I Love You, Mom

It was seven in the morning when Izuku Midoriya arrived to the cemetery. The quiet of the atmosphere was easy to settle into as he soon finds what he is searching for. The burial plot where his mother rested. He takes out what he brought with him and he proceeds to light the incense, then he sets down the bouquet of flowers that he brought to his mother: Chrysanthemum, Gardenia, Lily, and Orchid. He offers a short silent prayer for his mother, his eyes closed as memories of happier times flashing in his mind. When he gets in a more comfortable position once finished with his prayer, his eyes were already misty.
"Good morning, mom. Happy Mothers Day..."
He sighs.
"Well... things have been... very eventful for me, mom. I'm certain you remember Ochako. How in the passing months since starting school, I've often found myself talking about her. You've met her one time... when you planned that surprise birthday party on me. And I really loved it. I just really loved that day." He chuckles. "Well, Ochako and I are dating now. After you died, she just... she just stuck to my side and never left. She helped me... she helped me grieve. She just hugged me and allowed me to use her as someone I can just hold onto and just let everything go... let everything out."
His hands clenched tightly in his lap.
"It's been a bit difficult since your passing, when the new school year passed by and suddenly I'm now a second year high schooler with a girlfriend and an adopted daughter. Yeah, the little girl who I rescued in my first year at UA from the yakuza... I adopted her. I'm her father, and Ochako happily took the role of her mother. So... congrats, mom, you have a grand daughter."
Izuku chuckles a bit, before the quiet settles in again.
"Not a day goes by that I wish that you were still here with me. I miss you so much."
The tears started again, as he choked on a sob.
"For awhile after, I still found myself breaking into emotional crying, but everyone in my class understands. It doesn't hurt as much now anymore, but for awhile... it was hard still coming to terms that the greatest mother in the world would never again call me, to talk to me, to tell me that she loves me, that she's proud of me and all my accomplishments." His throat grew a bit tight as his emotions began to spill. "I would do anything to have you back in my life again, but I know that just will never happen. Life is... finite."
He sighs, wiping away his tears.
"I really hope you're resting comfortably, mom. I can't imagine... how those last moments must have felt for you."
He sniffles.
Izuku is quiet again as he just sits there cross-legged in front of his mother's tombstone and reflects on his life.
"Oh! Someone, please save me!"
The door slams open and Izuku emerges, dressed in his All Might pajamas, grinning happily.
"Never fear, young citizen! I am here!" Izuku cried out happily, laughing the boastful proud laugh just like All Might.
"Oh! Hooray! I'm saved! Thank you, All Might!" Inko cheers as the 'villain' is dealt with.
Izuku is grabbed into the arms of his mom and hugged tightly, mother and son laughing together happily.
"Oh! You're my precious Izuku! I'm so proud of you! I love you!"
"Hehehe! I love you too, mom!"
He remembers the days when he was such a bright and cheerful little boy, always running around in his All Might onsies, playing super hero with his mom. The days they would play together. The days he would spend with his mom going to the park to play at the playground. The days when he would be mommy's little helper in the kitchen when baking cookies. Even after the day he had learned he was quirkless, his mother still did her absolute best to raise him, to care for him, nurture him. The moments of pride she would have when the day came he got that letter in the mail and was told he had passed the UA Entrance Exams and was on his way to chase after his life-long dream. The ups and the downs he and his mom shared together. Especially the one day, a week after the incident that unfolded at Nabu Island, Izuku chose to inform his mother about One For All, and how despite her worries, she still supported him. The hours ticked away for Izuku, as he sat there at her grave, until he sees a growing shadow form in front of him, and then a pair of small arms wrap around his neck. The scent of apple filled his nose. He brought his hands up and gently caress the hands linked together.
"Is momma with you, Eri?"
"I'm here, sweetie," Izuku hears Ochako behind him.
He tilts his head up and sees the soft smile of his girlfriend, Ochako, standing there. She moves next to him and sits down with her legs tucked underneath. Eri sits down opposite from mom.
"It's nearly twelve thirty PM, Izuku," she informs her boyfriend.
Eri is holding onto her dad's hand.
Izuku looks back to his mom's grave.
"I'm now in my final year at UA, mom... and in about a month from now, I'm going to turn eighteen. Ochako's with me now, and so is our precious daughter, and I can tell Ochako's not happy I turn eighteen before she does."
Ochako snorted a bit in amusement. Eri was smiling a bit.
"My seventeenth birthday... was difficult without you there. But Ochako's mastered your katsudon recipe. You'd be so proud of her. She makes it with love, just like you do. And though everybody likes to rib on me for it, All Might's teaching me how to drive. But for some reason half the school's faculty is always there to make sure I don't do anything wrong. You should have seen Aizawa-sensei when he first learned I was learning how to drive from All Might. He demanded that the test car I'm driving has an installed brake pad in the passenger seat."
Ochako giggled, recalling that incident.
"But I just know that as soon as I officially earn a driver's license once I pass the driver's education tests, half of 3-A is going to demand free rides everywhere. Though, really, I'll be driving Ochako often to go visit her mom and dad."
Ochako leans in and kisses Izuku on the cheek.
"We've also had to deal with some hard stuff, unfortunately. Being a Hero in-training... it comes with those dangers, which you're fully aware of, mom. I can happily tell you that the major threats against society was taken care of and the country can breathe better knowing that a mad man like Shigaraki is no longer causing anarchy trying to burn Japan and the rest of society to the ground. Ochako and I got hurt in that one particular fight... all of us got hurt. But we survived it. And we're all still here, mom, safe and sound. Because there was no way Ochako and I would never leave our daughter behind. We went into that fight with the vow that we can give Eri, as well as every innocent person in the country a safer brighter future to obtain."
"Mama Inko," Ochako speaks up, "your son is the greatest man I've ever met, and I am so happy that I got to meet him. I'm so happy to have fallen in love with your son. He is without a doubt the greatest hero of his generation, and you would be so proud of him."
Ochako looks to Izuku, tears shining in the corners of her eyes.
"I love Izuku very much. And I will continue to love him until the end of our days. So you don't have to worry about him, okay? I'm stuck to him like super glue."
She leans against him, content and happy.
"I'll come visit you again real soon, mom. I promise." Izuku reached forth with a free hand and gently placed his hand over his mother's name etched on the stone. "I love you, mom."
After a moment of respectful silence, he finally gets up off the ground to stretch his legs, making sure they haven't fully fallen asleep on him. He helps Ochako up, and Eri was already on her feet, once again seeking her dad's hand to hold onto. The three began to walk towards the cemetery's entrance.
"Honey, are you hungry?" Ochako asks Izuku.
"Yeah. I am hungry."
"Mama, papa, can we go to McDonalds?" asks Eri.
The two teens smile happily to Eri.
"Of course, my darling unicorn princess," says Izuku with a cheerful smile. "We'll get you a Happy Meal."
"As long as it comes with apple slices," she chirped happily.
The two teen parents laughed happily, as Izuku picks Eri up and sets her on top of him, her legs wrapped gently around his neck as she holds onto his offered hands. She was smiling happily.
"After McDonalds, can we go to the Arcades? Please?"
Ochako grins.
"Sure," she answers, "we'll make this a family outing today."
"Yay!" Eri cheers.
By Inko's tombstone, her ghostly spirit was smiling happily watching her grown son walk away, surrounded by the love of his life and their adopted daughter.
I love you, Izuku.
Her spirit faded away.
So... yeah... I spent the whole day reminiscing about my mom, and I just had to get all of my emotions out. Obviously you can tell much of the current manga events are being ignored in this.
Oh god, I miss my mom so much...
