ZOOM!
Sonic ran around the town of Green Hills. After completing the final turn, he came to the middle of Green Hills, back to Tails, his best flying fox friend.
"2.467 seconds, a new best!" He told sonic as he came back.
"YES!" Sonic said, very happily. "Now I have a new record, and I've warmed up for when Eggman should fight us!"
"Wait, Eggman?"
"Yeah! I ran all the way over to his base and found out that he is planning to attack us today!"
"Oh! Should I get warmed up as well?"
"Nah, he's just planning on using some lame robots, just like last time."
"Sonic, last time was 4 months ago! He's probably improved them!"
"You have a point. Sure, you can come, just don't tell Amy or Knuckles, it would be a waste of their time."
"Sure! I'll go get warmed up!"
45 minutes later...
BOOM!
"That's gotta be him!" Sonic said.
"Alright! Lets go!" Tails replied.
They followed the sound of the explosion and found themselves not in Green Hills, but rather in a desert. There was a lot of smoke, but no sign of an actual explosion.
"Hey, since when was there a desert outside of Green Hills?" Tails said.
"Uh.. since, never?" Sonic said, a little worried.
"DING DING DING!" A deep voice said, from behind them. "Great answer!"
Sonic and Tails turned around. It was Dr. Eggman! He was on his flying pod, as usual.
"This is a simulation!"
"Wait, wha-"
CHHHHHHHHIIIIIIII
The ground below them faded, into a dark black floor. Everything around them faded until they realized that they were trapped! They were stuck in a huge black tinted glass box that Eggman was on the outside of.
"Anyways, while you two are stuck, I have a town to destroy! I'll be back for you later!"
Eggman flew off.
"Oh NO!" Tails said. "Now we're trapped, and Eggman is going to destroy Green Hills!"
"Not for much longer!" Sonic said. "If I run so fast around this glass, it will break and we will escape!"
"Perfect!" Tails said.
"Lets do this!"
Sonic ran around the glass as fast as he could.
SHATTER!
The glass was completely destroyed!
"Lets go!" Tails said.
Sonic and Tails ran as fast as the could, faster than ever. But when the arrived at Green Hills, they discovered something terrible.
There was no more Green Hills, it was completely destroyed and in ruins. Sonic and Tails were too late.
Green Hills was no more.
