The Dark Master

It is a time of unprecedented peace in the galaxy. For centuries, the GALACTIC REPUBLIC has experienced a golden age free from the fear and oppression of the SITH. The CORE WORLDS prosper, as education and technology grow and improve under the Republic's leadership. However, the same cannot be said for the settled worlds of the OUTER RIM. Many colonies and small worlds face trouble, as well as attempts to rebuild worlds ravaged by the GREAT SITH WAR. These worlds receive little support from the REPUBLIC SENATE, leaving them to struggle for stability.

Rumors of an ancient sickness spread like wildfire. Traders, smugglers, and mercenaries speak of a long forgotten PLAGUE awakened within the Outer Rim colonies. A lone member of the JEDI ORDER investigates these claims without Republic support. Meanwhile, small settlements and outposts disappear entirely, leaving no trace to be found. Regions with better defenses report strange creatures gathering, but are unable to provide sufficient evidence to request the aid or protection of the REPUBLIC FORCES.

LUXURIAH CARSEN, an old and reserved JEDI MASTER, returns from her investigation after receiving a summons from the JEDI COUNCIL. Within the JEDI TEMPLE, the youngling LARA ORI waits in her chambers, expecting a scolding for her rebellious behavior. Unbeknownst to her, the Council has assigned her as a PADAWAN LEARNER to Master Carsen. The old Master just discovers this herself, as her shuttle arrives above the Capital Planet of CORUSCANT...
