This is just a little one shot based on the outcome of episode 7-8 The People vs Killer Frost.
Visiting Day
It is the first day that Frost is allowed visitors after being sent to Iron Heights. Caitlin arrives right at the beginning of visiting hours to see her sister. The rest of team Flash also pay visits to their friend so she never forgets how much they care about her.
Caitlin sat in front of the glass divider waiting for Frost to be brought in for the visit. They would only have fifteen minutes. Not nearly enough in Caitlin's opinion. But it would have to do. Frost had been in prison for two weeks. It had been a very long two weeks. Finally she sees Frost being led over to her. The blue glow of the meta dampener glowing on her wrist. Frost's was also wearing a pair of handcuffs. Once Frost sat down they both reached for the phones.
"Hey how you doing?" asked Caitlin
"I'm doing ok. I mean as well as I can. Been keeping mostly to myself. Get to spend an hour a day in the yard with the other metas. Other wise we are in our cells underground."
"That sounds depressing."
"Well at least it is bigger than the pipeline prison you use to lock people in."
"Is there anything I can get you? I am sure I can get you some art supplies. Sketch books pencils maybe even paints stuff like that."
"That would be nice. Caity don't come here every day ok? I do want to see you. But you need to move on with your life. Go out and meet a guy."
"Your my sister. I want to see you."
"I want to see you too. But don't put your life on hold for me. You haven't dated anyone since Julian. It is time for you to get out and meet someone. I would like a niece or nephew some day. Even if I am not in their life."
"Frost, you will be. We are going to find a way to free you. Cecile is looking into it. It will be the legal way."
"Caity, I can't stop you. But don't take to much time on this. Make sure Flash doesn't get himself killed without me there to watch his back."
"I will. By the way Norvock stopped by my place last night."
"What did old Snake Eye want? He didn't hurt you or anything did he?"
"Of course not. He just wanted to let me know if I need anything let him know."
"You do know while he maybe keeping a low profile he is not fully on the up and up."
"I know. Unless we need something we can't get from a non criminal source we won't take him up on it."
"That is understandable. But he has been trying to stay out of trouble for the most part since we saved his ass from Cicada."
"True."
"Caity, keep an eye on Allegra for me. Make sure she keeps up with her training and keeps out of trouble."
"I will. I love you."
"Love you too."
Caitlin watched as Frost is led away again. She got up and headed out. She stopped to talk with someone in the visitors office to find out the rules about bring gifts to prisoners. After finding out that that art supplies were fine as long as there were no cutting tools. But they would have to be inspected before the prisoner would be given them anyway. After leaving the prison Caitlin headed right to the arts and craft store to get some sketch books and colored pencils and a few other things for her sister.
Two days after Caitlin made her first visit to the prison Barry found himself sitting in the visitors room of Iron Heights. When she sat down across from him it was with a look of surprise.
"Barry." Frost said into the phone
"Hey Frost. You doing ok?"
"Sure. I mean as well as I can anyway."
"So no one is giving you a hard time?"
"Not really. I mean sure there are a few metas that are pissed at me for helping to lock them up. But most of them have been leaving me alone. I haven't gotten into any fights."
"Well at least you don't have to worry about this warden trying to sell you to Amunet."
"Like I would go willingly with that bitch. Barry how is Caity? She came a few days ago. But I am worried."
"She is doing as well as she can. I have spent some time with her. But we are still dealing with those other forces."
"Yeah I get it. Barry what about you? Is mama speed force still hanging around?"
"It betrayed me. I think it is the evil one not those other forces."
"I thought there was something off about it. But I was kinda trying to stay out of Kramer's line of fire. But you need to watch out for her too. She hates all metas. You mess up and someone gets hurt and you might end up as my roommate."
"I already been where you are in case you forgot."
"Nope haven't forgotten. Glad Devoe is still dead not alive like some of the other enemies we faced."
"That is a good thing. I will find away to free you. I miss my partner out there."
"You just take care of yourself and look out for Caity."
"I promise I will. I will keep it this time. Not like with the whole Savitar thing."
"I know. Time is up Barry. Stay safe."
"You too."
The next to show up the following day was Allegra. Frost smiled at her young friend who was wearing the jacket that she had let her have.
"Hey kid." Said Frost
"You doing ok Frost?" asked Allegra
"Yep. No one messing with me. I keep to myself most of the time. Caity was able to drop off some colored pencils and sketch books. So I have been spending some time drawing. Getting better at it."
"Good. Iris is planning to run a story about how Kramer was targeting you and blaming you for a crime that you didn't commit not caring that the evidence proved you didn't do it."
"That's nice. You got any stories you are working on?"
"A few. Don't worry about me."
"Hey you are my friend. I am going to worry about you. Caity looking out for you?"
"Yeah but I would rather hang with you."
"Hey Caity isn't that bad. She is my sister after all."
"I know. But it's not the same."
"I know. But Caity needs someone to look after her. Someone that can protect her. Yeah I know Flash said he would but if he has to choose between his wife and Caity we both know who he will choose."
"Ok I will watch out for Caitlin for you."
The next to come for a visit was Joe West.
"So Detective what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?" asked Frost
"Just checking up on you. I am thinking of calling a favor and seeing if I can get you and Caitlin a visit without glass between you."
"Don't worry about that. Just take care of Caity for me. Make sure no one tries to kill her. Cause I really don't want to get word that she died while I am I here."
"I can do that. It is the least of all I can do. Besides you saved my life more than once."
"What can I say I am not who I use to be."
"No you are a hero. By the way your buddy Norvock has been feeding information to CCPD on what he hears of criminal activity."
"I always knew he wasn't all bad."
"You stay out of trouble ok?"
"Don't worry about me Joe. I know how to stay out of trouble." "I know you do. It's just I care about just like I care about my kids. You are kinda my kid too."
"Love you too papa Joe."
Frost had been in prison nearly a month before Carla was able to make it to the prison. Frost was surprised at first but happy to see her mom.
"Nice to see you mom."
"I am sorry that I didn't get here sooner. I am sorry I wasn't here for your sentencing hearing."
"It's ok. I mean I get you were busy. You do have a company to run. At least you were able find out that if I had been force to take the meta cure it wouldn't kill me."
"That was good news. But I understand why you didn't want to take it. It wouldn't have just taken away your powers. It would take away part of who you are. You were born this way."
"Yeah. It was hard to convince Caitlin of that."
"Well you are her sister, my daughter. It is understandable that she wants you part of her life. A life that you finally get to live."
"Mom, this was my choice. I would rather be in prison and still be me then be free and not be me. Besides that bitch Kramer was going to use me to set a prescience that any meta that commits any crime no matter how petty should lose their powers. While I do agree that some of these metas that are criminals that use their powers to kill maybe should lose their powers. But what about those that may get arrested for stealing food to feed their kid? Someone who didn't hurt anyone do they deserve to lose their powers just because they had no money to feed their kid? Then there are the ones like Flash. What if Kramer or someone like her decides that he causes more trouble then they stop?"
"You have a point. Caitlin understands that now doesn't she?"
"Yeah. She does. She doesn't like my choice but she is here at least once a week to see me. She even got me some sketch books and color pencils so at least I can draw to pass time."
"I know I got the picture you sent me. You are getting really good. It was of you and Caitlin."
"Yeah. It is good to see you mom."
"I will be back before I head back home. But I need to check in on your sister. I love you Frost."
"Love you too mom."
Cisco came to visit on a hot rainy summer day. Frost only knew it was raining because one of the guards told her that there would be no yard time today do to rain. She smiled at him like she had when she and Caitlin revealed their split to him.
"Hello Cisco how are things with Kamelia?"
"Hey Frost. Things are going really good. I do miss you hanging around Star labs."
"So what did you do with my suit? Put it in storage? Or in the hall of fallen?"
"No it is in it's normal place waiting for you to come back and kick ass."
"Cisco that is not going to happen. I am not getting out of here. Not alive any way."
"Never give up hope my dear ice queen. You forget we know some very powerful friends. Ones that you helped save the world with."
"Cisco, I know who our friends are. But at this point the only way I am getting out is if I get a pardon from the president of the United States."
"You never know that might happen."
"I am not counting on it."
"Hey don't give up hope. The impossible is just another Tuesday for Team Flash."
Frost was sketching while in the common room of the prison while the news played on tv. She smiled seeing the story on the Flash saving the city yet again. During the next story on the upcoming mayoral election at a rally one of the candidates had there were shots of the crowd with people holding signs that read Free Frost. One of the guards came up to her.
"Your lawyer is here."
Frost got up and let the guard take her to a private visitors room for use for meetings with lawyers. Frost walked in to find not only Cecile but Caitlin and Lyla Michaels.
"So what is going on?" asked Frost
"Lyla has some news for you." Said Caitlin
"Frost, I presented your case to the president. Along with statements from Superman, Supergirl, Flash and at least half a dozen ARGUS agents. As well as J'onn J'onzz and Alex Danvers both former directors of the DEO. She has signed an official presidential pardon. Effective immediately." Said Lyla
"What does that mean?" asked Frost
"It means that as soon as the paperwork if finished you are going home." Said Cecile
"Mom is on her way so that we can have a welcome home party for you. Barry is already planning that white water rafting trip you wanted to go on." Said Caitlin smiling
"I should have known you all were up to something." Said Frost
Caitlin just smiled and hugged her sister. It was an hour and half later that Frost walked out of Iron Heights with Cecile and Caitlin dressed in the clothes Caitlin brought for her. Not the suit she had worn in court that actually had come from Caitlin's closet rather than her own. They arrived at Joe's to find the rest of team Flash and Carla waiting for them.
