Just a Regular Day in Crazy Town

Jackie was downstairs in the kitchen making lunch for the kids when Ryan came up to her.

"Mama Jingles is in the toilet bowl." He told her.

"Jingles is drinking out of the toilet bowl?" Jackie repeated.

"No, him in the toilet bowl." Ryan responded.

That got Jackie running full speed up the stairs and into the bathroom, sure enough Jingles was stuck in the toilet trying desperately to crawl out.

Jackie hurriedly grabbed the puppy and then stuck him in the bathtub.

"Ryan why was Jingles in the toilet?" She asked the little boy as she struggled not to blow as gasket as she turned the water on in the tub so Jingles could have a bath that did not consist of toilet water.

"Me put him in there, it was accident mama." Ryan said.

"How did you accidently put Jingles in the toilet?" Jackie asked, sure this explanation was going to be good.

"Him was firsty (thirsty) and him was trying to get a drink from the toilet bowl and him couldn't reach it so me picked him up but him was heavy and me dropped him in there, it was accident."

Jackie sighed, the little boy looked like he felt so bad and he had only been trying to help the puppy, not hurt him, he loved Jingles, all the kids did.

"It's ok buddy, Jingles is ok, you were only trying to help him, but next time he's thirsty sweetheart I want you to tell me or daddy and we will give him some water in his water dish alright?"

"Ok." Ryan said, brightening.

"Me sorry me put you in the toilet bowl Jingles." He told the pup.

"He forgives you." Jackie assured him.

Jingles wanted out of the tub, he was squirming all over.

"It's ok Jingles, you're alright." Jackie told the pup soothingly, she couldn't very well be mad at him, it's not his fault he went swimming in the toilet.

"Ryan, why don't you go downstairs and grab a few doggy cookies for Jingles, that will make him feel better." Jackie told him.

"Ok." Ryan said happily.

He came back moments later with a whole handful.

"Feed them to him while I wash him off so he holds still, ok bud?" She told Ryan.

"Ok."

That plan worked, Jingles forgot all about the bath and focused all his energy on the treats. He would gladly forgive his human brother for the slight toilet mishap if it meant he got lots of treats.

Luckily for Jackie she finished Jingles' bath right as Ryan fed him the last of the treats.

"Ryan could you please get mommy a towel out of the closet so I can dry him off?" Jackie asked.

"Ok, a big one?" The little boy asked.

"Yep, a big one." Jackie answered.

"Ok." Ryan said as he dashed off to get the towel.

When he came back with the towel Jackie wrapped the puppy in it and dried Jingles off the best she could. She then carried him downstairs. She opened the backdoor and carried him over to the grass.

"Sorry baby, but you have to stay outside until you dry off." She told him as she gave his head a pat and then went back inside.

She went back up to the bathroom and made sure there wasn't toilet water drips on anything and when she was satisfied she washed her hands so she could finally finish lunch.

When she walked by the back door again, she noticed Jingles staring at her with a sad look on his face.

She sighed. "forget it, lunch isn't happening." She thought to herself.

"Kids, who wants a popsicle?" she called.

All the kids came running.

She grabbed the popsicles and passed one out to each of the kids.

"Alright, we are going to eat them outside though so Jingles doesn't have to be by himself. Wait here, and don't open them yet, we'll go outside as soon as I grab Nora."

Soon they were all outside.

They had just started eating their popsicles when the front door opened.

"Jacks? Kids?" Nick called.

"We're out here Nicky." Jackie called back.

"Hi guys." Nick greeted everyone with a smile as he took a seat next to Jackie.

"Hi, how was your day? You are kind of late getting home, long night?" Jackie asked.

"Nope, not too bad, I needed to stay and get some paperwork done for my case." He answered.

"Hi boy." Nick said as he pet the puppy, who was sniffing his shoes.

"Why is Jingles wet?" He asked.

"Him go into the toilet bowl." Ryan answered.

Nick jerked his hand back like he'd been burned.

Jackie laughed.

"No, it's not toilet water, I'll tell you what went on later." She leaned over and whispered in his ear.

"Can't wait for that." He responded.

The whole family had a nice time sitting on the patio, enjoying their popsicles. Ryan even saved the last bite of his popsicle and gave it to Jingles as another way to say he was sorry for dropping him in the toilet and just so Dolly would get some too Jackie saved her last bite and gave it to her.

Surprisingly it had turned out to be a nice afternoon for the family after all.

The End! Thanks for reading and please leave a review!
