Natsuki Subaru, the man who stopped the mabeast invasion of Arlam Village, the man who defeated the White Whale and the Great Rabbit, the man responsible for the deaths of the sin archbishops of Greed and Sloth, the man who is known as a hero across of Lugunica. Natsuki Subaru is an enigma. No one knows where he came from or his background. The reason for that being the fact that Natsuki Subaru is from a completely different world, a different universe. Not only that, but he has a special ability known to him as Return by Death. This ability allows him to rewind time upon his death, and he is the only one who remembers anything that happened, including the pain of his deaths.

While this ability has caused him great suffering, this ability has also brought some great blessings. Thanks to this ability, he was able to save so many people and it made it possible for him to attain his current achievements. He was heavily plagued with nightmares and PTSD, but if it's for Emilia, his friends, Arlam Village, and even random people, then all of the suffering is worth it.

It started off as a normal day, Subaru and his Beako woke up, Subaru changed into his tracksuit as soon as Beatrice left the room, he went to go and greet his friends Emilia, Garfiel, Otto, Frederica, and Petra.

"Yo! Good morning everyone! How is everyone doing today?" Subaru said, getting everyone's attention.

"Oi! Good morning Captain!" said Garfiel as he excitedly pumped his fist into the air.

"Good morning, Natsuki-san. How are you doing today?" Otto said while giving him a fist bump.

"I'm actually feeling pretty damn Otto. Aw, are you actually worried about me?" Subaru asked in a mocking tone of voice.

"Of course I am! What kind of friend wouldn't be worried about their friend?!" Otto said with a surprised expression.

"Don't worry Otto. I'm just fucking with you. You make it so easy and fun to tease you." Subaru said while laughing.

"At least I know you're in a good mood." Otto said with a sigh.

"Good morning, Natsuki-sama. I hope you have slept well." Frederica said as she gave a bow.

"Thank you Frederica. But please, just call me Subaru." Subaru said as he was smiling. He never did like it when someone was being too formal with him, especially someone he has known for a year.

"Alright, Subaru." Frederica said. Subaru has asked her to do this before, but she never did it for him since she is a maid and he is her superior. But, she thought she would just do this for him this one time since he is in such a good mood today.

And then, Subaru felt someone holding his hand. He looked down and saw Petra holding his hand. She's always been like this towards Subaru.

"Subaru, can we play together later?" Petra said as she is giving Subaru the puppy eyes.

"Of course I will, Petra. You don't have to give me the puppy eyes you know?" Subaru said as he reached down to rub her hair as she smiled at him.

"Good morning Subaru. How are you doing today?" said Emilia while she is beaming at him.

"I'm doing great Emilia-tan! Especially after seeing your smile!" Subaru said while clutching his heart in a playful manner. In response to this, Emilia giggled into her hand.

"You reeeeally such a dunderhead Subaru!" Emilia said while still giggling.

"Who even says dunderhead in this day and age?" Subaru said, while he does love this cute trait of hers.

"Hey Garfiel! Wanna come train with me for a bit?" Subaru said while nodding his head towards the front door. He wanted to get some training in, to start the day. This has been a routine for Subaru for months, training in acrobatics and the usage of his whip, the Guiltywhip.

"Hell yeah Captain! Let's get this shit started!" Garfiel yelled out while getting excited because he genuinely enjoyed training with his Captain, the man he respects the most, the man who saved him from himself, and the man he calls his brother.

"Um, Subaru? Can we watch you two train?" Emilia asked. She wanted to see how far her knight has gotten under the guidance of the man known as Clind.

"Sure Emilia-tan! Time for you to see how far I've come!" Subaru yells while pumping his fist out into the air while holding his Guiltywhip.

Everyone was walking through the door, Subaru leading them into the outdoors, the entire camp being excited to see the Knight of the Emilia Camp and the Shield of the Emilia Camp train together until-

"CAPTAIN!" Garfiel screamed in worry and fear

"LOOK! SUBARU!" Petra yelled while pointing at Subaru, tears leaking down her face.

Emilia, Beatrice, and everyone else looked towards where Petra is pointing, only to see Subaru disappearing from the leg up. Everyone was panicking, filled with fear, worry, confusion, and heartbreaking at what they are seeing.

"PLEASE NO! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE BETTY!" Beatrice screamed while crying. This man freed her from her library and showed her the world outside. He is the one who saw through her facade and knew she needed help. He is her contractor and now...he's disappearing, dying.

"NATSUKI-SAN!" Otto screamed with an expression of worry and hurt on his face. Otto was captured by the Witch's Cult and was held hostage in a cave. Natsuki Subaru's efforts to defeat the cult were what saved his life. Natsuki Subaru is the reason why he is even alive and breathing, among friends. Natsuki Subaru is the man that Otto respects the most, just like Garfiel. Subaru is also the man he calls his brother. And to see this happen to him, to see him disappear...Subaru doesn't deserve that.

Frederica was simply a maid. She may have never been too close to Subaru, but she always wanted to be a friend towards him. After all, he is the man who saved her little brother and their people, knowing he struggled through so much to do so. His night terrors are a testament to what he has been through. It deeply saddens her to see such a wonderful man die like this, due to some unknown reasons, and the fact that not even his body would be left behind.

Petra was heartbroken. It was always boring in her village, until the day they all met Subaru. Ever since that day, life became a lot more enjoyable in her village. Everyone is so happy now, all thanks to him. He is also the one who saved her from the mabeasts, willingly putting his own life in danger to save her and her friends. To see her hero dying in front of her is so heartbreaking, that she can barely take it.

Garfiel was saddened and enraged. Why? Why does Captain have to suffer so much? Why is he so damn unlucky? Why does he have to die like this?! WHY DAMMIT?! Before he met Subaru, the only person he had that he could call a friend and family was Ryuzu. Subaru is the one who got Garfiel to face his past, and get over his own hate and ignorance. Subaru is the one who saved him from himself. Subaru is the one who risked his life to save his people. Subaru is his brother. So why does Subaru have to suffer despite all the good he does for other people?!

Emilia has always been discriminated against because of her similarities to the Witch of Envy and been alone for most of her life. One day, she met Subaru at the loothouse in the slums, he was trying to negotiate with the thief to give her back the insignia. And then, he risked his life to save hers from the Bowel Hunter. All he asked for was her name. From that day forward, he became her first friend. Someone who didn't judge her based on her looks. Someone who has saved her life countless times. Someone who saw her for the person she truly is. Someone who is actually in love with her. To see her first friend die like this is...unbearable and so unfair. Now, his bottom half is gonna and now his chest is disappearing.

"SUBARU! NO!" Emilia screamed out in heartfelt agony.

Roswaal was watching from his window. Natsuki Subaru is a man with an nearly indestructible will of steel. No matter how much Roswaal has tried to break his sanity, to mold him into the perfect tool, Natsuki Subaru never gave into the insanity. Instead, he made a bet with Roswaal, and won. Natsuki Subaru proved to Roswaal that his Book of Wisdom was useless. Natsuki Subaru has beaten fate itself. Due to this, Natsuki Subaru is a man he highly respects, and he is fond of the boy, but he doesn't show it. He will miss the boy and his antics.

"EMILIA-TAN!" Subaru screamed, reaching out his hand towards her and his friends, until the entirety of his body was consumed. He heard a voice inside his head.

"Natsuki Subaru, I am Od Luguna. I have seen your struggles, and the unbearable suffering you have gone through to save people ever since you came to this world. For all the good you have done, you have earned my respect and I want to give you a reward. You may not agree with this, but this is the best I could think of. I am going to send you back to your world. I am going to deage your body back to 17 years old, but you will keep your battle scars, the way your body is currently built and your authorities, including Return by Death just in case. I've also healed your gate. Do not worry about your friends. I will do everything in my power to ensure their safety. But know that you will never be able to come back here. Good luck, and live a happy life, Natsuki Subaru. You have earned it."

Natsuki Kenichi and Natsuki Naoko are in their kitchen. It has been a week since their son Subaru went missing. Both parents have been depressed and worried ever since their son disappeared. Both parents have cried in their sleep, wondering where their shining star has gone and what have they done wrong.

"Kenichi, I miss our son. I miss our baby boy, our shining star. I wish he would come home." Naoko said while drying up her eyes.

"Don't worry Naoko. I know Subaru is all right, and I know he is gonna come back to us. He just needs some time to himself, that's all." Kenichi said. He knew this. Subaru is his idiot son after. But in truth, he's worried too. What kind of father wouldn't be worried in this situation? A heartless bastard deadbeat, that's who.(I miss my little boy. I miss messing around with him, wrestling with him, making and eating mayonnaise with him. Please come back home, idiot son of mine.) Kenichi thought to himself.

Then, all of a sudden, they see something that completely shocks them to their core.

Above their kitchen table, a bunch of bright particles began to appear. And it looked like the particles were bonding together, trying to form something. Slowly, but surely, the particles were forming what looked to be a human body, someone wearing a familiar tracksuit. After completely forming up the body, the body fell onto the table and broke it in half.

Kenichi and Naoko went to look at the body, and their eyes couldn't believe it. Who they saw laying before them, is none other than their missing son, Natsuki Subaru. He is wearing the tracksuit that they custom made for him. At first, they thought he was dead, until his eyes started to open.

"Ugh, my head…" Subaru said as he sat up.

"Subaru?" "Son?" said two familiar voices, voices Subaru knew all too well.

"Mom? Dad? Subaru said as he looked up to see his two loving parents. The very two people who have taken care of him for most of his life are now right in front of him. The very same two people he thought he would never see again are now right in front of him. He could feel the tears building up in his eyes.

"MOM! DAD!" Subaru screamed as they both pulled Subaru into a hug. All three of them are now crying tears of joy at having been finally reunited.

"Subaru! My baby boy! My shining star! You're home! You're finally home!" cried Naoko, happy to be able to hold her son again.

"Thank you God, thank you so much!" Kenichi screamed in joy at having his son back in his arms again.

"Hey Subaru?"

"Yeah Dad?"

"Why do you feel a bit more bulkier? And what is this whip you are holding?"

Subaru knew this moment was coming, where he had to explain to them what had happened. (Hopefully, they won't think I'm insane.)

"Mom, Dad, I have something I want to tell you, but let's go sit down on the couch to get comfortable. Trust me, you're gonna need it." Subaru said to his parents.

They all went to sit down together on the couch. (God, I forgot how comfy this couch was. Holy shit.) Subaru thought to himself.

"Okay, I know this is gonna sound crazy. You remember those anime I watch and manga that I read where the protagonist gets summoned to another world, a fantasy world?"

"Of course we remember Subaru, but what does that have to do with anything you're saying?" asked Kenichi.

"I was walking out of the convenience store I always go to, and when I did, everything looked so dark at first, so I rubbed my eyes and that's when it happened. I was summoned to a parallel world." Subaru said and then he looked at his parents.

"Well, after seeing you materialize out of thin air a little while ago, I believe you, son." said Kenichi.

"As do I." said Naoko.

"Wow, that was easier than I thought." said Subaru.

"Can you do magic?"

"Yeah, but not right now. Using magic is exhausting and dangerous." said Subaru. He was right. It is also dangerous for him since his gate is not used to everything. He could potentially blow himself apart if he is not careful.

"But I can use one of my authorities." said Subaru, preparing to use Invisible Providence.

"You see that cup over there?" Subaru asked his parents and they both nodded.

"Now watch this." Subaru used his invisible hand to pick up the cup and put it back down, to his parents amazement.

"Subaru, that was so cool! What was that ability called?!" asked Kenichi while having stars in his eyes. What? A grown man can get excited by magic too.

"I call it Invisible Providence. It allows me to use an unseen hand at will, a hand only seen by me. I also have another ability called Cor Leonis, but I'm not gonna show that one yet." Subaru said, while being exhausted.

"Now, I have a question I want to ask both of you. How long was I missing?" Subaru asked. He was genuinely confused whether or not time was different here in his world and in Lugunica.

"You've only been missing for a week, Subaru." Kenichi told him.

"A week?! But over in Lugunica, I've been gone for a year! I guess time really is different in other universes." said Subaru while still surprised by the revelation.

Kenichi and Naoko were surprised as well. A year?! According to Subaru, he has been in that world for a year?!

"Subaru, can you tell us about your adventures in the other world?" Naoko asked. She is curious to what Subaru has been up to in another world. Did he become some bigshot hero or something? She has to know, and Kenichi is thinking the same thing as well. I mean, it is not everyday that you find out that your son was sent to an alternate universe, full of magic and monsters.

"Okay, I guess I can tell you everything," Subaru said.

Subaru told them everything about his adventures, excluding the parts about Return by Death because he doesn't know if he still can't speak about it and even if he could, he still wouldn't tell them because he would not want them thinking it was all their fault. Also, he tries his best to not think of his deaths and failed loops because due to his PTSD from them, he will have an anxiety attack, especially when he thinks about...the rabbits.

That is also where his night terrors come into play. He constantly has nightmares due to his experiences, unless someone stays beside him and holds his hand. While he was telling them about Lugunica and his friends, he felt tears starting to build up in his eyes. Despite being happy about being home and seeing his parents again, he's depressed that he won't be able to see anyone of his friends again, especially Emilia. She was his friend in Lugunica, the first person that was nice to him and helped him. She is the first woman he has fallen in love with. She has been there for him the entire time in that world, and he just disappears in front of all the people he cared about, the people he has fought, bled, and suffered for. (Damn, I really am a piece of shit. I don't deserve them. I don't deserve to be back here, I don't deserve my parents. My friends and parents deserve someone better than a worthless piece of trash like me.) Subaru thought to himself as his self loathing has been slowly increasing. He tried to love himself like he promised Satella, but he can barely find any reason to love his pathetic self. But little does Subaru know, is that he said his thoughts out loud and his parents heard him.

"Subaru! You shouldn't talk about yourself like that!" Naoko yelled out to him, angry that her son thought about himself in that way. (Shit! I said my thoughts out loud?! Goddammit!) Subaru thought to himself. He never wanted to worry his parents with his self loathing attitude. And now look at what he has done. This is just a sin in the long list of his sins.

"Subaru, just tell us about what is going on with you. We won't judge you. We just want to help you." Kenichi said, because he is genuinely worried about his son's mental health and how he saw himself. Subaru was reluctant to tell them, but he felt tears streaming down his face and the dam was breaking. The dam did break.

"In that other world, I have fought, bled, and suffered so damn much, not for myself, but for others! And in the middle of all that pain and suffering, I met plenty of great people, people I'm glad to call my friends, people that I have fought and suffered to save them, despite being so weak compared to the people of that world. I even fell in love in that world! And then, all of a sudden, I am disappearing in front of them, making them cry for me! Od Luguna, a god like figure in that world, sent me here, back home! Od Luguna told me that it is my reward for all of the good I have done. It also told me that I can't go back, even if I wanted too! But it also said it would protect them for me. I'm happy to be back here, to see you both again...but I feel like I left all of them behind! And I can't help but feel guilty!" Subaru broke down, unable to keep the tears from falling as they were now covering his face.

Naoko and Kenichi embraced their son, feeling nothing but sympathy and sadness for what he went through, and all that he has left behind. They had no idea about all that he went through, but they knew that from the way he behaved just now, that it was horrible. They wondered about what was the extent of their son's suffering, but right now, they don't care for all they want to do right now is make Subaru feel that he is loved and welcomed.

"Subaru, you are not weak. You are far from it. I don't know what you went through in that other world, but from the way you are behaving, it must have been horrible. I doubt I could have gone through what you did, and come back sane. But you? You have gone through so much, and came back. Yes, you may have PTSD, but you are still here. You are not catatonic, or irredeemably insane, you're still you. You're still the same idiot son of mine. You had no control over you leaving that world. It isn't your fault okay. It may be true that you can never go back to that world again, but you can start your life here again. You can start again...from zero." Kenichi said, trying to make his son feel better about himself and his situation. And Naoko was nodding her head in approval towards her husband's words.

Subaru just looked at his father, with a shocked expression on his face. The only other person who said something like that to him was Rem, and that was when he was at his lowest point, when he was about to give up and run away. Rem was the one who told Subaru that he had people that loved him and cares for him, as she herself was one of them. She was the one who told Subaru a similar line to what his father just said, and it had the same effect on him. Subaru got up, and hugged his parents back.

"Thank you both. Thank you so much. There was a girl in that other world who told me something similar to what you just told me, Dad. She helped me back on my feet when I was at one of my lowest points. She was the one who helped not give up or give into despair."

"Oh, is this the woman you're in love with?" Naoko said. It was her duty as a mother to tease her son about this.

"Well, she is one of them…" Subaru said while rubbing his head. How the hell is he supposed to tell his parents that he is in love with two women?

"One of them? Oh! My boy is a ladies man just like me before I got married! I had to fight women off with a stick!" Kenichi laughed while slapping Subaru on the back remembering days from his youth. Yes, he was quite the ladies man back in the day. While remembering this, Naoko just playfully slapped him on the arm.

Subaru looked up at his father and he was smiling. Subaru is happy to be home, and happy to see his parents again. He will miss his friends, but he knows that he still has to live his life, that he must still go forward. Hopefully, he can now do things better.

Few Months Later…

Subaru had just completed his first year in High School. It was hard as hell, because of all the make up assignments, but in the end, it was all worth it. Ever since he got back to Earth, he has been spending more time with his parents, his bond with them stronger than before. He didn't have any friends at his school, but he still talked to people and he is actually enjoying school when it was still the school year. He is enjoying being able to live as a normal kid. Sure, he often thinks about Emilia, his friends, and Lugunica and how everyone is doing, but he knows that they would want him to live his life and to be happy, and he actually is happy. He still has nightmares and, embarrassedly enough, his parents agreed to take turns sleeping with him to calm him down. His mother would sleep with him one night, and his dad would sleep with him the next. They considered having him go to therapy, but when they thought about it a bit more, they realized that they would commit him to a psych ward right away if he tells them that he got summoned to another world. Not to mention the possibility of the government picking him up and experimenting on him if he shows the therapists his authorities.

It was now the weekend, it was getting dark and Subaru wanted to go to the convenience store to get a few things, which is a habit of his. He went back to that same convenience store on the third day of being back home on Earth. He wasn't surprised to see that he wasn't summoned back. Ever since then, he would stop by that convenience store to get some snacks and shit.

He left the convenience store and now was heading home. He was thinking about how much he wanted to rewatch Gurren Lagann, until he heard screaming down the road. He sprinted, trying to find where the screaming was coming from, and he found it. He saw a bald man wearing a fancy suit, which is clearly drunk, bothering a woman by trying to drag her into his car, which looks like she is wearing office clothing and is struggling to get away from this drunken bastard.

"NO!" the woman screamed in distress, clearly bothered by this man.

"Don't give me that shit…!" the drunken fuck said.

"Ow! Please stop!" the woman cried out.

Subaru was seeing this scene unfold before him. (This motherfucker doing this to that woman...I can't ignore this shit!) Subaru thought as he already made his decision.

"What a waste of time! You think you're worth causing me trouble? Huh?" The bald asshole said as he was grabbing her.

"I'll call the police!"the woman said.

"Heh, call them if you want! The police are my bitches. They're not gonna take you seriously." the drunken bastard said while smirking.

"No! Stop!" the woman screamed while trying to pull herself away.

And then, all three of them hear police sirens.

"Someone called the cops huh? Get in the car! Incompetant fools like you need to shut your mouths and follow where I steer this country!" the drunken bastard said.

The bald drunken bastard noticed Subaru looking at him and the woman.

"What are you looking at? Get outta my face! This ain't a show kid, so get lost!" the drunken bastard said while turning towards Subaru.

This bastard's attitude is pissing Subaru off. He was already pissed when he saw this bastard basically trying to kidnap this woman while groping her all over. But the fact that this asshole thinks he is gonna get away with this shit pissed him off even more.

"See? This is all because you are too damn slow! Now get in the car!" He said as he walked over to the woman and tried to drag her into the car.

"OH HELL NO!" Subaru shouted as he ran over to them. That is when Subaru grabbed the fucker by his wrist and pushed him away from the woman. Due to being drunk, the asshole fell over as soon as Subaru pushed him away from the woman, and he busted his head, causing it to bleed.

"Look at what you did you damn brat! You assaulted me! I'll sue!" the man yelled as he pointed to Subaru.

"I didn't assault shit, you bastard! I just saved a woman from you assaulting her! You're the one in the wrong here!" Subaru shouted, pissed that this son of a bitch was trying to blame him for his bullshit.

"Hey! What is going on here?!" a cop shouted as he and a few other cops showed up at the scene.

The cop that spoke looked at the bald drunk and said "Hey, you're…". Subaru was about to speak, but the bald drunk beat him to it. "This punk assaulted me! I want him arrested!" the bald drunk said while pointing to Subaru.

"Hey! Wait a goddamn minute! This bastard was assaulting this woman and he was trying to kidnap her! I stopped that from happening!" Subaru shouted while pointed towards the bald drunk. There is no way in hell he is getting arrested for something he didn't do!

"Lady? Is what this man is saying true? Did this boy assault him?" the cop asked the woman. She looked towards the bald drunk, and he was glaring at her.

"Yes, he did." the woman said while looking towards the ground, guilty for what she has done. Subaru could not believe his ears. All of the cops there had an expression on their faces: fear. It seems that whoever that bald guy is, he has some serious connections within the police. Subaru was angry, but even so, he couldn't blame the woman or the cops, because they were most likely scared that the bald guy would use his influence to screw their lives up, including their families.

A cop walked behind Subaru while holding handcuffs. And as he was putting the handcuffs on Subaru, the cop whispered in his ear, and said "I'm sorry, kid.". And then, they placed Subaru into the cop car and they drove off to the station.

48 Minutes Later

Subaru was waiting for his parents to get here. This shit sucked, getting arrested for helping someone. The cops had him put in this room with a pretty big table with a few chairs. The cop told him to sit in one of the chairs and wait for his parents to get here. It took about twenty minutes for them to get to the police department. The door opened, and Subaru's parents walked in, along with someone else, an old man with a white beard, wearing a police uniform.

"Subaru!" "Son!" Subaru's parents ran to him and hugged him.

"Are you okay, Subaru?" asked Kenichi, trying to make sure his boy isn't hurt.

"I'm okay, Dad. Jeez, the both of you are making the other prisoners not so scared of me." Subaru said while trying to lighten the mood.

"I'm truly sorry to break up this family reunion, but we have some things to talk about. Let's all take a seat." said the old man and everyone took a seat at the table.

"It is nice to meet you, Natsuki Subaru. My name is Hanamura Daichi, and I am the police chief here." the older man, now known as Hanamura Daichi said as he reached to shake Subaru's hand.

"Nice to meet you too, Hanamura-san. I wish we met under better circumstances." Subaru said while shaking his hand.

"Okay, now let's get down to business. You went missing a few months ago, and a week after you went missing, you suddenly came back home. You said you were kidnapped by a bunch of thugs, and you finally managed to escape from where they were keeping you. But, it was some kind of camp out in the woods. They have also beaten you and cut you up a bit, since you have those scars on your body."

That was a cover story that Subaru and his parents came up with to explain how he is home.

"And now, you have been arrested for assaulting a man." the old man explained.

"I didn't assault him. That bastard was assaulting a woman and was dragging her into his car, basically trying to kidnap her. I saw this, I grabbed his wrist, and pushed him away from her. He was drunk. After I pushed him away from her, he fell over due to being drunk and he busted his head on the pavement. That's when the cops arrived. He told them that I assaulted him. The cops looked scared of him. They arrested me and the guy who put the handcuffs on me said "I'm sorry, kid", which makes me think he has some connections within the police department." Subaru explained to the man. That's when he realized something. "Oh crap! Are there cameras in here?!"

"Hahahahaha! Don't worry, Natsuki-san. I shut off the cameras before I came in here." Hanamura said while laughing his ass off.

"Hanamura-san, why did you deactivate the cameras?" asked Naoko.

"Because the man we are talking about is a very influential person. He has connections within the government as well, not just within the police department. He is a very dangerous man."

"Then if he is so dangerous, why hasn't the police done anything?!" Naoko asked in outrage, because her son may have had his life fucked up now because of this person.

"He is the type of guy who can hire assassins, bribe cops and government officials to do his dirty work. As for why the police haven't done anything, is because we never have the evidence of it. Everytime we do have some sort of evidence against this guy, it either gets destroyed or it disappears." Hanamura said, with an expression of regret etched onto his face. He wished he could arrest the asshole himself and put him behind bars to fucking rot.

"Who is this guy?" Subaru asked. He at least wanted to know who that drunk jackass is.

"I'm afraid I can't tell you that either. That's because of the possibility that you may be seeking to sue him or make a report on him. If you do that, he will definitely come after you and your family. I'm doing for the sake of you and your parents." Hanamura said.

"So my son is gonna go to prison for something he didn't commit and there isn't a damn thing we can do about it?!" Kenichi said as he is worried about Subaru. Kenichi can't help but feel like he is a failure of a father.

"I didn't say he was gonna go to prison." Hanamura said, causing some hope to grow in their hearts.

"Unfortunately, this is in his record now. His school will most likely not let him go back due to this. The judge is more than likely to give him a 1 year probation. I thought of things ahead of time. I already found a High School willing to take him, but it is in Tokyo." said Hanamura with a calm look on his face.

"But I'll have to live in Tokyo to go there." said Subaru. It is fucked up that he would have to switch schools, and while he is relieved to be able to still go to school, he will have to go to Tokyo to do so. That meant he would have to be away from his parents for a year.

"I thought ahead for that too. You're gonna be staying with an old friend of mine, his name is Sakura Sojiro. I called him and asked him about it. He seemed hesitant at first, but he agreed to it because he owed me a favor from a long time ago. He is a good man, rough around the edges, but he can be trusted. So that way, you will be able to continue school while having a roof above your head." Hanamura said with a smile.

"Thank you, but it kinda sucks because that means I would have to be away from my parents for a full year." Subaru said with a sad look on his face.

"Sorry, but there isn't anything I could do about that." Hanamura said with a tone full of sympathy.

"Well, Mom? Dad? What do you guys think I should do?" Subaru asked his parents. Sure, he is capable of making decisions by himself, but he wanted their opinion on this.

Naoko and Kenichi were conflicted on this. It's been a few months since their son returned to them. Within those few months, they have been closer to each than they ever were in the past. But now? He is going to be sent to Tokyo without them. But, parents are supposed to do what's best for their children, right?

"I...think you should take it Subaru. You need your education. Also, you have come so far in school, it would be stupid to give up now." Kenichi told his son.

"I agree with your father, Subaru. It would have been a waste of time and effort.." Naoko said.

Should he do it? He is now a lot more closer to his parents than he ever was, and now he is gonna have to spend a full year without them. But, he knows they are right.

"Okay Hanamura-san, I'll do things your way." Subaru said, his scary eyes full of determination and his voice full of confidence.

"I'm happy that you are being cooperative, Subaru." Hanamura said as the two shook hands
