Preamble
Location: Sinnoh Region. Eterna City
It is very early in the morning in Eterna City, the oldest city in the entire region of Sinnoh. Everyone is still sleeping, and it seems the sun will shortly announce the start of a new day in a town where people live peaceful lives, proud of their rich culture and history.
However, in the outskirts of Eterna City, a black van is speeding along a makeshift dirt road. It finally reaches its destination: the base of one of the mountains that conform the Highland Range of Sinnoh, the same that extends across the confines of the region, dividing it in two halves.
Six mercenaries get out of the van and approach a large boulder. They install some explosives around it and one of them casts a glance at the one who appears to be the leader. A couple of kids, hiding behind some rocks and trees, watch them carefully on the distance.
Mercenaries Leader: Do it.
One soldier activates a device and a few seconds later, where once the boulder was, now there is an entrance to a secret and ancient cavern. The group starts searching the whole place, while the leader takes his time to examine the zone. After a few minutes, one of his men finally speaks.
Mercenary 1: There´s nothing here, Boss.
Mercenary 2: No treasure to be seen, only rocks.
Mercenaries Leader: It has to be here. Keep searching.
Mercenary 3: Over here, Boss! I found something!
The group gather around a statue of an angel with a fierce look in the eyes and it attacking position. The leader sets his sight in the angel´s left hand, which holds a fine and valuable staff.
Mercenaries Leader: Magnificent! I bet they will pay a lot for this weapon in the black market!
The leader grabs the staff, but immediatly after that, the statue trembles, and the stone layer begins to crumble, liberating the angel warrior. His hair, clothes, and wings are all black, but when he opens his eyes, these are red. He glances at the man who has taken his weapon.
Mercenaries Leader: What the hell?! FIRE! FIRE!
The mercenaries start shooting at the angel, but he, taking out a pair of blades and showing off excellent combat skills, defeats the soldiers in no time, leaving them on the ground, injured. The winged warrior slowly approaches the only one who is still standing up: a visibily scared leader.
Seth: What the heck you think you´re doing?! I'm the most powerful man in Sinnoh! My name is Seth and I run this place! You'll work for me, angel!
The dark angel does not respond, it keeps appraoching. The leader rises the staff and prepares to shoot, but the warrior casts a magic spell with his left hand, paralyzing Seth and taking control of his mind. Before being possessed completely, the winged warrior retrieves his staff and speaks.
?: You are the one who is going to work for me.
The dark angel says this while looking at the other five soldiers on the ground and rises his hand to cast another spell.
A few minutes later, he walked out of the cavern, followed by his new army of brainwashed minions. It is almost dawn, and the sunshine is starting to illuminate the city borders. With one more spell, the dark angel makes his wings invisible and changes his tunic for a black suit. The children, who had noticed the malignant presence of the dark angel, prepare to leave.
Tino: This is bad.
Mila: Come on. We have to warn her.
The dark warrior stops and looks to the sky, visibly annoyed.
?: When the great Medusa is awakened, the forces of the underworld will rise once again and we´ll finally take the skies. We'll get the glory you took from us thousands of years ago, Palutena! You are the one who will fall down now! You'll see!
The scene slowly moves away from him and his followers getting into the van and away from the cavern, to slowly ascend and show a view of the sky and the heights of the city.
