Peter Parker had been Spider-Man for 7 years and was a year out of college and now working at Horizon Labs for one of his science idols Max Modell while also doing some freelance photography including some shots of him to sell to any newspapers willing to buy them. A year since his girlfriend Gwen Stacy had died from the final battle that he had with the Green Goblin who turned out to have been Normal Osborn the father of his close friend and roommate Harry Osborn and had been killed by the blade of his own Glider. This had been the fight that cemented Osborn as an arch enemy; rivalling Doc Ock and Wilson Fisk the Kingpin who he had put behind bars but still had resources and agents trying to rebuild his empire while he was in prison.

Gwen's death hit really hard and he could barely look at Gwen's mother or his brothers at the funeral while he stood with his Aunt May; it stung really bad since it was some time before her father police captain George Stacy had died during a fight with him and Doc Ock. His dying words had been to reveal that he knew that he was Spider-Man and to protect Gwen. He couldn't and let both him and her down.

Plus she blamed Spider-Man for her father's death and did until her dying breath; she died not knowing that she hated him...

He hardly saw Harry who had taken over his father's company and was spending most of his time trying to rebuild the image of Oscorp after the public revelation that the company's founder and CEO was the Green Goblin. Plus he had resentment and anger at Spider-Man for what happened to both Gwen and his father and he was giving him space.

He had a quite a night foiling robberies and some thugs got some good hits in and was almost ready to go back to his apartment that he could barely afford to stay in. However he noticed the fancy building of the Themysciran Embassy which was the embassy to Themyscira; the home of the immortal advanced Greek Amazon warrior woman. Plus the home of Diana the Princess of Themyscira and the warrior heroine Wonder Woman. She had been a founding member of the Justice League and Peter had to admit that he had a fanboy crush on Diana when he was younger.

He looked up to the main trinity of the Justice League; Superman, Batman and her. Though after he had gotten powers and became a costumed vigilante after his uncle's death he couldn't help but envy at how much he was ridiculed by a certain fraction of New Yorkers (including controversial online news host J. Jonah Jameson and his Aunt May didn't have as much a high opinion of Spider-Man at first) while the JL members like Diana was beloved. She could be seen during the day helping with any big incident that happened during the day or if there were giant monsters and aliens. At night and during his daytime patrols he dealt with his villains since Diana was busy with her events that she attended or with some big time mission with the Justice League.

He had some resentment but came to accept that Wonder Woman was busy protecting the whole world while there was him to stay close to the ground and take care of the little guys on the streets. He didn't think it was intentional on her part but just that she was busy with the big stuff.

He jumped off and was about to sling off when he heard someone from the ground yell out 'Spider-Man'. He lost his focus and fell right into a dumpster. Cursing his luck and thinking that he should have been able to make a new web to catch himself before falling he climbed himself out of the dumpster and then took off his mask to cough out the smell.

He felt someone help him up and was shocked and stunned to see Wonder Woman herself easily towering over him with a concerned look on her face. The stunningly beautiful tall raven black haired woman with the golden tiara with a red star, a leotard showing off her muscular figure with the bottom part being dark blue with a pattern of silver stars, a golden breastplate, a golden belt, silver bracelets and red and white boots.

Here was after falling into a literal dumpster and now unmasked to see Wonder Woman herself.

"Spider-Man, or should I say Peter Parker?" Diana questioned and Peter gulped realising that she must have recognised his face from the photos in the news reports about Gwen's death. "I had hoped to one day to get to see you and there are figures who had been trying to pressure me to bring you into questioning for the death of the Stacys." Diana told him sounding like she wasn't happy about the fact.

"I tried my best to save Gwen and I didn't kill her dad... I did my best to try and save them but it wasn't enough..." Peter told her gulping and afraid but Diana put a hand on her shoulder.

"I don't believe you were at fault, I have seen the look of heartbreak in the reports and I don't see it as the face of a secret killer. I didn't when I pierced you together as the most likely candidate as being Spider-Man." Diana told him and Peter gasped shocked. "Batman maybe the world's greatest detective but I could pierce together clues, especially when I saw the reports that your Uncle was the first criminal caught by Spider-Man." Diana told him softly and with sympathy and he was silent.

"I promise your secret is safe for me, when I figured it out from the reports I wished I had gotten to see you sooner as I realised you were only 15 when became Spider-Man. Older than the Robins that Batman trains are usually but still too young to be risking your life like this, even if it was to catch someone who cost you a loved one." Diana said with disapproval in her voice as Peter sighed at this.

He remembered in his early years when there were criminals and villains who questioned how old he was from his voice. "I could have caught the perp before he got to Uncle Ben but I didn't and I realised that I had the power to stop things like that from happening because if I didn't and something goes wrong then it's on me." Peter told her as she stared at him. "I want to help the little guy in my city by being their friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, no offence but stuff does happen here when you are busy saving the planet with the League." Peter told her and Diana giggled.

"Batman has said similar things about Gotham to the other League members, you are a brave and noble soul Mr Parker from what I can tell and may Hera help you recover from any feelings of guilt that are heaved onto your shoulders. If you want to talk some more then there is an open invitation to come and meet with me at the Embassy, open to both Peter Parker and Spider-Man." Diana told him and he was flabbergasted at this but gave her a grateful look. "until we meet again." Diana told him with a wave as he waved back.

She left and he put on his mask while climbing back up the wall, he would need to get back to his apartment window. Have his suit cleaned, a good night sleep and a shower in the morning. Wonder Woman herself invited him over to the embassy so he could go there after work the next day so he would have to pick out his best clothes...

I don't really plan on having Peter joining the League, if so then perhaps as a reserve member.
