Awakening

Warning this is my first time writing a story ever. Constructive criticism is appreciated, (and needed). I want this story to make people smile and to just enjoy the Dragonball world as I do. There aren't wild crazy political views here, not fighting over the canonicity of some transformations. Just a world I wish for you to enjoy. Now let's dive into DragonBall Infinite!

"Dad, is he going to be okay?" I heard a voice vaguely from the edge of my conscience. My head was spinning and my eyes were heavy, my arms and legs were in pain. But I couldn't remember why.

"I think he's waking up." A voice of a middle-aged man spoke as I slowly lifted my eyelids, revealing a man with an orange and blue gi, he had black spikey hair that reminded me of a palm tree leaf. He wore a concerned look on his face, now with a hint of relief seeing me awake.

"Where..." I started saying, slowly getting up, my head started pounding like crazy and I fell as images and feelings flashed through my mind. Fire, pain, purple and red energy clashing with white energy, being knocked back, the sky changing from day to night instantaneously. I heard the scream of a girl... but suddenly my vision cleared and I was sitting on the ground again. The man was speaking and I only caught "...-Okay?"

"What?" I asked groggily.

The man smiled "I asked whether you were OK or not." The man sat down next to me, "My son and I saw you fall from the sky, so we came over to check in on you."

I looked over and saw a miniature version of the man next to him. I sat up a little and looked around. I was in the middle of a crater about 200 feet in diameter. I was wearing a tattered up grey and white baggy pants and no shirt. I spoke weakly "Wait... I.. fell?" Struggling to stand up, body sore, trying to remember what happened. But...

"Nothing.." I said "Wait why? Why can't I remember anything?" I stood up grabbing my head on confusion and fear. "No... no no no..." Suddenly I felt a blast of wind kick up, blowing sand and dust all around me "WHAT'S GOING ON?!" The wind started blowing even harder swirling around me. The man and his kid seemed to be struggling to stay put as the wind kept kicking up. The man and his kid suddenly vanished as I felt something swell inside me, threatening to tear me apart, my vision whited out and I felt myself scream but couldn't hear it. The feeling inside exploded out of me and all I could do was endure it. But as soon as the energy came, it stopped. I felt myself on my feet again and opened my eyes once more and saw the crater I was in increased in size, expanding to about a mile in diameter. I looked down at my hands in disbelief Did I do that? I thought to myself clenching my fists in wonder.

The man and the child both reappeared in front of me, the man's eyes were wide with shock, and... was that excitement?

"Holy cow! Your energy is amazing!" The man said grinning at me. His son (whom I'm assuming is his son), peeked from behind the man, looking at me with fear and wonder.

I looked at the two of them as my knees wobbled beneath me, "Who are you?" I asked with ragged breathing. The man grinned at me

"My name is Son Goku," The man said pointing to himself, then patted the mini him on the head "and this is Goten!" He looked at me with a slightly concerned look, "Do you know what your name is?"

I gave a slight bow of respect to both of them. I pondered for a second "I..." I racked my brain until I hit a name that rung the bell of familiarity "Fyren. I think my name is Fyren." I said finally and a feeling of relief washed over me, like a piece of a puzzle that just placed itself in the right spot. The puzzle was nowhere near complete, but it was a start.

"Well Fyren, that was some tremendous power you were throwing earlier!" Goku said grinning widely, and his expression changed to surprise once more "WAIT YOU'RE A SAIYAN TOO!?" He exclaimed pointing at my waist.

"A Say-what-now?" I asked in confusion. I looked at my waist, and I saw nothing, then I looked behind me and I nearly fainted again. Wriggling like it had a mind of its own attached to the back of my waist, was a monkey-like tail! "Wait What?" I half-shouted to myself, I grabbed the tail and I was immediately filled with an electric-like pain like I was touching a hot wire, I let go quickly with a yelp. "Whoa..." I breathed kind of in awe. I looked at Goku and scratched my head, "What did you call me again?" I asked, attempting to walk forward, but I tripped over a crack in the earth and began to fall to the ground. Goku grabbed my shoulder before I hit the ground,

"I called you a Sayian, and I know that because of your tail!" Goku explained as he walked us up the side of the crater I made.

I then noticed that neither Goku nor Goten had a tail. "Wait," I said confused "Where are your tails then? are they hidden?" as I was saying this my body continued to get sorer and sorer and my legs began giving out, but I kept walking.

"Ha! Well," Goku said laughing "We all did have tails, but we had them removed."

"Why? I actually think it's kind of cool to have a tail!" I commented moving my tail experimentally, finding it pretty prehensile.

Goku nodded his head from side to side saying "eh, well, I guess it depends. ok, so you know when you jolted when you grabbed your tail?"

"Yeah?"

"Well with Saiyans, that's our physical weakness, our tail is our vital spot, and not only that when you have your tail and you look at the full moon or a large concentration of white energy Saiyans will turn into A giant monster ape creature called an Ozaru," Goku explained as we neared the edge of the crater.

"Wait, seriously?" I exclaimed in shock and a little bit of awe Yikes... I got to be careful then don't I? "Is there any way to control it?" I asked Goku as we paused.

"Not that I know of yet," Goku said "but maybe! If you want to keep your tail, then I won't stop you."

"I kind of like my tail though," I said smiling, my tail wriggling without my control. "though it's going to take some time getting used to."

Goten started hopping up and down with happy glee "Dad! I want a tail now! I wanna be a giant monster and smash bad guys! RAWR" Goten started acting like a lumbering monster going "Rawr" more. I had to admit, it was pretty cute. And Goku laughed lightly at his son.

"Where are we going by the way?" I asked as I realized we had stopped on the edge of the crater I made. Goku nodded to Goten who immediately jumped on his dad's shoulders, Goku proceeded to lift his hand and with his middle and index finger touched his forehead and closed his eyes. I blinked and suddenly we were in a lush green field with rolling hills and a small domed house about 50 paces in front of us, which Goku shuffled us towards. Goten hopped off his father's shoulders and ran towards the house.

Me, being thoroughly shocked today, was not too surprised that Goku somehow teleported us, but I had to ask "Goku, how did we get here so quickly?"

"That was my instant transmission." He said as we reached the door of his home "As for where we are, this is my home. and right now we need to bring you inside. You look like you're about to pass out."

"wait," I said slowly, my eyes refusing to obey me, and started closing, "why are you helping me? I just fell from the sky, how can you trust me already?"

Goku stopped at the door, and seemed to ponder for a minute. "well..." He started slowly " one, for selfish reasons, I want to see how strong you are. And two..? I'm not sure. You're a Sayian and I feel like this was supposed to happen. And besides, you lost your memories, you need people to help you. and that's what I intend to do." Goku gave me a kind smile as pushed the door open. All I remember after that was Him shouting into the house, "Chi-chi! Are you home?"

My eye's betrayed me and my mind fell into the warm embrace of unconsciousness.

POV: Goku

"Hey, Cheech?" Goku shouted into the house as He brought the unconscious Saiyan kid into the house and laying him onto the couch. Goten ran off into the kitchen as his mother poked her head out from said location.

"What is it Goku?" she said smiling. That quickly disappeared when she noticed the boy lying on the couch, seemingly motionless. "PLEASE tell me you didn't kill this child." she sighed despairingly.

"What? NO!" Goku exclaimed, sounding almost offended. he was about to explain when he heard from the kitchen

"Dad and I found him earlier when we were training, Mom!" Goten shouted from the fridge.

"Found him?" Chi-Chi asked inquisitively walking over to the boy who seemed to be shivering, she then noticed the tail on his waist. "Wait, he's a Saiyan?"

Goku nodded "And a pretty strong one at that. When he first woke up he had this... fit. Of sorts. He began screaming and energy within him exploded out and demolished about a mile of landscapes. He must have expended all of his energy because right after we teleported here he passed out. It also seems that he doesn't remember anything other than his name."

Chi-Chi's eye's widened in surprise, but they softened as she looked at the young Saiyan shivering. she went over and felt his forehead, he was burning up. "Goten sweetie?"

"Yesh mom?" Goten said walking out of the kitchen with a dumpling in his mouth and hands. eliciting a laugh from his parent's

"Can you, after you set down your food, grab him a blanket and an icepack please?" Chi-Chi said laughing slightly.

Goten gulped down his dumpling and stuffed the other two into his mouth as he went back into the kitchen. Chi-Chi noticed the worried look on Goku's face, causing her to ask, "What's going on with you? You're usually never nervous about this kind of thing."

Goku seemed like he was about to say something when Goten said "Dad? I can't find the towels!"

Chi-Chi rolled her eyes and started going towards the kitchen but Goku walked past her saying with a chipper voice "I got it Chi-Chi!"

Goku went into the kitchen and saw Goten looking through all the drawers looking for towels. Goku smiled and went over to his son, picked him up, and onto Goku's shoulders making Goten laugh happily. Goku grabbed a towel, an icepack and, with Goten on his shoulders, went to the hallway closet and grabbed a blanket for the Saiyan boy. When he and Goten walked back they saw Chi-Chi on the phone

"Yeah if you're able to, and ask Korrin if you can grab a Senzu bean... Mhm... yeah he's a Saiyan.. alright see you soon sweetie." Chi-Chi said then hanging up.

"Was that Gohan?" Goku asked as Goten floated off his shoulders, grabbed the icepack, towel, and blanket. he gave the icepack and towel to his mom and set the blanket on Fyren.

Chi-Chi nodded to Goku's question as she put the icepack on the boy's head, hoping that would help him. "Gohan's family is coming over later today so I asked him if he could get a Senzu bean from Korrin's tower. That way The boy here can get some help healing. What's his name by the way?"

Goku facepalmed "I forgot to say that at the beginning. He said his name is Fyren. He doesn't know anything else besides that." Goku looked down at the young Saiyan. He was shivering like was freezing but his face was beaded with sweat. he wore a pained expression and seemed to mutter under his breath.

"Something about this bothers me." Goku remarked, causing Chi-Chi to raise her eyebrow but she didn't interrupt, "Why Doesn't he have his memories? Why did he show up as suddenly as he did? I don't think he's a bad guy don't get me wrong. I just think he might be an omen of something even bigger to come."

"I said this earlier" Chi-Chi stated "This isn't like you Goku Honey. you've been like this for almost a month now. Especially after Broly came by.

"I know Cheech, and I would honestly love to get Broly here again, and Vegeta too. I think that this will make Vegeta happy to know another Saiyan survived Freeza's attack." Goku said pondering

"It sounds like Freeza was really bad at killing the Saiyans huh?" Chi-Chi remarked laughing. "Well, I was about to call Bulma so if you want I can see if I can get Vegeta on the line?"

Goku shrugged "Maybe, and hey Cheech?"

"Yes?"

"Do you think you can make something to eat? I'm kinda starving!" Goku said giving his signature giggle and scratching his head.

Chi-Chi smiled "there's the Goku I know and love..."

POV:?

"Soon... It seems the little Sayian Brat has already been found..." A disembodied voice spoke from the murky blackness. Another voice spoke up,

"What about Goku and the rest of the Z fighters?"

"Oh... they will be dealt with in due time..." The other voice spoke calmly with a hint of malicious glee, "I am patient. I will wait, for I have the Perfect plan... we must first wait for our master's word.. then... I will reap My revenge..."

I know this first chapter didn't have all the juicy fights that make Dragon Ball famous, But PATIENCE. That will come soon. (as long as I don't die of this stupid virus.) but anyways!
