It is just a part of the job".
Vaggie countered "And if the Prince Leviathan were to end up dead in the Hotel? How do you think that would affect the Hotel and the Lucifer family as a whole? That doesn't even count your sister. What would we tell her"? Seraphim ran his hands through his hair and closed his eyes. He needed a nap.
He eventually said, "I was out dealing with some work for Lucifer and it didn't go as expected". Charlie and Vaggie seeing this was going nowhere let the subject drop.
Charlie piped up after "Maybe you should take a break from Dad's jobs. You seem worn out from it all". Seraphim lazily eyed the princess of Hell and groaned. Why did he have such troublesome friends? He was working overtime for Lucifer to keep this Hotel running and that didn't even count towards helping to fix up the Hotel itself. It had been a long process, but the Hotel was now liveable. Sure the job didn't have much action, but Lucifer had been piling odd jobs on like this Ars Goetia one.
Charlie was none the wiser to this it seemed and Vaggie only had the faintest clue that anything was happening. Seraphim swung his body up and he was staring directly at Charlie. He said, "I'll be gone for a few days. Don't get in trouble while I'm gone".
Charlie and Vaggie shared a look when Seraphim wasn't paying attention. Charlie said "Well…." She was then promptly stopped when Seraphim held a hand over her mouth. He said "No singing Charlie. I've had a long day". Charlie looked put off and Vaggie was smiling at the interaction.
Charlie eventually said "Fine. I'll go make dinner. You coming to Vaggie"?
Vaggie nodded and said "Yeah, I'll be there in a second''. Charlie left and started to prepare dinner for the night. Angel Dust would be down when the food was ready. Now in Seraphim's room was just him and Vaggie.
Vaggie eventually said, "You know you shouldn't lie to her like that. This angelic weapon is close to as good as mine".
Seraphim snorted and said, "It's a pot calling the kettle black. Why don't you look in the mirror before you tell me you shouldn't lie to Charlie". Vaggie crossed her arms and scowled.
She asked, "What is that supposed to mean"?
Seraphim leaned back into his cushions and said "I would think you know better than me Vaggie. Lying to your girlfriend is never good".
Vaggie scowled and asked, "When have I ever lied to Charlie"?
Seraphim tilted his head and raised an eyebrow. He said, "So you not telling her that you want to repent and be saved from your sins is the same situation. The only thing I've kept from her is that I am doing dangerous work. You're secret could break her".
The two were glaring at each other and Vaggie said "You don't know anything about me. Don't judge me. There is always that pull to be saved and it is driving to the edge of insanity. I'm sure Charlie will understand".
Seraphim sighed and walked up to Vaggie. He hugged her and whispered "I can't say I know how you feel. Being born in Hell is so much different than coming here after you die. You had a life outside this. No fire. No screams to wake you up in the middle of the night. I can't even say I sympathize with it. I just know sinners and demons born in Hell are almost completely different".
Vaggie looked up at Seraphim and awkwardly asked "When I'm gone will you support Charlie? Will you make sure she doesn't give up on them and still try to help the sinners"?
Seraphim sighed again and said, "You have my promise Vaggie. Even if you don't need to worry". Vaggie nodded and wiped off a tear from her face. Seraphim smiled and patted her head. He looked over to his bag and grunted as he moved to pack. Vaggie looked over at him and joined him to help him pack.
The golden doors easily signified what was behind them. It was the council of the Ars Goetia and it was packed thanks to Lucifer's associates. Seraphim flexed his fingers and let his demonic powers leak out slightly. He would need to make a statement. He looked down at his phone. He had gotten a text from Vaggie. It read I'm sorry about this and there was a video. He clicked on the video and his jaw dropped. Charlie had just sung about helping Sinners on live television. Well, it looks like he would need to kill one of the Ars Goetia or Lucifer would be pissed. Well, Lucifer was pissed already, but he would need to flex his muscles a bit to ease the tension of his boss. He slowly pressed against the golden doors that depicted thousands upon thousands of accomplishments of the Ars Goetia. Laughter ran across the room as council heads watched the video of Charlie singing.
The council's attention turned when they saw someone had entered the room. Seraphim strode in and without hesitation, his body began to grow and scales slithered up his skin. In Seraphim's place was a white and blue dragon that was curled up in the middle of the Ars Goetia. The dragon was hissing as the council members.
It hissed out "You bigot council members have overstepped your bounds. Letting other devils enter the real world besides the contracted ones and Lucifer is not pleased".
The council broke out in argument and one said "We have done nothing of the sort. We have followed all of his rules. Lucifer is the one that has not followed through on his proposal. He promised marriage between Ars Goetia and the Princes of Hell. I don't see marriage happening".
The dragon snapped at the man and said "You dare accuse Lucifer of cheating you. You got your marriage less than a few months ago. I should kill you here and now". The man didn't shrink back and instead flared his power. The rest of the council followed through and Seraphim snarled. The room temperature dropped and the council members were frozen in place. He morphed back into his humanoid form and approached Duke Agares. He looked back at Charlie singing and sighed. She just had to make this worse.
Seraphim grabbed a hold of the old demon's throat and forced his demonic magic into his hand. The magic began to burn the demon's throat and the rest of the Ars Goetia could only watch in horror. Seraphim then dropped the corpse and let go of the other Ars Goetia demons from being frozen solid. He said "I will make this simple. I am Seraphim. The prince Leviathan and the council of Ars Goetia will follow the guidelines of the deal with Lucifer. And if I find any sense of treason I will tear through the Ars Goetia and no clan will be left. Tread lightly council. You are being watched now". Seraphim turned and walked out of the now silent room that started full of laughter. It brought an immeasurable amount of satisfaction to him that they had stopped laughing at Charlie.
Seraphim waited till the council meeting had finished and Stolas strolled towards him. Stolas leaned over and said, "My that was quite the example you performed in the council meeting Leviathan". Seraphim rolled his eyes at the suave voice.
He eventually said, "Fuck off Stolas. I know you were the one that gave the book to the imps". Stolas pulled back shocked and then his eyes flashed green.
Seraphim grunted and said "Stop trying to turn me into stone. It's annoying and you aren't being hunted down for it. Lucifer thought it was amusing and wants me to follow the imps and make sure they don't do anything to expose themselves in the human world".
Stolas smiled with his beak and said "That is quite lovely to hear my dear, but why do that all with the council"?
Seraphim groaned and said, "You know how it is Stolas. It is all about flexing power. If Lucifer controls me then how strong is he. It didn't help that Charlie sang about her redemption Hotel on the television". Stolas nodded and the two continued to chat. It was fine until Stolas had decided to regale him of his sex life with the imp Blitz. Well, at least the next few years in Hell would be interesting right.
It had been a long day and Seraphim had spent the rest of it searching around Imp City. He flew back to the Hazbin Hotel and opened the doors. He paused when he saw how tidy it was here. He ignored the strangeness of it and entered the dining room. It was just about dinner. He sat down and slumped over. He slowly started to drift off in unconsciousness when he heard Charlie, Vaggie, and a Radio voice entering the room. His eyes snapped open and he groaned as he slammed his head back on the table. He closed his eyes and prayed to whoever was listening that it wasn't who he thought it was.
Charlie came over and started to poke Seraphim and said "Look at our newest provider Seraphim. Isn't this just great"? Seraphim gave her a lidded stare and said, "Charlie I left you for a day and you brought one of the most dangerous demons in Hell to the Hotel".
Alister popped up in front of Charlie who was laughing nervously. He said, "I'm so glad you have heard of me Seraphim".
Angel Dust popped in "Don't worry. We can always use more handsome men around here".
Seraphim gave Angel Dust a dirty stare and hissed out "Shut up".
Charlie got in between the two and said "Why don't we all just calm down". Alister then leaned over and looked Seraphim up and down.
He said, "My you are not what I expected Seraphim the beast of Lucifer". Seraphim just rolled his eyes and said "Like I haven't heard that one before".
Alister smiled and said "Oh I'm sure you have, but you also go by the butcher of Angels. No"? Seraphim scowled and stood up from his seat.
He then walked out of the dining room and back up to his bedroom. He fell on the bed and stared at the ceiling. Alister knowing about the angels was a surprise and not a good one. If the denizens of Hell figured out God sent out angels to start another holy war. Battles and fighting were fine, but a holy war was different. Seraphim looked at a picture of him, Charlie, Vaggie, and his baby sister and sighed. Charlie wasn't ready for a war on that scale neither was Vaggie. He would do anything to protect them. Even if that meant he had to get his hands bloodied with angel and demon blood.
