Hello! It has been a hot minute since I've written for this fandom, but I had the urge to write something short and sweet for Mother's Day. I hope you all enjoy the fluff!

I do not own Fullmetal Alchemist.

Riza fought the urge to audibly groan when she walked through the halls of Central Command.

That man. I urged him to focus on his damn paperwork all week and he still manages to wait until the last minute.

A wry grin tugged at the corners of her lips.

I guess some things will never change.

She fished her keys out of her pocket when she reached the door, but her eyebrows rose when she found the door was already cracked open. She pushed it open to find no one else in the office. From the papers scattered about Roy's desk, she could see that he'd already been here. She grimaced.

If he's already getting distracted, it's going to be one hell of a day.

She made her way toward her desk but stopped when she didn't see a stack of files.

Instead, a clear vase sat on it containing a combination of red and light pink carnations.

She cautiously approached her desk. A note was sticking out of the bouquet.

Happy Mother's Day!

An envelope laid next to the vase with her name on it. She opened it, her eyes widening as she read it. A smile split across her face, and she couldn't stop a genuine chuckle from echoing in the empty office.

Thank you, Edward and Alphonse. Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything I can do to get the General to shave off that mustache.

She looked back to Roy's desk.

But I should probably call and let you know he made sure I got these. It's a rarity that he completes a task on time, after all.

*break*

Izumi rolled over on the mattress, her eyebrows furrowing at the lack of warmth. She quickly sat up and rubbed her eyes. The sunlight filtering in through the window let her see that she was indeed alone in her and Sig's bedroom.

He must not have been able to sleep….

She looked to the clock, jumping out of bed when she saw it was nearly ten. She threw on her pants and blouse and shoved her feet into her sandals before bolting through the house to the butcher shop. She wasn't surprised to find Sig already at the counter helping a customer. The second the young man left, she joined her husband.

"Why didn't you wake me?" she asked.

"I thought you could relax a bit today," he said. "Besides, I had to get up early to run some errands."

What errands could he possibly have to run on a Sunday….

Sig went back inside their home and emerged a few seconds later with a vase full of purple irises. Her jaw dropped, and Sig cracked a grin while he handed her a small envelope. She opened it and covered her mouth when she read the note.

Those boys….

Sig put an arm around her shoulders and steered her back into the house.

"Why don't you go sit down? I'll make you some breakfast. The shop shouldn't be too busy today. Even if it is, it's Mother's Day. I think you more than deserve the day off."

*break*

"General Armstrong!"

Olivier swiftly turned on her heel to face the approaching soldier. Her nostrils flared at the bouquet of hyacinths he was carrying in his arms.

"This came for you from—"

She swiped the bouquet from the young man's hands. An envelope fell out onto the floor.

"I swear," she huffed as she bent down to pick up the envelope, "if that damn Mustang…."

She trailed off when she saw what was scrawled across the front of the envelope.

Happy Mother's Day!

What the hell?

She opened the letter. Her scowl slowly faded as she read through its contents.

"G-General, I c-can throw those away if you—"

The soldier stopped his stammering when she held a hand up.

"I'll take care of it," she muttered. "Tell everyone I'll be there in a few minutes."

She barely acknowledged the salute and her subordinate disappearing. She read the letter again while she headed toward the barracks.

This was very considerate of you, Edward and Alphonse. If that bastard of a general had sent these, I would burn them without a second thought….

One of the corners her lips quirked up a bit.

but since they're from you two, I guess I can't just throw these away, now can I?

And if a couple soldiers found the Ice Queen moving a few lamps so the flowers wouldn't freeze, none of them would say a word.

Well, there it is! I certainly hope you all enjoyed it! I've got another multichapter fic in the works for this fandom, and I'll hopefully start posting it soon!

Until then,
