It was a quiet hillside, the place a picture of tranquility. The sun shining down, bringing new life to the place of death as grass quietly moved in the wind. Shuffling through was a woman in black, her clothing matching yet also clashing with the atmosphere. In one hand was a basket, as she moved purposefully through the area, though her head was down.
As she moved memories filled her head.
"Hey look!" a short woman shouted, a beaming smile. "I finally figured out how to crossbreed flowers!"
Each bringing small amounts of joy and pain in equal measure.
As the crowd cheered, she looked around at her family, her friends, and her.
As much as each one panged her heart, she wouldn't trade them for anything.
It was a beautiful sunset, as they watched it. It was both beautiful and sorrowful, for it would be there last.
Finally, she reached her destination. Looking down at the grave, it was well kept. She could tell others had been there, as there were already several flowers there. She gently placed the flowers from her basket on the grave. Each red and pink petal fell to the ground, and soon found themselves watered.
The woman offered a smile, sad, but sincere smile. I miss you. Before she turned around. It hurt, it still hurt. It would always hurt. But she knew she wouldn't want her to be sad, so in her honor, she would be happy.
Felt like writing angst...and realized it's been a while sense I did anything. So this is just a short thing I wrote, not my best but eh.
